A quick overview

What to know
before you start.

  • Telehealth prescribing is legal in the UK when a registered prescriber reviews your consultation and a registered pharmacy dispenses the medicine.
  • Check the GPhC register, who reviews your answers, and what follow-up is included before choosing any provider.
  • Mounjaro is licensed for adults with a BMI of 30+, or 27–30 with a weight-related condition, alongside diet and activity.
  • Our free consultation has no obligation, and if a prescriber decides the treatment is not suitable, your order is refunded automatically in full.
  • NHS access is being phased in over several years, so many eligible adults use regulated private treatment.
In this guide

01 · The short answer

Can you get a GLP-1 prescribed through telehealth in the UK?

Yes. You can get a GLP-1 prescribed through telehealth in the UK if a GPhC-registered prescriber reviews your health information and decides the medicine is suitable. The medicine is then dispensed by a registered pharmacy and delivered to you. Mounjaro (tirzepatide) is a prescription-only medicine, supplied only after an online consultation reviewed by a GPhC-registered prescriber.1

The word "telehealth" is used loosely online. In the UK it covers a regulated online pharmacy with prescribers, but also unregulated sellers on social media who have no clinical oversight. For a wider look at the topic, see our guide on whether you can obtain prescription weight loss medications through telehealth.

Our own route is simple. You complete a free online consultation, a GPhC-registered prescriber reviews it, and if the medicine is suitable it is dispensed by our registered pharmacy. Payment is taken when you place the order; if the prescriber decides the treatment is not suitable, the order is refunded automatically in full. You can start your free consultation without any obligation.

02 · Cost

What telehealth GLP-1 treatment costs with us

The Mounjaro pen costs £169.99 per month at 2.5mg, £218.99 at 5mg, £279.99 at 7.5mg, £290.99 at 10mg, £319.99 at 12.5mg and £329.99 at 15mg. Each figure is the standard price of one four-week pen. A new customer's first order at any dose is £40 less with code FIRST40, and every future order gets an automatic £25 off with code DOSE25.

Your first 2.5mg pen costs £129.99 with the first-order code. Switching to us at 15mg? Your first order is £289.99. These are first-order prices, not monthly ones. The consultation is free and the price shown is the price paid, with no hidden fees.

For planning, if you step up after 4 weeks on each dose, your first four pens (2.5mg to 10mg) cost £959.96 at standard prices. A first year of 13 pens costs £2,711.88 if you stay on 5mg after your 2.5mg starting pen, up to £3,599.88 if you step up through every dose to 15mg. A new customer's first order is £40 less, and every later order £25 less. If you settle at 7.5mg, 10mg or 12.5mg, work from that dose's monthly price: £279.99, £290.99 or £319.99.

Across the UK pharmacies we track, the cheapest and dearest Mounjaro pen at any dose range from £143.96 to £339.00 (checked 10 October 2026). For the same dose, the gap between providers runs from £27 to £41. Wegovy is another option; see the Wegovy pen page for details.

03 · Ordering

How ordering works in three steps

Ordering takes three steps, and your order is refunded automatically in full if the prescriber decides the treatment is not suitable.

  • Free online consultation. A short health questionnaire, with no charge and no obligation.
  • Prescriber review. A GPhC-registered prescriber reviews your answers. This is a clinical decision, not a scoring script.
  • Dispensing and delivery. Our registered pharmacy dispenses it, with same-day dispatch when ordered by 3pm. Delivery is free, next-day, tracked and discreet in temperature-controlled packaging. Saturday delivery is £14.99.

Needles, a sharps bin and injection guidance come with every order. You can also see the full Buy Mounjaro page, or compare options on our weight loss treatments page. If you take the contraceptive pill, Mounjaro slows stomach emptying, which can reduce how well it is absorbed. Switch to a non-oral method, or add a barrier method (such as condoms), for 4 weeks after starting Mounjaro and for 4 weeks after each dose increase. Mounjaro must not be used during pregnancy, and it should be stopped at least one month before trying to conceive.

04 · Choosing a provider

How to choose a telehealth GLP-1 provider

The most reliable check is whether the provider is a registered pharmacy. Look up the pharmacy on the GPhC public register, and check that the registration number on the website matches the register entry.12 Ours is GPhC 9012878.

Beyond registration, a sensible checklist looks like this:

  • A real prescriber review. The provider should say who reviews your consultation and that they are registered. A form that approves anyone is a warning sign.
  • A consultation before supply. No prescription-only medicine should be sold without one. Anyone offering to supply without a consultation or prescription should be avoided.
  • Clear pricing. The price you see should be the price you pay. Ask what the consultation, delivery and follow-up cost before you commit.
  • Follow-up included. Look for ongoing monthly reviews, dose-titration support and a way to reach someone about side effects.
  • A named supply source. We supply through official LillyDirect, which means Mounjaro direct from Eli Lilly's UK distribution and genuine KwikPens.
  • Flexible payment. We accept Visa and Mastercard, Klarna and pay-monthly options, with no subscriptions. Repeat orders re-check suitability, with no auto-shipping.

Telehealth brands you may have heard of, such as Nourish or Virta, are mainly known for services in other countries. If you are wondering about them, our pages on whether Nourish can prescribe GLP-1 and whether Virta prescribes GLP-1 explain what applies. For UK treatment, check that any provider is registered here and not only abroad.

05 · Who can prescribe

Who can prescribe GLP-1 medicines online

A GLP-1 medicine in the UK must be prescribed by a suitably registered prescriber, and then dispensed by a registered pharmacy. The prescriber makes the clinical decision, and the pharmacy is responsible for safe supply. On our service, the prescriber is GPhC-registered.

If you want the wider picture of the professions involved, see our guide on whether doctors can prescribe GLP-1 for weight loss. A related guide covers telehealth doctors who prescribe GLP-1 weight loss medications.

One point worth stating plainly: a prescriber is not obliged to approve a request. Prescribing is a judgement about your suitability. A provider that says "yes" to everyone is a provider to be wary of.

06 · Eligibility

Who is eligible, and who cannot take GLP-1

Mounjaro is licensed for weight management in adults with a BMI of 30 or above, or a BMI between 27 and 30 with at least one weight-related condition. Examples include high blood pressure, high cholesterol, obstructive sleep apnoea, cardiovascular disease, prediabetes or type 2 diabetes. It must be used alongside a reduced-calorie diet and increased physical activity.1

A prescriber will assess your BMI, medical history and current medicines before deciding whether it is suitable for you.11 Mounjaro is not suitable for everyone. You should not take it if you are allergic to tirzepatide or any of its ingredients, and it should not be used during pregnancy or while trying to conceive. Your prescriber will take extra care, or may recommend against treatment, if you have a history of pancreatitis, severe gut or digestive disease, diabetic retinopathy, or gallbladder problems. If the prescriber decides the treatment is not suitable, your order is refunded automatically in full.

Be open about your history in the consultation. Incomplete answers are the main way a telehealth service can miss something relevant, and they put the treatment's safety at risk.

07 · Interactions

What drugs should not be taken with GLP-1?

Mounjaro slows stomach emptying, so it can affect how quickly some oral medicines are absorbed, particularly when you start treatment or increase the dose.1 Tell your prescriber about everything you take. Pay particular attention to warfarin or other narrow-margin medicines, insulin, and sulfonylureas, where doses may need reducing to avoid low blood sugar.13

That is not a list of medicines you must never combine with Mounjaro. It means your prescriber may adjust doses or monitor you more closely. No adjustment is needed for paracetamol.13

This is exactly why a real consultation matters. A provider that does not ask what else you take cannot judge any of this.

08 · Prescriber workload

Administrative burdens on providers prescribing GLP-1 medicines

Responsible GLP-1 prescribing carries a real administrative load, and it is the reason a careful service cannot be instant or automated.

Each new patient needs a consultation that is read and judged by a prescriber. That means reviewing BMI, medical history and current medicines, which is the assessment set out in prescribing information.11 The decision and its reasons then need to be recorded.

The work does not stop at the first order. A good service also handles:

  • Dose-titration decisions. Mounjaro comes in six strengths, so someone has to decide when a step up is appropriate.
  • Repeat-order checks. We re-check suitability on every repeat order, with no auto-shipping.
  • Follow-up assessments. We provide ongoing monthly reviews, titration and side-effect support from the prescribing team.
  • Pharmacy dispensing and cold-chain handling. Pens must be dispensed accurately and dispatched in temperature-controlled packaging.
  • Customer support and refunds. Orders declined at prescriber review are refunded automatically in full, and queries need answering.

For patients, this load is a sign of quality. A cheap, instant approval usually means that work is not being done. We would rather take the time to review an application properly than approve it fast.

09 · Tablets and other options

Can you get GLP-1 pills in the UK?

GLP-1 tablets exist, and two have UK product information published on the electronic medicines compendium: Wegovy tablets and Foundayo.2021 A prescriber decides whether a tablet or an injection suits you, based on your assessment.

For current Wegovy tablet pricing, see the Wegovy product page and our weight loss treatments overview. If you are asking which pill is best, the honest answer is that no single option is best for everyone.

Mounjaro itself is an injection, taken once a week with a pre-filled multi-dose pen.1 Wegovy's licensed maintenance dose for weight management is 2.4mg, which starts from week 17 after stepping up after at least 4 weeks.

10 · What Mounjaro does

What the evidence says about Mounjaro

Mounjaro contains tirzepatide, which activates both GIP and GLP-1 receptors. In practice, most people feel fuller sooner and less hungry between meals, which supports a reduced-calorie diet.1

In the SURMOUNT-1 trial of 2,539 adults, people taking tirzepatide alongside diet and exercise lost on average 15% of their body weight on 5mg, 19.5% on 10mg and 20.9% on 15mg over 72 weeks, compared with 3.1% with lifestyle changes alone.2 For someone starting at 100 kg, 20.9% is about 21 kg. These are trial averages, individual results vary, and treatment works alongside a reduced-calorie diet and increased physical activity, not instead of them.

At 72 weeks, 85% of participants on 5mg, 89% on 10mg and 91% on 15mg had lost at least 5% of their body weight. Half of participants on 10mg and 57% on 15mg lost at least 20%.2 For more figures, see our GLP-1 statistics page.

11 · NHS or private

NHS or private telehealth: the honest picture

Mounjaro is available on the NHS, but access is being phased in over several years. NICE recommends it for adults with a BMI of at least 35 plus at least one weight-related condition. The NHS primary-care rollout began in June 2025 with the highest-need groups first, initially BMI 40+ with four or more qualifying conditions.46

Full rollout is expected to take years. That is why many people who meet the licensed criteria choose regulated private treatment rather than waiting. That is also why GLP-1 treatment can be hard to get: NHS access is being phased in, and careful private providers check suitability before approving anyone.

If you qualify for NHS care, ask your GP. If you do not yet, or do not want to wait, a regulated telehealth service is a legitimate alternative. NHS access to Wegovy runs through specialist weight-management services; ask your GP.

12 · Staying safe

Avoiding counterfeit and unregulated sellers

Counterfeit weight loss pens exist, and the MHRA publishes counterfeit medicine alerts.7 Buy only from a pharmacy you can find on the GPhC register, and be suspicious of any seller offering to supply without a consultation or prescription. Dramatic weight-loss claims and unusually low prices are further warning signs.

We supply genuine KwikPens through official LillyDirect, direct from Eli Lilly's UK distribution. If you experience a side effect from any medicine, you can report it through the MHRA Yellow Card scheme.19

Mounjaro (tirzepatide) is a prescription-only medicine, used alongside a reduced-calorie diet and increased physical activity. Individual results vary. This page is information, not a substitute for medical advice.

Your questions, answered

Mounjaro price UK — frequently asked questions

Answers to common questions about Mounjaro prices, NHS access and ongoing treatment.

Ask our pharmacy team
Can I get prescribed GLP-1 through telehealth?
Yes, in the UK a GPhC-registered prescriber can prescribe a GLP-1 medicine after reviewing your online consultation, and a registered pharmacy then dispenses it. Approval depends on your BMI, medical history and current medicines. At EverydayMeds the consultation is free, and if a prescriber decides the treatment is not suitable, the order is refunded automatically in full.
Which GLP-1 telehealth is best?
No single provider suits everyone, so compare them on the same checks: GPhC registration, a real prescriber review, clear pricing, named supply and included follow-up. We are GPhC-registered (9012878), supply through official LillyDirect and include monthly reviews. Compare with our guide to telehealth doctors who prescribe GLP-1.
Where can I get GLP-1 pills for weight loss?
Where tablets are supplied, they still need a prescription from a registered prescriber and dispensing by a registered pharmacy. Wegovy tablets and Foundayo both have UK product information published.
Can you get GLP-1 pills in the UK?
Yes. Wegovy tablets and Foundayo (orforglipron) both have UK product information published on the electronic medicines compendium. As with injections, they are prescription-only, so a prescriber must judge them suitable for you first.
How much will GLP-1 pills cost in the UK?
Please see the current Wegovy tablet prices on the product page. For injections, a Mounjaro pen is £169.99 per month at 2.5mg (standard price), checked 11 October 2026.
Who cannot take GLP-1?
Mounjaro is not suitable for everyone. If the prescriber decides it is not suitable, your order is refunded automatically in full.
What drugs should not be taken with GLP-1?
There is no blanket ban, but Mounjaro slows stomach emptying and can affect how quickly some oral medicines are absorbed. Tell your prescriber about warfarin or other narrow-margin medicines, insulin and sulfonylureas, where doses may need reducing to avoid low blood sugar. No adjustment is needed for paracetamol.
Why is it so hard to get GLP-1?
On the NHS, access is being phased in over several years, starting in June 2025 with the highest-need groups. Privately, careful providers assess eligibility before approving anyone, which takes a real prescriber review. If you are not yet eligible on the NHS, a regulated private service is an alternative.
Which GLP-1 pill suits me?
A prescriber can advise on whether a tablet or a weekly injection like Mounjaro suits your health, history and goals.
