Before you book

Is this assessment right for you?

Not every service is right for every person. We will talk through your circumstances before you decide whether to book.

We can help if...

  • You are aged 18 or over and registered with a UK GP.
  • You experience ongoing difficulties with attention, organisation, impulsivity or restlessness.
  • These difficulties affect your work, studies, relationships or everyday life.
  • You want to understand whether ADHD could be part of the explanation.
  • You can complete online questionnaires and attend a video appointment.
  • You are on an NHS waiting list and want to explore your private options.

We will point you elsewhere if...

  • You are under 18. This is an adults only service.
  • You are already under an ADHD specialist service and it is more appropriate to continue with them.
  • You need urgent mental health care or are in crisis.
  • Your health or circumstances make an online assessment unsuitable or unsafe.
  • You need a different specialist service or an assessment in person.
  • There is not enough reliable information for a clinical assessment to proceed.

Not sure where you fit?

That is what the callback is for. If we cannot offer you an assessment, there is no charge for the callback and no assessment fee to pay.

NHS waits for an adult ADHD assessment vary widely by area. Many people wait more than a year, some local services report waits of several years, and some areas have paused or limited new referrals. In June 2026, there were up to 959,662 open NHS referrals in England that may be for an ADHD assessment (NHS England, ADHD Management Information, August 2026). Because waits differ so much, we do not quote a single NHS waiting time.

What happens next

Support beyond the assessment.

Your report will explain the findings and any recommended next steps. What happens after that depends on your outcome, circumstances and preferences.

01

If ADHD is diagnosed

Your clinician will talk you through the findings and what they mean for you, then agree next steps with you. These may include practical strategies, treatment options or further specialist support.

There is no obligation to continue with any ongoing care.

02

If ADHD is not diagnosed

Your clinician will explain how they reached this conclusion and whether something else may better explain your difficulties. If another assessment or type of support could help, they will tell you.

You still receive your written report and results call.

03

If you choose further care

If treatment is clinically appropriate, we will explain our ongoing care plans, which can include treatment reviews, dose adjustments and monitoring. Plans are priced separately.

Treatment is always a clinical decision, so no prescription is guaranteed.

Shared care explained

Will my GP take over my care?

Once you are stable, we may ask your GP to enter a shared care agreement where clinically appropriate. Your GP can decline.

A private diagnosis does not require a GP to provide NHS prescriptions. If your GP declines, ongoing private care may be possible, subject to clinical suitability and additional fees.

We recommend discussing your GP practice’s approach before committing to ongoing private treatment.

Common questions

Your questions, answered.

It is normal to have questions before arranging a private assessment. Here are the answers to some of the things people ask us.

About ADHD

6 questions

ADHD (attention deficit hyperactivity disorder) is a neurodevelopmental condition that affects attention, activity levels and impulse control. Symptoms begin in childhood, but many people are not recognised until adulthood.

Yes. Many adults are diagnosed later in life, often after years of managing difficulties without knowing why. A diagnosis needs evidence that symptoms started in childhood and still affect everyday life.

Difficulty focusing, disorganisation, losing things, missing deadlines, restlessness, acting on impulse and struggling to manage time. Everyone experiences some of these at times. In ADHD they are persistent and affect work, relationships or daily life.

ADHD in women is often less visible, with more inattentive symptoms and a tendency to mask difficulties. Symptoms are also sometimes mistaken for anxiety or depression.

Yes. Anxiety, depression, sleep problems, thyroid conditions and autism can share features with ADHD, and some people have more than one. Your prescriber considers these before reaching a conclusion.

It depends on the person. Treatment can include medication, psychological support, practical strategies and adjustments at work or study. Some people choose not to take medication.

Treatment and ongoing care

8 questions

No. The fee covers your assessment, report and results call. Treatment, titration and ongoing care are offered through separate plans, and we explain the costs before you commit.

Not necessarily. Treatment is a clinical decision based on your assessment, health and preferences, so no prescription is guaranteed.

Titration means starting on a low dose and adjusting it gradually to find the right balance between benefit and side effects. Your prescriber reviews you regularly during this time, including your blood pressure, heart rate and weight.

Yes. Share your existing diagnostic report with us and our prescriber will review it. If it meets our clinical standards, we can continue your care through one of our plans. If we need more information, we will explain what is required.

Some ADHD medicines are controlled drugs, so they can only be supplied up to 30 days at a time. Your plan includes the regular reviews needed to keep your prescriptions going.

Some GPs agree to a shared care arrangement, but many decline for privately diagnosed patients. If yours does not, you can continue your prescriptions through one of our plans.

Sharing information with your GP keeps your care safe and joined up. Before we prescribe, we usually need your consent to inform your GP.

Your prescriber will advise you. You must tell the DVLA if your condition affects your ability to drive safely.

Your assessment

10 questions

Adults aged 18 and over. We do not currently assess children or young people.

No. You can request a callback directly. With your consent, we check relevant health records as part of your assessment.

A prescriber who has completed specialist training in adult ADHD assessment and treatment, in line with NICE guidance.

It is a video appointment of around 90 minutes using DIVA 5, a structured diagnostic interview. Your prescriber asks about your childhood, your current difficulties and how they affect your daily life.

It helps. We ask a parent, sibling or someone who knew you well to complete an informant form. If no one is available, tell us on your call and we will explain your options.

The assessment costs £399. Requesting a callback and speaking with our team is free, and you only pay when you book.

About 2 hours of your time in total. Your written report arrives within 10 working days of your assessment, followed by a results call.

You still receive your full written report and results call. Your prescriber will explain the findings and whether another explanation or type of support should be considered.

Our reports follow NICE guidance, and you can share yours with your GP, employer or place of study. Some NHS services may still ask for their own assessment, so we cannot guarantee acceptance.

That is your choice. Many people stay on their NHS waiting list while having a private assessment, and coming to us does not remove you from it.
