In this guide
01 · EverydayMeds
Where EverydayMeds sits in the comparison
At EverydayMeds the standard price of the Mounjaro pen rises with the dose. A 2.5mg pen is £169.99, 5mg is £189.99, 7.5mg is £244.99, 10mg is £274.99, 12.5mg is £289.99 and 15mg is £299.99. All six doses are in stock.
A new customer's first order is cheaper at any dose: your first 2.5mg pen costs £129.99 with code FIRST40 (standard price £169.99). Switching to us at 15mg? Your first order is £259.99. After that, every later order is £25 off the standard price, applied automatically (code DOSE25). The current discount codes and values are shown live.
02 · Like for like
What to check besides the sticker price
The pen price is only one line of the real cost, so compare the whole service. A lower headline can hide extras at checkout, and a higher one can include reviews and delivery. Use this table as a checklist when you compare any two providers.
| Factor | Why it matters | What to look for |
|---|---|---|
| Dose and pen size | Price rises with strength; comparing 2.5mg with 10mg is meaningless | The same strength, one four-week pen |
| Consultation | Mounjaro is prescription-only | Review by a GPhC-registered prescriber; whether it is free |
| Delivery | Pens need cold-chain handling | Temperature-controlled packaging; whether delivery is free |
| Ongoing reviews | Dose changes need clinical oversight | Monthly reviews included or charged separately |
| Introductory offers | Many apply only to the first month | The standard repeat price, not just the first-order price |
| Supply source | Counterfeit pens exist | A pharmacy you can find on the GPhC register |
At EverydayMeds the consultation is free and the price shown is the price paid, with no hidden fees. Delivery is free and next-day, tracked, in temperature-controlled packaging, and ongoing monthly reviews are part of our aftercare. Saturday delivery is £14.99.
03 · Planning
Planning the cost of a year on Mounjaro
If you step up after 4 weeks on each dose, your first four pens (2.5mg to 10mg) cost £879.96 at standard prices. A first year (52 weeks, 13 pens) costs £2,399.88 if you settle at 5mg, up to £3,279.88 at 15mg. These are standard prices before discounts: a new customer's first order is £40 less, and every later order is £25 less.
If you settle at 7.5mg, 10mg or 12.5mg, your ongoing cost is that dose's monthly price: £244.99, £274.99 or £289.99. Your prescriber decides your maintenance dose, so budget for a range rather than one figure.
Paying monthly is possible: we accept Visa, Mastercard and Klarna, offer pay-monthly options, and there is no subscription. Repeat orders re-check suitability and nothing ships automatically.
04 · Mounjaro versus Wegovy cost
Is Wegovy cheaper than Mounjaro?
Compare the two on live prices, not assumptions. Wegovy's first pen at EverydayMeds is £99.99 as a first order, while your first 2.5mg Mounjaro pen is £129.99 with code FIRST40. The Wegovy and Mounjaro price comparison sets out both side by side, and you can view the Wegovy pen directly.
Starting prices are only part of it, because Wegovy climbs a ladder of 0.25mg, 0.5mg, 1mg, 1.7mg and 2.4mg, stepping up after at least four weeks and reaching the 2.4mg maintenance dose from week 17. Mounjaro also steps up in 2.5mg increments across six strengths. The cost that matters is the one at the dose you stay on.
Price is not the only difference. In SURMOUNT-5, the first large head-to-head trial, adults on tirzepatide lost on average 20.2% of body weight over 72 weeks versus 13.7% on semaglutide 2.4mg (Wegovy).15 Both are effective, licensed treatments; which suits you depends on your health profile, tolerance and prescriber advice, not the headline number alone.15 In STEP 1, adults on Wegovy lost on average 14.9% of body weight over 68 weeks, compared with 2.4% on placebo.9 Trial results are averages and individual results vary.
05 · Cheaper alternatives explained
Which weight loss injection is cheaper than Mounjaro?
Whether another treatment costs less depends on the product, dose and provider on the day, so check live prices rather than relying on a general rule. The licensed weight-management injections are Mounjaro (tirzepatide), Wegovy (semaglutide 2.4mg) and Saxenda (liraglutide). Liraglutide is supplied at 6mg per millilitre and is a daily injection, unlike once-weekly Mounjaro and Wegovy. Figures for Saxenda vary, so your prescriber can advise on its cost and suitability.
Ozempic is not an answer to cost. It is semaglutide licensed for type 2 diabetes, not a UK weight-loss medicine, and prescribing it privately for weight loss is off-label. A regulated UK pharmacy will not supply it for weight loss. So "Mounjaro versus Ozempic" for weight loss is really Mounjaro versus Wegovy.
Two GLP-1 tablets are now licensed in the UK: Wegovy tablets (oral semaglutide), approved by the MHRA in June 2026, and Foundayo (orforglipron), approved in August 2026. They are different medicines from Mounjaro, with their own dosing, eligibility checks and trial results, and both are prescription-only.2021 For prices, see current Wegovy tablet prices on our weight loss treatments page. There is no tablet form of Mounjaro; tirzepatide is injection-only in the UK.
Other licensed options work differently. Orlistat is a tablet that blocks some dietary fat absorption and produces smaller average losses. "Natural GLP-1" supplements such as berberine are not medicines, are not regulated for this use and have no comparable trial evidence.
06 · Cost-cutting that is unsafe
Ways of saving money that are not safe
The only safe savings come from comparing licensed, regulated providers.
07 · Counterfeit risk and price
Why a very low price should worry you
A price far below the rest should make you check who is selling. The MHRA has seized thousands of fake weight-loss pens in the UK and has issued alerts after falsified Mounjaro pens were identified. Fake pens have caused hospitalisations, and some contained insulin rather than tirzepatide.7
Only buy from a pharmacy you can verify on the GPhC register, never from social media, beauty salons or unverified websites. Genuine treatment always involves a prescription and a clinical consultation.7 Anyone offering to supply without a consultation or prescription is a warning sign, whatever the price.
Genuine UK stock is supplied through Lilly's official distribution to licensed pharmacies, and every pen carries a batch number and expiry date that can be checked.1 EverydayMeds sources Mounjaro through official LillyDirect supply, direct from Eli Lilly's UK distribution.
When your pen arrives, it should come cold-chain packaged, and the solution should be clear and colourless. Do not use a pen that has been frozen, looks cloudy or discoloured, has particles in it, is past its expiry, or has been out of the fridge for more than 30 days, or above 30°C in use. In-use pens may be kept at a temperature not above 30°C for up to 30 days; do not use a pen that has been above 30°C. If anything seems wrong, check the pharmacy on the register and contact it before injecting.13
08 · Stretching pens and extra doses
Stretching pens to save money
Mounjaro is licensed as a once-weekly medicine; its blood levels are designed around a 7-day cycle.
Each KwikPen is designed and licensed to deliver exactly four weekly doses. Use the pen as designed, then dispose of it.1
Also avoid combining Mounjaro with other GLP-1 medicines, unlicensed "research" peptides (such as retatrutide, which has no UK licence) or compounded copies; these have no safety data and no regulated supply chain.
09 · NHS versus private
Can you get Mounjaro free on the NHS?
Mounjaro is available on the NHS, but access is being phased in over several years. NICE recommends it for adults with a BMI of at least 35 plus at least one weight-related condition, and the NHS primary-care rollout began in June 2025 with the highest-need groups first, initially BMI 40+ with four or more qualifying conditions.46 Full rollout is expected to take years, which is why many people who meet the licensed criteria choose regulated private treatment rather than waiting.
If you are prescribed Mounjaro through the NHS, the usual prescription charge in England is £9.90 per item, unless you are exempt. Ask your GP whether you fall into a current NHS group. If you do not, regulated private treatment is the alternative. NHS access to Wegovy runs through specialist weight-management services; ask your GP.
10 · Who is eligible to buy
Who can be prescribed Mounjaro privately
Price only matters if you are eligible. Mounjaro is licensed for weight management in adults with a BMI of 30 or above, or a BMI between 27 and 30 with at least one weight-related condition such as high blood pressure, high cholesterol, obstructive sleep apnoea, cardiovascular disease, prediabetes or type 2 diabetes.1 It must be used alongside a reduced-calorie diet and increased physical activity.
A prescriber will assess your BMI, medical history and current medicines before deciding whether it is suitable. Payment is taken when you place the order; if the prescriber decides the treatment is not suitable, the order is refunded automatically in full.
11 · What results to expect
What you are paying for: trial results
Value depends on what the treatment can achieve, so it helps to know the trial figures. In SURMOUNT-1, which enrolled 2,539 adults, people taking tirzepatide alongside diet and exercise lost on average 15% of their body weight on 5mg, 19.5% on 10mg and 20.9% on 15mg over 72 weeks, compared with 3.1% with lifestyle changes alone.2 For someone starting at 100 kg, 20.9% is about 21 kg.
These are trial averages; individual results vary, and treatment works alongside a reduced-calorie diet and increased physical activity, not instead of them. At 72 weeks, 85% of participants on 5mg, 89% on 10mg and 91% on 15mg had lost at least 5% of their body weight.2
Many people settle at a maintenance dose of 5mg, 10mg or 15mg, and higher is not automatically better. Your prescriber chooses the dose that balances effect and tolerance. See our 5mg price comparison for that dose in detail.
12 · Serious side effects
Serious side effects: when to get help straight away
Serious side effects are uncommon but need urgent attention. Seek immediate medical help for: severe, persistent stomach pain that may spread to your back, with or without vomiting (possible pancreatitis); pain in the upper right abdomen, fever or yellowing of skin/eyes (possible gallbladder problems); or signs of a severe allergic reaction such as swelling of the face or throat and difficulty breathing. If you take insulin or a sulfonylurea alongside Mounjaro, watch for low blood sugar (shakiness, sweating, confusion) — your prescriber may need to adjust those medicines.1
13 · How to order with us
How ordering works
Ordering takes three steps. First, complete the free online consultation, a short health questionnaire with no charge and no obligation. Start your free consultation to begin.
Second, a GPhC-registered prescriber reviews your answers. Payment is taken when you place the order; if the prescriber decides the treatment is not suitable, the order is refunded automatically in full. Third, our registered pharmacy dispenses your pen, with same-day dispatch when ordered by 3pm, and free next-day tracked delivery in temperature-controlled, discreet packaging. Needles, a sharps bin and injection guidance come with every order.
Support is available Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm, by email at support@everydaymeds.co.uk, account portal chat or phone on 0333 207 0413. Our free GLPTrackr app helps you track your journey. More comparisons: cheapest Mounjaro UK comparison and weight loss injections compared.
Mounjaro (tirzepatide) is a prescription-only medicine, supplied only after an online consultation reviewed by a GPhC-registered prescriber. Individual results vary. This page is information, not a substitute for medical advice.

Dispensed by our GPhC-registered pharmacy in temperature-controlled packaging with needles and a sharps bin included. Orders approved by 3pm for next-day tracked delivery.
Prescription and dispatch follow clinical approval. Confirm current delivery options when ordering.
