What Mounjaro costs now

A Mounjaro pen costs £169.99 at 2.5mg, £189.99 at 5mg, £244.99 at 7.5mg, £274.99 at 10mg, £289.99 at 12.5mg and £299.99 at 15mg. Each figure is the standard price of one pen, which is four weekly doses. You can see them and start from the Mounjaro pen page.

Doses are in stock, so you can start at whichever strength a prescriber judges suitable. In the weekly view, that works out as £42.50 per week at 2.5mg, £47.50 at 5mg and £75.00 at 15mg.

A new customer's first order is £40 less at any dose with code FIRST40. That includes people moving to us from another provider on a higher dose. What actually changed in September

Eli Lilly announced on 14 August 2025 that it would raise the UK list price of Mounjaro, effective 1 September 2025.¹⁰

List price is not the same as what you pay a pharmacy. Pharmacy sell prices vary because of confidential discounts, which is why two providers can charge different amounts for the same pen. Our own prices are shown live rather than copied from the list.

03 · Planning

Planning your cost over a year

Most people start at 2.5mg and step up in stages, so the monthly cost changes as the dose does. If you step up after 4 weeks on each dose, your first four pens (2.5mg to 10mg) cost £879.96 at standard prices. A new customer's first order is £40 less, and every later order £25 less.

If you settle at another strength, the monthly figure is the one to plan with: £244.99 at 7.5mg, £274.99 at 10mg or £289.99 at 12.5mg. Your prescriber chooses your maintenance dose based on how you respond, not on price, so treat these as a range rather than a forecast.

How to save money on Mounjaro safely

The safest savings are the discounts and a like-for-like comparison. There are no subscriptions, and Klarna and pay-monthly options can spread the cost.

Mounjaro is licensed as a once-weekly medicine; its blood levels are designed around a 7-day cycle. Talk to your clinical team rather than self-adjusting.

05 · Avoiding fake pens

Why the cheapest-looking offer can cost you more

A price far below the rest of the market is a warning sign, not a bargain. The MHRA has seized thousands of fake weight-loss pens in the UK and has issued alerts after falsified Mounjaro pens were identified. Fake pens have caused hospitalisations, and some contained insulin rather than tirzepatide.⁷

Only buy from a pharmacy you can verify on the GPhC register, never from social media, beauty salons or unverified websites. Genuine treatment always involves a prescription and a clinical consultation, so avoid anyone offering to supply without a consultation or prescription.⁷ We are GPhC-registered (9012878) and supply Mounjaro direct from Eli Lilly's UK distribution through official LillyDirect supply, with all six doses stocked.

A genuine UK pen comes from a registered pharmacy with a batch number and expiry date, and arrives cold-chain packaged. The solution inside is clear and colourless. Do not use a pen that has been frozen, looks cloudy or discoloured, has particles in it, is past its expiry, or has been out of the fridge for more than 30 days in use (kept not above 30°C). If anything seems wrong, check the pharmacy on the GPhC register and contact it before injecting.¹³

06 · NHS or private

NHS or private: which route costs what

Mounjaro is available on the NHS, but access is being phased in over several years. NICE recommends it for adults with a BMI of at least 35 plus at least one weight-related condition. The NHS primary-care rollout began in June 2025 with the highest-need groups first, initially BMI 40+ with four or more qualifying conditions.⁴⁶ Full rollout is expected to take years, which is why many people who meet the licensed criteria choose regulated private treatment rather than waiting.

If you are prescribed Mounjaro through the NHS you would pay the standard NHS prescription charge in England, unless you are exempt. Whether you qualify depends on your local service, so ask your GP. Private treatment has no eligibility queue, but a prescriber still has to judge it suitable for you.

Licensed eligibility for weight management is a BMI of 30 or above, or a BMI between 27 and 30 with at least one weight-related condition such as high blood pressure, high cholesterol, obstructive sleep apnoea, cardiovascular disease, prediabetes or type 2 diabetes. It must be used alongside a reduced-calorie diet and increased physical activity.¹¹¹

What the money buys

Mounjaro is the brand name for tirzepatide, a once-weekly injectable made by Eli Lilly, licensed in the UK for weight management in adults and for type 2 diabetes. It comes as a multi-dose KwikPen in six strengths: 2.5mg, 5mg, 7.5mg, 10mg, 12.5mg and 15mg.

In the SURMOUNT-1 trial of 2,539 adults, people taking tirzepatide alongside diet and exercise lost on average 15% of their body weight on 5mg, 19.5% on 10mg and 20.9% on 15mg over 72 weeks, compared with 3.1% with lifestyle changes alone. Individual results vary. For someone starting at 100 kg, 20.9% is about 21 kg.² These are trial averages, and treatment works alongside a reduced-calorie diet and increased physical activity, not instead of them.

Tirzepatide activates two gut-hormone receptors at once, GIP and GLP-1, which helps regulate appetite and slows how quickly the stomach empties. Most people feel fuller sooner and less hungry between meals.¹ It has a half-life of about five days, so after a final dose it takes roughly 4–5 weeks to clear the system.¹
