01 · Buying 10mg
Where to buy Mounjaro 10mg in the UK
You can buy Mounjaro 10mg from a UK online pharmacy after a consultation reviewed by a GPhC-registered prescriber. At EverydayMeds all six strengths, 2.5mg to 15mg, are in stock through official LillyDirect supply, which means genuine KwikPens sourced from Eli Lilly's UK distribution. You can see the current 10mg price and start on the Mounjaro pen product page.
The standard price of one 10mg pen is £274.99. A pen holds four weekly doses, so that works out at £68.75 per week. A new customer gets £40 off their first order at any dose, including 10mg, with code FIRST40. After that, every future order has an automatic £25 reorder discount (code DOSE25). The consultation is free, and the price shown is the price paid, with no hidden fees.
If you are already on 10mg with another provider and want to switch, the same first-order discount applies. A prescriber still reviews your history, so have your current dose and the date of your last injection to hand.
02 · What you pay for
What the 10mg price includes
The price covers the medicine, dispensing by our registered pharmacy, and free next-day tracked delivery in discreet, temperature-controlled packaging (DPD). Needles, a sharps bin and injection guidance come with every order. Saturday delivery costs £14.99. We dispatch the same day when you order by 3pm.
Ongoing monthly reviews, dose-titration and follow-up assessments by the prescribing team are part of the service, as is side-effect support. Our support team is available Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm, on 0333 207 0413 or at support@everydaymeds.co.uk. You can pay by Visa or Mastercard, Klarna or pay-monthly options. There are no subscriptions, and repeat orders re-check suitability, so nothing ships automatically.
Across the UK pharmacies we track, the cheapest and dearest Mounjaro pens (all doses) were £143.96 and £319.99 when we checked on 24 October 2026. For the same dose, the gap between providers ranged from £20 to £36.03. That is why we show dated figures rather than asking you to take our word. If you want to compare before you decide, our 10mg provider price comparison sets out the detail, and the lowest-price 10mg round-up covers the budget angle.
03 · How to order
How ordering works in three steps
Ordering takes three steps, and a GPhC-registered prescriber reviews every order before anything is dispensed.
- Free online consultation. A short health questionnaire, with no charge and no obligation. Start your free consultation to begin.
- Prescriber review. A GPhC-registered prescriber reviews your answers; it is not a scoring script. Payment is taken when you place the order; if the prescriber decides the treatment is not suitable, the order is refunded automatically in full.
- Dispensing and delivery. Our registered pharmacy dispenses your pen. Order by 3pm for same-day dispatch and free next-day tracked delivery.
One honest caveat: a prescriber decides whether 10mg is right for you. If you have never taken Mounjaro, you will be started on 2.5mg, not 10mg, because that is how the licence works.
For wider context, our guide to all weight loss treatments sets Mounjaro alongside the other options we supply.
04 · Where 10mg sits
Where 10mg sits on the Mounjaro dose ladder
Mounjaro 10mg is the fourth of six strengths, and nobody starts there. Mounjaro is the brand name for tirzepatide, a once-weekly injectable prescription medicine made by Eli Lilly. In the UK it is licensed for weight management in adults and for type 2 diabetes. It comes as a pre-filled multi-dose pen, the KwikPen, in six strengths: 2.5mg, 5mg, 7.5mg, 10mg, 12.5mg and 15mg.1
Everyone starts on 2.5mg once a week. That starting dose is about letting your body adjust, not about weight loss itself. After at least 4 weeks the dose increases to 5mg. It can then step up by 2.5mg at a minimum of 4-week intervals (7.5mg, then 10mg, then 12.5mg) up to a maximum of 15mg weekly, depending on how you respond and tolerate it.1
That means the earliest anyone can reach 10mg is after the 2.5mg, 5mg and 7.5mg pens, which is 12 weeks of treatment. Many people settle at a maintenance dose of 5mg, 10mg or 15mg, and higher is not automatically better. Your prescriber will guide the right pace.1
If you are new to Mounjaro, you will not need the 10mg pen for at least 12 weeks. You are better placed asking whether the whole range is available, since you will need each strength in turn. Our supply covers all six doses. If you want to see what the middle of the range is like, our page on the 10mg dose goes into more detail.
A pen contains four weekly doses at its labelled strength. You can see how each pen is priced on the product page, and our standard prices are given as £169.99 for 2.5mg, £189.99 for 5mg, £244.99 for 7.5mg, £274.99 for 10mg, £289.99 for 12.5mg and £299.99 for 15mg, each per month.
If you are changing provider, you can usually continue from your current strength, subject to prescriber review. If you have had a long gap since your last injection, the prescriber may suggest a lower dose rather than restarting at 10mg. That is a clinical judgement made case by case, so tell the prescribing team honestly when you last injected.
The short version is this. 10mg is a mid-to-high maintenance dose reached by stepping up, not a dose you choose from a menu. If a seller offers to supply it to a new patient without a consultation or prescription, treat that as a warning sign.
05 · What 10mg can deliver
What the SURMOUNT-1 trial shows for 10mg
In SURMOUNT-1, adults taking 10mg lost 19.5% of their body weight on average over 72 weeks. The trial enrolled 2,539 adults. People taking tirzepatide alongside diet and exercise lost on average 15% of their body weight on 5mg, 19.5% on 10mg and 20.9% on 15mg, compared with 3.1% with lifestyle changes alone.2
These are trial averages. Individual results vary, and treatment works alongside a reduced-calorie diet and increased physical activity, not instead of them. Trial averages do not predict your own result.2
A worked example makes the percentage concrete. For someone starting at 100 kg, 19.5% is about 19.5 kg. For someone starting at 120 kg it is about 23.4 kg. That is straight arithmetic of the trial percentage, not a promise and not a timetable.
At 72 weeks, 85% of participants on 5mg, 89% on 10mg and 91% on 15mg had lost at least 5% of their body weight. Half of participants on 10mg, and 57% on 15mg, lost at least 20% of their body weight.2
Realistic pace
Weight loss on Mounjaro is gradual by design. The first weeks on 2.5mg are an adjustment phase and losses are usually modest. Most measurable progress builds from 5mg onward, month by month. The trial measured results at 72 weeks, so think in months, not days, and judge progress by trend, not individual weigh-ins.1
Your prescriber reviews how you are responding. If you have lost less than 5% of your starting weight after 6 months on the highest dose you can tolerate, your prescriber will discuss whether continuing or stopping is right for you.1
What the first weeks feel like
Experiences differ widely. Some people notice an appetite change and early loss in week one; others feel little until a higher dose, and both are normal. Early loss includes water weight, so the trend over weeks matters more than any single weigh-in. Mild nausea, altered appetite and tiredness in the first days after each injection are the commonest early effects and usually settle.1
If you want to see what people describe at each stage, our one-month progress guide sets out realistic expectations. It does not replace the trial data or your prescriber's judgement.
06 · Checking availability
How to check whether 10mg is actually available
The only reliable check is the live stock indicator on the product page of a registered pharmacy, followed by the prescriber's approval. At EverydayMeds, all six doses are in stock as of October 2026, and that wording updates live, so you do not need to rely on a page that may have been written weeks ago.
Here is a practical checklist for any provider you are considering.
- Look for a live indicator, not a banner. A static line saying a dose is available tells you nothing about today.
- Find the registration. A UK pharmacy should list its GPhC registration number, and you can look it up on the public register. Ours is 9012878.
- Ask about supply. Official LillyDirect supply means the pens come directly from Eli Lilly's UK distribution as genuine KwikPens.
- Check what is checked. A real supplier reviews your suitability before supplying a prescription medicine. If no one is asking about your health, that is a red flag.
- Read the delivery terms. Mounjaro must stay cool in transit, so temperature-controlled packaging matters.
If you are searching for a particular supplier, our pages on which providers list the 10mg pen and on finding 10mg locally cover what to look for in high-street and online options. If you are worried about gaps in supply, our pages on whether the pen is out of stock and whether it is on backorder explain how to read each signal.
Chemist Warehouse, Asda and other names
People often ask about named retailers, including Chemist Warehouse and Asda. Check their listed registration, ask them directly about the dose you need, and compare the total you would pay including delivery.
What if you need 10mg and it is not showing
If any provider shows 10mg as unavailable, do not buy from an unregulated seller to fill the gap, and do not stretch your current pen. Talk to the prescribing team. That is a clinical decision, and the pen's design does not support altering the dose by yourself.
The same applies if you are mid-titration and worried about timing. The ladder has minimum intervals, not maximum ones, so a short wait for the right pen is safer than improvising.
07 · Eligibility and NHS
Who can be prescribed Mounjaro, privately or on the NHS
Mounjaro is licensed for weight management in adults with a BMI of 30 or above, or a BMI between 27 and 30 with at least one weight-related condition. Examples include high blood pressure, high cholesterol, obstructive sleep apnoea, cardiovascular disease, prediabetes or type 2 diabetes. It must be used alongside a reduced-calorie diet and increased physical activity.1
A prescriber will assess your BMI, medical history and current medicines before deciding whether it is suitable for you.1 That is the reason the consultation exists, and it is why the answer to "can I buy 10mg" is always "after the review". The prescriber's decision includes which dose to begin with, and for new patients that is 2.5mg.
Private route
You complete a free online consultation and a GPhC-registered prescriber reviews it; payment is taken when you place the order, and if the treatment is not suitable your order is refunded automatically in full. Repeat orders re-check suitability. The aim is that each pen supplied matches where you are in your treatment, not just that you have paid for it.
NHS route
Mounjaro is available on the NHS, but access is being phased in over several years. NICE recommends it for adults with a BMI of at least 35 plus at least one weight-related condition. The NHS primary-care rollout began in June 2025 with the highest-need groups first, initially BMI 40+ with four or more qualifying conditions. Full rollout is expected to take years, which is why many people who meet the licensed criteria choose regulated private treatment rather than waiting.46
If you are not sure which group you fall into, ask your GP. NHS prescribing and private prescribing are separate routes, and the NHS pages explain the medicine and who it is for.5
Interactions your prescriber will ask about
Tell the prescriber about every medicine you take. Mounjaro can reduce absorption of oral contraceptives because it slows stomach emptying, so ask what protection you need.7 The SmPC advises switching to a non-oral method, or adding a barrier method (such as condoms), for 4 weeks after starting Mounjaro and for 4 weeks after each dose increase.1 If you use insulin or sulfonylureas, doses may need adjusting because of the risk of low blood sugar, and your prescriber will advise.1
Three-month supplies
People often ask about a 3-month supply. Each pen holds four weekly doses, so three months is about three pens. Because repeat orders re-check suitability and nothing ships automatically, we suggest asking our support team how they handle multiple pens in your case, rather than assuming. Reviews at each step are part of the safety design, particularly while the dose is rising.
08 · Injecting 10mg
How to inject Mounjaro 10mg: the practical rules
Mounjaro is injected under the skin (subcutaneously) once a week, on the same day each week, at any time of day, with or without food. Licensed injection sites are the stomach area (at least 5cm from the belly button), the front of the thigh, or the back of the upper arm if someone else gives the injection. Rotate the site with each dose. Each KwikPen contains four weekly doses.113
Needles, a sharps bin and injection guidance come with every order, and you should follow the pen's instructions step by step.
Reading the dial
The pen is set by turning the dose knob until the dose indicator shows the correct dose in the window.
Best time of day
There is no best time of day. Mounjaro works the same morning or evening, with or without food. What matters is the same day each week. Pick a day and time you will remember. Many people choose a weekend morning so that early side effects fall on days off.1
Missed dose
If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you can within 4 days (96 hours) of the scheduled time, then carry on with your usual day. If more than 4 days have passed, skip the missed dose entirely and take the next one on your normal day. Never take two doses within 3 days of each other.1
Changing your injection day
You can change your weekly injection day if needed, as long as at least 3 days (72 hours) have passed since your last dose.1 If you are unsure how to fit this around travel or shifts, ask the prescribing team before you adjust.
Moving up to 10mg
When you move from 7.5mg to 10mg, you simply start the new pen on your usual day.
09 · Storage and travel
Storing and travelling with your 10mg pen
Keep Mounjaro pens in a fridge at 2–8°C and never freeze them. Once in use, a pen can be kept out of the fridge not above 30°C for up to 30 days, which is useful for short trips, after which it should be discarded. Keep the pen cap on to protect it from light, and never use a pen that has been frozen.113
Because a pen holds four weekly doses and the in-use limit is 30 days (not above 30°C), a four-dose pen fits comfortably inside the window if you inject on schedule. If a pen has been open for 30 days, discard it even if some medicine appears to remain.
Unopened pens
Store unopened pens in the fridge until first use. They keep until the expiry date printed on the box. If an unopened pen has been out of the fridge, for example after a delivery delay, check with the pharmacy before using it rather than relying on a remembered day limit. Figures circulating online often come from other countries' labels, so the patient information leaflet and the pharmacy are your reference points.13
This is also why our deliveries use temperature-controlled packaging and free next-day tracked delivery. Put your pen in the fridge as soon as it arrives.
Flying and holidays
You can fly with Mounjaro. Carry pens in hand luggage, because hold luggage can fall below freezing, ideally in a cool bag with the prescription label or a copy of your prescription. In-use pens tolerate up to 30 days not above 30°C, so most holidays need no special arrangements. For hot climates use an insulated pouch. Check destination rules for travelling with prescription injectables before you fly.1
Practical routines
- Keep the box and the dispensing label for the pen in use so that you can show it if asked.
- Do not leave pens in a parked car, a windowsill or a checked bag.
- Do not use a pen that looks damaged, or has been frozen. Contact the pharmacy instead.
- If a delivery arrives warm or damaged, contact us within 3 days, as faulty, damaged or wrong items are the exception to our no-returns policy on dispensed medicines.
Good storage also protects your investment. At £274.99 per month for the standard 10mg pen, a spoiled pen is an avoidable cost, and a few minutes of planning before a trip is cheaper than a replacement.
10 · Safety and stopping
Safety, counterfeit risk and what to avoid
The biggest avoidable risk with 10mg is buying from a seller who is not a registered UK pharmacy. The MHRA publishes counterfeit medicine alerts and runs the Yellow Card scheme for reporting problems.7 Real supply needs a prescription after a consultation. A seller offering to supply without a consultation or prescription, promising specific results or selling pens through social media, should be avoided. Check any pharmacy on the GPhC register; ours is 9012878.
What to avoid while taking Mounjaro:
- Altering doses outside the licence. Altering doses means unknown dosing accuracy and no safety data.1
- Taking two doses within 3 days of each other.1
- Using a pen that has been frozen.1
- Relying on the contraceptive pill alone: Mounjaro can reduce how well oral contraceptive pills are absorbed, so switch to a non-oral method, or add a barrier method (such as condoms), for 4 weeks after starting Mounjaro and for 4 weeks after each dose increase.7
For anything else, such as food, alcohol or other medicines, ask your prescriber. Report any suspected side effect through the Yellow Card scheme.19
Stopping 10mg
You can stop at any time, but talk to your prescriber first. Tirzepatide has a half-life of about five days, so after a final dose it takes roughly 4–5 weeks to clear the system. There is no way to speed this up, and nothing needs doing while it clears.1
After the price increase: other options
If cost is the concern, talk to your prescriber about the licensed options rather than unregulated products. Wegovy (semaglutide) is a once-weekly alternative with pens of 0.25mg, 0.5mg, 1mg, 1.7mg and 2.4mg, stepping up after at least 4 weeks to the 2.4mg maintenance dose from week 17.18 Liraglutide, for example Saxenda, is a daily injection at 6mg per millilitre. Low-cost supplements are available cheaply without assessment, but they carry no clinical oversight and are not equivalent medicines. Your prescriber can discuss whether switching is appropriate.
11 · Serious side effects
Serious side effects: when to get help straight away
Serious side effects are uncommon but need urgent attention. Seek immediate medical help for: severe, persistent stomach pain that may spread to your back, with or without vomiting (possible pancreatitis); pain in the upper right abdomen, fever or yellowing of skin/eyes (possible gallbladder problems); or signs of a severe allergic reaction such as swelling of the face or throat and difficulty breathing. If you take insulin or a sulfonylurea alongside Mounjaro, watch for low blood sugar (shakiness, sweating, confusion) — your prescriber may need to adjust those medicines.1
How ordering works
How ordering works at EverydayMeds
Three steps, with our pharmacy team alongside you.
Step 1: Online consultation — 5–10 minutes
Complete a confidential health questionnaire covering BMI, medical history and current medication. No payment is taken until you're approved.
Step 2: Prescriber review — usually same day
A UK registered prescriber checks your suitability against the licensed criteria (BMI ≥30, or ≥27 with a weight-related condition) and contraindications, and confirms your starting dose.
Step 3: Next-day tracked delivery
Dispensed by our GPhC-registered pharmacy in temperature-controlled packaging with needles and a sharps bin included. Orders approved by 3pm for next-day tracked delivery.
Prescription and dispatch follow clinical approval. Confirm current delivery options when ordering.
Afterwards you're not on your own: dose-change reviews are built in before each step up, our pharmacist team is available for side-effect questions, and repeat orders re-check suitability rather than auto-shipping.
