01 · The short answer
What a Mounjaro comparison site can and cannot tell you
A comparison site can show you which providers charge what for the same pen, and that is genuinely useful. Across the UK pharmacies we track, the cheapest and dearest Mounjaro pen differ by a wide margin, from £143.96 to £339.00 per month across all doses. What a table cannot show is whether the price includes the consultation, delivery, follow-up reviews and a properly sourced pen. Those are the details that decide what you actually pay and what you actually receive.
Our own index covers the UK pharmacies we track and was last checked 11 October 2026. It is a snapshot, not a promise about tomorrow, because prices change. Treat any single comparison page, ours included, as a starting point and confirm the live price at the pharmacy before you commit.
If you want to see our own pricing next to others, our Mounjaro comparison chart lays it out dose by dose. You can also see current Mounjaro pen prices and the consultation directly. Your first 2.5mg pen costs £129.99 with code FIRST40 (standard price £169.99), a first-order price.
02 · Compare like for like
The comparison checklist: eight things to check on any site
Use this table as a filter. If a comparison site cannot answer a row, treat the headline figure with caution.
| Check | Why it matters | What to look for |
|---|---|---|
| Dose compared | A 2.5mg price says nothing about the 10mg or 15mg pen | Same strength, same pen size (4 weeks) |
| Consultation | Some providers charge separately | Whether it is included or free |
| Delivery | Cold-chain shipping can be an add-on | Standard delivery cost and speed |
| Discount type | First-order discounts do not repeat | Price on order two onwards |
| Supply source | Genuine pens matter for safety | Official supply chain, GPhC registration |
| Follow-up | Dose changes need prescriber input | Monthly reviews included or not |
| Stock | A low price is no use if the dose is unavailable | Current availability by dose |
| Date checked | Prices move | A visible check date |
03 · Deciding
Who should compare, and on what
If you are starting treatment, compare the 2.5mg starter pen and the total titration cost, because you will not stay on the starting dose. If you are already on treatment and switching provider, compare the dose you actually take, since a provider that is dearer at 2.5mg may be cheaper at 12.5mg or 15mg, and the reverse. Our new-customer discount of £40 applies to the first order at any dose with code FIRST40, including if you are switching to us at a higher dose.
After the first order, an automatic £25 reorder discount applies to every future order (code DOSE25). That means the figure to compare for long-term cost is the standard price for your dose less £25, not the first-order price. Our lowest UK prices comparison and stock-checked comparison follow the same like-for-like approach.
Price is only one factor. Mounjaro is a prescription-only medicine, supplied after a consultation reviewed by a GPhC-registered prescriber, and it is used alongside a reduced-calorie diet and increased physical activity. Individual results vary.1 A provider that supports you through dose changes and reviews may be worth more to you than a small saving on one pen.
04 · What the price includes
What a quoted Mounjaro price should include
A quoted Mounjaro price should be the total you pay for one 4-week pen, with nothing added at checkout. That sounds obvious, but comparison tables often show a pen price alone, and the consultation, delivery or follow-up appear later. When you compare, ask what is outside the number as well as what is inside it.
Payment is taken when you place the order; if the prescriber decides the treatment is not suitable, the order is refunded automatically in full. Delivery is free next-day tracked delivery in temperature-controlled, discreet packaging, with same-day dispatch when you order by 3pm. Saturday delivery is £14.99. Needles, a sharps bin and injection guidance are included with every order.
Now consider the elements that a one-line price cannot show. First, the clinical review: your order is reviewed by a GPhC-registered prescriber, not a scoring script, and if an order is unsuitable it is refunded automatically. Second, repeat orders re-check suitability, and nothing ships automatically, so you are not locked into a subscription. Third, ongoing monthly reviews, dose titration and follow-up assessments are part of the service, as is side-effect support. If a competitor lists a lower number but charges for any of these separately, the comparison is not like for like.
Payment flexibility is another practical factor that comparison sites rarely capture. We accept Visa and Mastercard, Klarna and pay-monthly options, with no subscriptions. If monthly cashflow matters more to you than the lowest single figure, how a provider lets you pay can be as important as the pen price itself.
Finally, check the date. A table that does not say when it was checked may be months out of date, and Mounjaro pricing has moved before. Our figures are checked and dated, and the live price table on our product page is the one to trust at the moment you order. If you are ready to look at your own options, the free online consultation takes a short health questionnaire, carries no charge and no obligation.
A simple routine works well. Write down the dose, the pen price, the consultation fee, the delivery fee and whether follow-up is included for each provider. Add them up. Then compare the totals, and only then look at discounts, asking in each case whether the discount applies once or on every order. That five-minute exercise removes most of the confusion that comparison pages create, and it protects you from being drawn in by a striking first-order figure that does not describe your second month.
05 · Dose by dose
Why you must compare the same dose
Mounjaro comes in six strengths, so the first rule of comparison is to compare the same strength. Mounjaro (tirzepatide) is a once-weekly injection supplied as a pre-filled multi-dose KwikPen in 2.5mg, 5mg, 7.5mg, 10mg, 12.5mg and 15mg.1 A comparison that mixes a starter pen at one provider with a higher-dose pen at another tells you nothing.
Here is what our index shows across the UK pharmacies we track, checked 11 October 2026. The cheapest and dearest Mounjaro pen across all doses and providers run from £143.96 to £339.00 per month. For the 2.5mg starting pen alone, the range is £143.96 to £179.99. For the same dose, the gap between providers runs from £27 at its smallest to £41 at its largest. Boots' own Mounjaro dose prices run from £179.00 to £339.00.
These numbers matter in two ways. They show that provider choice can change your monthly cost noticeably, and they show that a low price at one dose does not predict the price at another. If you expect to move up the dose ladder, compare at the doses you are likely to reach, not just the first.
Our own standard prices per pen are £169.99 at 2.5mg, £218.99 at 5mg, £279.99 at 7.5mg, £290.99 at 10mg, £319.99 at 12.5mg and £329.99 at 15mg. Those are standard prices before discounts. Per week, that works out at £42.50, £54.75, £70.00, £72.75, £80.00 and £82.50 respectively. Weekly figures are helpful for comparing against other costs, but remember that you buy a pen for four weeks, so the monthly figure is what leaves your account.
What matters is what the pen at your prescribed dose costs. Your prescriber chooses and adjusts that dose, and a comparison site cannot do it for you.
If you are switching provider at a higher dose, make sure the comparison reflects your current strength. Switching at 15mg? Your first order with us is £289.99, a first-order price.
06 · Cost over a year
What a year of Mounjaro costs
A first year of Mounjaro costs £2,711.88 if you settle at 5mg, up to £3,599.88 at 15mg, at our standard prices before any discount. Those totals cover 52 weeks, or 13 pens. A new customer's first order is £40 less, and every later order is £25 less than the standard price.
Why work out a year at all? Because a monthly price on a comparison site invites you to judge treatment on its cheapest month, usually the starter pen. The starter pen is not where you will spend most of your time. Treatment moves up in steps, and the dose you settle on decides your long-term spend.
| Stage | Duration | Cost at standard prices |
|---|---|---|
| First year, settling at 5mg | 52 weeks, 13 pens | £2,711.88 |
| First year, settling at 15mg | 52 weeks, 13 pens | £3,599.88 |
| Settling at 7.5mg | per 4-week pen | £279.99 |
| Settling at 10mg | per 4-week pen | £290.99 |
| Settling at 12.5mg | per 4-week pen | £319.99 |
For maintenance doses other than 5mg and 15mg, use the monthly price in the table rather than a year figure. Your own total will depend on the dose your prescriber advises and how long you stay on treatment, which is a clinical decision, not a pricing one.
When you compare year costs between providers, ask three questions. Does the provider's discount apply to the first order only, or to every order? Is the quoted figure before or after that discount? And are there any recurring charges outside the pen price? Our answers are plain: a first-order discount of £40 with code FIRST40, then an automatic £25 off every later order (code DOSE25), no subscription and no charge for the consultation.
One more point on planning: do not choose a dose, or a provider, to hit a budget. Dose is set by your prescriber based on your response and tolerance, and going up or down is part of the monthly review. A comparison chart can help you plan, and our private Mounjaro price comparison shows the maths in more detail. Prices were checked 11 October 2026.
07 · Why prices differ
Why Mounjaro prices differ between pharmacies
Mounjaro prices differ between pharmacies because of the list price Eli Lilly sets and the confidential discounts it gives individual providers. The list price rose sharply in 2025, and that is the context behind most comparison-site tables today.
Eli Lilly announced a UK list-price increase for Mounjaro on 14 August 2025, effective 1 September 2025. Pharmacies buy at different terms, so their sell prices vary, even though the pen is identical.
This explains something that confuses many readers of comparison tables: two providers can supply exactly the same genuine KwikPen at quite different prices. The difference is not necessarily quality. It may reflect purchasing terms, how much margin a pharmacy takes, whether the consultation and delivery are folded in, and how aggressively it discounts a first order. It can also reflect which doses are in demand.
It also explains why a figure from before September 2025 is not a reliable guide. If a page quotes prices without a check date, or quotes prices that sit near the old list-price range, treat it as out of date and confirm on the provider's own site. Our prices are shown live through the product page, and our index is dated 11 October 2026.
What you can do is compare at the point you order, take the discounts that genuinely apply and avoid paying for extras you do not need.
Supply matters here too. Our Mounjaro comes through official LillyDirect supply, direct from Eli Lilly's UK distribution, as genuine KwikPens, and all six doses are stocked, currently in stock. If a provider is far below the rest of the market for the same pen, that is a prompt to ask more questions about where the stock comes from, not a reason to celebrate. The Mounjaro comparison website guide goes into how to read a price table with this in mind.
In practice, the best use of a comparison site is to narrow your list to two or three providers, then compare their full terms. Do not simply pick the lowest line in the table. Look at the date, the dose, the discount rules, what a repeat order costs and how the provider supports you after dispatch. That is the difference between a bargain and a false economy.
08 · NHS or private
NHS or private: the honest comparison
Mounjaro is available on the NHS, but access is being phased in over several years, so many people who meet the licensed criteria weigh it against private treatment. NICE recommends it for adults with a BMI of at least 35 plus at least one weight-related condition, and the NHS primary-care rollout began in June 2025 with the highest-need groups first, initially BMI 40+ with four or more qualifying conditions.46 Full rollout is expected to take years.
That context shapes how you should read any comparison site. A table of private prices answers one question: what will a regulated private provider charge? It does not answer whether you could receive treatment through the NHS. If you think you may qualify, speak to your GP, who can tell you where your local area is in the rollout. The NHS guide to tirzepatide is also a useful reference.5
For an NHS prescription in England, the standard prescription charge is £9.90 per item, though whether this applies to a weight-management prescription depends on your circumstances, so check with your GP or pharmacist.
Why do people choose private treatment while the NHS rollout continues? Usually because they meet the licensed criteria but are not yet in an NHS priority group, and they do not want to wait. That is a personal decision, and it is a fair one if the provider is regulated, supplies genuine pens and supports you clinically.
If you go private, the same safeguards apply as in any prescription: a consultation reviewed by a GPhC-registered prescriber, repeat checks of suitability, and ongoing reviews. You do not give up clinical oversight by paying privately; you should be getting it. If you later become eligible for NHS treatment, tell your prescriber so they can help you plan a safe transition and avoid any overlap of GLP-1 medicines.
One practical point when comparing: NHS pathways and private pathways do not run in parallel. Do not hold two prescriptions for GLP-1 medicines at once. Mounjaro must not be combined with other GLP-1 medicines, and your prescriber needs a full picture of what you take.1 If you want to know how our process compares with a typical private route, see our guide to the Mounjaro application, and remember that the consultation is free and carries no obligation.
Think of NHS and private as two lanes that may merge, not rival products. A comparison site covers the private lane well. For the NHS lane, your GP is the authority, and the situation is changing as the rollout widens.
09 · Cheaper alternatives
Is there a cheaper alternative to Mounjaro?
There are other licensed weight-management medicines, but a cheaper price does not make them equivalent, and the right choice depends on your health profile and prescriber advice. There is no tablet form of Mounjaro, because tirzepatide is injection-only in the UK.
The licensed weight-management options are Mounjaro (tirzepatide) and Wegovy (semaglutide 2.4mg). Ozempic is semaglutide licensed for type 2 diabetes, not a UK weight-loss medicine, and prescribing it privately for weight loss is off-label, so a regulated UK pharmacy will not supply it for weight loss. If a site compares "Mounjaro vs Ozempic" for weight loss, it is really comparing Mounjaro with Wegovy.
For the head-to-head evidence, SURMOUNT-5 enrolled 751 adults on tirzepatide or semaglutide 2.4mg for 72 weeks. Average weight loss was 20.2% on tirzepatide versus 13.7% on semaglutide, or 22.8 kg versus 15.0 kg; individual results vary.15 At least 10% of body weight was lost by 81.6% versus 60.5%, and at least 20% by 48.4% versus 27.3%. Both are effective, licensed treatments, and which suits you depends on your health, tolerance and prescriber advice, not the headline number alone. In STEP 1, adults on semaglutide 2.4mg lost an average of 14.9% over 68 weeks versus 2.4% on placebo.9 Wegovy's licensed dose ladder runs 0.25mg, 0.5mg, 1mg, 1.7mg and 2.4mg, stepping up after at least 4 weeks to reach 2.4mg from week 17. Our Wegovy pen page shows current pricing, with a first pen from £99.99, a first-order price.
Two GLP-1 weight-loss tablets are now licensed in the UK: Wegovy tablets (oral semaglutide), approved by the MHRA in June 2026, and Foundayo (orforglipron, from Eli Lilly), approved in August 2026. They are different medicines from Mounjaro with their own dosing, eligibility checks and trial results, and both are prescription-only. For current Wegovy tablet prices, see our product pages and the weight loss treatments hub.
Other options work differently. Orlistat is a tablet that blocks some dietary fat absorption and produces smaller average losses, and Saxenda (liraglutide) is a daily injection, unlike once-weekly Mounjaro and Wegovy; liraglutide is supplied at 6mg per millilitre. Figures vary, so your prescriber can advise on each.
"Natural GLP-1" supplements such as berberine are low-cost supplements with no clinical oversight. They are not medicines, are not regulated for this use and have no comparable trial evidence. Cheap is not the same as equivalent.
Finally, be wary of anything that promises faster results outside a licensed pathway. Mounjaro must not be combined with other GLP-1 medicines, unlicensed research peptides (such as retatrutide, which has no UK licence) or compounded copies; these have no safety data and no regulated supply chain.
10 · Safe sellers
Spotting safe providers on a comparison site
A safe Mounjaro provider is a registered UK pharmacy that supplies only after a prescriber-reviewed consultation, so start every comparison by checking registration. Price tables tend to rank by cost, but a very low price from an unregistered seller can mean a counterfeit or unlicensed product, which is a safety risk, not a saving.
First, verify the pharmacy on the GPhC public register.12 EverydayMeds is GPhC-registered under number 9012878, and you can look it up on the regulator's site. Second, expect a consultation: Mounjaro is a prescription-only medicine, and any seller offering to supply without a consultation or prescription is a warning sign. Third, look for information on supply. We source through official LillyDirect supply, directly from Eli Lilly's UK distribution, as genuine KwikPens.
The MHRA publishes counterfeit medicine alerts, and it runs the Yellow Card scheme, where you can report any suspected side effect or suspect product.719 If something about a pen looks wrong, do not use it; contact the pharmacy and consider a Yellow Card report.
Also look at how a comparison site makes money. Many are paid by the providers they list, and the order of results may reflect that. This is not a reason to ignore them, but it is a reason to cross-check with the provider's own page and the regulator's register. A table that lists no check date, no dose and no description of what is included deserves less trust.
Another sign of quality is what happens after you order. We run ongoing monthly reviews, dose titration and follow-up assessments, and side-effect support, so you are not left alone with a pen. Support is available Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm, by email at support@everydaymeds.co.uk, through our account portal chat or by phone on 0333 207 0413. If you want an app to log your doses and progress, GLPTrackr is our free companion for iOS and Android.

How ordering works
How ordering works at EverydayMeds
Three steps, with our pharmacy team alongside you.
Step 1: Online consultation — 5–10 minutes
Complete a confidential health questionnaire covering BMI, medical history and current medication. No payment is taken until you're approved.
Step 2: Prescriber review — usually same day
A UK registered prescriber checks your suitability against the licensed criteria (BMI ≥30, or ≥27 with a weight-related condition) and contraindications, and confirms your starting dose.
Step 3: Next-day tracked delivery
Dispensed by our GPhC-registered pharmacy in temperature-controlled packaging with needles and a sharps bin included. Orders approved by 3pm for next-day tracked delivery.
Prescription and dispatch follow clinical approval. Confirm current delivery options when ordering.
Afterwards you're not on your own: dose-change reviews are built in before each step up, our pharmacist team is available for side-effect questions, and repeat orders re-check suitability rather than auto-shipping.
