Which Country Has the Cheapest Mounjaro? (October 2026)

No single country can be named as the cheapest Mounjaro for a UK patient, because prices abroad depend on national pricing rules, insurance and currency, and a prescription is still required. Across the UK pharmacies we track, a Mounjaro pen runs from £143.96 to £339.00 per month depending on dose and provider. Our own Mounjaro pen starts at £169.99 for 2.5mg. A quick overview

What to know
before you start.

  • There is no verified league table of countries; foreign list prices depend on insurance, taxes, government rules and exchange rates.
  • Across the UK pharmacies we track, one Mounjaro pen costs £143.96 to £339.00 per month, depending on dose and provider.
  • Buying from overseas websites carries a real counterfeit risk; the MHRA has seized thousands of fake weight-loss pens.
  • Our 2.5mg pen is £169.99 at standard price, and new customers save £40 on a first order with code FIRST40.
  • Safe ways to cut cost are comparing UK providers on the same dose, using the new-customer and reorder discounts, and asking about NHS access.

01 · The short answer

Which country sells Mounjaro cheapest?

There is no reliable, current, single answer. Mounjaro is a prescription-only medicine in the UK, and it is priced very differently from one country to the next. Each country sets its own rules on reimbursement, taxes, wholesale margins and whether the medicine is covered by insurance at all. A figure quoted for one country is often a list price, an insurance co-pay or a one-off promotion, and those are not the same thing.

The UK picture can be checked and dated.

02 · What we can verify

What Mounjaro costs in the UK as of October 2026

Across the UK pharmacies we track, the cheapest and dearest Mounjaro pens (all doses, all providers) are £143.96 and £339.00 per month, checked 12 October 2026. For the 2.5mg starting pen alone, the range is £143.96 to £179.99. For the same dose, the gap between providers runs from £27 to £41. Boots' Mounjaro prices run from £179.00 to £339.00 depending on dose.

At EverydayMeds, one Mounjaro pen (four weekly doses) costs £169.99 at 2.5mg, £218.99 at 5mg, £279.99 at 7.5mg, £290.99 at 10mg, £319.99 at 12.5mg and £329.99 at 15mg, as standard prices. New customers save £40 on their first order at any dose with code FIRST40, and an automatic £25 reorder discount applies to every future order (code DOSE25). Your first 2.5mg pen therefore costs £129.99 as a first-order price, and switching to us at 15mg means a first-order price of £289.99. Every later order is £25 off the standard price. All six doses are in stock.

03 · Practical view

Why the UK is the practical place to buy

For a UK resident, the cheapest country on paper is rarely the cheapest in practice. You would need a valid prescription, a way to receive a cold-chain product safely, and a pharmacy you can verify. A UK online pharmacy can offer all three. Our service is a GPhC-registered pharmacy (registration 9012878) with a free online consultation reviewed by a GPhC-registered prescriber. We supply Mounjaro through official LillyDirect supply, and delivery is free, next-day and tracked in temperature-controlled packaging. Orders placed by 3pm are dispatched the same day.

Compare providers on the same dose, not just the headline figure. Our guide on which pharmacy has the cheapest Mounjaro goes through how to do that.

04 · How to order

How ordering works with us

Ordering takes three steps. First, complete a free online consultation, a short health questionnaire with no charge and no obligation. Second, a GPhC-registered prescriber reviews your answers. Payment is taken when you place the order; if the prescriber decides the treatment is not suitable, the order is refunded automatically in full. Third, our registered pharmacy dispenses your pen and it arrives by free next-day tracked delivery, with needles, a sharps bin and injection guidance included. Start your free consultation when you are ready.

05 · Why prices differ by country

Why Mounjaro prices differ from country to country

Mounjaro prices differ between countries because each country sets the rules for how medicines are priced and paid for. The same pen made by the same manufacturer can have a very different price tag depending on where it is sold. This is true of most branded medicines, not only Mounjaro, and it is the main reason a tidy ranking of countries does not exist.

Several factors drive the difference. Governments negotiate or cap prices in some countries, while in others the manufacturer sets a list price and insurers or health systems negotiate private discounts. Taxes and wholesale or pharmacy margins differ. Some countries cover the medicine for certain patients through insurance or a public system, so what a patient pays at the counter is a co-payment, not the real cost of the pen. Exchange rates move the converted figure again, often within weeks.

That is why a quoted number such as a price in one currency can mean very different things. It might be a list price before any discount, an amount that applies only to people with insurance, a price for a different pack size or dose, or an old figure from before a price change. A single figure with no date, dose or conditions tells you almost nothing.

Availability also matters. Mounjaro has different approved uses and different supply arrangements in different places, so even a low price is not useful if you cannot legally get the pen with a prescription. A price you cannot access is not a price you can plan around.

The UK has its own set of rules. A private prescription is needed, the pharmacy must be registered, and the price is set by the pharmacy within the supply it has agreed with the manufacturer. Pharmacy sell prices vary, which is why our price index tracks them. If you want to understand the origin of the product itself, our guide on where Mounjaro is made explains who manufactures it.

The practical lesson is simple. Compare like with like: the same dose, a dated price, and a pharmacy you can verify. For a UK patient, that comparison is among UK-registered pharmacies, and that is the one we can document with dated figures.

It is also worth remembering that price is only one part of what you are buying. A consultation, a prescriber who reviews you, monthly follow-up and a reliable cold-chain delivery all sit behind a genuine supply. A lower figure that leaves those out is not really a lower price for the same thing.

06 · Why overseas headline prices mislead

Why overseas headline prices mislead

Overseas headline prices mislead because they are almost never the amount a UK buyer would pay for the same product. When you see a very low number for Mounjaro in another country, there are usually several questions that the number does not answer.

Consider what a typical overseas headline leaves out. Is the price per pen or per dose? Which strength is it for? Is it before or after insurance? Is it the price of a branded Mounjaro pen, or of a different product altogether? Does it include any tax, and was it checked this month or two years ago?

A second issue is legality and access. A very low price may apply to a product that is restricted or not available to export to the UK. A medicine bought across a border is not covered by the same checks as one supplied by a UK-registered pharmacy against a UK prescription. If a seller is offering to supply without a consultation or prescription, that is a warning sign, not a bargain.

A third issue is the currency and the timing. Converting a foreign figure into pounds gives a number that looks precise but moves with exchange rates and with any price change in the original market. By the time you act on it, it may have shifted.

A fourth issue is the product itself. Medicines sold at suspiciously low prices from unverified sources are exactly where falsified products turn up. The MHRA has issued alerts after falsified Mounjaro pens were identified, and it has seized thousands of fake weight-loss pens in the UK.7 Fake pens have caused hospitalisations, and some contained insulin rather than tirzepatide.7

So the honest reading of an overseas headline price is: interesting, unverified, and probably not what you would pay. If you are curious about the legal status of supply in other countries, such as over-the-counter availability, our page on which country you can buy Mounjaro over the counter looks at that question separately. For anyone living in the UK, the sensible comparison stays inside the UK.

When you find a figure that seems too good, ask what is missing. A missing dose, a missing date, a missing prescription requirement or a missing pharmacy registration is usually the answer.

07 · UK list price increase

The UK list price increase in September 2025

The biggest single change to UK Mounjaro pricing was the manufacturer's list price rise in 2025. Eli Lilly announced on 14 August 2025 that the UK list price of Mounjaro would increase, effective 1 September 2025.

That increase explains a lot of the confusion in price comparisons. Articles and snippets written before September 2025 quote pre-rise figures, and those are still widely copied. If a page tells you about a very low UK price, check whether it has a date. A figure from before the change describes a market that no longer exists.

The list price is not the same as what each pharmacy charges. Pharmacy sell prices vary because of confidential discounts, which is why the gap between providers for the same dose can be wide. Across the UK pharmacies we track, the smallest gap between providers for a given dose is £27 and the largest is £41, checked 12 October 2026.

What does this mean for the question of which country is cheapest? It means that any cross-country comparison that does not state its date, its dose and whether it is before or after this UK change is unreliable for UK buyers. The UK did not stand still while other markets moved, and neither did anyone else.

For the UK buyer, the live comparison matters more than the history. A 2.5mg starter pen costs £169.99 at standard price, and the highest dose, 15mg, costs £329.99. New customers save £40 on their first order with code FIRST40, and every later order is £25 off the standard price.

If you want a deeper look at current discount values and how they work, see our Mounjaro discount code guide. The values and codes it shows render live, so you always see the current ones.

One last point on timing: do not wait for a price drop on the strength of old articles. Prices can move in either direction, and the only useful question is what the price is today for the dose you need.

08 · The UK price landscape

The UK price landscape across providers

The UK price landscape for Mounjaro is wide, and the spread between providers is the main thing a buyer can act on. Across the UK pharmacies we track, our index (checked 12 October 2026) shows the cheapest Mounjaro pen at £143.96 per month and the dearest at £339.00 per month, across all doses and providers.

These two numbers should be read carefully. They are not a starting-dose range, because the dearest pen is usually a high-strength one. For the 2.5mg starting pen specifically, the index shows £143.96 to £179.99. If you are starting treatment, that second range is the relevant one.

Provider-to-provider differences for the same dose run from £27 to £41. In other words, choosing between two pharmacies for the same dose can matter as much as choosing between doses. High street chains are part of that picture: Boots' lowest and highest Mounjaro dose prices are £179.00 and £339.00.

How should you compare? Use a short checklist.

  • Compare the same dose, because a 2.5mg pen and a 15mg pen are not comparable.
  • Check the date of the price. Our comparison figures are dated 12 October 2026.
  • Check whether the price is a first-order price or a standard price. Ours are labelled as such.
  • Check what is included: consultation, delivery, needles, sharps bin and aftercare.
  • Check the pharmacy is on the GPhC register.

On the last point, you can verify our registration (9012878) on the GPhC register.12

Our own position: one Mounjaro pen costs £169.99 at 2.5mg and £218.99 at 5mg as standard prices. Consultation is free and the price shown is the price paid, with no hidden fees. Delivery is free next-day tracked, with Saturday delivery at £14.99 if you prefer it. We offer Klarna and pay-monthly options, and there is no subscription lock-in.

For a more detailed look at provider comparisons, our pages on which pharmacy sells Mounjaro the cheapest and which pharmacy has the cheapest Mounjaro set out how to run the comparison yourself, and why we date every figure.

09 · Risks of buying from abroad

The risks of buying Mounjaro from overseas sellers

The main risk of buying Mounjaro from an overseas seller is that you cannot tell what is in the pen. Genuine UK stock is supplied through Lilly's official distribution to licensed pharmacies, and every pen carries a batch number and expiry date that can be checked.7 A seller who does not fit that chain gives you none of that reassurance.

The MHRA has seized thousands of fake weight-loss pens in the UK and has issued alerts after falsified Mounjaro pens were identified.7 Fake pens have caused hospitalisations, and some contained insulin rather than tirzepatide.7

Where do fake pens turn up? The advice is to buy only from a pharmacy you can verify on the GPhC register, and never from social media, beauty salons or unverified websites.12 Genuine treatment always involves a prescription and a clinical consultation.7 A seller offering to supply without a consultation or prescription is a clear warning sign.

If you receive a pen, check it before you inject. A genuine UK Mounjaro pen comes from a registered pharmacy with a batch number and expiry date, arrives cold-chain packaged, and the solution inside is clear and colourless.13 Do not use a pen that has been frozen, looks cloudy or discoloured, has particles in it, is past its expiry, has been above 30°C, or has been out of the fridge for more than 30 days in use. If supply or packaging ever seems wrong, check the pharmacy on the GPhC register and contact the pharmacy before injecting.12

Transport matters too. A product that is meant to be kept cold can be affected by long journeys across borders, customs delays and warm warehouses. A UK pharmacy delivering next day in temperature-controlled packaging removes most of that uncertainty.

Finally, there is the question of follow-up. If you have side effects or questions after an overseas purchase, nobody is responsible for your care. With a UK pharmacy, ongoing monthly reviews, dose-titration and side-effect support are part of the service. If you do experience a side effect, you can report it through the MHRA Yellow Card scheme.19

The lowest figure on the internet is only a saving if the pen is real, the dose is right and someone is looking after you. A price that fails on any of those is not a saving.

10 · Safe ways to lower your cost

Safe ways to lower what you pay for Mounjaro

There are several safe ways to lower the cost of Mounjaro in the UK, and none of them involve leaving the country or changing how the pen is used. The first is to compare UK providers on the same dose. The gap between providers for the same dose runs from £27 to £41, so comparison is worth the time.

The second is to use the discounts that apply. New customers save £40 on their first order at any dose with code FIRST40, including people switching to us from another provider at a higher dose. An automatic £25 reorder discount applies to every future order (code DOSE25).

The third is to check NHS access. Mounjaro is available on the NHS, but access is being phased in over several years. NICE recommends it for adults with a BMI of at least 35 plus at least one weight-related condition, and the NHS primary-care rollout began in June 2025 with the highest-need groups first, initially BMI 40+ with four or more qualifying conditions.46 Full rollout is expected to take years, which is why many people who meet the licensed criteria choose regulated private treatment rather than waiting. Ask your GP whether you fall into a current group.

Last, use payment flexibility if monthly cash flow is the issue. We offer Klarna and pay-monthly options with no subscription, so you are not locked in. Our weight loss treatments page sets out other licensed options your prescriber may discuss with you.

11 · What you are buying: how it works

What you are actually buying: how Mounjaro works

Mounjaro is the brand name for tirzepatide, a once-weekly injectable prescription medicine made by Eli Lilly. In the UK it is licensed for weight management in adults and for type 2 diabetes. It comes as a pre-filled multi-dose pen (KwikPen) in six strengths: 2.5mg, 5mg, 7.5mg, 10mg, 12.5mg and 15mg.1

Tirzepatide is the first treatment of its kind to activate two natural gut-hormone receptors at once: GIP and GLP-1. Together these help regulate appetite, slow how quickly the stomach empties, and improve the way the body responds to insulin. In practice, most people feel fuller sooner and less hungry between meals, which supports a reduced-calorie diet.111 This dual action is what distinguishes Mounjaro from single-action GLP-1 medicines such as semaglutide.

It has a half-life of about five days, so after a final dose it takes roughly 4–5 weeks to clear the system. There is no way to speed this up, and nothing needs doing while it clears.1

What can you expect from it? In the SURMOUNT-1 trial of 2,539 adults, people taking tirzepatide alongside diet and exercise lost on average 15% of their body weight on 5mg, 19.5% on 10mg and 20.9% on 15mg over 72 weeks, compared with 3.1% with lifestyle changes alone.2 These are trial averages, and individual results vary. Treatment works alongside a reduced-calorie diet and increased physical activity, not instead of them.2

At 72 weeks, 85% of participants on 5mg, 89% on 10mg and 91% on 15mg had lost at least 5% of their body weight. Half of participants on 10mg and 57% on 15mg lost at least 20% of their body weight.2 As a worked example, for someone starting at 100 kg, 20.9% is about 21 kg, though trial averages do not predict your own result.

The medicine is a prescription-only medicine, supplied only after an online consultation reviewed by a GPhC-registered prescriber. It is used alongside a reduced-calorie diet and increased physical activity. Individual results vary. This page is information, not a substitute for medical advice.

12 · Planning the cost over a year

Planning the cost of Mounjaro over a year

The most useful price to plan around is not one pen but the whole first year, because the dose changes as treatment progresses. If you step up after 4 weeks on each dose, your first four pens (2.5mg to 10mg) cost £959.96 at standard prices. A new customer's first order is £40 less, and every later order is £25 less.

Over a full first year (52 weeks, 13 pens), the total depends on where you settle. A first year costs £2,711.88 if you stay on 5mg after your 2.5mg starting pen, up to £3,599.88 if you step up through every dose to 15mg. Those are standard prices before any discounts. If you settle at another dose, the monthly price is what matters: £279.99 at 7.5mg, £290.99 at 10mg and £319.99 at 12.5mg per pen.

PhaseLengthPensStandard cost
First year, settling at 5mg52 weeks13£2,711.88
First year, settling at 15mg52 weeks13£3,599.88

A weekly view can help too. At standard prices the weekly equivalents are £42.50 at 2.5mg, £54.75 at 5mg, £70.00 at 7.5mg, £72.75 at 10mg, £80.00 at 12.5mg and £82.50 at 15mg. Each pen contains four weekly doses, and monthly prices are per 4-week pen.

Does a higher dose always mean better value? Not necessarily. The right dose is decided with your prescriber, based on your response and how you tolerate the medicine.

This is where a cross-country comparison falls down. A foreign price for a single pen cannot be turned into a year cost without knowing your dose path, the dates and the prescription arrangements. A UK plan can be costed from dated UK prices, and it updates live as prices change. You can see the current price for each strength on the Mounjaro product page, checked 12 October 2026.

If you want to keep costs predictable, decide with your prescriber where you are likely to settle, and use the first-order and reorder discounts. Klarna and pay-monthly options can spread the cost without a subscription, and repeat orders re-check suitability with no auto-shipping, so you stay in control of each order.

13 · Eligibility and NHS or private

Who can get Mounjaro, and NHS versus private

Whichever country you compare, the question that decides whether you can have Mounjaro is eligibility, not price. In the UK it is licensed for weight management in adults with a BMI of 30 or above, or a BMI between 27 and 30 with at least one weight-related condition such as high blood pressure, high cholesterol, obstructive sleep apnoea, cardiovascular disease, prediabetes or type 2 diabetes.111 It must be used alongside a reduced-calorie diet and increased physical activity. A prescriber will assess your BMI, medical history and current medicines before deciding whether it is suitable for you.

On the NHS, Mounjaro is available, but access is being phased in over several years. NICE recommends it for adults with a BMI of at least 35 plus at least one weight-related condition, and the NHS primary-care rollout began in June 2025 with the highest-need groups first (initially BMI 40+ with four or more qualifying conditions).46 Full rollout is expected to take years.

That is why many people who meet the licensed criteria choose regulated private treatment rather than waiting. If you do not yet fall into an NHS group, a private prescription from a GPhC-registered pharmacy is the regulated route. If you do, you may prefer to ask your GP first. Neither route involves going abroad.

How does the private route work with us? You complete a free online consultation, a short health questionnaire with no charge and no obligation. A GPhC-registered prescriber reviews it, and this is a clinical review, not a scoring script. Payment is taken when you place the order; if the prescriber decides the treatment is not suitable, the order is refunded automatically in full.

Once approved, the pen is dispensed by our registered pharmacy and dispatched the same day if ordered by 3pm. It is delivered free next day by tracked DPD service in discreet, temperature-controlled packaging. Needles, a sharps bin and injection guidance are included with every order.

After your first order, aftercare is part of the service: ongoing monthly reviews, dose-titration and follow-up assessments by the prescribing team, and side-effect support. Repeat orders re-check suitability. There is no auto-shipping, so every order is a deliberate decision. Support runs Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm, by email at support@everydaymeds.co.uk, account portal chat or phone on 0333 207 0413.

We also offer GLPTrackr, a free companion app for tracking a GLP-1 journey on iOS and Android. Trusted by over 100,000 customers on their weight loss journey, we aim to make the process clear. To see whether you would be suitable, you can start your free consultation; the decision is made by the prescriber after reviewing your answers.

Mounjaro price UK — frequently asked questions

Answers to common questions about Mounjaro prices, NHS access and ongoing treatment.

Ask our pharmacy team
Which country has the cheapest Mounjaro?
No single country can be named as the cheapest for a UK patient, because there is no verified, dated league table of country prices. Prices abroad depend on insurance, taxes, government rules and exchange rates, and a quoted figure is often a list price or co-pay rather than what you would pay. For UK residents, the useful comparison is between UK-registered pharmacies for the same dose. Across the UK pharmacies we track, a pen costs £143.96 to £339.00 per month, checked 12 October 2026.
What is the price of Mounjaro in Germany, France or Italy?
Prices in Germany, France, Italy and other countries cannot be compared like for like with UK prices. National pricing and reimbursement rules differ, so a figure from one source may be a list price, an insurance co-payment or an old number. If you are buying in the UK, compare UK pharmacies on the same dose instead. Our 2.5mg pen is £169.99 at standard price, checked 12 October 2026.
How much is 5mg Mounjaro in Spain?
There is no reliable, like-for-like Spanish price for 5mg Mounjaro that a UK buyer can plan around. Prices vary by country, by insurance and by date, so an overseas figure may not apply to you. In the UK, one 5mg pen (four weekly doses) costs £218.99 with us at standard price, and new customers save £40 on a first order with code FIRST40.
How much does Mounjaro 15mg cost?
In the UK, a 15mg Mounjaro pen from us costs £329.99 at standard price, for four weekly doses. Switching to us at 15mg? Your first order is £289.99, because new customers save £40 at any dose with code FIRST40. Every later order is £25 off the standard price. Prices checked 12 October 2026.
What is the cheapest way to get Mounjaro?

Where can I find the cheapest Mounjaro in the UK?
Compare the same dose across several UK pharmacies, check the price date, and confirm each is on the GPhC register. Across the UK pharmacies we track, the cheapest 2.5mg starting pen is £143.96 and the dearest £179.99, checked 12 October 2026. Same-dose gaps between providers run from £27 to £41.
Are there cheaper alternatives to Mounjaro in the UK?
Whether another medicine is cheaper or suitable is a prescriber decision, and it depends on your health and goals. Low-cost supplements are available cheaply without assessment, but they carry no clinical oversight and are not equivalent. Ask your prescriber which option fits you.
How quickly does Mounjaro start working?
Mounjaro helps regulate appetite and slows how quickly the stomach empties, so most people feel fuller sooner and less hungry between meals. How quickly that shows for you varies, and treatment starts at 2.5mg and steps up in stages. In the SURMOUNT-1 trial, average weight loss was measured over 72 weeks; trial averages do not predict your own result. Your prescriber reviews you monthly and will discuss your progress as you move through the doses.
Is it safe to buy Mounjaro from another country online?
It carries real risk. The MHRA has seized thousands of fake weight-loss pens in the UK and has issued alerts after falsified Mounjaro pens were identified, and some fake pens contained insulin rather than tirzepatide. Buy only from a pharmacy you can verify on the GPhC register, never from social media, beauty salons or unverified websites. Genuine treatment always involves a prescription and a clinical consultation. If a seller offers supply without those, do not buy.
