A quick overview

What to know
before you start.

  • Telehealth is a legitimate route in the UK when the service is a registered pharmacy and a prescriber reviews your answers.
  • Mounjaro is licensed for BMI 30+, or BMI 27–30 with at least one weight-related condition.
  • The prescriber can decline an order. Payment is taken when you place the order; if the prescriber decides the treatment is not suitable, the order is refunded automatically in full.
  • Treatment works alongside a reduced-calorie diet and more physical activity, not instead of them.
  • NHS access is being phased in over several years, so many people use regulated private treatment.
In this guide

01 · The short answer

How telehealth weight loss prescribing works

You complete a health questionnaire online, a prescriber reviews it, and if the medicine is suitable it is dispensed by a registered pharmacy and posted to you. There is no need to visit a surgery for the first step. For a fuller walkthrough, see our guide to online doctor consultations for weight loss.

With us the journey has four steps:

  • Free online consultation: a short health questionnaire, no charge, no obligation.
  • Prescriber review: reviewed by a GPhC-registered prescriber, not a scoring script. Payment is taken when you place the order; if the prescriber decides the treatment is not suitable, the order is refunded automatically in full.
  • Dispensing and dispatch: dispensed by our registered pharmacy, with same-day dispatch when ordered by 3pm.
  • Delivery: free next-day tracked delivery in temperature-controlled, discreet packaging. Saturday delivery is £14.99.

You can start your free consultation whenever you are ready.

02 · Eligibility

Who can be prescribed weight loss medication online?

Eligibility online is the same as in person. Mounjaro is licensed for adults with a BMI of 30 or above, or a BMI between 27 and 30 with at least one weight-related condition such as high blood pressure, high cholesterol, obstructive sleep apnoea, cardiovascular disease, prediabetes or type 2 diabetes. It must be used alongside a reduced-calorie diet and increased physical activity.1 A prescriber assesses your BMI, medical history and current medicines before deciding.11

More detail is in our guide to how to qualify for prescription weight loss medications.

03 · Cost

What telehealth treatment costs

The Mounjaro pen is priced per four-week pen: £169.99 at 2.5mg, rising to £329.99 at 15mg, with all six doses in stock. The consultation is free and the price shown is the price paid, with no hidden fees. New customers save £40 on their first order with code FIRST40, and an automatic £25 reorder discount applies to every future order (code DOSE25).

If you step up after 4 weeks on each dose, your first four pens (2.5mg to 10mg) cost £959.96 at standard prices. A first year costs £2,711.88 if you stay on 5mg after your 2.5mg starting pen, up to £3,599.88 if you step up through every dose to 15mg, at standard prices and before discounts. Payment options include Visa/Mastercard, Klarna and pay-monthly plans, with no subscriptions. See Mounjaro prices in the UK for the full picture.

04 · Is telehealth safe and legal?

It is legal and safe when the supplier is a registered UK pharmacy and a prescriber reviews you before anything is dispensed. You can check any pharmacy on the GPhC register; ours is 9012878.12

Be wary of anyone offering to supply without a consultation or prescription. Counterfeit weight loss pens have been the subject of MHRA alerts, and you can report suspected fakes or side effects through the Yellow Card scheme.7 We supply genuine KwikPens through official LillyDirect supply, sourced directly from Eli Lilly's UK distribution. Our guide to telehealth providers that prescribe GLP-1 medicines explains what to look for.

05 · What is GLP-1?

What is GLP-1 medication?

GLP-1 medicines mimic a natural gut hormone that helps regulate appetite. Mounjaro (tirzepatide) goes further: it activates two gut-hormone receptors at once, GIP and GLP-1. Together these help regulate appetite, slow how quickly the stomach empties, and improve the way the body responds to insulin. Most people feel fuller sooner and less hungry between meals, which supports a reduced-calorie diet.1

Mounjaro is a once-weekly injection made by Eli Lilly, supplied in a pre-filled multi-dose KwikPen in six strengths from 2.5mg to 15mg.1 Wider options are covered in effective prescription weight loss medications.

06 · What results to expect

What results can you expect?

In the SURMOUNT-1 trial of 2,539 adults, people taking tirzepatide alongside diet and exercise lost on average 15% of body weight on 5mg, 19.5% on 10mg and 20.9% on 15mg over 72 weeks, compared with 3.1% with lifestyle changes alone.2 For someone starting at 100 kg, 20.9% is about 21 kg.

These are trial averages. Individual results vary, and treatment works alongside a reduced-calorie diet and increased physical activity, not instead of them. At 72 weeks, 85% of participants on 5mg, 89% on 10mg and 91% on 15mg had lost at least 5% of their body weight.2

07 · Telehealth or the NHS?

Telehealth or the NHS?

Mounjaro is available on the NHS, but access is being phased in over several years. NICE recommends it for adults with a BMI of at least 35 plus at least one weight-related condition, and the NHS primary-care rollout began in June 2025 with the highest-need groups first, initially BMI 40+ with four or more qualifying conditions.46 Full rollout is expected to take years, which is why many people who meet the licensed criteria choose regulated private treatment rather than waiting.

An NHS prescription in England carries the standard £9.90 charge per item, while private treatment is paid for in full. Our page on getting Mounjaro on prescription compares the routes.

08 · Your prescriber and your medicines

Telling the prescriber about your medicines

Because Mounjaro slows stomach emptying, it can affect how quickly some oral medicines are absorbed, particularly when you start or increase the dose. Tell your prescriber about everything you take, especially warfarin or other narrow-margin medicines, insulin, or sulfonylureas, where doses may need reducing to avoid low blood sugar. No adjustment is needed for paracetamol.1

Report any new symptom to your prescriber and, if you wish, through the Yellow Card scheme.19 We include ongoing monthly reviews, dose titration and side-effect support. Repeat orders re-check suitability, with no auto-shipping.

09 · Choosing a telehealth service

How to choose a telehealth service

Choose a service that is a registered pharmacy, uses a real prescriber review, and is open about what happens if you are declined. Look for a clear consultation process, genuine branded pens, temperature-controlled delivery and ongoing follow-up.

Ours offers a free consultation reviewed by a GPhC-registered prescriber, free next-day tracked delivery, and the free GLPTrackr companion app for tracking your journey. Support is available Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm, by email at support@everydaymeds.co.uk, account chat or phone on 0333 207 0413. For market context see the prescription weight loss medications market and how telehealth doctors prescribe GLP-1 medicines. You can also browse all weight loss treatments.

Mounjaro (tirzepatide) is a prescription-only medicine, supplied only after an online consultation reviewed by a GPhC-registered prescriber. This page is information, not a substitute for medical advice.

How ordering works

How ordering works at EverydayMeds

Three steps, with our pharmacy team alongside you.

  1. EverydayMeds online consultation on a mobile phone

    Step 1: Online consultation — 5–10 minutes

Complete a confidential health questionnaire covering BMI, medical history and current medication. No payment is taken until you're approved.

  2. A clinician ready to review an online consultation

Step 2: Prescriber review — usually same day

A UK registered prescriber checks your suitability against the licensed criteria (BMI ≥30, or ≥27 with a weight-related condition) and contraindications, and confirms your starting dose.

  3. An EverydayMeds delivery box

    Step 3: Next-day tracked delivery

Dispensed by our GPhC-registered pharmacy in temperature-controlled packaging with needles and a sharps bin included. Orders approved by 3pm for next-day tracked delivery.

Start your free consultation

Prescription and dispatch follow clinical approval. Confirm current delivery options when ordering.

Afterwards you're not on your own: dose-change reviews are built in before each step up, our pharmacist team is available for side-effect questions, and repeat orders re-check suitability rather than auto-shipping.

Your questions, answered

Mounjaro price UK — frequently asked questions

Answers to common questions about Mounjaro prices, NHS access and ongoing treatment.

Ask our pharmacy team
How do you get a prescription for weight loss?
Complete an online health questionnaire, which a GPhC-registered prescriber reviews. They check your BMI, medical history and current medicines. If the medicine is suitable, it is prescribed, dispensed by a registered pharmacy and delivered. Our consultation is free, and unsuitable orders are refunded automatically.
Can you get Mounjaro through telehealth in the UK?
Yes. Mounjaro is a prescription-only medicine that can be supplied after an online consultation reviewed by a GPhC-registered prescriber. It is licensed for adults with a BMI of 30+, or 27–30 with a weight-related condition, alongside a reduced-calorie diet and more physical activity.
What is GLP-1?
GLP-1 is a natural gut hormone that helps regulate appetite. GLP-1 medicines act on its receptor. Mounjaro also activates the GIP receptor, which together help regulate appetite, slow stomach emptying and improve the body's response to insulin. Most people feel fuller sooner and less hungry between meals.
What does Ozempic do to your bowels?
Ozempic is semaglutide licensed for type 2 diabetes only; it is not a UK weight-loss medicine, and a regulated UK pharmacy will not supply it for weight loss. Medicines like Mounjaro slow how quickly the stomach empties, which can affect digestion. Common digestive effects of Mounjaro include nausea, diarrhoea, vomiting and constipation. Seek immediate medical help for severe, persistent stomach pain that may spread to your back, with or without vomiting (possible pancreatitis: stop using Mounjaro); pain in the upper right abdomen, fever or yellowing of skin or eyes (possible gallbladder problems); or signs of a severe allergic reaction such as swelling of the face or throat and difficulty breathing. Tell your prescriber about any new or lasting symptom, and you can report side effects through the Yellow Card scheme.
What happens if you eat sugar while taking Ozempic?
Ozempic is licensed for type 2 diabetes, not weight loss, and no food is banned on Mounjaro, though very fatty, fried or very sugary food makes many people feel worse. Weight loss medicines are meant to be used alongside a reduced-calorie diet and increased physical activity. Ask your prescriber for personalised dietary advice, particularly if you take insulin or sulfonylureas, where doses may need adjusting.
Do I need to see my GP first?
Not to start the online consultation. A GPhC-registered prescriber reviews your questionnaire, your BMI, your medical history and your current medicines. Payment is taken when you place the order; if the prescriber decides the treatment is not suitable, the order is refunded automatically in full.
Is it cheaper than the NHS?
The NHS route has a standard £9.90 prescription charge in England, but access to Mounjaro is being phased in over several years, starting with the highest-need groups. Private treatment is paid for in full, with pens priced per month from £169.99 at the 2.5mg starting dose.
