What Happens If I Miss My Mounjaro Delivery? (October 2026)
If you miss your Mounjaro delivery, do not panic and do not use any pen that has been left out until you have checked with the pharmacy: check your tracking, rearrange with the courier, and contact us on 0333 207 0413 or support@everydaymeds.co.uk. A quick overview
What to know
before you start.
-
A missed delivery is usually a logistics problem, not a safety problem, provided the pen is handled correctly once it reaches you.
-
Unopened pens go in the fridge until first use; if one has been left out, check with the pharmacy before using it rather than guessing.
-
Late pen and a late dose: take it within 4 days (96 hours) of the scheduled time, otherwise skip it and carry on.
-
Never take two doses within 3 days of each other to make up for a delay.
-
Our orders go by free next-day tracked DPD delivery in temperature-controlled packaging, so you can plan around a delivery window.
In this guide
01 · Act quickly
What to do straight away if you missed your Mounjaro delivery
The first thing to do is open your tracking link and see what the courier recorded. Our orders are sent by tracked DPD delivery in temperature-controlled, discreet packaging, so the tracking page will show whether the parcel was attempted, left with a neighbour, or is being held for another attempt.
Then work through this short list:
- Check the tracking and any notification. Follow the instructions the courier gives you for rearranging, redirecting or collecting. We do not control each courier's local process, so use what they show you.
- Contact us the same day. Support runs Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm: phone 0333 207 0413, email support@everydaymeds.co.uk, or chat in your account portal. Tell us your order details and where the parcel is according to tracking.
- Look at your injection calendar. Work out whether you have a pen with doses left, and when your next injection is due. That decides how urgent this really is.
- Do not use any pen you are unsure about. If a parcel was left somewhere for a while, speak to us before injecting.
If you want to avoid the problem in future, you can check how Mounjaro delivery works and pick a day when someone will be home. Saturday delivery is available for £14.99, which suits some people who are out during the week.
02 · Safety
Is the pen still safe after a missed delivery?
Keep Mounjaro pens in a fridge at 2–8°C and never freeze them. Unopened pens should stay in the fridge until first use and keep until the expiry date printed on the box.13 If an unopened pen has been out of the fridge, check with the pharmacy before using it rather than relying on a remembered day limit.1
If the parcel reached you promptly and you put the pen straight into the fridge, you are in the normal situation. If it sat in a hot porch, a van, a sorting depot or a cold outbuilding and you are unsure, ask us first. A pen that has been frozen must never be used.1 It is a prescription medicine, so we would rather you ask than inject something of uncertain condition.
03 · Your schedule
What a late pen means for your weekly dose
A late delivery matters mainly because it may make you late for an injection, and the missed-dose rule then applies. If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you can within 4 days (96 hours) of the scheduled time, then carry on with your usual day. If more than 4 days have passed, skip that dose entirely and take the next one on your normal day. Never take two doses within 3 days of each other.1
For example, if your injection day is Sunday and your pen arrives on Tuesday, you are within the 4-day window and can inject on Tuesday, then return to Sunday for the next dose, provided at least 3 days sit between the two. If the pen only arrives on Friday, more than 4 days have passed, so you skip and inject the following Sunday.
Our guides on what happens if you miss a Mounjaro injection and on what to do if you miss your Mounjaro dose go through more scenarios in detail.
04 · Prevention
Planning your next order so a missed delivery matters less
The most reliable protection against a missed delivery is ordering before you run low. Repeat orders re-check suitability and there is no auto-shipping, so nothing arrives unless you place the order. Build in a margin of a few days.
When you reorder, the Mounjaro pen at the starting dose is £169.99 for four weeks at the standard price, and every later order is £25 off the standard price. New customers save £40 on their first order with code FIRST40, and the automatic reorder discount applies to every future order (code DOSE25). All six doses are in stock. Orders placed by 3pm are dispatched the same day, with free next-day tracked delivery.
05 · Pen handling on arrival
How to handle your pen when it finally arrives
Put the pen in the fridge as soon as you open the parcel, unless you are about to inject. Mounjaro pens should be kept at 2–8°C and never frozen.1 Do not leave the parcel on a radiator, in a car or on a sunny windowsill while you decide what to do.
Before you use it, run through these checks:
- Is the box intact and does the pharmacy label match your name and dose?
- Was the parcel in the temperature-controlled packaging when you opened it?
- Do you know roughly how long it was outside before reaching you, and where it was kept?
- Is it within the expiry date printed on the box?
If any answer worries you, contact us before injecting. We would rather talk it through than have you use a pen you are unsure about. The patient information leaflet in the box also explains storage.13
06 · Cold weather and heat
Cold weather, hot weather and left-out parcels
The two risks for a parcel left outside are freezing and heat. Freezing is the clearer one: never use a pen that has been frozen.1 If a parcel was left outdoors on a very cold night, treat that as a reason to contact us rather than a pen to try.
The only temperature figures that apply to a pen you are using are the in-use ones: once you have started a pen it can be kept out of the fridge not above 30°C for up to 30 days, after which it should be discarded.1 That figure is for in-use pens, so do not apply it to a sealed pen that arrived warm. For a pen that was unopened and out of the fridge, speak to the pharmacy instead of counting days yourself.1
07 · Late pen, late dose
Late pen, late dose: worked examples
The 4-day (96-hour) rule is the only timing rule you need when delivery delays your injection.1
| Scenario (injection day Sunday) | Days late | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| Pen arrives Monday | 1 | Inject as soon as you can, then return to Sunday if at least 3 days separate the doses |
| Pen arrives Wednesday | 3 | Still within 4 days (96 hours): inject, then carry on with your usual day |
| Pen arrives Thursday evening | 4+ | If it is past 96 hours of your scheduled time, skip the dose and inject on your next normal day |
| Pen arrives the following Saturday | 6 | Skip the missed dose; next dose on your normal day |
Whatever happens, never double up. Never take two doses within 3 days of each other.1
If the late dose has moved your routine, you can change your weekly injection day, as long as at least 3 days (72 hours) have passed since your last dose.1 Some people use a delayed delivery as a chance to move to a day that suits their week better. Make sure the gap is at least 3 days.
For longer gaps, see our pages on missing a week of Mounjaro and missing two weeks.
08 · Coming back after a gap
What if the gap is longer than one dose?
A missed delivery usually costs one injection at most, but sometimes a courier problem drags on. After a single skipped dose most people simply carry on. For longer gaps, your prescriber decides what dose to restart on, so tell us how long it has been.
Do not guess. Dose changes are made within the licensed ladder: start on 2.5mg, step up after at least 4 weeks, in 2.5mg steps at minimum 4-week intervals, up to 15mg.1 Our ongoing monthly reviews, dose-titration and follow-up assessments by the prescribing team are there for exactly this kind of question.
Do not take extra medicine when the pen arrives.
09 · Travel and away from home
If you are away from home when delivery is attempted
A common reason for a missed delivery is being away. If you know you will be travelling, plan before ordering: choose a delivery address where someone can receive the parcel, or use Saturday delivery for £14.99 if weekdays are hard.
If you are travelling with a pen already, in-use pens tolerate up to 30 days not above 30°C, so most holidays need no special arrangements. Carry pens in hand luggage in a cool bag with the prescription label or a copy of your prescription.1 Our related guide on missing a GLP-1 shot covers general principles that also apply here.
The free GLPTrackr app can help you log injection days and remind you when you are due, which makes it easier to see whether a late parcel affects your next injection.
10 · When to seek medical help
When a delay becomes a medical question
A missed delivery is rarely an emergency, but if you inject after a long gap and feel unwell, take it seriously. Get medical help straight away for severe, persistent stomach pain that may spread to your back, with or without vomiting, or for signs of a severe allergic reaction such as swelling of the face or throat and difficulty breathing.1
If you take insulin or a sulfonylurea alongside Mounjaro, watch for low blood sugar such as shakiness, sweating or confusion; your prescriber may need to adjust those medicines.1 You can report any suspected side effect through the Yellow Card scheme.19
Mounjaro is a prescription-only medicine, supplied only after an online consultation reviewed by a GPhC-registered prescriber. This page is information, not a substitute for medical advice. To start or restart treatment, you can start your free consultation, or see how to buy Mounjaro from a registered UK pharmacy.
11 · Serious side effects
Serious side effects: when to get help straight away
Serious side effects are uncommon but need urgent attention. Seek immediate medical help for: severe, persistent stomach pain that may spread to your back, with or without vomiting (possible pancreatitis); pain in the upper right abdomen, fever or yellowing of skin/eyes (possible gallbladder problems); or signs of a severe allergic reaction such as swelling of the face or throat and difficulty breathing. If you take insulin or a sulfonylurea alongside Mounjaro, watch for low blood sugar (shakiness, sweating, confusion) — your prescriber may need to adjust those medicines.1
How ordering works
How ordering works at EverydayMeds
Three steps, with our pharmacy team alongside you.
Step 1: Online consultation — 5–10 minutes
Complete a confidential health questionnaire covering BMI, medical history and current medication. No payment is taken until you're approved.
Step 2: Prescriber review — usually same day
A UK registered prescriber checks your suitability against the licensed criteria (BMI ≥30, or ≥27 with a weight-related condition) and contraindications, and confirms your starting dose.
Step 3: Next-day tracked delivery
Dispensed by our GPhC-registered pharmacy in temperature-controlled packaging with needles and a sharps bin included. Orders approved by 3pm for next-day tracked delivery.
Prescription and dispatch follow clinical approval. Confirm current delivery options when ordering.
Afterwards you're not on your own: dose-change reviews are built in before each step up, our pharmacist team is available for side-effect questions, and repeat orders re-check suitability rather than auto-shipping.
