01 · What it costs

What does Mounjaro cost from an online pharmacy?

A first 2.5mg pen costs £129.99 with code FIRST40, against a standard price of £169.99. Each pen lasts four weeks. You can see every dose on the Mounjaro pen page, where the live prices are shown. All six doses are in stock.

A new customer gets £40 off their first order at any dose with code FIRST40. That includes people switching to us from another provider at a higher dose: a first 15mg order is £289.99. After that, every future order is £25 off the standard price (code DOSE25). The consultation is free, and the price shown is the price paid.

Across the UK pharmacies we track (checked 11 October 2026), Mounjaro pens at any dose range from £143.96 to £339.00. Starting 2.5mg pens range from £143.96 to £179.99. For the same dose, the gap between providers runs from £27 to £41. Boots' Mounjaro dose prices run from £179.00 to £339.00.

02 · Planning

What does a year of Mounjaro cost?

Mounjaro starts at 2.5mg and steps up, so the cost depends on where you settle. Year and monthly costs are shown at standard prices, before any discount. A new customer's first order is £40 less, and every later order is £25 less.

StageLengthStandard cost

Your prescriber decides whether to step up and where you stay, based on your response and tolerance. Payment by Visa or Mastercard is accepted, as are Klarna and pay-monthly options. There are no subscriptions, and repeat orders re-check suitability, with no auto-shipping.

03 · Ordering

How does ordering Mounjaro online work?

Ordering takes three steps; payment is taken when you place the order, and if the prescriber decides the treatment is not suitable, the order is refunded automatically in full.

  • Free online consultation. You complete a short health questionnaire with no charge and no obligation. Start your free consultation.
  • Prescriber review. A GPhC-registered prescriber reviews your answers, not a scoring script. Unsuitable orders are refunded automatically.
  • Dispensing and delivery. Our registered pharmacy dispenses your pen. Orders placed by 3pm are dispatched the same day, with free next-day tracked delivery in discreet, temperature-controlled packaging. Saturday delivery is £14.99.

Needles, a sharps bin and injection guidance come with every order. Our team also provides ongoing monthly reviews, dose-titration and follow-up assessments, and side-effect support. If you want the full ordering page, go to buy Mounjaro online.

Because we supply through official LillyDirect channels, the pens are genuine KwikPens sourced directly from Eli Lilly's UK distribution. Over 100,000 customers have been supported by EverydayMeds on their weight loss journey.

04 · What Mounjaro is

What is Mounjaro and how is it supplied?

Mounjaro is the brand name for tirzepatide, a once-weekly injectable prescription medicine made by Eli Lilly. In the UK it is licensed for weight management in adults and for type 2 diabetes.1 It is supplied as a pre-filled multi-dose pen, called a KwikPen, in six strengths: 2.5mg, 5mg, 7.5mg, 10mg, 12.5mg and 15mg.1

The six strengths exist because treatment is built up gradually. A pen is a four-week supply at one weekly dose, so one pen equals one month of treatment.

Because Mounjaro is a prescription-only medicine, a legitimate online pharmacy cannot simply sell it to anyone who asks. It is supplied only after an online consultation reviewed by a GPhC-registered prescriber. The prescriber considers your medical history, your current medicines and your goals before deciding whether it suits you. If it does not, that is a legitimate outcome, and with us a declined consultation is refunded automatically in full.

The word ePharmacy simply describes a registered pharmacy that dispenses and delivers by post or courier after a remote consultation. The medicine is the same genuine KwikPen you would get from a high-street pharmacy. What changes is the route to it: a questionnaire, a prescriber's review and a delivery to your door instead of an appointment and a queue.

It is worth knowing how the licence shapes what a prescriber can offer. Our guide to the Mounjaro licence explains what the UK authorisation covers. The licensed uses are weight management in adults and type 2 diabetes, and a prescriber works within them.

If you are curious about the practical side of what arrives, our page on Mounjaro boxes shows what the packaging looks like. Each order comes with needles, a sharps bin and injection guidance, so you do not need to buy anything separately to start.

One question we see often is whether the medicine is a real, active treatment or a trial-style dummy. It is an active, licensed medicine, and our explainer on whether Mounjaro is a placebo covers where that confusion comes from. Another common question, for those with dietary requirements, is answered in our guide on whether Mounjaro is halal.

05 · How it works

How does Mounjaro work?

Tirzepatide is the first treatment of its kind to activate two natural gut-hormone receptors at once: GIP and GLP-1.1 Together these help regulate appetite, slow how quickly the stomach empties, and improve the way the body responds to insulin.1

In practice, most people feel fuller sooner and less hungry between meals, which supports a reduced-calorie diet. The medicine is not a substitute for that diet or for physical activity. It is used alongside them, and the prescriber will frame your plan that way.

This dual action is what distinguishes Mounjaro from single-action GLP-1 medicines such as semaglutide, which is sold as Wegovy and Ozempic.

Tirzepatide has a half-life of about five days. After a final dose it takes roughly 4–5 weeks to clear the system. There is no way to speed this up, and nothing needs doing while it clears.

Because the medicine slows stomach emptying, it can reduce absorption of oral contraceptives. The SmPC advises switching to a non-oral method, or adding a barrier method (such as condoms), for 4 weeks after starting Mounjaro and for 4 weeks after each dose increase.1 Your prescriber will discuss this with you, and the MHRA has published guidance on it.7 If you take insulin or sulfonylureas, doses may need adjusting because of the risk of low blood sugar, so tell the prescriber about every medicine you take.

If you take other prescription medicines, it is sensible to read around specific combinations before your consultation. We have short guides on Mounjaro and nortriptyline and Mounjaro and clonazepam. These guides do not replace the prescriber's review. Always list everything you take, including over-the-counter products and supplements, when you complete the questionnaire.

The mechanism also explains why a prescriber will review you regularly rather than send a pen and disappear. Doses are stepped up as you tolerate them, and the team's monthly reviews, titration and follow-up assessments are part of the service.

06 · Who can have it

Who can take Mounjaro, and who cannot?

Mounjaro is licensed for weight management in adults with a BMI of 30 or above, or a BMI between 27 and 30 with at least one weight-related condition.1 Qualifying conditions include high blood pressure, high cholesterol, obstructive sleep apnoea, cardiovascular disease, prediabetes and type 2 diabetes.1 It must be used alongside a reduced-calorie diet and increased physical activity.1

A prescriber assesses your BMI, medical history and current medicines before deciding whether it is suitable.1 Meeting the BMI threshold is therefore necessary but not enough. The prescriber's judgement about your wider health is what counts.

People often ask who cannot take Mounjaro. You should not take Mounjaro if you are allergic to tirzepatide or any of its ingredients, and it should not be used during pregnancy or while trying to conceive.113 Your prescriber will take extra care, or may recommend against treatment, if you have a history of pancreatitis, severe gut or digestive disease, diabetic retinopathy, or gallbladder problems. Always share your full medical history and medicine list during your consultation. Mounjaro must not be used during pregnancy, and it should be stopped at least one month before trying to conceive. If you become pregnant during treatment, stop the medicine and tell your prescriber promptly.

That openness protects you. Payment is taken when you place the order; if the prescriber decides the treatment is not suitable, the order is refunded automatically in full. If you are already on treatment elsewhere and want to switch, include your current dose and the date of your last injection so the prescriber can plan a safe starting point.

Eligibility is not a one-off check. Repeat orders re-check suitability, which means your circumstances are looked at again as your weight, health and medicines change. If something changes between orders, such as a new diagnosis or a new prescription, tell the team rather than waiting for the next questionnaire.

If you are under 18, pregnant or planning a pregnancy, or you are unsure about your own situation, speak to a doctor or pharmacist before ordering. Our guide to weight loss treatments can help you compare the options a prescriber may discuss, and the full eligibility decision always rests with them.

Finally, do not use supplements or leftover prescriptions as a stand-in. Medicines prescribed for someone else should never be used, and anyone offering to supply without a consultation or prescription is not operating legitimately.

07 · What results look like

What results can you expect from Mounjaro?

In the SURMOUNT-1 trial of 2,539 adults, people taking tirzepatide alongside diet and exercise lost on average 15% of their body weight on 5mg, 19.5% on 10mg and 20.9% on 15mg over 72 weeks, compared with 3.1% with lifestyle changes alone.2 These are trial averages. Individual results vary, and treatment works alongside a reduced-calorie diet and increased physical activity, not instead of them.2

The trial also reported how many people reached particular thresholds. At 72 weeks, 85% of participants on 5mg, 89% on 10mg and 91% on 15mg had lost at least 5% of their body weight.2 Half of participants on 10mg and 57% on 15mg lost at least 20% of their body weight.2

To make the percentages concrete, take a worked example. For someone starting at 100 kg, 20.9% is about 21 kg and 15% is about 15 kg. That is straight arithmetic on a trial average, not a forecast for you. Trial averages do not predict your own result.

Your prescriber and the monthly reviews are the place to talk about what you are noticing and whether your dose should change.

The pen sizes matter here too. The trial's headline figures sit at specific doses, and the licensed approach is to build up gradually. Starting at 2.5mg is not the dose that produced those averages. It is the first step on the way. Your prescriber chooses whether and when to increase the dose, and some people stay at a lower dose that suits them.

A useful way to set expectations is to treat the numbers as the upper context and your own tracking as the real measure. Our free companion app, GLPTrackr, is available on iOS and Android for tracking a GLP-1 journey. Pair that with your monthly review and you have your own data to bring to the prescriber, rather than relying on averages from a trial you were not part of.

08 · NHS versus private

Can you get Mounjaro on the NHS or only privately?

Mounjaro is available on the NHS, but access is being phased in over several years.6 NICE recommends it for adults with a BMI of at least 35 plus at least one weight-related condition.4 The NHS primary-care rollout began in June 2025 with the highest-need groups first, initially BMI 40+ with four or more qualifying conditions.6 Full rollout is expected to take years.6

The NHS route is real and, for those who qualify, it is the one to explore first. Its criteria are narrower than the licence, though. The licensed private criteria start at a BMI of 30, or 27 with a weight-related condition. Many people who meet the licensed criteria but not yet the NHS ones therefore choose regulated private treatment rather than waiting.

People ask whether their GP can prescribe tirzepatide. Where you meet the NHS criteria and services are available in your area, the route is through your GP or local weight-management service. Access varies by area as the rollout proceeds, so ask your GP practice what applies to you. The NHS guide to tirzepatide explains the medicine and its uses.5

Choosing private does not mean cutting your GP out. It helps to tell your GP what you are taking, because they hold your wider medical record. Treatment through an ePharmacy should still involve a proper consultation, a prescriber who reviews you, and ongoing monitoring, which is what our monthly reviews provide.

The costs differ in kind. An NHS prescription for a medicine in England carries the £9.90 prescription charge unless you are exempt, though NHS weight-management provision may be arranged differently by the service. Private treatment is priced per pen. Ask your GP or the weight-management service how charges apply in your case.

If you are on an NHS waiting list or being assessed, you are free to continue exploring options, and you can move between routes. What matters is that whichever route you choose involves a qualified prescriber, a genuine product and a plan for monitoring, not simply the lowest price on a screen.

09 · Why prices differ

Why is Mounjaro expensive, and why do pharmacy prices differ?

Mounjaro costs more than many readers expect partly because Eli Lilly raised its UK list price in September 2025.10

Pharmacy sell prices vary because of confidential discounts between suppliers and pharmacies. That is why the same pen can be priced differently across providers.

Across the UK pharmacies we track, checked 11 October 2026, Mounjaro pens at any dose range from £143.96 to £339.00. For starting 2.5mg pens the range is £143.96 to £179.99. For the same dose, the gap between two providers can be as small as £27 or as large as £41.

A better approach is to compare like for like: the same dose, the same pen size, delivery costs, whether a consultation fee applies and whether the pharmacy is on the GPhC register. For us, the consultation is free and delivery is free next-day, and the price shown is the price paid.

Discounts are the second lever. A new customer saves £40 on their first order with code FIRST40, and an automatic £25 reorder discount applies to every future order (code DOSE25). Because the discount applies at any dose, this also helps people switching from another provider at a higher dose.

Finally, Wegovy is another option some people compare. A first Wegovy pen is £99.99 as a first-order price. The two medicines work differently and a prescriber can explain which suits you. Cost is only one factor, and tolerability and your health history count for more than a small monthly difference.

10 · Safety and checks

How do you check an online pharmacy is safe?

Check that the pharmacy appears on the GPhC register, which is the public list of registered pharmacies and pharmacy professionals.12 EverydayMeds is registered under number 9012878, and you can look up our GPhC entry yourself. A registered pharmacy supplies prescription-only medicines only after a consultation and a prescriber's review.

Counterfeit medicines are a real risk with weight-loss injections. The MHRA publishes counterfeit medicine alerts and runs the Yellow Card scheme.7 Be wary of any seller offering to supply without a consultation or prescription, of social-media sellers, and of sites with dramatic weight-loss claims. Our pens come through official LillyDirect supply, sourced from Eli Lilly's UK distribution, and every one is a genuine KwikPen.

People ask whether you can buy Mounjaro on Amazon pharmacy. We cannot speak for other sellers' services. The test is the same wherever you look: Mounjaro is prescription-only, so any legitimate supplier must carry out a consultation and a prescriber's review, and you should be able to confirm its registration on the GPhC register.

Serious side effects are uncommon but need urgent attention. Seek immediate medical help for: severe, persistent stomach pain that may spread to your back, with or without vomiting (possible pancreatitis); pain in the upper right abdomen, fever or yellowing of skin/eyes (possible gallbladder problems); or signs of a severe allergic reaction such as swelling of the face or throat and difficulty breathing.113 Tell your prescriber about your history, and about any new or lasting symptom.

Any suspected side effect can be reported through the MHRA Yellow Card scheme.19 Reporting helps regulators monitor a medicine's safety. Our team also provides side-effect support during your monthly reviews, so you are not left to work things out alone.

For the mix of medicines you take, always declare them. Short guides such as Mounjaro and nortriptyline are a starting point for questions to raise, not a replacement for the prescriber's decision.

Support is available Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm, by email at support@everydaymeds.co.uk, through the account portal chat or by phone on 0333 207 0413.

11 · Delivery and storage

How is Mounjaro delivered and stored?

Orders approved by a prescriber and placed by 3pm are dispatched the same day. Delivery is free, next-day and tracked, by DPD, in discreet, temperature-controlled packaging. Saturday delivery is £14.99. Because pens are cold-chain items, it helps to be able to receive the parcel and put the pen away promptly.

Once the pen arrives, storage follows the product information. Unopened pens are stored in the fridge until first use and keep until the printed expiry date.13 Once in use, a pen can be kept out of the fridge at a temperature not above 30°C for up to 30 days after first use, and must then be thrown away.1 If you have a question about how long an unopened pen can be out of the fridge, check the patient information leaflet and ask the pharmacy rather than guessing.

Heat is the usual worry. If a parcel was left in a hot place, or you are unsure whether a pen has been exposed to unusual temperatures, read our guide on Mounjaro overheating and contact us before using it. Do not use a pen if you doubt its condition. Sterility and potency are no longer assured outside the tested window.

Injection technique is described in the patient information leaflet, and each order includes needles, a sharps bin and injection guidance. Follow the pen's instructions for how to inject and for how long to hold it in place, rather than relying on a number from elsewhere. Dispose of used needles in the sharps bin provided.

If you want to see what arrives, our page on Mounjaro boxes shows the packaging. If something is faulty, damaged or the wrong item, contact us within 3 days. Dispensed prescription medicines cannot otherwise be returned, and refunds take 5–10 working days. Declined consultations are refunded automatically in full.

Repeat orders are not shipped automatically. Each one re-checks suitability, so you stay in control of when you order, and there is no subscription to cancel. To plan your next pen around your monthly review, use the account portal or contact our team.

Your questions, answered

Mounjaro price UK — frequently asked questions

Answers to common questions about Mounjaro prices, NHS access and ongoing treatment.

Ask our pharmacy team
What is an ePharmacy for Mounjaro?
An ePharmacy is a registered online pharmacy that supplies prescription medicines after a remote consultation instead of an in-person visit. For Mounjaro, you complete a free health questionnaire, a GPhC-registered prescriber reviews it, and if approved a registered pharmacy dispenses and delivers the pen. EverydayMeds is registered with the GPhC under 9012878, and you can check that on the public register before ordering.
Can Mounjaro cause pancreatitis?
Acute pancreatitis is an uncommon but serious side effect. Severe, persistent stomach pain, with or without being sick, could be pancreatitis: stop using Mounjaro and get medical help straight away. Tell your prescriber about any history of pancreas, gallbladder or stomach problems during your consultation. Pain in the upper right abdomen, fever or yellowing of the skin or eyes could be a gallbladder problem, and swelling of the face or throat with difficulty breathing could be a severe allergic reaction: get medical help straight away. Report suspected side effects through the MHRA Yellow Card scheme.
Can my GP prescribe tirzepatide?
Mounjaro is available on the NHS, but access is being phased in over several years. NICE recommends it for adults with a BMI of at least 35 plus at least one weight-related condition, and the primary-care rollout began in June 2025 with the highest-need groups first, initially BMI 40+ with four or more qualifying conditions. Ask your GP practice what applies in your area. If you do not yet qualify, regulated private treatment is an alternative route.
Why is Mounjaro so expensive?
Eli Lilly raised its UK list price in September 2025, and pharmacy prices also vary because of confidential discounts. Across the UK pharmacies we track, pens range from £143.96 to £339.00, so comparing the same dose between providers is worthwhile.
Which UK pharmacy has the lowest Mounjaro price?
Prices change, and our index only covers the UK pharmacies we track, checked 11 October 2026. In that index a 2.5mg starting pen ranges from £143.96 to £179.99. Compare the same dose, delivery terms and any consultation fee, and confirm the pharmacy is on the GPhC register. Our consultation is free and delivery is free next-day.
What is the cheapest way to get Mounjaro?
Compare like for like and use available discounts. A new customer saves £40 on their first order with code FIRST40, at any dose, and an automatic £25 reorder discount applies to every future order (code DOSE25). Your first 2.5mg pen costs £129.99 with code FIRST40. Klarna and pay-monthly options spread payment, and there are no subscriptions. The NHS route is separate and depends on meeting its criteria.
Who cannot take Mounjaro?
You should not take Mounjaro if you are allergic to tirzepatide or any of its ingredients, and it should not be used during pregnancy or while trying to conceive. Mounjaro must not be used during pregnancy, and it should be stopped at least one month before trying to conceive. Your prescriber will take extra care, or may recommend against treatment, if you have a history of pancreatitis, severe gut or digestive disease, diabetic retinopathy, or gallbladder problems. Be completely open in your consultation, including about pregnancy plans and every medicine you take. If it is not suitable, an unsuitable order is refunded automatically.
Can I buy Mounjaro injection on Amazon pharmacy?
We cannot speak for other sellers. Be cautious of any seller offering to supply without a consultation or prescription. You can order from us through our free consultation.
How quickly does Mounjaro start working?
Tirzepatide acts on GIP and GLP-1 receptors, helping regulate appetite and slowing how quickly the stomach empties, so most people feel fuller sooner and less hungry between meals. Weight loss on Mounjaro is gradual by design, and the first weeks on 2.5mg are an adjustment phase with usually modest losses. In SURMOUNT-1, average loss was 15% on 5mg, 19.5% on 10mg and 20.9% on 15mg over 72 weeks. Individual results vary, and treatment works alongside diet and activity.
Is Ozempic available in the UK?
Ozempic is semaglutide licensed in the UK for type 2 diabetes; it is not a UK weight-loss medicine, prescribing it privately for weight loss is off-label, and a regulated UK pharmacy will not supply it for weight loss. Mounjaro is different: tirzepatide activates both GIP and GLP-1 receptors. Which medicine is right for you is a prescriber's decision, based on your health, your medicines and your goals.
