01 · Private price

What Mounjaro costs per month in the UK

On a private prescription, the Mounjaro pen costs £169.99 per month at 2.5mg, £218.99 at 5mg, £279.99 at 7.5mg, £290.99 at 10mg, £319.99 at 12.5mg and £329.99 at 15mg. These are standard prices for one pen, which is four weekly doses. They are what every repeat order costs before the reorder discount.

Put weekly, that is £42.50 at 2.5mg, £54.75 at 5mg, £70.00 at 7.5mg, £72.75 at 10mg, £80.00 at 12.5mg and £82.50 at 15mg. Weekly figures help if you compare with a daily-injection or tablet treatment, but you always buy by the four-week pen.

Your first 2.5mg pen costs £129.99 with code FIRST40 (standard price £169.99). Switching to us at 15mg? Your first order is £289.99. After that, every later order is £25 off the standard price of your dose, and the code is DOSE25. Our current discount code details explain how both discounts show at checkout.

The consultation is free, the price shown is the price paid, and there are no hidden fees. Free next-day tracked delivery in temperature-controlled packaging is included. Saturday delivery is £14.99. Payment is taken when you place the order; if a GPhC-registered prescriber decides the treatment is not suitable, the order is refunded automatically in full.

02 · Budgeting

Planning your cost: titration, then maintenance

Most people do not stay on 2.5mg, so the starting price is not your long-term cost. Treatment starts at 2.5mg and steps up through the dose range, as agreed with your prescriber. Your maintenance dose then sets the monthly figure you carry forward.

PhaseLengthPensStandard cost (before discounts)
First year settling at 5mg52 weeks13£2,711.88
First year settling at 15mg52 weeks13£3,599.88

These totals are at standard prices. A new customer's first order is £40 less, and every later order is £25 less. If you settle at 7.5mg, 10mg or 12.5mg, your monthly cost is £279.99, £290.99 or £319.99 respectively, before the reorder discount.

The dose you need is a clinical decision, not a budget one. Your prescriber reviews progress, side effects and suitability each month. Higher is not automatically better, and your prescriber will guide the right pace.

03 · Market context

How this compares across the pharmacies we track

Prices differ between providers, so it is worth comparing like for like. Across the UK pharmacies we track (checked 11 October 2026), a Mounjaro pen ranges from £143.96 to £339.00 per month across all doses. The 2.5mg starting pen alone ranges from £143.96 to £179.99.

What we comparedLowestHighest
Any Mounjaro pen, any dose (per month)£143.96£339.00
2.5mg starting pen (per month)£143.96£179.99
Boots, lowest to highest dose (per month)£179.00£339.00
Gap between providers for the same dose£27£41

For the same dose, the gap between providers runs from £27 to £41 per month in our index. Over a year, that gap adds up. Compare the dose you expect to settle at, not only the starting pen, and check whether a headline price is a first-order price or the ongoing one.

04 · Why prices changed

Why Mounjaro prices rose in 2025

Eli Lilly raised the UK list price of Mounjaro, effective 1 September 2025, after announcing it on 14 August 2025.10

Pharmacy sell prices still vary between providers, because pharmacies negotiate confidential discounts. That is why a single quoted market average rarely matches what you will actually pay.

The practical point is simple: budget from today's live price for the dose you need, and not from older figures you may have seen.

05 · NHS or private?

NHS or private: which route costs you what

Mounjaro is available on the NHS, but access is being phased in over several years.6 NICE recommends it for adults with a BMI of at least 35 plus at least one weight-related condition.4 The NHS primary-care rollout began in June 2025 with the highest-need groups first, initially BMI 40+ with four or more qualifying conditions.6

If you are offered it on the NHS, you pay the standard prescription charge in England, which is £9.90 per item, unless you are exempt. Full rollout is expected to take years, which is why many people who meet the licensed criteria choose regulated private treatment rather than waiting.6

The honest comparison is cost against waiting time and eligibility. The NHS route costs far less per month if you qualify and can get a place. The private route costs more but can start once a prescriber confirms that Mounjaro is suitable for you. Ask your GP about your local position before deciding.

06 · Who it is for

Who can get Mounjaro privately

Mounjaro is licensed for weight management in adults with a BMI of 30 or above, or a BMI between 27 and 30 with at least one weight-related condition such as high blood pressure, high cholesterol, obstructive sleep apnoea, cardiovascular disease, prediabetes or type 2 diabetes.1 It must be used alongside a reduced-calorie diet and increased physical activity.1

A prescriber assesses your BMI, medical history and current medicines before deciding whether it is suitable.11 That review is part of what you pay for, and it is why a free online consultation comes before any charge. If the prescriber decides Mounjaro is not right for you, the order is refunded automatically in full.

Mounjaro is also licensed for type 2 diabetes.1 If you have diabetes, your NHS diabetes team is the first place to ask about funded treatment, and your prescriber will want to know about any other diabetes medicines you take.

07 · What you get for the price

What the monthly price includes

The price covers the medicine, the clinical review and delivery, so there is little to add on top.

  • Official LillyDirect supply: Mounjaro comes direct from Eli Lilly's UK distribution as genuine KwikPens, and all six doses from 2.5mg to 15mg are in stock.
  • Free consultation: a short health questionnaire, reviewed by a GPhC-registered prescriber, with no charge and no obligation.
  • Free next-day tracked delivery: discreet, temperature-controlled packaging, with same-day dispatch when you order by 3pm.
  • Ongoing monthly reviews: dose titration, follow-up assessments and side-effect support from the prescribing team.
  • Needles, a sharps bin and injection guidance with every order.

You can pay by Visa or Mastercard, with Klarna, or through pay-monthly options. There are no subscriptions, and repeat orders re-check suitability, so nothing ships automatically. Our free GLPTrackr app helps you log doses and progress on iOS and Android.

08 · Value for money

What the cost buys: trial results

In the SURMOUNT-1 trial of 2,539 adults, people taking tirzepatide alongside diet and exercise lost on average 15% of their body weight on 5mg, 19.5% on 10mg and 20.9% on 15mg over 72 weeks, compared with 3.1% with lifestyle changes alone.2 These are trial averages, and individual results vary. Treatment works alongside a reduced-calorie diet and increased physical activity, not instead of them.

For someone starting at 100 kg, 15% is about 15 kg and 20.9% is about 21 kg. At 72 weeks, 85% of participants on 5mg, 89% on 10mg and 91% on 15mg had lost at least 5% of their body weight.2

The trial figures differ by dose, but your prescriber decides your dose from your response and tolerance, not from the table.

09 · Ways to cut the cost safely

Ways to lower the cost safely

The safe levers are the discounts and the provider. Use the new-customer discount of £40 on your first order with code FIRST40, then the automatic £25 reorder discount. Compare the same dose across providers.

10 · Avoiding fake pens

Why a very low price should worry you

An unusually low price is a warning sign, not a bargain. The MHRA has seized thousands of fake weight-loss pens in the UK and has issued alerts after falsified Mounjaro pens were identified.7 Fake pens have caused hospitalisations, and some contained insulin rather than tirzepatide.7

Only buy from a pharmacy you can find on the GPhC register, never from social media, beauty salons or unverified websites.12 Genuine treatment always involves a prescription and a clinical consultation. Anyone offering to supply without a consultation or prescription is not operating legitimately.

A genuine UK pen comes from a registered pharmacy with a batch number and expiry date, arrives cold-chain packaged, and the solution inside is clear and colourless.13 Do not use a pen that has been frozen, looks cloudy or discoloured, has particles in it, is past its expiry, has been above 30°C, or has been in use out of the fridge for more than 30 days. If anything about supply or packaging seems wrong, contact the pharmacy before injecting.

11 · Other options and how to order

Other treatments, and how ordering works

Mounjaro is not the only licensed option. Wegovy (semaglutide) is a once-weekly injection whose pens run 0.25mg, 0.5mg, 1mg, 1.7mg and 2.4mg, stepping up after at least four weeks to the 2.4mg maintenance dose from week 17.18 Your first Wegovy pen costs £99.99 as a first-order price. Tablet treatments are also available, and you can see current prices on our weight loss treatments page. Our guide to the Mounjaro pill question explains why there is no tablet version to price today.

If you decide to go ahead with Mounjaro, ordering takes three steps:

  • Complete the free consultation. Answer a short health questionnaire, with no charge and no obligation.
  • Prescriber review. A GPhC-registered prescriber reviews your answers. Payment is taken when you place the order; if the prescriber decides the treatment is not suitable, the order is refunded automatically in full.
  • Dispatch and delivery. Our registered pharmacy dispenses, with same-day dispatch when you order by 3pm and free next-day tracked delivery.

Start your free consultation when you are ready. Support is available Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm, on 0333 207 0413 or at support@everydaymeds.co.uk. Mounjaro (tirzepatide) is a prescription-only medicine, supplied only after an online consultation reviewed by a GPhC-registered prescriber. It is used alongside a reduced-calorie diet and increased physical activity. Individual results vary, and this page is information, not a substitute for medical advice.
