Do you need a weight loss injection subscription?

No. A subscription is a billing choice, not a medical requirement. Mounjaro is prescribed after a consultation, and you can buy each Mounjaro pen as and when you need it. Our Mounjaro without subscription guide covers this in more detail.

Each pen holds four weekly doses, so you reorder after about four weeks. Repeat orders re-check suitability, and nothing ships automatically. Payment options include Visa, Mastercard, Klarna and pay-monthly plans, so you can still pay in instalments without a rolling contract.

What a weight loss jab costs without a plan

Dose matters because price rises as you step up. Across the UK pharmacies we track, Mounjaro pens range from £143.96 to £319.99 across all doses (checked 26 October 2026). Our standard price is £169.99 at 2.5mg and £299.99 at 15mg. If you step up after 4 weeks on each of 2.5mg, 5mg, 7.5mg and 10mg, your first four pens (2.5mg to 10mg) cost £879.96 at standard prices; a new customer's first order is £40 less and every later order £25 less.

04 · How ordering works

How ordering works in three steps

First, complete the free online consultation, a short health questionnaire with no charge and no obligation. Second, a GPhC-registered prescriber reviews it. Payment is taken when you place the order; if the prescriber decides the treatment is not suitable, the order is refunded automatically in full.

05 · Who it is for

Who can use Mounjaro

Mounjaro is licensed for adults with a BMI of 30 or above, or a BMI between 27 and 30 with at least one weight-related condition such as high blood pressure, high cholesterol, obstructive sleep apnoea, cardiovascular disease, prediabetes or type 2 diabetes. It is used with a reduced-calorie diet and more physical activity.¹ A prescriber assesses your BMI, history and current medicines first.

06 · Dosing and results

Dose steps and realistic results

Everyone starts on 2.5mg weekly. After at least 4 weeks the dose rises to 5mg, then in 2.5mg steps at minimum 4-week intervals up to 15mg, depending on response and tolerance.¹ This is why a flat monthly fee can be a poor fit: your pen strength changes.

In SURMOUNT-1 (2,539 adults), average weight loss was 15% on 5mg, 19.5% on 10mg and 20.9% on 15mg over 72 weeks, against 3.1% with lifestyle changes alone. Trial averages do not predict your own result, and individual results vary.²

07 · NHS and private

NHS or private treatment

Mounjaro is available on the NHS, but access is being phased in over several years. NICE recommends it for adults with a BMI of at least 35 plus at least one weight-related condition, and the primary-care rollout began in June 2025 with the highest-need groups first.⁴⁶ Many people who meet the licensed criteria choose regulated private treatment rather than waiting. 08 · Avoiding fake jabs

Avoid unregulated sellers

Only buy from a pharmacy on the GPhC register. Our registration is 9012878, and our Mounjaro comes through official LillyDirect supply from Eli Lilly's UK distribution. Be wary of anyone offering to supply without a consultation or prescription. Report suspected counterfeits and side effects via the Yellow Card scheme.⁷ Seek immediate medical help for severe, persistent stomach pain that may spread to your back, pain in the upper right abdomen with fever or yellowing of the skin or eyes, or signs of a severe allergic reaction such as swelling of the face or throat and difficulty breathing. 09 · Serious side effects

Serious side effects: when to get help straight away

Serious side effects are uncommon but need urgent attention. Seek immediate medical help for: severe, persistent stomach pain that may spread to your back, with or without vomiting (possible pancreatitis); pain in the upper right abdomen, fever or yellowing of skin/eyes (possible gallbladder problems); or signs of a severe allergic reaction such as swelling of the face or throat and difficulty breathing. If you take insulin or a sulfonylurea alongside Mounjaro, watch for low blood sugar (shakiness, sweating, confusion) — your prescriber may need to adjust those medicines.¹
