A quick overview

What to know
before you start.

  • One pen is one month: a KwikPen holds four weekly doses, so the monthly cost is simply the price of your current dose.
  • Starting at 2.5mg costs £169.99 a month; the top 15mg dose costs £299.99 a month, both at standard prices.
  • Across the UK pharmacies we track, a Mounjaro pen ranges from £143.96 to £319.99 (checked 25 October 2026).
  • Your cost changes as your dose changes: if you step up after 4 weeks on each dose, your first four pens (2.5mg to 10mg) cost £879.96 at standard prices, then plan for your maintenance dose.
  • Be wary of unusually low prices: only buy from a pharmacy you can verify on the GPhC register.
In this guide

01 · The short answer

What does one month of Mounjaro cost?

A month of Mounjaro costs the price of one pen, and that price depends on the strength you are prescribed. Our Mounjaro pen starts at £169.99 for 2.5mg. The 5mg pen is £189.99 and the 7.5mg pen is £244.99. The 10mg pen is £274.99, the 12.5mg pen is £289.99 and the 15mg pen is £299.99. These are standard prices for one 4-week pen, and all six doses are in stock.

Per week, that works out at £42.50 at 2.5mg and £47.50 at 5mg. It is £61.25 at 7.5mg, £68.75 at 10mg, £72.50 at 12.5mg and £75.00 at 15mg.

Your first order is cheaper. A new customer gets £40 off the first order at any dose with code FIRST40, so your first 2.5mg pen costs £129.99 (standard price £169.99). Switching to us at 15mg? Your first order is £259.99. After that, an automatic £25 reorder discount applies to every future order (code DOSE25).

02 · What you pay for

What the monthly price includes

The price shown is the price paid. The consultation is free, and there are no hidden fees. Delivery is free, next-day, tracked and temperature-controlled, in discreet packaging. Saturday delivery is £14.99. Orders placed by 3pm are dispatched the same day.

Needles, a sharps bin and injection guidance come with every order. Ongoing monthly reviews, dose-titration and side-effect support from our prescribing team are also part of the service. We supply genuine KwikPens directly through official LillyDirect supply, and all six doses from 2.5mg to 15mg are stocked.

Payment is by Visa or Mastercard, Klarna or pay-monthly options. There are no subscriptions, and repeat orders re-check suitability rather than auto-shipping. You choose when to reorder and you can stop whenever you and your prescriber agree it is right.

03 · Planning ahead

Planning beyond month one

Month one is not your ongoing monthly cost, because Mounjaro is increased in steps. If you step up after 4 weeks on each dose, your first four pens (2.5mg to 10mg) cost £879.96 at standard prices. Your first order is £40 less and every later order £25 less. The table shows the first-year picture at standard prices.

StagePensCost at standard prices
First year if you settle at 5mg13£2,399.88
First year if you settle at 15mg13£3,279.88
Settling at 7.5mg, 10mg or 12.5mg1 per 4 weeks£244.99, £274.99 or £289.99 a month

A first year costs £2,399.88 if you settle at 5mg, up to £3,279.88 at 15mg. Not everyone needs the top dose, so your prescriber reviews your response before each step.

04 · What a month covers

What one pen and one month actually mean

One month of Mounjaro means one KwikPen, which is designed and licensed to deliver exactly four weekly doses.1 Mounjaro is the brand name for tirzepatide, a once-weekly injectable prescription medicine made by Eli Lilly. In the UK it is licensed for weight management in adults and for type 2 diabetes, and it comes in six strengths: 2.5mg, 5mg, 7.5mg, 10mg, 12.5mg and 15mg.1

The monthly figure is the price of the pen for your dose. There is no separate per-injection fee, and you do not pay a different amount for week one and week four.

Because the monthly price is tied to your dose, a useful way to think about cost is in phases. The early phase is the starting dose, then a stepped increase. Finally comes a maintenance dose you may stay on. Prescribers increase the dose gradually. Your plan will therefore cost slightly more each month at first, then level off once you reach the dose that works for you.

It also helps to know what is being dispensed. Tirzepatide activates two natural gut-hormone receptors, GIP and GLP-1, which help regulate appetite, slow how quickly the stomach empties, and improve the way the body responds to insulin.1 In practice, most people feel fuller sooner and less hungry between meals, which supports a reduced-calorie diet. Mounjaro is used alongside a reduced-calorie diet and increased physical activity, and the monthly price covers the medicine and the clinical oversight, not a shortcut around those habits.

If you are comparing GLP-1 medicines more broadly, our overview of how GLP-1 medicines cost each month sets the different treatments side by side.

05 · Cost by dose phase

Why the monthly cost changes as your dose rises

Treatment begins at 2.5mg, which is an adjustment phase rather than a dose most people stay on. The 2.5mg starter pen costs £169.99 at standard prices, and your first one is £129.99 with code FIRST40. If you want a closer look at that first month, see our page on the 2.5mg starter pen price.

From there the ladder is 5mg, 7.5mg, 10mg, 12.5mg and 15mg. Prices rise by strength, but you only pay for the pen you are actually prescribed. Many people stop climbing before the top of the ladder, and your prescriber reviews response and tolerability before each step.

  • Starting phase: the 2.5mg pen at £169.99 a month, standard price.
  • Early build-up: the 5mg pen at £189.99 and the 7.5mg pen at £244.99.
  • Higher doses: the 10mg pen at £274.99, the 12.5mg pen at £289.99 and the 15mg pen at £299.99.

For a three-month budget, assume your first three pens are 2.5mg, 5mg and 7.5mg on a standard titration. That is £169.99, then £189.99, then £244.99 at standard prices, with £40 off the first order and £25 off each later one. Your own schedule may differ, because the prescriber sets the pace.

Switching from another provider? The new-customer discount applies to a first order at any dose, so a 15mg first order is £259.99. Your prescriber will still review your history and decide which dose is appropriate. For a private-pay view of the whole journey, our private monthly cost guide goes into more detail.

Costs depend on the dose you need, not on how quickly you want results. Taking a higher dose than prescribed does not speed things up.

06 · The 2025 price rise

Why Mounjaro prices went up in September 2025

Mounjaro prices rose because Eli Lilly increased the UK list price. Lilly announced the increase on 14 August 2025, effective 1 September 2025.

That is the main reason older figures you may see online no longer match what pharmacies charge today. If a page quotes prices from before September 2025, it is out of date. Anyone asking how much Mounjaro costs from September should know that the new list structure applies and that the increase was steepest at higher doses.

List price is not the same as what you pay at a pharmacy. Pharmacy sell prices vary because of confidential discounts, which is why the same dose can cost different amounts at different providers. Across the UK pharmacies we track, the gap between providers for the same dose runs from £20 to £36.03 (checked 25 October 2026). Our own prices are shown live with 25 October 2026 as the check date, so they stay current when anything changes.

What this means for you in practice:

  • Use a current, dated price rather than a figure from an older article.
  • Compare the same dose across providers, never a starter pen against a maintenance pen.
  • Check what is included: consultation, delivery, reviews and support.
  • Look at the whole plan, not only month one.

Higher doses carry a larger share of the increase, which is why planning matters more if you expect to move up the ladder.

If you are reading this from Northern Ireland or elsewhere in the UK, the same private pricing logic applies. Our page on Northern Ireland pricing covers local questions.

07 · NHS versus private

NHS or private: what each route costs and who qualifies

Mounjaro is available on the NHS, but access is being phased in over several years. NICE recommends it for adults with a BMI of at least 35 plus at least one weight-related condition. The NHS primary-care rollout began in June 2025 with the highest-need groups first, initially BMI 40+ with four or more qualifying conditions.46 Full rollout is expected to take years, which is why many people who meet the licensed criteria choose regulated private treatment rather than waiting.

On the NHS you pay only the standard prescription charge, which is £9.90 in England where it applies, but you must fall within the current rollout group. Privately you pay the monthly pen price, with no waiting for a place, and treatment is supervised by a prescriber.

Can people with diabetes get Mounjaro on the NHS? Mounjaro is licensed for type 2 diabetes, and NICE has a separate appraisal for that use (TA924).8 Whether it is prescribed to you depends on your clinical team and local pathways, so the right first step is to ask your GP or diabetes team.

Privately, the licensed criteria are wider. Mounjaro is licensed for weight management in adults with a BMI of 30 or above, or a BMI between 27 and 30 with at least one weight-related condition such as high blood pressure, high cholesterol, obstructive sleep apnoea, cardiovascular disease, prediabetes or type 2 diabetes. It must be used alongside a reduced-calorie diet and increased physical activity.1 A prescriber will assess your BMI, medical history and current medicines before deciding whether it is suitable for you.

If you are weighing the two routes, a fair way to decide is:

  • If you may fall within the current NHS group, ask your GP first.
  • If you do not, or do not want to wait, a private route is an option if you meet the licensed criteria.
  • Whichever route, treatment should be reviewed by a prescriber regularly.

When choosing a private pharmacy, check it on the GPhC register12. Ours is registration 9012878. Our free consultation is a short health questionnaire reviewed by a GPhC-registered prescriber, with no charge and no obligation. You can start it from our free consultation page.

08 · Spotting unsafe low prices

Why a very low price should make you cautious

A price far below the rest of the market is a warning sign, not a bargain. The MHRA has seized thousands of fake weight-loss pens in the UK and has issued alerts after falsified Mounjaro pens were identified. Fake pens have caused hospitalisations, and some contained insulin rather than tirzepatide.7

Only buy from a pharmacy you can verify on the GPhC register, never from social media, beauty salons or unverified websites. Genuine treatment always involves a prescription and a clinical consultation. Anyone offering to supply without a consultation or prescription is not a legitimate route, whatever the price.7

Genuine UK stock is supplied through Lilly's official distribution to licensed pharmacies, and every pen carries a batch number and expiry date that can be checked.1 Our Mounjaro comes direct from Eli Lilly's UK distribution through official LillyDirect supply. For a deeper look at what an authentic purchase looks like, see our guide to the authentic Mounjaro monthly cost.

Check your pen when it arrives. A genuine pen comes from a registered pharmacy with a batch number and expiry date, arrives cold-chain packaged, and the solution inside is clear and colourless. Do not use a pen that has been frozen, looks cloudy or discoloured, has particles in it, is past its expiry, or has been above 30°C or out of the fridge for more than 30 days in use. If supply or packaging ever seems wrong, check the pharmacy on the GPhC register and contact the pharmacy before injecting.13

Trying to cut the monthly bill by other means is also unsafe. Mounjaro is licensed as a once-weekly medicine, and its blood levels are designed around a 7-day cycle. Talk to your clinical team rather than self-adjusting.

Finally, be cautious with products marketed as a natural alternative. Low-cost supplements with dramatic weight-loss claims have no clinical oversight and are not equivalent to a prescribed medicine, whatever the label implies.

09 · What results to expect

What you are paying for: realistic results

Value depends on results, and results are gradual. In the SURMOUNT-1 trial of 2,539 adults, people taking tirzepatide alongside diet and exercise lost on average 15% of their body weight on 5mg, 19.5% on 10mg and 20.9% on 15mg over 72 weeks, compared with 3.1% with lifestyle changes alone.2 These are trial averages, and individual results vary. For someone starting at 100 kg, 20.9% is about 21 kg.

At 72 weeks, 85% of participants on 5mg, 89% on 10mg and 91% on 15mg had lost at least 5% of their body weight. Half of participants on 10mg and 57% on 15mg lost at least 20%.2 Trial averages do not predict your own result, and treatment works alongside a reduced-calorie diet and increased physical activity, not instead of them.

Three months in, most people are still on the lower rungs of the dose ladder, so losses are modest compared with the headline figures. A sensible 3-month expectation on a standard titration is mid single digits as a percentage of body weight, with wide individual variation. Slower early progress does not predict failure, because the dose you respond to may still be ahead of you.2

The first weeks on 2.5mg are about adjustment. Some people notice appetite change and early loss in week one, others feel little until a higher dose, and both are normal. Early loss includes water weight, so the trend over weeks matters more than any single weigh-in. Mild nausea, altered appetite and tiredness in the first days after each injection are the commonest early effects and usually settle.13

Plateaus of a few weeks are normal as the body adapts to a lower weight. Within the licence, review food intake honestly, protect protein and activity, check sleep and alcohol, and ask your prescriber whether a dose step-up is appropriate if you are not yet at maximum. A plateau is not a reason to double doses or add unlicensed products.1

Your prescriber reviews response. If you have lost less than 5% of your starting weight after 6 months on the highest dose you can tolerate, they will discuss whether continuing or stopping is right for you.1 That review is part of why a monthly price should be judged alongside the clinical support, not on its own. In trials, weight loss also came with average improvements in waist size, blood pressure, cholesterol and blood-sugar measures. These are trial-average secondary outcomes, not promises.2

10 · How to order

How ordering works, step by step

Ordering takes four stages. Everything starts with a free online consultation, a short health questionnaire with no charge and no obligation. You can begin on our consultation page.

  1. Free online consultation. Answer the health questions about your weight, history and current medicines.
  2. Prescriber review. A GPhC-registered prescriber reviews your answers, not a scoring script. Payment is taken when you place the order; if the prescriber decides the treatment is not suitable, the order is refunded automatically in full.
  3. Dispensing and dispatch. Our registered pharmacy dispenses your pen, with same-day dispatch when ordered by 3pm.
  4. Delivery. Free next-day tracked delivery by DPD in temperature-controlled, discreet packaging. Saturday delivery is £14.99.

Mounjaro is a prescription-only medicine, supplied only after an online consultation reviewed by a GPhC-registered prescriber. A prescriber will assess your BMI, medical history and current medicines before deciding whether it is suitable for you.1 New customers save £40 on their first order with code FIRST40, and an automatic £25 reorder discount applies to every future order (code DOSE25).

Repeat orders re-check suitability, so there is no auto-shipping and no subscription lock-in. If you would rather spread the cost, Klarna and pay-monthly options are available. Declined consultations are refunded automatically in full, and refunds take 5–10 working days. Dispensed prescription medicines cannot be returned except where an item is faulty, damaged or wrong, in which case contact us within 3 days.

Support is available Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm, by email at support@everydaymeds.co.uk, by account portal chat or on 0333 207 0413. Aftercare includes monthly reviews, dose-titration and follow-up assessments, plus side-effect support. Our free GLPTrackr app for iOS and Android helps you keep track of doses and progress.

Ready to see live prices for your dose? Visit the Mounjaro pen page, or compare other options in our weight loss treatments hub. For another view on monthly pricing, see our guide to one month's supply.

Results vary, and this information is not a substitute for medical advice. Mounjaro is used alongside a reduced-calorie diet and increased physical activity.

Your questions, answered

Mounjaro price UK — frequently asked questions

Answers to common questions about Mounjaro prices, NHS access and ongoing treatment.

Ask our pharmacy team
How much does Mounjaro cost a month in the UK?
A month of Mounjaro costs the price of one pen, which depends on your dose. At standard prices that is £169.99 for 2.5mg, £189.99 for 5mg and £244.99 for 7.5mg. The 10mg pen is £274.99, the 12.5mg pen is £289.99 and the 15mg pen is £299.99. New customers save £40 on their first order with code FIRST40, and every later order is £25 off the standard price. Prices checked 25 October 2026.
What does 1 month of Mounjaro cost?
One month is one KwikPen containing four weekly doses, so the cost is simply the price of the pen for your dose. Most people start on 2.5mg, which costs £169.99 at the standard price. Your first 2.5mg pen costs £129.99 with code FIRST40. As your dose rises, the monthly price rises with it, up to £299.99 at 15mg. Your prescriber decides when to step up, so month one is not necessarily your ongoing cost.
How much does Mounjaro cost for 3 months?
On a standard titration, the first three months usually mean three pens: 2.5mg, 5mg and 7.5mg. At standard prices that is £169.99, then £189.99, then £244.99. A new customer's first order is £40 less, and every later order is £25 less. Your prescriber sets the pace, so your own schedule may differ. If you step up after 4 weeks on each dose, your first four pens (2.5mg to 10mg) cost £879.96 at standard prices.
How much will Mounjaro cost from September?
Mounjaro's UK list price rose on 1 September 2025, after Eli Lilly announced the increase on 14 August 2025. Pharmacy prices vary because of confidential discounts. Our current prices are shown live: the 2.5mg pen is £169.99 and the 15mg pen is £299.99, checked 25 October 2026.
Which UK pharmacy has the cheapest Mounjaro?
It depends on the dose, so compare like for like. Across the UK pharmacies we track, a Mounjaro pen ranges from £143.96 to £319.99, and 2.5mg starting pens from £143.96 to £179.99 (checked 25 October 2026). For the same dose, the gap between providers runs from £20 to £36.03. Check the pharmacy is on the GPhC register, and see what the price includes before you decide.
Can diabetics get Mounjaro on the NHS?
Mounjaro is licensed for type 2 diabetes as well as weight management, and NICE has a separate appraisal for that use (TA924).8 Whether it is prescribed depends on your clinical team and local pathways, so ask your GP or diabetes team. On the weight-management side, NHS access is being phased in over several years, with the primary-care rollout beginning in June 2025 for the highest-need groups first.6
Does the monthly price change as my dose goes up?
Yes. Each strength is a separate pen with its own price, so your monthly cost follows your dose. At standard prices it rises from £169.99 at 2.5mg to £299.99 at 15mg, with 5mg at £189.99. Not everyone reaches the top dose: your prescriber reviews your response before each step. A first year costs £2,399.88 if you settle at 5mg, up to £3,279.88 at 15mg. Your first order is £40 less and later orders £25 less.
Can I make a Mounjaro pen last longer to save money?
No. Each pen is designed and licensed to deliver exactly four weekly doses, and Mounjaro is a once-weekly medicine.
Are there any extra costs on top of the pen price?
No. The consultation is free, and the price shown is the price paid with no hidden fees. Delivery is free next-day tracked delivery, in temperature-controlled packaging. Saturday delivery is £14.99. Needles, a sharps bin and injection guidance come with every order, along with ongoing monthly reviews. There are no subscriptions, and repeat orders re-check suitability rather than auto-shipping. Orders placed by 3pm are dispatched the same day, and Klarna and pay-monthly options are available.
