A quick overview

What to know
before you start.

  • Lilly announced the UK list-price rise on 14 August 2025, effective 1 September 2025: £92–£122 per month became £133–£330, up to 170% on the top dose.
  • The rise sets the list price pharmacies are charged; what you pay depends on the pharmacy, because sell prices vary.
  • Our standard prices are shown live: 2.5mg is £169.99 and 15mg is £329.99 per month, with £40 off a first order.
  • Every later order with us is £25 off the standard price, so repeat cost at any dose is lower than the price shown.
In this guide

01 · The facts

Are Mounjaro prices rising in the UK?

Mounjaro prices rose on 1 September 2025 after Eli Lilly announced the change on 14 August 2025. The list price moved from £92–£122 per month to £133–£330 per month depending on dose, an increase of up to 170% on the highest strength.10 That is the manufacturer's list price to pharmacies, not a figure every pharmacy charges you.

If you have seen a higher bill, the most likely explanation is that your provider passed on part of that list-price rise. Pharmacy sell prices vary because of confidential discounts, so two providers can charge very different amounts for the same pen. For a fuller timeline, see our guide on why the Mounjaro price increased.

02 · Current cost

What Mounjaro costs with us now

A Mounjaro pen lasts four weeks. The standard price is £169.99 at 2.5mg, £218.99 at 5mg, £279.99 at 7.5mg, £290.99 at 10mg, £319.99 at 12.5mg and £329.99 at 15mg. All six doses are in stock.

New customers save £40 on their first order at any dose with code FIRST40. That includes people switching to us from another provider at a higher strength. Every later order then gets an automatic £25 off the standard price (code DOSE25). The current discount codes are explained on our hub page.

Treatment usually starts at 2.5mg and steps up, so your cost changes as you move through doses. These are planning totals at standard prices, before discounts. A new customer's first order is £40 less, and every later order is £25 less.

Planning stagePensStandard-price total
First year if you stay on 5mg after one 2.5mg starting pen13£2,711.88
First year if you step up through every dose to 15mg13£3,599.88

If you settle at 7.5mg, 10mg or 12.5mg, your monthly cost is £279.99, £290.99 or £319.99 respectively at standard prices. Higher strengths are not automatically needed; your prescriber sets the dose that suits you.

03 · Across providers

How prices compare across providers after the rise

Across the UK pharmacies we track, the cheapest and dearest Mounjaro pen at any dose range from £143.96 to £339.00 per month, as of our index check on 10 October 2026. For the 2.5mg starting pen alone, prices run from £143.96 to £179.99.

The gap between providers for the same dose ranges from £27 to £41. Boots' Mounjaro dose prices run from £179.00 to £339.00 across its doses. That spread is why comparing the same dose side by side matters more than the headline "rise". Our live Mounjaro price page keeps this current, and you can see how the rise played out in our before-and-after price comparison.

04 · Why Lilly raised prices

Why did Mounjaro's price rise?

Eli Lilly raised the UK list price as part of a statement published on 14 August 2025 that included an agreement to increase the UK list price of Mounjaro.10 The change took effect on 1 September 2025.

The figures in that statement are the ones to rely on: before the change, monthly list prices were £92–£122 depending on dose; afterwards they were £133–£330, an increase of up to 170% on the highest dose.10

If you want the story behind the headlines, our page on the Mounjaro price spike covers how pharmacies responded, and the Lilly Mounjaro price page covers the manufacturer side.

05 · Who the rise affects

Who is affected: private patients and the NHS

The list-price rise matters most to people paying privately, because they buy through pharmacies whose costs follow the list price. If you are prescribed Mounjaro through the NHS, you pay the standard prescription charge in England, not a pharmacy price.

Mounjaro is available on the NHS, but access is being phased in over several years. NICE recommends it for adults with a BMI of at least 35 plus at least one weight-related condition. The NHS primary-care rollout began in June 2025 with the highest-need groups first, initially BMI 40+ with four or more qualifying conditions.46 Full rollout is expected to take years, which is why many people who meet the licensed criteria choose regulated private treatment rather than waiting.

For private treatment, Mounjaro is licensed for adults with a BMI of 30 or above, or a BMI between 27 and 30 with at least one weight-related condition such as high blood pressure, high cholesterol, obstructive sleep apnoea, cardiovascular disease, prediabetes or type 2 diabetes. It is used alongside a reduced-calorie diet and increased physical activity, and a prescriber assesses your BMI, medical history and current medicines first.111

06 · Unsafe ways to save

Unsafe ways people try to cut the cost

Mounjaro is licensed as a once-weekly medicine, and its blood levels are designed around a 7-day cycle.

Each KwikPen is designed and licensed to deliver exactly four weekly doses. Use the pen as designed, then dispose of it.113

Price pressure also drives people towards fake pens. The MHRA has seized thousands of fake weight-loss pens in the UK and has issued alerts after falsified Mounjaro pens were identified. Fake pens have caused hospitalisations, and some contained insulin rather than tirzepatide.7 Only buy from a pharmacy you can verify on the GPhC register, never from social media, beauty salons or unverified websites. Genuine treatment always involves a prescription and a clinical consultation.12

07 · Checking a pen is genuine

How to check a pen is genuine

A genuine UK Mounjaro pen comes from a registered pharmacy with a batch number and expiry date, arrives cold-chain packaged, and the solution inside is clear and colourless.13 Genuine UK stock is supplied through Lilly's official distribution to licensed pharmacies, and every pen carries a batch number and expiry date that can be checked.

Do not use a pen that has been frozen, looks cloudy or discoloured, has particles in it, is past its expiry, has been above 30°C, or has been out of the fridge for more than 30 days in use.113 If supply or packaging ever seems wrong, check the pharmacy on the GPhC register and contact the pharmacy before injecting.

Our supply is official LillyDirect supply, meaning Mounjaro direct from Eli Lilly's UK distribution, with genuine KwikPens across all six doses.

08 · What the medicine delivers

Weighing the cost against what Mounjaro does

Mounjaro is tirzepatide, a once-weekly injection that activates two gut-hormone receptors, GIP and GLP-1. Together these help regulate appetite and slow how quickly the stomach empties, so most people feel fuller sooner and less hungry between meals.1

In the SURMOUNT-1 trial of 2,539 adults, people taking tirzepatide alongside diet and exercise lost on average 15% of their body weight on 5mg, 19.5% on 10mg and 20.9% on 15mg over 72 weeks, compared with 3.1% with lifestyle changes alone. For someone starting at 100 kg, 20.9% is about 21 kg. These are trial averages; individual results vary, and treatment works alongside a reduced-calorie diet and increased physical activity, not instead of them.2

09 · Ordering with us

How ordering works

Ordering takes three steps, and the consultation is free. Payment is taken when you place the order; if the prescriber decides the treatment is not suitable, the order is refunded automatically in full, and the price shown is the price paid with no hidden fees.

  • Free online consultation: a short health questionnaire, no charge and no obligation. Start your free consultation.
  • Prescriber review: reviewed by a GPhC-registered prescriber, not a scoring script. Unsuitable orders are refunded automatically.
  • Dispatch and delivery: dispensed by our registered pharmacy, with same-day dispatch when ordered by 3pm and free next-day tracked delivery in temperature-controlled packaging. Saturday delivery is £14.99.

Repeat orders re-check suitability, and there is no auto-shipping. Ongoing monthly reviews are included, and we accept Visa, Mastercard and Klarna, with pay-monthly options and no subscription lock-in. You can see the other options we offer in all weight loss treatments, and compare how pharmacies priced after the rise in our Mounjaro price war analysis. For current rates after the increase, see our price increase and lowest prices page.

Mounjaro (tirzepatide) is a prescription-only medicine, supplied only after an online consultation reviewed by a GPhC-registered prescriber. It is used alongside a reduced-calorie diet and increased physical activity. Individual results vary. This page is information, not a substitute for medical advice.

Your questions, answered

Mounjaro price UK — frequently asked questions

Answers to common questions about Mounjaro prices, NHS access and ongoing treatment.

Ask our pharmacy team
Why did my Mounjaro price increase?
Eli Lilly raised the UK list price on 1 September 2025, from £92–£122 to £133–£330 per month depending on dose, up to 170% on the highest strength. Many providers passed on some of that rise. Pharmacy sell prices vary because of confidential discounts, so check your provider's current price for your exact dose.
Is Mounjaro going up in price in the UK?
The announced list-price rise already took effect on 1 September 2025. We do not forecast further changes. Our prices render live from our shop and carry a checked date, so you can see today's figure for each dose. A new customer's first order is £40 less, and every later order £25 less.
Has the price of Mounjaro increased at Asda?
The list-price increase applied to Mounjaro in the UK from 1 September 2025, but sell prices differ by provider. Check Asda's current page directly, and compare the same dose across providers before deciding.
Where can I find the cheapest Mounjaro in the UK?
Compare the same dose across providers, because gaps for one dose across the UK pharmacies we track run from £27 to £41. Only buy from a pharmacy on the GPhC register. Cheap pens from social media or unverified sites risk being counterfeit, and some fake pens have contained insulin.
How much does Mounjaro cost in Europe?
For European costs, check the relevant country's pharmacies or health authority directly.
What drugs should not be taken with Mounjaro?
Tell your prescriber about every medicine you take, including over-the-counter products, because a prescriber assesses your current medicines before deciding whether Mounjaro is suitable. Mounjaro must not be combined with other GLP-1 medicines, unlicensed "research" peptides or compounded copies. Tell your prescriber about warfarin, insulin or sulfonylureas, as doses may need adjusting. Our consultation asks about your full medication list.
What should I avoid while taking Mounjaro, and can I eat bananas or potatoes?
Mounjaro is used alongside a reduced-calorie diet and more physical activity, so portion size matters more than a single food. No food is banned on Mounjaro, including bananas. Smaller, slower meals work better, and very fatty, fried or sugary food makes many people feel worse. Discuss any dietary worries with your prescriber.
Can I make my Mounjaro last longer to save money?
No. Each pen delivers exactly four weekly doses. If cost is the concern, talk to your clinical team rather than self-adjusting.
