In this guide

01 · The short answer

Will Mounjaro prices decrease in the UK?

What is documented is the opposite move: Eli Lilly announced a UK list-price increase on 14 August 2025, effective 1 September 2025.

Pharmacy selling prices differ from list prices because pharmacies negotiate confidential discounts. That is why you will see a spread between providers rather than one fixed national price. Our own index of the UK pharmacies we track (checked 10 October 2026) shows the cheapest and dearest pens across all doses at £143.96 and £339.00. For the same dose, the gap between providers ranges from £27 to £41.

So the realistic picture is this: the list price is set by the manufacturer, while the price you pay depends on the dose, the provider and any discount. Competition between pharmacies is what moves the second part. If you want the wider story, our guides on why Mounjaro prices are rising and the September price spike go into the detail.

02 · Today's cost

What Mounjaro costs with us right now

Your first 2.5mg pen costs £129.99 with code FIRST40 (standard price £169.99). Switching to us at 15mg? Your first order is £289.99. These are first-order prices for a four-week pen, so the new-customer discount is already inside them.

After that first order, every future order is £25 off the standard price (code DOSE25). The standard prices per four-week pen are £169.99 at 2.5mg, £218.99 at 5mg, £279.99 at 7.5mg, £290.99 at 10mg, £319.99 at 12.5mg and £329.99 at 15mg. You can check the live table and order from the Mounjaro pen page. The consultation is free, and the price shown is the price paid, with no hidden fees.

For the discount rules in full, see our Mounjaro discount code guide.

03 · Comparison

Mounjaro price comparison: what the data shows

All figures are per four-week pen. Compare like with like: the same dose, the same week, and whether delivery, consultation and review are included. Our Mounjaro price war guide explains how provider pricing has moved against each other since the increase.

04 · Why prices rose

Why Mounjaro prices rose in 2025

Mounjaro prices rose because the manufacturer raised its UK list price.

The increase was not equal across doses. The highest dose saw a rise of up to 170%, so the people most affected were those on higher maintenance doses. Starter doses moved by a smaller proportion.

Pharmacies buy at confidential discounted terms, so list price is a ceiling on what the sector pays, not what every customer is charged. Prices you see online therefore vary. We show our own prices live and date every comparison, so you can see what was true on the day you read it.

If you were a customer before September 2025, you will have noticed the change at your next order. If you are new, the practical question is not whether prices will fall but which provider and which discount give you the lowest sensible monthly cost at the dose your prescriber recommends.

05 · What could change prices

What could actually move Mounjaro prices?

The factors that plausibly matter are the manufacturer's list price, the discounts pharmacies negotiate and competition between providers. Of these, the provider you choose is the part you control. Competition shows up in the data: across the UK pharmacies we track, the gap between providers for the same dose runs from £27 to £41. That spread is why shopping around on a dated, like-for-like basis is worth ten minutes.

Beware of pages that promise a price drop is "incoming" without naming a source. If a price cut is announced by the manufacturer, it will be a public statement, and the right test is whether the claim links to one. Our own prices update live, so a real change would appear on the product page rather than needing an announcement from us.

Our related guide on a GLP-1 price decrease looks at the wider category, including other weight-loss injections, so you can see how Mounjaro sits within it.

06 · Lowering your monthly cost

Legitimate ways to lower what you pay

The most reliable way to lower your cost is to use the discounts that exist.

  • Use the new-customer discount. New customers save £40 on their first order at any dose with code FIRST40, including people switching from another provider at a higher dose.
  • Let the reorder discount work. An automatic £25 reorder discount applies to every future order (code DOSE25). Every later order is £25 off the standard price.
  • Spread the cost. Klarna and pay-monthly options are available, with no subscription lock-in. This does not lower the price, but it can smooth it.

Prescriber time is part of the picture too. Ongoing monthly clinical reviews are included, so you are not paying extra to talk through dose or side effects.

07 · Cost-saving mistakes to avoid

Cost-saving shortcuts that are not safe

Rising prices push some people towards workarounds that are unsafe.

Mounjaro is licensed as a once-weekly medicine, and its blood levels are designed around a 7-day cycle.

Each KwikPen is designed and licensed to deliver exactly four weekly doses. Use the pen as designed, then dispose of it.13

The other false economy is buying from an unverified seller because the price looks low.

08 · Counterfeit risk

Why a very low price should make you cautious

A price far below what regulated pharmacies charge is a warning sign, not a bargain. The MHRA has seized thousands of fake weight-loss pens in the UK and has issued alerts after falsified Mounjaro pens were identified. Fake pens have caused hospitalisations, and some contained insulin rather than tirzepatide.7

Only buy from a pharmacy you can verify on the GPhC register, never from social media, beauty salons or unverified websites. Genuine treatment always involves a prescription and a clinical consultation, so anyone offering to supply without a consultation or prescription is not operating legitimately.12

Genuine UK stock is supplied through Lilly's official distribution to licensed pharmacies, and every pen carries a batch number and expiry date that can be checked. Our Mounjaro comes through official LillyDirect supply, direct from Eli Lilly's UK distribution, as genuine KwikPens across all six doses.

A genuine pen arrives cold-chain packaged, and the solution inside is clear and colourless. Do not use a pen that has been frozen, looks cloudy or discoloured, has particles in it, is past its expiry, has been above 30°C, or has been out of the fridge for more than 30 days in use. If anything about supply or packaging seems wrong, check the pharmacy on the GPhC register and contact it before injecting.

09 · Year-cost planning

Planning a year of Mounjaro

Planning by the year is more useful than hoping for a price drop, because the total depends mostly on the dose you settle at. The figures below are standard prices before any discount. A new customer's first order is £40 less, and every later order is £25 less.

PhaseLengthStandard cost
First year, one 2.5mg pen then staying on 5mg52 weeks, 13 pens£2,711.88
First year, stepping up through every dose to 15mg52 weeks, 13 pens£3,599.88

A first year costs £2,711.88 if you stay on 5mg after your 2.5mg starting pen, up to £3,599.88 if you step up through every dose to 15mg. If you settle somewhere in between, the monthly standard prices are £279.99 at 7.5mg, £290.99 at 10mg and £319.99 at 12.5mg. Each is per four-week pen.

Because this is a recurring cost, the dose that matters is the one your prescriber considers right for you. In the SURMOUNT-1 trial of 2,539 adults, average weight loss at 72 weeks was 15% on 5mg, 19.5% on 10mg and 20.9% on 15mg, compared with 3.1% with lifestyle changes alone. These are trial averages, and individual results vary.2 Treatment works alongside a reduced-calorie diet and increased physical activity, not instead of them.

Your dose is a clinical decision, not a cost one. Your prescriber will weigh tolerability, progress and suitability, and a higher dose is not automatically better for you.

10 · NHS and private

The NHS route and the private route

Mounjaro is available on the NHS, but access is being phased in over several years. NICE recommends it for adults with a BMI of at least 35 plus at least one weight-related condition, and the NHS primary-care rollout began in June 2025 with the highest-need groups first, initially BMI 40+ with four or more qualifying conditions.46 Full rollout is expected to take years, which is why many people who meet the licensed criteria choose regulated private treatment rather than waiting.

On the NHS you pay only the standard prescription charge where one applies. That makes the NHS the lowest-cost route if you qualify and can access it. Ask your GP whether you are in a group currently being offered treatment. For general information, see the NHS guide to tirzepatide.5

Privately, the licence is broader. Mounjaro is licensed for weight management in adults with a BMI of 30 or above, or a BMI between 27 and 30 with at least one weight-related condition such as high blood pressure, high cholesterol, obstructive sleep apnoea, cardiovascular disease, prediabetes or type 2 diabetes. It must be used alongside a reduced-calorie diet and increased physical activity, and a prescriber assesses your BMI, medical history and current medicines first.1

Whichever route you take, a price fall or rise in the private market does not change your NHS eligibility, and an NHS decision does not stop you buying privately. Our weight loss treatments hub compares the other options if Mounjaro does not suit you or your budget.

11 · How ordering works

How to order, step by step

Payment is taken when you place the order; if the prescriber decides the treatment is not suitable, the order is refunded automatically in full.

  • Free online consultation. A short health questionnaire, no charge, no obligation. Start your free consultation.
  • Prescriber review. Your answers are reviewed by a GPhC-registered prescriber, not a scoring script. Unsuitable orders are refunded automatically.
  • Dispensing and dispatch. Your pen is dispensed by our registered pharmacy, with same-day dispatch when ordered by 3pm.
  • Delivery. Free next-day tracked delivery in discreet, temperature-controlled packaging. Saturday delivery is £14.99.

Needles, a sharps bin and injection guidance come with every order. Repeat orders re-check suitability, and nothing ships automatically, so you stay in control of each pen. Our team is available Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm, at support@everydaymeds.co.uk or 0333 207 0413. The free GLPTrackr app helps you log doses and progress.

Mounjaro (tirzepatide) is a prescription-only medicine, supplied only after an online consultation reviewed by a GPhC-registered prescriber. Individual results vary. This page is information, not a substitute for medical advice.

Your questions, answered

Mounjaro price UK — frequently asked questions

Answers to common questions about Mounjaro prices, NHS access and ongoing treatment.

Ask our pharmacy team
Will Mounjaro prices decrease in the UK?
Pharmacy prices vary with confidential discounts and competition, so we show ours live and dated rather than forecast a fall.
Can you provide a price comparison chart for Mounjaro in the UK?
Across the UK pharmacies we track (checked 10 October 2026), single pens range from £143.96 to £339.00, and 2.5mg starter pens from £143.96 to £179.99. Boots' dose prices run from £179.00 to £339.00.
Can diabetics get Mounjaro on NHS?
Mounjaro is available on the NHS, but access is being phased in over several years, and a GP or diabetes team decides what you are offered. It is also licensed for type 2 diabetes. Ask your GP or diabetes team about your own eligibility. If you are already on insulin or sulfonylureas, doses may need adjusting because of the risk of low blood sugar.
Which is safer, Wegovy or Mounjaro?
Both are licensed prescription medicines, and neither is universally safer. They work differently: Mounjaro (tirzepatide) activates GIP and GLP-1 receptors, while Wegovy (semaglutide) is a single-action GLP-1 medicine. A GPhC-registered prescriber reviews your medical history and current medicines to decide which suits you, and you can report side effects through the Yellow Card scheme.
What is the newest weight loss medication approved in the UK?
Newer options now include GLP-1 tablets, such as Wegovy tablets and Foundayo, alongside injections like Mounjaro and Wegovy. Our weight loss treatments page lists what we currently offer, and a prescriber can advise on suitability.
