How our Mounjaro code works

A new customer takes £40 off their first order with code FIRST40, and it applies at any dose. That includes people switching to us from another provider at a higher dose. After that first order, every future order is automatically £25 off the standard price (code DOSE25).

The standard price of one 4-week pen is the figure the discounts come off. The Mounjaro pen at 2.5mg has a standard price of £169.99. With the first-order code, your first 2.5mg pen costs £129.99. If you are switching at 15mg, your first order is £259.99.

The reorder discount is not attached to any single figure. Every later order is £25 off the standard price of whichever dose you are on. Your basket shows the final amount before you pay, and the consultation is free, so the price shown is the price paid.

What a code does not change

A discount code lowers the price. It does not change who can be prescribed Mounjaro. Every order is reviewed by a GPhC-registered prescriber, who checks your BMI, medical history and current medicines. Payment is taken when you place the order; if the prescriber decides the treatment is not suitable, the order is refunded automatically in full.

Mounjaro is a prescription-only medicine. Any seller offering to supply without a consultation or prescription, with or without a code, is not operating as a regulated pharmacy.

Planning what you will spend

Mounjaro starts at 2.5mg and steps up. Standard prices for the first four pens (2.5mg, 5mg, 7.5mg and 10mg) total £879.96. Your first order is £40 less than that standard price, and each later order is £25 less.

A first year (52 weeks, 13 pens) costs £2,399.88 at standard prices if you settle at 5mg, and up to £3,279.88 if you settle at 15mg. If you settle at another dose, work from that dose's monthly price: £244.99 at 7.5mg, £274.99 at 10mg or £289.99 at 12.5mg. A new customer's first order is £40 less, and every later order is £25 less.

05 · Year cost planning

What Mounjaro costs over a year

The monthly price matters less than the total you will spend over the course of treatment. Mounjaro is taken weekly, and each pen covers four weeks, so a year needs 13 pens. How much that costs depends mostly on the dose you settle at, which your prescriber decides with you.

Treatment begins at 2.5mg and can then step up by 2.5mg at a minimum of 4-week intervals, up to a maximum of 15mg weekly, depending on how you respond and tolerate it. The first four pens (2.5mg, 5mg, 7.5mg and 10mg) total £879.96 at standard prices if you step up after at least 4 weeks on each dose. Not everyone goes past 5mg. Some people settle at a middle dose and stay there, so the final figure is personal.

At standard prices, a first year costs £2,399.88 if you settle at 5mg, and up to £3,279.88 if you settle at 15mg. These are before discounts. As a new customer, your first order is £40 less, and every later order is £25 less. For a maintenance dose between those two, use that dose's monthly price: £244.99 at 7.5mg, £274.99 at 10mg and £289.99 at 12.5mg.

Weekly cost is another useful lens. At 2.5mg a week works out at £42.50, at 5mg £47.50, at 7.5mg £61.25, at 10mg £68.75, at 12.5mg £72.50 and at 15mg £75.00. These are standard prices before any discount.

06 · Who can be prescribed

Who can be prescribed Mounjaro

A code is only useful if you are eligible for treatment in the first place. Mounjaro is licensed for weight management in adults with a BMI of 30 or above, or a BMI between 27 and 30 with at least one weight-related condition. Examples include high blood pressure, high cholesterol, obstructive sleep apnoea, cardiovascular disease, prediabetes or type 2 diabetes.¹

It must be used alongside a reduced-calorie diet and increased physical activity. It is not a replacement for them. A prescriber assesses your BMI, medical history and current medicines before deciding whether it is suitable for you.¹¹

Tell the prescriber about every medicine you take. Because Mounjaro slows stomach emptying, it can affect how quickly some oral medicines are absorbed, particularly when you start treatment or increase the dose, so mention warfarin or other narrow-margin medicines especially. If you take insulin or sulfonylureas, doses may need adjusting because of the risk of low blood sugar. Seek immediate medical help for severe, persistent stomach pain that may spread to your back, with or without vomiting (possible pancreatitis); pain in the upper right abdomen, fever or yellowing of skin/eyes (possible gallbladder problems); or signs of a severe allergic reaction such as swelling of the face or throat and difficulty breathing. Mounjaro slows stomach emptying, which can reduce how well oral contraceptive pills are absorbed.⁷ The SmPC advises switching to a non-oral method, or adding a barrier method (such as condoms), for 4 weeks after starting Mounjaro and for 4 weeks after each dose increase.¹

07 · How it works

How Mounjaro works and what trials found

Mounjaro is the brand name for tirzepatide, a once-weekly injectable prescription medicine made by Eli Lilly. In the UK it is licensed for weight management in adults and for type 2 diabetes. It comes as a pre-filled multi-dose pen (KwikPen) in six strengths: 2.5mg, 5mg, 7.5mg, 10mg, 12.5mg and 15mg.¹

Tirzepatide activates two natural gut-hormone receptors at once: GIP and GLP-1. Together these help regulate appetite, slow how quickly the stomach empties, and improve the way the body responds to insulin. In practice, most people feel fuller sooner and less hungry between meals, which supports a reduced-calorie diet. This dual action distinguishes it from single-action GLP-1 medicines such as semaglutide (Wegovy/Ozempic).¹

In the SURMOUNT-1 trial of 2,539 adults, people taking tirzepatide alongside diet and exercise lost on average 15% of their body weight on 5mg, 19.5% on 10mg and 20.9% on 15mg over 72 weeks. People using lifestyle changes alone lost 3.1%. These are trial averages, and individual results vary.²

As a worked example, for someone starting at 100 kg, 20.9% is about 21 kg. Trial averages do not predict your own result, and treatment works alongside a reduced-calorie diet and increased physical activity, not instead of them.²

At 72 weeks, 85% of participants on 5mg, 89% on 10mg and 91% on 15mg had lost at least 5% of their body weight. Half of participants on 10mg and 57% on 15mg lost at least 20% of their body weight.²

Tirzepatide has a half-life of about five days. After a final dose it takes roughly 4–5 weeks to clear the system. There is no way to speed this up, and nothing needs doing while it clears.¹

08 · NHS or private

NHS or private: the honest picture

Mounjaro is available on the NHS, but access is being phased in over several years. NICE recommends it for adults with a BMI of at least 35 plus at least one weight-related condition. The NHS primary-care rollout began in June 2025 with the highest-need groups first, initially BMI 40+ with four or more qualifying conditions.⁴⁶

Full rollout is expected to take years. That is why many people who meet the licensed criteria choose regulated private treatment rather than waiting. The NHS guide to the medicine explains the route in more detail.⁵

The practical question is not NHS versus private as a matter of principle. It is whether you qualify for NHS treatment now, and if not, whether private treatment is affordable and safe for you. Ask your GP whether you fall into a group being prioritised. If you do, NHS prescribing means you would pay only the standard NHS arrangements rather than the private pen price.

If you choose private treatment, a code can reduce what you pay, but the safety checks are the same as on the NHS: a clinical consultation, a prescriber's decision and a genuine supply. A pharmacy that skips those steps to offer a larger discount is not a bargain.

Private treatment also gives you flexibility. You can order when you are ready, and our reviews are monthly with dose titration managed by the prescribing team. There is no subscription lock-in, and repeat orders re-check suitability rather than shipping automatically.

When your circumstances change, for example if your BMI or conditions change, it is worth asking your GP again whether you now meet the NHS criteria. Many people use private treatment for a period and revisit the NHS route later. Nothing in a pharmacy discount code should discourage you from doing that.

09 · Spotting fakes

Spotting fake pens and unsafe sellers

The biggest risk in a hunt for a cheap code is a seller that is not a pharmacy. The MHRA has seized thousands of fake weight-loss pens in the UK and has issued alerts after falsified Mounjaro pens were identified. Fake pens have caused hospitalisations, and some contained insulin rather than tirzepatide.⁷

Only buy from a pharmacy you can verify on the GPhC register, never from social media, beauty salons or unverified websites. Genuine treatment always involves a prescription and a clinical consultation.¹² You can check our registration, number 9012878, directly on the GPhC site.

Genuine UK stock is supplied through Lilly's official distribution to licensed pharmacies, and every pen carries a batch number and expiry date that can be checked. A genuine UK Mounjaro pen comes from a registered pharmacy with a batch number and expiry date. It arrives cold-chain packaged, and the solution inside is clear and colourless. Do not use a pen that has been frozen, looks cloudy or discoloured, has particles in it, is past its expiry, has been above 30°C, or has been out of the fridge for more than 30 days in use.¹³

If supply or packaging ever seems wrong, check the pharmacy on the GPhC register and contact the pharmacy before injecting. Report any suspected fake or any side effect through the MHRA Yellow Card scheme.⁷

Warning signs include a seller offering to supply without a consultation or prescription, prices far below everyone else's, or payment requests by bank transfer to a private account. A code that promises dramatic savings from an unverified seller should make you more suspicious, not less.

10 · Using pens safely

Using each pen as designed

Each Mounjaro KwikPen is designed and licensed to deliver exactly four weekly doses.¹

Use the pen as designed, then dispose of it.¹

Storage matters too. Keep unopened pens in the fridge until first use, and they keep until the printed expiry date. Once you start using a pen, it can be kept out of the fridge at a temperature not above 30°C for up to 30 days after first use, and must then be thrown away. The safe ways to spend less are a first-order code and the automatic reorder discount. Anything that changes how the pen is used is not a saving; it is a risk.

11 · Checking the price

How to check a price before using any code

Before you type any code into a checkout, run through a short checklist. It takes a few minutes and protects you from the most common problems.

First, confirm the pharmacy's registration on the GPhC register. A registered pharmacy has a number you can look up, and ours is 9012878. If a seller cannot give you one, stop there.

Second, compare like with like. Check the same dose and the same pen across providers. Across the UK pharmacies we track, the gap between providers for the same dose is £20 at its smallest and £36.03 at its largest, checked 25 October 2026. A larger gap is worth a closer look at what the cheaper provider includes.

Third, read what the price includes. Fourth, look at the dose you will actually need. Most people begin at 2.5mg, so a low starting price tells you little about later months. Finally, Eli Lilly raised the UK list price of Mounjaro in 2025.
