What does Mounjaro cost in the UK right now?

Across the UK pharmacies we track, a single Mounjaro pen (four weekly doses) costs between £143.96 and £319.99, depending on strength and provider. That index was checked 25 October 2026. It covers every dose from 2.5mg to 15mg, so the bottom of the range is not a starting-dose price.

For the 2.5mg starting pen specifically, the cheapest we track is £143.96 and the dearest is £179.99. Our own standard price for the Mounjaro pen at 2.5mg is £169.99.

The standard weekly equivalents run from £42.50 a week at 2.5mg to £75.00 a week at 15mg, which is a useful way to compare against a provider that quotes per week.

What do you pay at EverydayMeds?

Our standard price is the price of one pen at that dose, and every repeat order costs that standard price less the reorder discount. What does a year of Mounjaro cost?

A first year costs £2,399.88 if you stay on 5mg after your 2.5mg starting pen, up to £3,279.88 if you step up through every dose to 15mg, at standard prices. That covers 52 weeks, or 13 pens. These totals are before discounts: a new customer's first order is £40 less, and every later order is £25 less.

If you settle at another dose, work from that dose's monthly price: £244.99 at 7.5mg, £274.99 at 10mg and £289.99 at 12.5mg.

Not everyone needs the top dose. Your prescriber will step the dose up based on how you respond and how you tolerate treatment, so the strength you end on, and therefore your annual cost, is a clinical decision rather than a fixed plan.

What is the cheapest safe way to get Mounjaro?

The cheapest safe route is a verified, GPhC-registered pharmacy that charges no separate consultation fee, then using the new-customer and reorder discounts. Price matters less than whether the pen is genuine and prescribed for you. Cheap does not mean good value if the pen is not real.

Practical ways to keep the cost down legitimately:

• Compare the same dose across providers using dated price figures.
• Use a new-customer discount on your first order and the automatic reorder discount afterwards.
• Spread the cost with Klarna or pay-monthly options if that helps your budgeting.

06 · NHS or private

Is Mounjaro cheaper on the NHS?

On the NHS you pay at most the prescription charge, but access is limited. Mounjaro is available on the NHS, but access is being phased in over several years. NICE recommends it for adults with a BMI of at least 35 plus at least one weight-related condition, and the NHS primary-care rollout began in June 2025 with the highest-need groups first (initially BMI 40+ with four or more qualifying conditions).⁴⁶ Full rollout is expected to take years.

In England the standard prescription charge is £9.90 per item if you pay per prescription and are not exempt. That charge applies only where you are prescribed the medicine through the NHS. Ask your GP whether you are in a group currently being offered treatment.

Many people who meet the licensed criteria choose regulated private treatment rather than waiting. Mounjaro is licensed for weight management in adults with a BMI of 30 or above, or a BMI between 27 and 30 with at least one weight-related condition such as high blood pressure, high cholesterol, obstructive sleep apnoea, cardiovascular disease, prediabetes or type 2 diabetes. It must be used alongside a reduced-calorie diet and increased physical activity.¹ A prescriber assesses your BMI, medical history and current medicines before deciding whether it is suitable.

07 · Fake pen warning

Why a very low price should worry you

A price far below the rest of the market is a warning sign, not a bargain. The MHRA has seized thousands of fake weight-loss pens in the UK and has issued alerts after falsified Mounjaro pens were identified. Fake pens have caused hospitalisations, and some contained insulin rather than tirzepatide.⁷

Only buy from a pharmacy you can verify on the GPhC register, never from social media, beauty salons or unverified websites.¹² Genuine treatment always involves a prescription and a clinical consultation. A seller offering to supply without a consultation or prescription is not a legitimate source, whatever the price.

A genuine UK pen comes from a registered pharmacy with a batch number and expiry date, arrives cold-chain packaged, and the solution inside is clear and colourless. Do not use a pen that has been frozen, looks cloudy or discoloured, has particles in it, is past its expiry, has been above 30°C, or has been out of the fridge for more than 30 days in use (kept not above 30°C). 08 · Will prices fall?

Will Mounjaro prices come down in the UK?

Eli Lilly announced an increase to the UK list price of Mounjaro, effective in September 2025.¹⁰ Pharmacy sell prices differ from list prices because of confidential discounts, which is why the figures we track vary by provider.

Because we show prices live and date each check, you can see the current figure rather than one that has gone stale. If you are partway through a course, you are not locked in to future prices, as there are no subscriptions and no auto-shipping. Each repeat order re-checks your suitability and is priced at the time you place it.

09 · Alternatives

Are there cheaper alternatives to Mounjaro?

There are cheaper products, but cheaper is not the same as equivalent. Low-cost supplements sold as a "poor man's Ozempic" or "nature's Ozempic", such as berberine, are available cheaply without assessment. They are not licensed weight-loss medicines, they carry no clinical oversight, and dosing is not standardised.

What are you paying for?

You are paying for a licensed once-weekly medicine, prescriber oversight and cold-chain delivery. Tirzepatide is the active ingredient in Mounjaro. It activates two gut-hormone receptors at once, GIP and GLP-1, which together help regulate appetite, slow how quickly the stomach empties and improve the way the body responds to insulin.¹

In the SURMOUNT-1 trial of 2,539 adults, people taking tirzepatide alongside diet and exercise lost on average 15% of their body weight on 5mg, 19.5% on 10mg and 20.9% on 15mg over 72 weeks, compared with 3.1% with lifestyle changes alone.² For someone starting at 100 kg, 20.9% is about 21 kg. These are trial averages, individual results vary, and treatment works alongside a reduced-calorie diet and increased physical activity, not instead of them.
