01 · Price
What Mounjaro costs right now
A Mounjaro pen costs £169.99 at the 2.5mg starting dose and £299.99 at the 15mg top dose, and each pen lasts four weeks. You can see every dose on the Mounjaro pen product page, where the live price table sits. The six standard monthly prices are £169.99 (2.5mg), £189.99 (5mg), £244.99 (7.5mg), £274.99 (10mg), £289.99 (12.5mg) and £299.99 (15mg). Per week that works out at £42.50, £47.50, £61.25, £68.75, £72.50 and £75.00 respectively.
Your first 2.5mg pen costs £129.99 with code FIRST40 (standard price £169.99). Switching to us at 15mg? Your first order is £259.99. The new-customer discount applies at any dose, not just the starter pen. After that, every future order gets an automatic £25 off the standard price (code DOSE25). For the wider picture on codes, see our Mounjaro discount code guide.
02 · Included
What the price includes
The price shown is the price paid. The consultation is free, with no charge and no obligation, and your order is reviewed by a GPhC-registered prescriber. If your consultation is declined, you are refunded automatically in full. Delivery is free and next-day, tracked by DPD in temperature-controlled, discreet packaging; Saturday delivery is £14.99. Orders placed by 3pm are dispatched the same day. Needles, a sharps bin and injection guidance come with every order.
Your prescriber team also provides ongoing monthly reviews, dose-titration and follow-up assessments, and side-effect support. Repeat orders re-check suitability, so nothing ships automatically and there is no subscription. All six doses are in stock, and we supply genuine KwikPens direct from Eli Lilly's UK distribution through official LillyDirect supply.
03 · Payment
Paying monthly rather than all at once
You can pay by Visa or Mastercard, or use Klarna and pay-monthly options if you prefer to spread the cost. There is no subscription lock-in, so you only order the next pen when your prescriber has reviewed you and you are ready. Our guide to how to spread the cost of Mounjaro explains the options in more detail.
Prices change when the manufacturer changes its list prices, so we show them live and date them. If you want to see how the 2.5mg starter pen compares on its own, our Mounjaro cost UK starter-dose page goes through that dose specifically.
04 · Ordering
How ordering works
- Free online consultation: a short health questionnaire, no charge and no obligation. Start your free consultation.
- Prescriber review: a GPhC-registered prescriber reviews your answers. Payment is taken when you place the order; if the prescriber decides the treatment is not suitable, the order is refunded automatically in full.
- Dispensing and delivery: our registered pharmacy dispenses your pen, and free next-day tracked delivery follows, with same-day dispatch when ordered by 3pm.
Mounjaro (tirzepatide) is a prescription-only medicine, supplied only after an online consultation reviewed by a GPhC-registered prescriber. It is used alongside a reduced-calorie diet and increased physical activity, and individual results vary.1
05 · What your price buys
What a Mounjaro price actually buys
The price on a Mounjaro listing buys one pre-filled multi-dose KwikPen of tirzepatide, which delivers four weekly doses. Mounjaro is the brand name for tirzepatide, a once-weekly injectable prescription medicine made by Eli Lilly. In the UK it is licensed for weight management in adults and for type 2 diabetes.1 The pen comes in six strengths: 2.5mg, 5mg, 7.5mg, 10mg, 12.5mg and 15mg.1
That matters when you compare prices. A quote for 'Mounjaro' with no dose attached tells you very little. Always ask which strength the figure refers to, and whether it is a first-order price or the price you will pay on repeat orders.
How Mounjaro works
Tirzepatide is the first treatment of its kind to activate two natural gut-hormone receptors at once: GIP and GLP-1. Together these help regulate appetite, slow how quickly the stomach empties, and improve the way the body responds to insulin. In practice, most people feel fuller sooner and less hungry between meals, which supports a reduced-calorie diet. This dual action is what distinguishes Mounjaro from single-action GLP-1 medicines such as semaglutide (Wegovy and Ozempic).1
Dosing is weekly, and each KwikPen contains four weekly doses. So when you read a monthly price, you are reading the cost of four injections, taken once a week on the same day. Tirzepatide has a half-life of about five days, so after a final dose it takes roughly 4–5 weeks to clear the system. There is no way to speed this up, and nothing needs doing while it clears.1
What is not in the pen price
The medicine is only part of what you pay for. A regulated pharmacy also carries the cost of the clinical consultation, the prescriber's review, cold-chain delivery, and the follow-up that checks whether a dose is still right for you. Our consultation is free and the price shown is the price paid, with no hidden fees. Ask any provider you compare the same question: is the review, the delivery and the aftercare inside the figure, or added on later?
It also helps to know what you are not paying for. You are not paying for a certain outcome, because treatment works alongside a reduced-calorie diet and increased physical activity, and individual results vary. You are paying for a licensed medicine, supplied safely, with a prescriber who can adjust the dose as you go.
Storage and use once you have the pen
Pens are stored in the fridge until first use, and they keep until the printed expiry date. Once you start a pen, it can be kept out of the fridge at a temperature not above 30°C for up to 30 days after first use, and must then be thrown away. For anything about unopened pens left out of the fridge, check the patient information leaflet and contact the pharmacy rather than guessing.13 Follow the pen's instructions for injecting. Knowing this up front helps you plan order timing so you never hold a pen longer than you can use it.
Full details of other treatments we supply are on our weight loss treatments overview.
06 · Why prices step up
Why the price rises with each dose
Mounjaro costs more at higher strengths, and the price steps up with the dose.
At standard prices, our pens run £169.99 (2.5mg), £189.99 (5mg), £244.99 (7.5mg), £274.99 (10mg), £289.99 (12.5mg) and £299.99 (15mg). Each is one four-week pen. The step between 2.5mg and 5mg is the one many people notice first, because it comes at the end of your first month.
The September 2025 list-price rise
Eli Lilly announced a UK list-price increase for Mounjaro on 14 August 2025, effective 1 September 2025. Pharmacy sell prices vary because of confidential discounts, which is why two providers can charge different amounts for the same pen. If you want the background, read our explainer on whether Mounjaro is doubling in price.
What the titration schedule means for your wallet
Most people do not start at the top. A prescriber starts you on 2.5mg and steps up by agreement, so you spend your first months on lower-priced pens. A new customer's first order is £40 less, and every later order is £25 less.
You will not necessarily go through every strength. Some people settle at 5mg or 7.5mg, where the monthly price is £189.99 or £244.99. Others, after review, move higher. The point of the stepped price is that you pay for the dose you are actually on, not a flat rate for the maximum.
Reading a price that looks too good
When one pharmacy advertises a Mounjaro price far below the rest, check three things. First, which dose is it for? Starter-dose prices are lower than top-dose prices, so a headline 'from' figure may only apply to 2.5mg. Second, is it a first-order promotional price that rises on repeat orders? Third, is the pharmacy registered with the GPhC? You can check at the GPhC register, where our registration number is 9012878.
A price should also be dated. Our prices were checked 25 October 2026, and our price index of the UK pharmacies we track was checked 25 October 2026.
07 · Year cost planning
What a year of Mounjaro costs
A first year of Mounjaro costs £2,399.88 at standard prices if you stay on 5mg after your 2.5mg starting pen, up to £3,279.88 if you step up through every dose to 15mg. A year is 52 weeks, which is 13 pens. These totals include the titration pens that come before you reach your maintenance dose, and they are before discounts. A new customer's first order is £40 less, and every later order is £25 less.
The three phases of spend
| Phase | What happens | What it costs (standard prices) |
|---|---|---|
| First four pens | Four pens: 2.5mg, 5mg, 7.5mg, 10mg, if you step up after 4 weeks on each dose | £879.96 in total |
| Settling at 5mg | One pen per month after at least 4 weeks on 2.5mg | £189.99 per month |
| Settling at 7.5mg | One pen per month | £244.99 per month |
| Settling at 10mg | One pen per month | £274.99 per month |
| Settling at 12.5mg | One pen per month | £289.99 per month |
| Settling at 15mg | One pen per month | £299.99 per month; first year up to £3,279.88 |
These figures are standard prices, before the new-customer and reorder discounts. For any other maintenance dose, take that dose's monthly price and discuss your own plan with the prescriber.
Planning around the long term
Because treatment sits alongside a reduced-calorie diet and increased physical activity, many people plan their spend in stages: stepping up the dose, a stable dose, and a review of whether to continue. Our monthly reviews are included, so you do not pay extra to talk through the next step. You can also explore related options on our page about current weight loss injections.
08 · Who can get it
Who can be prescribed Mounjaro, and the NHS route
Mounjaro is licensed for weight management in adults with a BMI of 30 or above, or a BMI between 27 and 30 with at least one weight-related condition. Those conditions include high blood pressure, high cholesterol, obstructive sleep apnoea, cardiovascular disease, prediabetes or type 2 diabetes. It must be used alongside a reduced-calorie diet and increased physical activity.1 A prescriber will assess your BMI, medical history and current medicines before deciding whether it is suitable for you.11
This is why the answer to 'is a prescription required for Mounjaro?' is yes, always. It is a prescription-only medicine, and a legitimate supplier will never offer it without a consultation and a prescription. Our free online consultation is a short health questionnaire, followed by a review from a GPhC-registered prescriber. If the prescriber decides Mounjaro is not suitable, your order is refunded automatically in full.
The NHS picture
Mounjaro is available on the NHS, but access is being phased in over several years. NICE recommends it for adults with a BMI of at least 35 plus at least one weight-related condition. The NHS primary-care rollout began in June 2025 with the highest-need groups first, initially BMI 40+ with four or more qualifying conditions.46 Full rollout is expected to take years, which is why many people who meet the licensed criteria choose regulated private treatment rather than waiting.5
If you are on the NHS, a prescription carries the standard England prescription charge of £9.90 per item where it applies. Ask your GP whether you fall within the current groups. The NHS route and the private route are not rivals: some people start privately and move to NHS care when they become eligible, and some stay private for the speed and continuity.
Choosing between the routes
If you meet the NHS criteria and can wait, speak to your GP. If you meet the licensed criteria but not the current NHS groups, or you do not want to wait, private treatment from a registered pharmacy is the regulated alternative. What matters most is that the supply is regulated: a prescriber, a registered pharmacy, and a genuine pen.
Who should talk to a prescriber carefully first
Your prescriber will go through your medical history and current medicines. Mounjaro slows stomach emptying, which can reduce how well oral contraceptive pills are absorbed, so ask about contraception. The SmPC advises switching to a non-oral method, or adding a barrier method (such as condoms), for 4 weeks after starting Mounjaro and for 4 weeks after each dose increase.1 And if you take insulin or sulfonylureas, doses may need adjusting because of the risk of low blood sugar. These are conversations for the consultation, not reasons to avoid asking.7
You can begin with the free online consultation, which takes only a short health questionnaire. We support customers Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm, by email at support@everydaymeds.co.uk, via the account portal chat, or on 0333 207 0413.
09 · What results to expect
What the price is meant to deliver: trial results
In the SURMOUNT-1 trial of 2,539 adults, people taking tirzepatide alongside diet and exercise lost on average 15% of their body weight on 5mg, 19.5% on 10mg and 20.9% on 15mg over 72 weeks, compared with 3.1% with lifestyle changes alone.2 These are trial averages, and individual results vary. Treatment works alongside a reduced-calorie diet and increased physical activity, not instead of them.
It is fair to ask what you are getting for the money, and these results are the honest starting point. They describe a trial population over 72 weeks, not a promise about any one person's outcome. Trial averages do not predict your own result.
How many people reached key thresholds
At 72 weeks, 85% of participants on 5mg, 89% on 10mg and 91% on 15mg had lost at least 5% of their body weight. Half of participants on 10mg and 57% on 15mg lost at least 20% of their body weight.2 So the proportion who reached each threshold rose with the dose in this trial.
A worked example
Percentages are easier to picture as weight. For someone starting at 100 kg, 20.9% is about 21 kg, and 15% is about 15 kg, as trial averages for 15mg and 5mg respectively. Someone starting at a different weight would have a different figure from the same percentage. This is simple arithmetic on the trial averages, not a forecast.
What this means for the price you pay
Many people settle at a maintenance dose of 5mg, 10mg or 15mg — higher is not automatically better, and your prescriber will guide the right pace. A first year costs £2,399.88 if you stay on 5mg after your 2.5mg starting pen, up to £3,279.88 if you step up through every dose to 15mg, at standard prices.
If you want to see how our monthly reviews work in practice, they are included in the service. You can also track your own journey with GLPTrackr, our free companion app for iOS and Android.
Side effects and when to seek advice
Like all medicines, Mounjaro can cause side effects, and most are digestive. The most common, affecting more than 1 in 10 people, are nausea, diarrhoea, vomiting, constipation and abdominal discomfort. If you notice a new symptom, discuss it with your prescriber and report it through the MHRA Yellow Card scheme.19 Seek immediate medical help for severe, persistent stomach pain that may spread to your back, with or without vomiting (possible pancreatitis); pain in the upper right abdomen, fever or yellowing of skin or eyes (possible gallbladder problems); or signs of a severe allergic reaction such as swelling of the face or throat and difficulty breathing.
Mounjaro (tirzepatide) is supplied only after an online consultation reviewed by a GPhC-registered prescriber, and individual results vary.
10 · Buying safely
Buying Mounjaro safely: genuine pens and fair prices
The safest price is the one from a pharmacy you can verify. The MHRA has seized thousands of fake weight-loss pens in the UK and has issued alerts after falsified Mounjaro pens were identified. Fake pens have caused hospitalisations, and some contained insulin rather than tirzepatide.7 A low price from an unverified seller is therefore not a bargain, it is a risk.
Only buy from a pharmacy you can verify on the GPhC register, never from social media, beauty salons or unverified websites. Genuine treatment always involves a prescription and a clinical consultation.12 Any seller offering to supply without a consultation or prescription is not operating legitimately.
How genuine supply works
Mounjaro is manufactured by Eli Lilly. Genuine UK stock is supplied through Lilly's official distribution to licensed pharmacies, and every pen carries a batch number and expiry date that can be checked. We supply through official LillyDirect supply, with genuine KwikPens across all six doses, 2.5mg to 15mg.
Checking your pen when it arrives
A genuine UK Mounjaro pen comes from a registered pharmacy with a batch number and expiry date, arrives cold-chain packaged, and the solution inside is clear and colourless.13 Do not use a pen that:
- has been frozen;
- looks cloudy or discoloured;
- has particles in it;
- is past its expiry; or
- has been out of the fridge for more than 30 days in use, or has been above 30°C.
If supply or packaging ever seems wrong, check the pharmacy on the GPhC register and contact the pharmacy before injecting. Our team can be reached Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm, on 0333 207 0413 or at support@everydaymeds.co.uk. Delivery arrives free and next-day by tracked DPD service in temperature-controlled, discreet packaging.
Red flags on price and process
- A price far below every other provider, with no dose or date stated.
- No consultation, or a consultation that is only a tick-box with no prescriber.
- No GPhC registration number you can look up.
- Payment requested by bank transfer to a personal account, or via a social media message.
- Pens without a batch number or expiry date, or in unusual packaging.
Refunds and what happens if something is wrong
Declined consultations are refunded automatically in full. Dispensed prescription medicines cannot be returned except where an item is faulty, damaged or wrong; contact us within 3 days in that case. Refunds take 5–10 working days. We also keep it simple: the consultation is free, and the price shown is the price paid.
A short summary for your budget
Our standard prices are £169.99 at 2.5mg up to £299.99 at 15mg, and you can view the live table on the Mounjaro pen page. Prices checked 25 October 2026.
How ordering works
How ordering works at EverydayMeds
Three steps, with our pharmacy team alongside you.
Step 1: Online consultation — 5–10 minutes
Complete a confidential health questionnaire covering BMI, medical history and current medication. No payment is taken until you're approved.
Step 2: Prescriber review — usually same day
A UK registered prescriber checks your suitability against the licensed criteria (BMI ≥30, or ≥27 with a weight-related condition) and contraindications, and confirms your starting dose.
Step 3: Next-day tracked delivery
Dispensed by our GPhC-registered pharmacy in temperature-controlled packaging with needles and a sharps bin included. Orders approved by 3pm for next-day tracked delivery.
Prescription and dispatch follow clinical approval. Confirm current delivery options when ordering.
Afterwards you're not on your own: dose-change reviews are built in before each step up, our pharmacist team is available for side-effect questions, and repeat orders re-check suitability rather than auto-shipping.
