Mounjaro 15mg in the UK currently costs £293.99 for a first order and £298.99 for repeat monthly orders. One pen contains four weekly doses, so the pen price is effectively the cost for four weeks of treatment at this dose.

Mounjaro 15mg is the maximum licensed dose for adults. It is reached gradually after starting at a lower dose and increasing only when appropriate. For adults who are considering Mounjaro for weight management or are already prescribed it, this page explains the current 15mg price, what the monthly and yearly cost could look like, and the main information to know before reaching this strength.

15mg is one of the doses studied separately in the SURMOUNT 1 clinical trial. This page therefore looks at the published results for this dose, rather than using a general figure for Mounjaro. It also explains how dose increases work, possible side effects, how the price compares with other Mounjaro doses, what ordering through a GPhC registered UK online pharmacy involves, and how diet and physical activity form part of treatment.

Mounjaro is a prescription only medicine. Access through a private provider is subject to a clinical assessment by a UK registered prescriber. Knowing the current price, the clinical evidence for 15mg and how dose increases work can help you understand the potential cost of treatment and have a more informed discussion with your prescriber.

Key things to know

  • 15mg is the maximum licensed Mounjaro dose for adults and is reached through gradual dose increases. It is not a starting dose.
  • Pricing is shown in three tiers: the regular price, the current price with a discount applied, and the Future Orders price for repeat orders.
  • 15mg was one of the doses studied separately in the SURMOUNT 1 trial, which reported average weight changes at 72 weeks.
  • One KwikPen contains four weekly doses, so one pen provides four weeks of treatment.
  • Prices can change, so check the current price at checkout before placing an order.

Current 15mg Pricing and Monthly Cost

Pricing tierPriceEffective monthly cost
Regular price£323.99£323.99
Current price with discount£293.99£293.99
Future Orders price£298.99£298.99

One 15mg KwikPen contains four weekly doses, so it provides four weeks of treatment. This means the pen price is effectively the cost for four weeks at this dose.

The current price of £293.99 applies to the first order, while the Future Orders price of £298.99 applies to repeat monthly orders according to the pricing shown on this page. If you are planning to stay on 15mg, the Future Orders price is the figure to consider when estimating your ongoing cost.

Private Mounjaro prices can vary between providers and doses. NICE lists a company price of £330 for a four week supply of the 12.5mg and 15mg strengths, before VAT and any confidential NHS commercial arrangement. Private pharmacy prices can therefore differ from the list price.

It is also worth checking the price shown at checkout. Previous versions of this page have displayed different prices for 15mg, including £278.99 for a first order and £293.99 for returning customers. The current figures shown in the live pricing section are £293.99 for the current price and £298.99 for Future Orders.

Similar differences have also appeared on other dose specific pages. This suggests that some website pricing may need to be reviewed and kept consistent with the live checkout price. For this reason, always confirm the final price before ordering.

What Real Trial Data Shows for the 15mg Dose

15mg was one of three Mounjaro doses studied separately in the SURMOUNT 1 trial, alongside 5mg and 10mg. The study included adults with obesity or overweight and at least one weight related health condition, without diabetes. Participants received tirzepatide or placebo alongside lifestyle support for 72 weeks.

At 72 weeks, the average weight change in the 15mg group was 20.9% using the treatment regimen estimand. The efficacy estimand reported an average weight change of 22.5% among participants who followed the treatment as planned.

These figures are averages from a clinical trial. They do not predict how much weight an individual person will lose. Weight changes can vary from person to person depending on factors such as starting weight, treatment response, health conditions, diet, physical activity and how long treatment is continued.

The trial also found that 91% of participants receiving 15mg achieved at least 5% weight loss using the treatment regimen estimand. Around 71% achieved at least 15% weight loss and 57% achieved at least 20% weight loss. These are trial results and should not be treated as expected results for every person taking Mounjaro.

How Trial Results Compare Across the Three Reported Doses

DoseAverage weight change at 72 weeks, treatment regimen estimandAverage weight change at 72 weeks, efficacy estimand
5mg15.0%16.0%
10mg19.5%21.4%
15mg20.9%22.5%

The SURMOUNT 1 results show higher average weight loss at the higher doses studied. However, this does not mean that everyone will need 15mg or that a higher dose will always be better for an individual person. Your prescriber will consider your response and how well you tolerate each dose when deciding whether to increase it.

It is also important not to compare results from different weight management medicines as though they came from the same trial. Different studies can use different populations, treatment periods and methods. This is why results from Mounjaro and medicines such as Wegovy should be considered in the context of their individual clinical trials.

Reaching 15mg: Not a Starting Point

Nobody starts Mounjaro at 15mg. For adults, the starting dose is 2.5mg once a week for four weeks. The dose is then increased to 5mg once a week. If further increases are needed, the dose can be increased in 2.5mg steps, with at least four weeks spent on the current dose before moving higher. The maximum adult dose is 15mg once a week.

This means the usual dose sequence can include 2.5mg, 5mg, 7.5mg, 10mg, 12.5mg and 15mg. However, not everyone needs to reach the maximum dose. Your prescriber can decide whether an increase is appropriate based on your response and tolerability.

In the SURMOUNT 1 trial, doses were increased during a 20 week dose escalation period before the maintenance period.

Do not increase your Mounjaro dose yourself. Always follow the dose prescribed by your doctor or other qualified prescriber.

How 15mg Compares to Other Doses: Mounjaro Price Comparison UK

DoseCurrent priceFuture Orders price
2.5mg starting dose£144.99£149.99
5mg£174.99£179.99
7.5mg£224.99£229.99
10mg£244.99£249.99
12.5mg£274.99£279.99
15mg maximum dose£293.99£298.99

Private pharmacy prices can vary considerably. NICE lists the company price for a four week supply as £133 for 2.5mg, £180 for 5mg, £255 for 7.5mg and 10mg, and £330 for 12.5mg and 15mg, excluding VAT and before the confidential NHS commercial arrangement. Private providers may charge different prices.

The cost generally increases as the dose increases. If you progress towards 15mg, your treatment cost may therefore increase over time as you move through the different strengths.

However, the dose you use should not be chosen based on price alone. Your prescriber will consider whether the dose is suitable for you and how you respond to treatment.

Estimating Annual Cost at 15mg

If you stayed on 15mg for a full year and paid the Future Orders price of £298.99 for each four week pen, 13 pens would cost approximately £3,886.87.

This is an estimate based on 13 pens at the stated Future Orders price. It does not represent the actual cost for every patient. Your first year may cost less if you spend some time on lower doses before reaching 15mg, and prices may change over time.

Side Effects at the Maximum Dose

Mounjaro can cause side effects, particularly effects involving the digestive system. Commonly reported effects include nausea, diarrhoea, constipation, vomiting and abdominal discomfort. These effects can be more noticeable when the dose is increased and may improve over time for some people.

Because 15mg is the maximum adult dose, your prescriber should consider how well you tolerate lower doses before recommending an increase. Do not increase your dose without medical advice.

If you experience severe or persistent symptoms, speak to your prescriber or seek appropriate medical advice. Severe, persistent stomach pain can be a sign of a serious condition and should not simply be ignored.

For a full list of possible side effects and important safety information, read the patient information leaflet supplied with your medicine and speak to your healthcare professional.

Bundle Options at 15mg

If your prescriber has confirmed that 15mg is an appropriate dose for you, a multi pen bundle may be available.

Bundle prices can change, so check the current price shown at checkout before ordering. A bundle should not be used to encourage a higher dose or longer treatment period than your prescriber has recommended.

Supporting Your Results at 15mg

Mounjaro is intended to be used alongside a reduced calorie diet and increased physical activity for weight management. This was also part of the lifestyle support provided during the SURMOUNT 1 trial.

Eating a balanced diet can help you meet your nutritional needs while your appetite may be reduced. Try to include a good source of protein, vegetables, fruit, whole grains and other nutritious foods where appropriate.

Regular physical activity can also support general health. Strength based exercise may be useful for maintaining muscle strength while losing weight, but the right level of activity depends on your health and fitness.

You do not need to make these changes perfectly. Small, realistic changes that you can maintain over time may be easier to manage alongside treatment.

Mounjaro is also available through the NHS in England for certain adults with obesity and is being introduced in phases. Current NHS guidance says eligibility depends on BMI and the number of certain weight related health conditions. The first primary care cohort requires a BMI of at least 40 and at least four qualifying conditions. From around June 2026, access is planned to expand to people with at least four qualifying conditions and a BMI of 35 to 39.9. Further expansion is planned from around March 2027.

NHS eligibility is separate from private prescribing. If you are considering NHS treatment, speak to your GP or local NHS service about your eligibility.

What's Included in the Price

The price shown on this page includes the online clinical consultation, prescription and dispensing service provided as part of the EverydayMeds process, subject to clinical approval.

Mounjaro is a prescription only medicine, so a suitable UK registered prescriber must assess you before treatment is supplied. A legitimate pharmacy should also make its registration details available so you can check who is supplying your medicine.

Our GPhC registered pharmacy dispenses the medicine following the clinical assessment and prescription process.

The standard approval process is stated as taking around 3 working days, with a paid express option available for a faster turnaround. Check the current delivery and processing information before ordering, as these times can change.

Mounjaro should come with the appropriate patient information leaflet. Check the packaging and medicine when it arrives and contact the pharmacy if anything appears unusual.

Getting Started with EverydayMeds

Treatment begins with a free online clinical consultation. During this process, the UK registered prescribing team reviews your medical history, current medicines and other relevant information to decide whether Mounjaro is suitable for you.

If treatment is appropriate, adults start at 2.5mg once a week. Any later dose increase should be decided by your prescriber based on your response and how well you tolerate the medicine. Reaching 15mg is not required for everyone.

Mounjaro contains the active ingredient tirzepatide. The UK product information currently lists Mounjaro KwikPen in 2.5mg, 5mg, 7.5mg, 10mg, 12.5mg and 15mg strengths.

Be careful when buying prescription medicines online. Avoid sellers that cannot clearly show who is prescribing and dispensing the medicine. Do not buy Mounjaro from social media sellers or unregulated websites.

If you are unsure whether an online pharmacy is legitimate, check its registration details before ordering. You should also avoid products advertised as generic Mounjaro, as the UK medicines information currently lists Mounjaro as the tirzepatide product supplied by Eli Lilly.

All treatment supplied through EverydayMeds is subject to clinical assessment and dispensing through its GPhC registered pharmacy.
