What each Mounjaro dose costs per month

At the starting dose, the 2.5mg pen costs £169.99, and 5mg costs £189.99. Moving up, 7.5mg is £244.99, 10mg is £274.99, 12.5mg is £289.99 and 15mg is £299.99. Per week, that works out at £42.50 at 2.5mg and £75.00 at 15mg.

These are standard prices, and they are what a repeat order costs before discounts. A new customer takes £40 off their first order at any dose with code FIRST40. That includes people moving to us from another provider at a higher strength. After that, an automatic £25 reorder discount applies to every future order (code DOSE25). 02 · Planning the cost

Your first four pens and first year

Most people want a total, not a single pen price. The ladder always starts at 2.5mg and moves up in steps of at least four weeks, depending on how you respond.¹ The table uses standard prices before any discount.

A first year costs £2,399.88 if you settle at 5mg, up to £3,279.88 at 15mg. A new customer's first order is £40 less, and every later order is £25 less. Your Mounjaro weight loss price depends on the strength your prescriber confirms works for you.

What the price includes

The pen price covers a genuine KwikPen from official LillyDirect supply, sourced directly from Eli Lilly's UK distribution. All six doses are in stock. Delivery is free, next-day, tracked and temperature-controlled, and we dispatch the same day when you order by 3pm. Saturday delivery is £14.99. 04 · The dose ladder

The Mounjaro dose ladder, step by step

Everyone starts Mounjaro on 2.5mg once a week, and this dose is about letting your body adjust rather than weight loss itself.¹ After at least 4 weeks the dose increases to 5mg. It can then step up by 2.5mg at a minimum of 4-week intervals (7.5mg, 10mg, 12.5mg) to a maximum of 15mg weekly, depending on how you respond and tolerate it.¹¹¹

Many people settle at a maintenance dose of 5mg, 10mg or 15mg. Each pen contains four weekly doses, which is why the price is quoted per 4-week pen.¹

05 · What each dose delivers

What the dose means for results

In the SURMOUNT-1 trial of 2,539 adults, people taking tirzepatide alongside diet and exercise lost on average 15% of their body weight on 5mg, 19.5% on 10mg and 20.9% on 15mg over 72 weeks, compared with 3.1% with lifestyle changes alone.² These are trial averages and individual results vary. Treatment works alongside a reduced-calorie diet and increased physical activity, not instead of them.²

At 72 weeks, 85% of participants on 5mg, 89% on 10mg and 91% on 15mg had lost at least 5% of their body weight. Half of participants on 10mg and 57% on 15mg lost at least 20%.² As a worked example only, for someone starting at 100 kg, 20.9% is about 21 kg. Trial averages do not predict your own result.

The question is not simply which dose is highest. It is which dose you tolerate and respond to. Your prescriber weighs response and side effects together rather than aiming for the top strength by default.

06 · Pace and review

Realistic pace and when the dose is reviewed

Weight loss on Mounjaro is gradual by design. The first weeks on 2.5mg are an adjustment phase and losses are usually modest, while most measurable progress builds from 5mg onward, month by month.² Trials measured results at 72 weeks, so think in months, not days, and judge progress by trend rather than individual weigh-ins.

Your prescriber reviews response. If you have lost less than 5% of your starting weight after 6 months on the highest dose you can tolerate, they will discuss whether continuing or stopping is right for you.¹

In the first weeks, experiences differ widely. Some people notice appetite change and early loss in week one, others feel little until a higher dose, and both are normal. Early loss includes water weight. Mild nausea, altered appetite and tiredness in the first days after each injection are the commonest early effects and usually settle.¹ Serious side effects are uncommon but need urgent attention: seek immediate medical help for severe, persistent stomach pain that may spread to your back, with or without vomiting (possible pancreatitis); pain in the upper right abdomen, fever or yellowing of skin or eyes (possible gallbladder problems); or signs of a severe allergic reaction such as swelling of the face or throat and difficulty breathing.

Managing cost safely, and what not to do

Mounjaro is licensed as a once-weekly medicine, and its blood levels are designed around a 7-day cycle. Talk to your clinical team rather than self-adjusting.

08 · Genuine pens only

Buying a genuine pen at a fair price

The MHRA has seized thousands of fake weight-loss pens in the UK and has issued alerts after falsified Mounjaro pens were identified. Fake pens have caused hospitalisations, and some contained insulin rather than tirzepatide.⁷ A suspiciously low price from a social media seller, beauty salon or unverified website is a warning sign. Only buy from a pharmacy you can verify on the GPhC register, and note that genuine treatment always involves a prescription and a clinical consultation.¹²

A genuine UK pen comes from a registered pharmacy with a batch number and expiry date, arrives cold-chain packaged, and the solution is clear and colourless. Do not use a pen that has been frozen, looks cloudy or discoloured, has particles in it, is past its expiry, has been above 30°C, or has been out of the fridge for more than 30 days in use.¹³

09 · NHS and private

NHS or private: the honest picture

Mounjaro is available on the NHS, but access is being phased in over several years. NICE recommends it for adults with a BMI of at least 35 plus at least one weight-related condition, and the NHS primary-care rollout began in June 2025 with the highest-need groups first (initially BMI 40+ with four or more qualifying conditions).⁴⁶ Full rollout is expected to take years, which is why many people who meet the licensed criteria choose regulated private treatment rather than waiting.

Privately, Mounjaro is licensed for adults with a BMI of 30 or above, or between 27 and 30 with at least one weight-related condition such as high blood pressure, high cholesterol, obstructive sleep apnoea, cardiovascular disease, prediabetes or type 2 diabetes. It must be used alongside a reduced-calorie diet and increased physical activity.¹
