Vitamin for GLP-1 Hair Loss: What Actually Helps (October 2026)
There is no single vitamin proven to stop GLP-1 hair loss. The shedding is temporary and is linked to rapid weight loss itself rather than a direct drug effect, so nutrition, especially protein, matters more than any hair pack.1 If you suspect a deficiency, ask a prescriber or GP about testing before buying supplements.

A quick overview
What to know
before you start.
-
No vitamin is a proven fix; shedding is linked to rapid weight loss itself, not a direct drug effect.
-
Hair shedding is a recognised common side effect of Mounjaro, and for most people it settles as weight stabilises.
-
Protein and balanced eating are the practical priorities when appetite is low.
-
Test for a suspected deficiency rather than guessing; supplement dosing is not standardised.
-
Tell your prescriber if shedding is distressing or does not settle.
In this guide
01 · The core answer
Do vitamins help with GLP-1 hair loss?
Not as a standalone fix. Temporary hair shedding is a recognised side effect, reported as common in trials and linked to rapid weight loss itself rather than a direct drug effect.1 For most people it settles as weight stabilises.
That is why a generic "GLP-1 vitamin pack" is not a cure. If your diet has become thin on protein and variety because you are eating less, the answer is better nutrition first.
02 · Your next step
What should you do next?
Start with food, then check whether anything is actually missing. Low-cost supplements are available without any assessment, but they carry no clinical oversight and their dosing is not standardised.
| Option | What it can do | Our view |
|---|---|---|
| Protein at every meal | Supports nutrition and muscle while appetite is low | First priority |
| Blood test via GP or prescriber | Shows whether a real deficiency exists | Sensible if shedding persists |
| Single-nutrient supplement | Only useful if a deficiency is confirmed | Ask a pharmacist first |
| Multi-ingredient hair pack | No proven effect on this type of shedding | Low-cost supplement, no clinical oversight |

03 · Why hair sheds
Why hair sheds on treatment
Hair loss was reported by 4.9% of people taking tirzepatide in the weight-management trials, compared with 1.0% on placebo.1
The link is to rapid weight loss itself. The same applies on any method of losing weight quickly. Two other pages go further: DHT and hair loss and Mounjaro hair loss remedies.
04 · Protein and nutrition
Protein and overall nutrition
Protein intake and overall nutrition matter, which is another reason the reduced-calorie diet should stay balanced.1 Include a protein source at every meal, which is harder when appetite is low.
Vegetables, fibre and regular fluids help too. No food is banned, but smaller, slower meals tend to work better because the stomach empties more slowly.
05 · Vitamin D and testing
Vitamin D, iron and testing
Many people ask about vitamin D, iron and zinc. Supplement dosing is not standardised, and more is not automatically better. A blood test through your GP can show whether anything is genuinely low.
Our page on Mounjaro and vitamin D goes through that question. Whatever you take, tell your prescriber and pharmacist so it can be reviewed alongside your treatment.
06 · Other things that help
Other ways to manage shedding
Gentle hair care can make thinning less visible while you wait. See our guide to the best shampoo for Mounjaro hair loss.
07 · When to get advice
When to speak to a clinician
Speak to your prescriber if shedding is distressing, patchy, or does not settle once your weight stabilises. Tell them about any new symptom.
You can also report suspected side effects through the MHRA Yellow Card scheme.19 Our team offers side-effect support as part of ongoing monthly reviews.
08 · Serious side effects
Serious side effects: when to get help straight away
Serious side effects are uncommon but need urgent attention. Seek immediate medical help for: severe, persistent stomach pain that may spread to your back, with or without vomiting (possible pancreatitis); pain in the upper right abdomen, fever or yellowing of skin/eyes (possible gallbladder problems); or signs of a severe allergic reaction such as swelling of the face or throat and difficulty breathing. If you take insulin or a sulfonylurea alongside Mounjaro, watch for low blood sugar (shakiness, sweating, confusion) — your prescriber may need to adjust those medicines.1
How ordering works
How ordering works at EverydayMeds
Three steps, with our pharmacy team alongside you.
Step 1: Online consultation — 5–10 minutes
Complete a confidential health questionnaire covering BMI, medical history and current medication. No payment is taken until you're approved.
Step 2: Prescriber review — usually same day
A UK registered prescriber checks your suitability against the licensed criteria (BMI ≥30, or ≥27 with a weight-related condition) and contraindications, and confirms your starting dose.
Step 3: Next-day tracked delivery
Dispensed by our GPhC-registered pharmacy in temperature-controlled packaging with needles and a sharps bin included. Orders approved by 3pm for next-day tracked delivery.
Prescription and dispatch follow clinical approval. Confirm current delivery options when ordering.
Afterwards you're not on your own: dose-change reviews are built in before each step up, our pharmacist team is available for side-effect questions, and repeat orders re-check suitability rather than auto-shipping.
