The price shown is the price paid. The consultation is free, with no hidden fees, and delivery is free next-day tracked delivery in temperature-controlled packaging. Saturday delivery is £14.99. Orders placed by 3pm are dispatched the same day. Needles, a sharps bin and injection guidance come with every order, and ongoing monthly reviews with the prescribing team are part of the service.

Mounjaro prices differ because pharmacies buy at different terms, run different cost bases and choose different pricing strategies. Eli Lilly announced an increase to the UK list price of Mounjaro, effective in September 2025, and the list price is only the starting point.¹⁰ Pharmacies receive confidential discounts, so the price on a website reflects a commercial decision as much as a wholesale cost.

Mounjaro is a once-weekly injectable prescription medicine, supplied in a pre-filled multi-dose KwikPen in six strengths: 2.5mg, 5mg, 7.5mg, 10mg, 12.5mg and 15mg.¹ Each pen is one 4-week supply. Some hold a low starter price and charge more at higher strengths. Others flatten the curve. A pharmacy that looks cheapest at 2.5mg may not be cheapest at 10mg, which is why the starting-dose headline can mislead.

A first year of Mounjaro costs £2,399.88 if you stay on 5mg after your 2.5mg starting pen, up to £3,279.88 if you step up through every dose to 15mg, at standard prices before any discounts. The monthly price is the number to plan around, because the dose you settle at drives the cost. Counterfeit Mounjaro: why the cheapest price can be dangerous

The lowest price you can find is not worth it if the pen is fake. The MHRA has seized thousands of fake weight-loss pens in the UK and has issued alerts after falsified Mounjaro pens were identified.⁷ Fake pens have caused hospitalisations, and some contained insulin rather than tirzepatide.⁷ That is why price should never be the only filter when you choose where to buy Mounjaro.

Mounjaro is licensed for weight management in adults with a BMI of 30 or above, or a BMI between 27 and 30 with at least one weight-related condition such as high blood pressure, high cholesterol, obstructive sleep apnoea, cardiovascular disease, prediabetes or type 2 diabetes.¹ It must be used alongside a reduced-calorie diet and increased physical activity.¹ A prescriber will assess your BMI, medical history and current medicines before deciding whether it is suitable for you.

This matters for price comparison because a low price does not mean you will be approved. Every legitimate provider has to assess you first. Payment is taken when you place the order; if the prescriber decides the treatment is not suitable, the order is refunded automatically in full. The consultation is a short health questionnaire reviewed by a GPhC-registered prescriber, not a scoring script. 09 · NHS versus private

NHS or private: which is cheaper for you?

The NHS route costs the least out of pocket, but access is limited and phased. Mounjaro is available on the NHS, but access is being phased in over several years.⁶ NICE recommends it for adults with a BMI of at least 35 plus at least one weight-related condition, and the NHS primary-care rollout began in June 2025 with the highest-need groups first, initially BMI 40+ with four or more qualifying conditions.⁴⁶ Full rollout is expected to take years, which is why many people who meet the licensed criteria choose regulated private treatment rather than waiting.

That is a real trade-off. If you meet the NHS criteria and can access treatment through your GP or a specialist service, your prescription cost is the standard NHS charge where it applies, currently £9.90 in England. If you do not yet qualify, or you do and have not been offered a place, a private prescription from a regulated pharmacy is the alternative, and that is where price comparison matters.

People with type 2 diabetes sometimes ask whether they can get Mounjaro on the NHS. Tirzepatide is licensed for type 2 diabetes as well as weight management, and NICE has guidance on its use in diabetes.⁸ Whether you are offered it depends on your clinical team and local commissioning, so speak to your GP or diabetes team first. The NHS also publishes information on the medicine and how it is used.⁵

A sensible approach is to ask your GP about NHS access first, especially if you are in a higher-need group, and consider private treatment if you do not qualify yet or do not want to wait. Neither route is wrong. Private treatment is a way of getting a licensed medicine, with prescriber review, sooner and at your own cost.

What you are paying for: how Mounjaro works and what trials show

Mounjaro is the brand name for tirzepatide, a once-weekly injectable prescription medicine made by Eli Lilly, licensed in the UK for weight management in adults and for type 2 diabetes.¹

Tirzepatide is the first treatment of its kind to activate two natural gut-hormone receptors at once: GIP and GLP-1. Together these help regulate appetite, slow how quickly the stomach empties, and improve the way the body responds to insulin.¹ In practice, most people feel fuller sooner and less hungry between meals, which supports a reduced-calorie diet. This dual action is what distinguishes Mounjaro from single-action GLP-1 medicines such as semaglutide (Wegovy/Ozempic).

In the SURMOUNT-1 trial of 2,539 adults, people taking tirzepatide alongside diet and exercise lost on average 15% of their body weight on 5mg, 19.5% on 10mg and 20.9% on 15mg over 72 weeks, compared with 3.1% with lifestyle changes alone.² These are trial averages: individual results vary, and treatment works alongside a reduced-calorie diet and increased physical activity, not instead of them. As a worked example, for someone starting at 100 kg, 20.9% is about 21 kg.

At 72 weeks, 85% of participants on 5mg, 89% on 10mg and 91% on 15mg had lost at least 5% of their body weight. Half of participants on 10mg and 57% on 15mg lost at least 20% of their body weight.² Trial averages do not predict your own result, and your prescriber will review your response at every step.

One practical point on stopping: tirzepatide has a half-life of about five days, so after a final dose it takes roughly 4 to 5 weeks to clear the system. There is no way to speed this up, and nothing needs doing while it clears.¹
