A quick overview

What to know
before you start.

  • Lilly announced the UK list-price rise on 14 August 2025, effective 1 September 2025, with the biggest rise (up to 170%) on the highest dose.
  • The stated reason is aligning UK list prices with other developed countries, after a deliberately low launch price.
  • List prices are not what you pay: pharmacies set their own sell prices. Across the UK pharmacies we track, a Mounjaro pen currently ranges from £143.96 to £339.00.
  • A new customer's first order with us is £40 off, and every later order is £25 off the standard price.
In this guide

01 · The reasons

Why Lilly increased the UK price of Mounjaro

Lilly raised the UK list price as part of an agreement announced on 14 August 2025, with the new prices effective 1 September 2025.10

Several factors sit behind it, as set out in public reporting and Lilly's statement:

  • Price alignment. The UK launch price was set well below European and US levels to speed early access. Lilly describes the move as bringing UK pricing closer to other developed countries.
  • US policy pressure. The increase followed pressure from the US administration for drugmakers to charge more outside the US.
  • Cross-border supply. Lower UK prices made it attractive to buy in Britain and sell elsewhere, which is another reason cited for the change.

02 · What you pay

What the increase means for what you pay

The list price is what Lilly charges pharmacies; the price you pay is set by the pharmacy. Sell prices vary because of confidential discounts, so the headline rise does not map neatly onto a pharmacy's shelf price.

MeasureFigure
Lilly list price before 1 Sept 2025£92–£122 per month
Lilly list price from 1 Sept 2025£133–£330 per month

Cheapest and dearest 2.5mg starting pen£143.96 to £179.99
Gap between providers for the same dose£27 to £41

Our standard price for the Mounjaro pen is £169.99 per month at 2.5mg, rising to £329.99 at 15mg, all six doses in stock. New customers save £40 on their first order at any dose with code FIRST40, and an automatic £25 reorder discount applies to every future order (code DOSE25). See the Mounjaro discount code page for details.

03 · Planning

Planning your costs after the rise

If you step up after 4 weeks on each dose, your first four pens (2.5mg to 10mg) cost £959.96 at standard prices. A first year costs £2,711.88 if you stay on 5mg after your 2.5mg starting pen, up to £3,599.88 if you step up through every dose to 15mg. A new customer's first order is £40 less and every later order £25 less.

04 · Cutting cost safely

Ways to manage cost safely

Each KwikPen is designed and licensed to deliver exactly four weekly doses. Use the pen as designed, then dispose of it.

Our guide to increasing your Mounjaro dose explains how dose changes are planned, and some readers look at fixed-price Mounjaro options for budgeting.

05 · Beware cheap fakes

Price rises and counterfeit risk

Higher prices make fake pens more tempting. The MHRA has seized thousands of fake weight-loss pens in the UK and has issued alerts after falsified Mounjaro pens were identified. Fake pens have caused hospitalisations, and some contained insulin rather than tirzepatide.7

Only buy from a pharmacy you can verify on the GPhC register, never from social media, beauty salons or unverified websites. Genuine treatment always involves a prescription and a clinical consultation.12

A genuine pen has a batch number and expiry date, arrives cold-chain packaged, and the solution is clear and colourless. Do not use a pen that is cloudy, discoloured, has particles, is past expiry, has been frozen, or has been above 30°C. Once in use, a pen can be kept out of the fridge at not above 30°C for up to 30 days, and must then be thrown away.13 We are supplied through official LillyDirect supply, with genuine KwikPens. The Mounjaro trade price page explains more about how supply pricing works.

06 · Is it still worth it

Is Mounjaro still worth considering?

That is your decision with a prescriber. In SURMOUNT-1 (2,539 adults), people taking tirzepatide alongside diet and exercise lost on average 15% of body weight on 5mg, 19.5% on 10mg and 20.9% on 15mg over 72 weeks, versus 3.1% with lifestyle changes alone. These are trial averages and individual results vary.2 For someone starting at 100 kg, 20.9% is about 21 kg.

Mounjaro is licensed for adults with a BMI of 30 or above, or 27 to 30 with a weight-related condition, alongside a reduced-calorie diet and more activity.1

NHS route

Mounjaro is available on the NHS, but access is being phased in over several years. NICE recommends it for adults with a BMI of at least 35 plus at least one weight-related condition, and the primary-care rollout began in June 2025 with the highest-need groups first.46 Many people who meet the licensed criteria choose regulated private treatment rather than wait.

How ordering works

How ordering works at EverydayMeds

Three steps, with our pharmacy team alongside you.

  1. EverydayMeds online consultation on a mobile phone

    Step 1: Online consultation — 5–10 minutes

Complete a confidential health questionnaire covering BMI, medical history and current medication. No payment is taken until you're approved.

  2. A clinician ready to review an online consultation

Step 2: Prescriber review — usually same day

A UK registered prescriber checks your suitability against the licensed criteria (BMI ≥30, or ≥27 with a weight-related condition) and contraindications, and confirms your starting dose.

  3. An EverydayMeds delivery box

    Step 3: Next-day tracked delivery

Dispensed by our GPhC-registered pharmacy in temperature-controlled packaging with needles and a sharps bin included. Orders approved by 3pm for next-day tracked delivery.

Prescription and dispatch follow clinical approval. Confirm current delivery options when ordering.

Afterwards you're not on your own: dose-change reviews are built in before each step up, our pharmacist team is available for side-effect questions, and repeat orders re-check suitability rather than auto-shipping.
