01 · Price and how to order
What Mounjaro 15mg costs and how to order it online
The standard price of one 15mg pen is £329.99, which works out at £82.50 per week. The pen holds four weekly doses, so one pen covers four weeks. All six strengths, including 15mg, are in stock through our Mounjaro pen page, where the live price for each dose is shown.
New customers get £40 off their first order at any dose with code FIRST40. That includes people moving to us from another provider who are already on 15mg. Switching at 15mg? Your first order is £289.99. After that, every future order is £25 off the standard price (code DOSE25), so the ongoing monthly cost is the standard price less that reorder discount.
For context, across the UK pharmacies we track, Mounjaro pens ranged from £143.96 to £339.00 per month across all doses as of 11 October 2026. For the same dose, the gap between providers ran from £27 to £41. Compare like for like by dose, because a pen at one strength is not priced like a pen at another. Our 15mg price comparison goes into this in more detail.
02 · What you get
What the price includes
The consultation is free, and the price shown is the price paid, with no hidden fees. Every order includes needles, a sharps bin and injection guidance. Delivery is free, next-day, tracked with DPD, in temperature-controlled, discreet packaging. Saturday delivery is £14.99. If you order by 3pm, we dispatch the same day.
Our Mounjaro comes through official LillyDirect supply, direct from Eli Lilly's UK distribution, as genuine KwikPens. Ongoing monthly reviews, dose-titration support and side-effect support from the prescribing team are part of the service. Repeat orders re-check suitability and nothing ships automatically, so there is no subscription lock-in. You can pay by Visa or Mastercard, or use Klarna or pay-monthly options.
03 · Ordering
How ordering works in four steps
- Free online consultation. A short health questionnaire, with no charge and no obligation. Start your free consultation to begin.
- Prescriber review. A GPhC-registered prescriber reviews your answers, not a scoring script. Payment is taken when you place the order; if the prescriber decides the treatment is not suitable, the order is refunded automatically in full.
- Dispensing and dispatch. Our registered pharmacy dispenses your pen, with same-day dispatch when ordered by 3pm.
- Delivery. Free next-day tracked delivery, in cold-chain packaging.
For a broader view of how we compare with other providers, see the main Buy Mounjaro page.
Only buy prescription injectables from a pharmacy you can find on the GPhC register. Treat any seller offering to supply without a consultation or prescription as unsafe. Our registration number is 9012878, and you can check it on the public register.12 Counterfeit medicine alerts and the Yellow Card scheme are covered by the MHRA.7
04 · Who 15mg suits
Who Mounjaro 15mg is for
The 15mg pen is the top strength of the Mounjaro range, and it is not a starting dose. Mounjaro is the brand name for tirzepatide, a once-weekly injection made by Eli Lilly. In the UK it is licensed for weight management in adults and for type 2 diabetes. It comes as a pre-filled multi-dose KwikPen in six strengths: 2.5mg, 5mg, 7.5mg, 10mg, 12.5mg and 15mg.1
In practice, 15mg suits two groups. The first is people who have stepped up through the lower doses with their prescriber and are still being guided upward. The second is people who are already on 15mg with another provider and want to carry on at the same strength. In both cases the prescriber still reviews your history and current medicines before approving the order.
Higher is not automatically better. Many people settle at a maintenance dose of 5mg, 10mg or 15mg, depending on how they respond and tolerate treatment.1 If you feel well and your progress is steady on a lower strength, there may be no reason to go higher. Your prescriber guides that decision, and we do not push anyone toward a dose.
As for who can be treated at all, Mounjaro is licensed for weight management in adults with a BMI of 30 or above. It is also licensed for adults with a BMI between 27 and 30 who have at least one weight-related condition. Examples include high blood pressure, high cholesterol, obstructive sleep apnoea, cardiovascular disease, prediabetes and type 2 diabetes. It must be used alongside a reduced-calorie diet and increased physical activity. A prescriber assesses your BMI, medical history and current medicines before deciding whether it is suitable for you.1
Look for GPhC registration, a real prescriber review and clear pricing. These matter more than the strength you plan to buy.
05 · Dose ladder to 15mg
How the dose ladder reaches 15mg
Everyone starts Mounjaro on 2.5mg once a week, and the 15mg dose is reached only by stepping up. The starting dose is about letting your body adjust, not about weight loss itself. After at least 4 weeks the dose increases to 5mg. It can then step up by 2.5mg at a minimum of 4-week intervals, through 7.5mg, 10mg and 12.5mg, to a maximum of 15mg weekly, depending on how you respond and tolerate it.1
That is the licensed minimum pace. Many people settle at a lower maintenance dose and never need 15mg. Your prescriber guides the pace, and can hold you at a dose for longer if that suits you better.
If you step up after 4 weeks on each dose, your first four pens (2.5mg to 10mg) cost £959.96 at standard prices. A new customer's first order is £40 less, and every later order is £25 less. Whether you continue to 12.5mg and 15mg after that depends on your response.
Do not treat the ladder as a target to complete.
If a dose feels too strong, speak to your prescriber rather than changing how you use the pen.
Each KwikPen contains four weekly doses.
If you are moving from another provider at 15mg, tell the prescriber your current dose and the date of your last injection. They will check that the timing and your suitability fit the licence before approving a first order with us.
06 · How tirzepatide works
How does Mounjaro work?
Mounjaro works by activating two natural gut-hormone receptors at once, GIP and GLP-1. Tirzepatide is the first treatment of its kind to do this. Together these actions help regulate appetite, slow how quickly the stomach empties, and improve the way the body responds to insulin.1
In practice, most people feel fuller sooner and less hungry between meals, which supports a reduced-calorie diet. That is the point of the medicine: it makes the diet and activity changes easier to sustain, but it does not replace them. Treatment is licensed for use alongside a reduced-calorie diet and increased physical activity.1
This dual action is what distinguishes Mounjaro from single-action GLP-1 medicines such as semaglutide, which is sold as Wegovy and Ozempic. Both are licensed, effective treatments, and the right one depends on your history, tolerance and prescriber's advice. If you would like to see how the injectable options sit side by side, our online pharmacy GLP-1 guide gives an overview.
Tirzepatide has a half-life of about five days. After a final dose it takes roughly 4–5 weeks to clear the system. There is no way to speed this up, and nothing needs doing while it clears.1 This matters for two practical reasons. First, a missed or delayed dose does not leave your body immediately. Second, if you stop treatment, any effects fade gradually rather than overnight.
The mechanism is the same at every dose.
The early days after each injection can bring mild nausea, altered appetite and tiredness. These are the commonest early effects and usually settle.1 For the full list of possible side effects and what to do about them, read the patient information leaflet supplied with your pen.13 Report any suspected side effect through the Yellow Card scheme.19
Always tell the prescriber about every medicine you take, including over-the-counter products. They review it as part of the consultation, and again whenever you reorder.
07 · What trials showed
What the SURMOUNT-1 trial showed at 15mg
In SURMOUNT-1, people taking 15mg tirzepatide lost on average 20.9% of their body weight over 72 weeks. This was a trial of 2,539 adults taking tirzepatide alongside diet and exercise. They lost on average 15% of body weight on 5mg, 19.5% on 10mg and 20.9% on 15mg. The comparison group, on lifestyle changes alone, lost 3.1%.2
These are trial averages. Individual results vary, and treatment works alongside a reduced-calorie diet and increased physical activity, not instead of them. Trial averages do not predict your own result.2
To make that concrete, for someone starting at 100 kg, 20.9% is about 21 kg. That is straight arithmetic from the trial percentage, applied to an example starting weight, and it is not a forecast for any individual. Your starting weight, dose, tolerance and habits all affect what happens.
The trial also reported how many people reached particular thresholds at 72 weeks. 85% of participants on 5mg, 89% on 10mg and 91% on 15mg had lost at least 5% of their body weight. Half of participants on 10mg and 57% on 15mg lost at least 20% of their body weight.2
Note what these figures do and do not say. Trial averages at each dose differ, and individual results vary. The right maintenance dose is the one that works for you with tolerable side effects.
The trial measured outcomes at 72 weeks, not days or a few months. That timeframe is worth keeping in mind when you judge your own progress. Weight loss on Mounjaro is gradual by design.
If you want to see how 15mg fits into the wider choice of injections, our online pharmacy weight loss injection UK page sets out the options, and the all weight loss treatments hub lists everything we dispense.
08 · Realistic pace
What results to expect, and when
Weight loss on Mounjaro builds gradually over months, not days. The first weeks on 2.5mg are an adjustment phase and losses are usually modest. Most measurable progress builds from 5mg onward, month by month. The SURMOUNT-1 trial measured results at 72 weeks, so think in months, not days.2
Experiences in the first weeks differ widely. Some people notice an appetite change and early loss in week one. Others feel little until a higher dose. Both are normal. Early loss includes water weight, so the trend over weeks matters more than any single weigh-in. Mild nausea, altered appetite and tiredness in the first days after each injection are the commonest early effects and usually settle.1
Judge progress by the trend rather than individual weigh-ins. A weekly average, or a monthly measurement taken at the same time of day, is more informative than daily changes. Our free companion app, GLPTrackr (iOS and Android), is there to help you log your journey, if you find that useful.
Treatment response is reviewed by your prescriber. If you have lost less than 5% of your starting weight after 6 months on the highest dose you can tolerate, your prescriber will discuss whether continuing or stopping is right for you.1 That review is built into our monthly clinical reviews, so you are not left guessing.
This has an important consequence for 15mg. Reaching the top dose is not the goal in itself. If you do well on a lower strength, staying there is a perfectly sound plan. If you reach the highest dose you can tolerate and the response is limited, the conversation with your prescriber is about whether to continue.
Remember that treatment is licensed alongside a reduced-calorie diet and more physical activity. The medicine supports those changes. It does not work in place of them, and results vary from person to person.
Nothing about the dose ladder obliges you to go up.
09 · Year cost planning
What a year of treatment costs
A first year at standard prices costs £2,711.88 if you settle at 5mg, and up to £3,599.88 if you settle at 15mg. These totals cover 52 weeks, or 13 pens, and include the step-up through the lower strengths. A new customer's first order is £40 less, and every later order is £25 less than these standard figures.
The year figure for 15mg is the upper bound because it assumes you reach 15mg and stay there. If you settle at another maintenance dose, work from that dose's monthly price instead. At standard prices, 7.5mg is £279.99 per pen, 10mg is £290.99 and 12.5mg is £319.99.
| Phase | Length | Standard cost |
|---|---|---|
| Settling at 5mg | First year, 52 weeks, 13 pens | £2,711.88 |
| Settling at 15mg | First year, 52 weeks, 13 pens | £3,599.88 |
| One 15mg pen once there | 4 weeks | £329.99 |
Price changes in the market matter too. Eli Lilly announced a UK list-price increase for Mounjaro on 14 August 2025, effective 1 September 2025. Pharmacy sell prices vary because of confidential discounts, which is why we show our own prices live and dated.
Payment can be spread. We accept Visa and Mastercard, and offer Klarna and pay-monthly options, with no subscription. Repeat orders re-check suitability and do not ship automatically, so you control when and whether you reorder.
10 · NHS and private
NHS or private: the honest picture
Mounjaro is available on the NHS, but access is being phased in over several years. NICE recommends it for adults with a BMI of at least 35 plus at least one weight-related condition. The NHS primary-care rollout began in June 2025 with the highest-need groups first, initially BMI 40+ with four or more qualifying conditions.46
Full rollout is expected to take years, which is why many people who meet the licensed criteria choose regulated private treatment rather than waiting. That is a personal choice, and the NHS route is a perfectly valid one if you qualify. Your GP is the right first conversation if you think you might be eligible. The NHS also publishes its own guide to the medicine.5
The private licence is wider than the current NHS priority groups. Privately, Mounjaro is licensed for adults with a BMI of 30 or above, or a BMI between 27 and 30 with at least one weight-related condition. Whether you are treated privately or on the NHS, the medicine is the same, and so is the licensed dose ladder.
If you start privately, tell your GP, because they hold your wider medical record and can support you alongside the prescribing team. Treat that as sensible practice rather than a requirement of ordering.
When you compare routes, it helps to ask four things. How soon can treatment start? Who reviews my response? What does it cost? What happens at the end? Private treatment generally lets you start sooner. The NHS route has a different cost structure. The right answer depends on your eligibility and circumstances.
If you are on the NHS and want to understand private options, or vice versa, our reputable UK online pharmacy for Mounjaro guide covers what a trustworthy private supplier should offer. Those basics are GPhC registration, a prescriber review, and clear dated pricing.
NHS prescription charges, where they apply in England, are £9.90 per item. That is separate from private treatment costs, and whether a charge applies depends on your exemptions.
11 · Injecting and doses
How to inject Mounjaro 15mg
Mounjaro is injected under the skin once a week, on the same day each week, at any time of day, with or without food.1 The routine is the same at 15mg as at 2.5mg. Only the pen strength changes.
Licensed injection sites are the stomach area, at least 5cm from the belly button, the front of the thigh, or the back of the upper arm if someone else gives the injection. Rotate the site with each dose. Each KwikPen contains four weekly doses.1 Follow the pen's instructions for the injection itself, and read the patient information leaflet supplied with your pen.13
You set the dose by turning the dose knob until the indicator shows the correct dose in the window.
There is no best time of day. Mounjaro works the same morning or evening, with or without food. What matters is the same day each week. Pick a day and time you will remember. Many people choose a weekend morning so early side effects fall on days off.1
If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you can within 4 days (96 hours) of the scheduled time, then carry on with your usual day. If more than 4 days have passed, skip the missed dose entirely and take the next one on your normal day. Never take two doses within 3 days of each other.1
You can change your weekly injection day if needed, as long as at least 3 days (72 hours) have passed since your last dose.1 That helps if your routine changes, for example around a holiday or a shift pattern.
Needles, a sharps bin and injection guidance are included with every order. Dispose of used needles in the sharps bin and never share a pen. If you are unsure about any step, contact our support team Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm, by email at support@everydaymeds.co.uk, through the account portal chat, or by phone on 0333 207 0413.
At 15mg, as at every dose, report anything unexpected to your prescriber and through the Yellow Card scheme.19 Do not adjust the dose yourself.
12 · Storage and travel
Storing and travelling with your pens
Keep Mounjaro pens in a fridge at 2–8°C and never freeze them. Once in use, a pen can be kept out of the fridge not above 30°C for up to 30 days, which is useful for short trips, after which it should be discarded. Keep the pen cap on to protect it from light, and never use a pen that has been frozen.1
If you order several pens, keep the spare ones in the fridge until first use. Unopened pens keep until the expiry date printed on the box.13
If an unopened pen has been out of the fridge, check with the pharmacy before using it. Do not rely on a day limit you remember from elsewhere. Figures circulating online often come from other countries' labels, and the UK patient information leaflet is the reference for UK pens. Contact us and we will advise.
You can fly with Mounjaro. Carry pens in hand luggage, because hold luggage can fall below freezing. Ideally use a cool bag, and carry the prescription label or a copy of your prescription. In-use pens tolerate up to 30 days not above 30°C, so most holidays need no special arrangements. For hot climates, use an insulated pouch. Check destination rules for travelling with prescription injectables before you fly.1
Open the parcel promptly and put the pens in the fridge. If anything arrives damaged or wrong, contact us within 3 days. Dispensed prescription medicines cannot otherwise be returned, so check the order on arrival.
Refunds, where they apply, take 5–10 working days. Payment is taken when you place the order; if the prescriber decides the treatment is not suitable, the order is refunded automatically in full.
Good storage protects the medicine you have paid for. A pen left in a hot car or a freezer compartment is outside the tested window, and sterility and potency are no longer assured. If in doubt, do not use it and ask the pharmacy.
13 · Serious side effects
Serious side effects: when to get help straight away
Serious side effects are uncommon but need urgent attention. Seek immediate medical help for: severe, persistent stomach pain that may spread to your back, with or without vomiting (possible pancreatitis); pain in the upper right abdomen, fever or yellowing of skin/eyes (possible gallbladder problems); or signs of a severe allergic reaction such as swelling of the face or throat and difficulty breathing. If you take insulin or a sulfonylurea alongside Mounjaro, watch for low blood sugar (shakiness, sweating, confusion) — your prescriber may need to adjust those medicines.1
How ordering works
How ordering works at EverydayMeds
Three steps, with our pharmacy team alongside you.
Step 1: Online consultation — 5–10 minutes
Complete a confidential health questionnaire covering BMI, medical history and current medication. No payment is taken until you're approved.
Step 2: Prescriber review — usually same day
A UK registered prescriber checks your suitability against the licensed criteria (BMI ≥30, or ≥27 with a weight-related condition) and contraindications, and confirms your starting dose.
Step 3: Next-day tracked delivery
Dispensed by our GPhC-registered pharmacy in temperature-controlled packaging with needles and a sharps bin included. Orders approved by 3pm for next-day tracked delivery.
Prescription and dispatch follow clinical approval. Confirm current delivery options when ordering.
Afterwards you're not on your own: dose-change reviews are built in before each step up, our pharmacist team is available for side-effect questions, and repeat orders re-check suitability rather than auto-shipping.
