What to do if your Mounjaro arrived warm

Stop, and do not inject until you have checked the pen and spoken to the pharmacy. Open the box, take the pen out and look at it. Check the printed expiry date and whether the pen looks damaged or different from the leaflet's description.¹³

• Note the details: the delivery time, how long the box sat outside, and the weather if you know it.
• Take photos: the box, the packaging and the pen.
• Contact us: email support@everydaymeds.co.uk or call 0333 207 0413, Monday–Friday 9am–5pm. For faulty, damaged or wrong items, please get in touch within 3 days.
• Store it properly while you wait: unopened pens belong in the fridge until first use.¹³

Please do not guess. We cannot judge a pen from a description alone, so check it with the pharmacy.

03 · Storage rules

What the leaflet says about storage

Unopened pens should be kept in the fridge until first use, and they keep until the printed expiry date.¹³ Once you start a pen, it can be kept out of the fridge at a temperature not above 30°C for up to 30 days after first use, and must then be thrown away.¹

If an unopened pen has spent time out of the fridge, check with the pharmacy before using it rather than relying on a remembered day limit. Follow the instructions that come with your pen; they cover how to prepare and use it.¹³ A pen that feels warm because of delivery is a different issue from deliberately letting a fridge pen reach room temperature. We cover that in do I need to let Mounjaro warm up and warming up before injecting.

05 · Already used it

If you already injected a warm pen

Tell your prescriber or pharmacy what happened. Get medical help straight away for severe, persistent stomach pain that may spread to your back, upper right abdominal pain, fever, yellowing of the skin or eyes, or swelling of the face or throat with difficulty breathing.¹³ You can also report any side effect through the Yellow Card scheme.¹⁹

06 · Serious side effects

Serious side effects: when to get help straight away

Serious side effects are uncommon but need urgent attention. Seek immediate medical help for: severe, persistent stomach pain that may spread to your back, with or without vomiting (possible pancreatitis); pain in the upper right abdomen, fever or yellowing of skin/eyes (possible gallbladder problems); or signs of a severe allergic reaction such as swelling of the face or throat and difficulty breathing. If you take insulin or a sulfonylurea alongside Mounjaro, watch for low blood sugar (shakiness, sweating, confusion) — your prescriber may need to adjust those medicines.¹
