A quick overview
What to know
before you start.
-
One Mounjaro KwikPen holds four weekly doses, so three months of 12.5mg is three pens ordered and reviewed month by month.
-
12.5mg is never a starting dose. Everyone begins on 2.5mg and steps up after at least four weeks per rung.
-
The standard price of one 12.5mg pen is £319.99; new customers save £40 on a first order with code FIRST40.
-
Repeat orders re-check suitability and there is no auto-shipping, so your prescriber stays in control of your dose.
In this guide
01 · The short answer
Can you get a 3 month supply of Mounjaro 12.5mg?
You can plan for three months of 12.5mg, but it is supplied as three monthly pens rather than one large block. Each KwikPen contains four weekly doses1, so one pen covers four weeks and three pens cover twelve weeks. Every order goes through a prescriber review, and repeat orders re-check suitability with no auto-shipping.
That rhythm exists for a reason. Tirzepatide is adjusted according to how you respond and tolerate it1. A prescriber who sees you each month can hold your dose, step it up, or step it down within the licence. Our guide to getting a multi-month supply covers the wider question for every dose.
If you are already established on 12.5mg with another provider, you can switch to us. A new customer gets £40 off their first order at any dose with code FIRST40, and every later order is £25 off (code DOSE25). You can see the live price for each strength on the Mounjaro pen page.
02 · Cost
What three months of 12.5mg costs
One 12.5mg pen has a standard price of £319.99, which works out at £80.00 per week. For three consecutive pens at that dose, you pay the standard monthly price for each of the three months, before discounts. A new customer's first order is £40 less, and every later order is £25 off the standard price.
The price you see is the price you pay. The consultation is free, there are no hidden fees and there is no subscription. Delivery is free, next-day and tracked in temperature-controlled packaging, and Saturday delivery is £14.99. You can pay by Visa or Mastercard, or use Klarna and pay-monthly options if you prefer to spread the cost.

Across the UK pharmacies we track, Mounjaro pens ranged from £143.96 to £339.00 per month when we checked on 10 October 2026, depending on dose and provider. The gap between providers for the same dose ranged from £27 to £41.
03 · Ordering
How ordering works
Payment is taken when you place the order; if the prescriber decides the treatment is not suitable, the order is refunded automatically in full. Our free online consultation is the starting point.
- Free consultation. Complete a short health questionnaire. It costs nothing and carries no obligation.
- Prescriber review. A GPhC-registered prescriber reviews your answers, not a scoring script. Payment is taken when you place the order; if the prescriber decides the treatment is not suitable, the order is refunded automatically in full.
- Dispatch and delivery. Our registered pharmacy dispenses your pen and dispatches the same day when ordered by 3pm, with free next-day tracked delivery. Needles, a sharps bin and injection guidance come with every order.
Our supply comes through official LillyDirect, direct from Eli Lilly's UK distribution, and the doses are in stock. For the other multi-month routes, see our guides to a three-month supply bundle and 12.5mg bundle deals.
04 · Reaching 12.5mg safely
How you actually reach 12.5mg
12.5mg is the fifth rung of a six-step ladder, so you reach it by stepping up rather than ordering it on day one. Everyone starts Mounjaro on 2.5mg once a week. That starting dose is about letting your body adjust, not about weight loss itself1.
After at least four weeks the dose increases to 5mg. It can then step up by 2.5mg at a minimum of four-week intervals, through 7.5mg and 10mg to 12.5mg, up to a maximum of 15mg weekly, depending on how you respond and tolerate it111.
A person asking for a three-month supply of 12.5mg usually falls into one of two groups: someone already stabilised on 12.5mg elsewhere, or someone planning ahead for where the ladder may lead.
Higher is not automatically better
Many people settle at a maintenance dose of 5mg, 10mg or 15mg1. There is no requirement to climb every rung. If you feel well and are making progress on a lower dose, your prescriber may keep you there. Equally, 12.5mg is a valid maintenance dose if that is where you respond best.
Side effects are the main reason a prescriber may hold you on a dose for longer than four weeks.
What this means for planning
If you are switching to us at 12.5mg, tell the prescriber your current dose and how long you have been on it. They will check suitability and decide the right starting point with us. If you are working up the ladder, your three-month window will more likely span two or three different strengths. You can check the live prices on our three-month supply price guide.
Do not skip rungs to reach 12.5mg faster.
05 · The pen, doses and clicks
What is in a pen
A Mounjaro KwikPen contains four weekly doses, whatever strength it is1. A 12.5mg pen is therefore a four-week supply, and three pens give twelve weeks of weekly injections. Mounjaro is injected under the skin once a week, on the same day each week, at any time of day, with or without food13.
Injection sites and technique
Licensed injection sites are the stomach area (at least 5cm from the belly button), the front of the thigh, or the back of the upper arm if someone else gives the injection. Rotate the site with each dose13. Follow the pen's instructions for the injection itself. Our orders include needles, a sharps bin and written injection guidance.
If you miss a dose
If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you can within 4 days (96 hours) of the scheduled time, then carry on with your usual day. If more than 4 days have passed, skip the missed dose entirely and take the next one on your normal day. Never take two doses within 3 days of each other1.
Changing your injection day
You can change your weekly injection day if needed, as long as at least 3 days (72 hours) have passed since your last dose1. There is no best time of day: Mounjaro works the same in the morning or evening. What matters is the same day each week. Many people choose a weekend morning so early side effects fall on days off.
When in doubt, contact our support team or your prescriber rather than guessing.
06 · Cost over three months and a year
Planning the cost over three months and a year
The cost of three months at 12.5mg is three monthly pens at the standard price of £319.99 each, before discounts. A new customer's first order is £40 less with code FIRST40, and every later order is £25 off the standard price. Because each order is reviewed separately, you only commit to one pen at a time.
The three phases of spending
Most people's spending falls into three phases rather than one flat rate.
| Phase | Pens | Cost at standard prices |
|---|---|---|
| Maintenance at 12.5mg | 1 per 4 weeks | £319.99 per month |
| First year if you settle at 5mg | 13 | £2,711.88 |
| First year if you settle at 15mg | 13 | £3,599.88 |
A first year is £2,711.88 if you settle at 5mg, up to £3,599.88 at 15mg, all before discounts. Your own total will differ if you settle on another strength.
Why the monthly price differs by dose
Each strength has its own price. Our live prices for the six strengths are on the Mounjaro pen page, and our guide to the three-month supply cost explains how the totals build up.
Comparing providers properly
When you compare, check the exact dose, whether delivery is free, and whether the consultation carries a charge. Across the UK pharmacies we track, the starting 2.5mg pen ranged from £143.96 to £179.99 on 10 October 2026. Boots' Mounjaro dose prices ranged from £179.00 to £339.00. Prices move, so always compare on the day you order.
Spreading the cost
Klarna and pay-monthly options are available, and there are no subscriptions. You can stop whenever you choose, because repeat orders are never auto-shipped.
07 · Monthly reviews and results
Why monthly reviews matter and what results to expect
Monthly reviews matter because weight loss on Mounjaro is gradual by design, and your dose should follow your response. Aftercare with us includes ongoing monthly reviews, dose titration and follow-up assessments by the prescribing team, plus side-effect support. Repeat orders re-check suitability.
What the trials measured
In the SURMOUNT-1 trial of 2,539 adults, people taking tirzepatide alongside diet and exercise lost on average 15% of their body weight on 5mg, 19.5% on 10mg and 20.9% on 15mg over 72 weeks, compared with 3.1% with lifestyle changes alone2. These are trial averages and individual results vary. Treatment works alongside a reduced-calorie diet and increased physical activity, not instead of them. For someone starting at 100 kg, 20.9% is about 21 kg.
At 72 weeks, 85% of participants on 5mg, 89% on 10mg and 91% on 15mg had lost at least 5% of their body weight. Half of participants on 10mg and 57% on 15mg lost at least 20%2.
What to expect by three months
Three months in, most people are still on the lower rungs of the dose ladder, so trial-average losses at this stage are modest compared with the headline figures. In SURMOUNT-1, average weight loss built month by month, with the full 15–21% averages measured at 72 weeks, not 12. A sensible three-month expectation on a standard titration is mid single digits as a percentage of body weight, with wide individual variation. Slower early progress does not predict failure, because the dose you respond to may still be ahead of you2.
The early weeks
The 2.5mg starting weeks are about adjustment. Some people notice appetite change and early loss in week one, others feel little until a higher dose, and both are normal. Early loss includes water weight, so the trend over weeks matters more than any single weigh-in. Mild nausea, altered appetite and tiredness in the first days after each injection are the commonest early effects and usually settle.
Plateaus and review points
Plateaus of a few weeks are normal as the body adapts to a lower weight. Review food intake honestly, protect protein and activity, check sleep and alcohol, and discuss with your prescriber whether a step-up is appropriate if you are not yet at maximum. A plateau is not a reason to double doses or add unlicensed products. If you have lost less than 5% of your starting weight after 6 months on the highest dose you can tolerate, your prescriber will discuss whether continuing or stopping is right for you.
Beyond the scales
In trials, weight loss on tirzepatide came with average improvements in waist size, blood pressure, cholesterol and blood-sugar measures, and most participants with prediabetes returned to normal blood-sugar levels. These are trial-average secondary outcomes, not promises.
08 · Storage and travel
Storing and travelling with several pens
Keep Mounjaro pens in a fridge at 2–8°C and never freeze them13. Unopened pens should stay in the fridge and keep until the expiry date printed on the box.
In-use pens
Once in use, a pen can be kept out of the fridge not above 30°C for up to 30 days, which is useful for short trips, after which it should be discarded. Keep the pen cap on to protect it from light, and never use a pen that has been frozen13. A pen holds four weekly doses, so in normal use it will be finished within that window.
Unopened pens that left the fridge
If an unopened pen has been out of the fridge, check with the pharmacy before using it rather than relying on a remembered day limit. Contact us on 0333 207 0413 or at support@everydaymeds.co.uk, Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm.
Why stockpiling is not the plan
Because each repeat order re-checks suitability, we do not ship a long stock of a single high dose in one go. That also removes the storage burden of keeping three pens in your fridge, and it removes the risk of holding the wrong strength if your prescriber adjusts your dose. If your prescriber steps you down or holds you at a different rung, a stockpile of 12.5mg pens would simply be the wrong medicine.
Flying and holidays
You can fly with Mounjaro. Carry pens in hand luggage, because hold luggage can fall below freezing, ideally in a cool bag with the prescription label or a copy of your prescription. In-use pens tolerate up to 30 days not above 30°C, so most holidays need no special arrangements. For hot climates, use an insulated pouch. Check destination rules for travelling with prescription injectables before you fly13.
Delivery and cold chain
Our delivery is free, next-day and tracked with DPD, in discreet, temperature-controlled packaging. Put your pen in the fridge as soon as it arrives, unless it is the pen you are about to inject. If your parcel arrives damaged or wrong, contact us within 3 days.
09 · Safety, supply and off-label risks
Safety: genuine supply, and what not to try
The safest way to buy Mounjaro is from a registered UK pharmacy that supplies on prescription after a proper consultation. EverydayMeds is GPhC-registered (9012878), and you can verify that on the GPhC register12. Our pens are genuine KwikPens from official LillyDirect supply, sourced from Eli Lilly's UK distribution.
Counterfeit warnings
The MHRA has issued counterfeit medicine alerts on weight-loss injections7. Be cautious of sellers offering to supply without a consultation or prescription, sellers who promise specific results, and anything sold as a vial or in unmarked packaging. A bargain-priced 12.5mg pen from an unregulated source is a risk, not a saving.
Can you inject every two weeks?
Mounjaro is licensed as a once-weekly injection; its blood levels are designed around a 7-day cycle.
Contraception and other medicines
Mounjaro slows stomach emptying, which can reduce how well oral contraceptive pills are absorbed. The SmPC advises switching to a non-oral method, or adding a barrier method (such as condoms), for 4 weeks after starting Mounjaro and for 4 weeks after each dose increase.1 Tell your prescriber about every medicine you take. If you use insulin or sulfonylureas, doses may need adjusting because of the risk of low blood sugar, so your prescriber needs to know1.
How tirzepatide leaves the body
Tirzepatide has a half-life of about five days, so after a final dose it takes roughly 4–5 weeks to clear the system. There is no way to speed this up, and nothing needs doing while it clears1.
Reporting side effects
If you have a new symptom or side effect, tell your prescriber. You can also report it through the MHRA Yellow Card scheme19. Our team offers side-effect support as part of aftercare.
Refunds and returns
Declined consultations are refunded automatically in full. Dispensed prescription medicines cannot be returned except where faulty, damaged or the wrong item, and you should contact us within 3 days. Refunds take 5–10 working days.
10 · Serious side effects
Serious side effects: when to get help straight away
Serious side effects are uncommon but need urgent attention. Seek immediate medical help for: severe, persistent stomach pain that may spread to your back, with or without vomiting (possible pancreatitis); pain in the upper right abdomen, fever or yellowing of skin/eyes (possible gallbladder problems); or signs of a severe allergic reaction such as swelling of the face or throat and difficulty breathing. If you take insulin or a sulfonylurea alongside Mounjaro, watch for low blood sugar (shakiness, sweating, confusion) — your prescriber may need to adjust those medicines.1
11 · Eligibility and NHS access
Who can be prescribed Mounjaro, and the NHS picture
Mounjaro is licensed for weight management in adults with a BMI of 30 or above, or a BMI between 27 and 30 with at least one weight-related condition. Those conditions include high blood pressure, high cholesterol, obstructive sleep apnoea, cardiovascular disease, prediabetes or type 2 diabetes. It must be used alongside a reduced-calorie diet and increased physical activity1. A prescriber will assess your BMI, medical history and current medicines before deciding whether it is suitable for you.
NHS versus private
Mounjaro is available on the NHS, but access is being phased in over several years. NICE recommends it for adults with a BMI of at least 35 plus at least one weight-related condition4. The NHS primary-care rollout began in June 2025 with the highest-need groups first, initially BMI 40+ with four or more qualifying conditions6. Full rollout is expected to take years, which is why many people who meet the licensed criteria choose regulated private treatment rather than waiting. The NHS tirzepatide guide explains the medicine in more detail5.
If you qualify for NHS treatment, the NHS prescription charge is £9.90 in England, though whether a given NHS service prescribes at a given time depends on local rollout. Private treatment is the route for people who do not yet qualify or cannot wait.
Private route with us
Our free consultation is reviewed by a GPhC-registered prescriber. If you are suitable, you receive the pen and a plan for monthly reviews. If you are not suitable, the order is refunded automatically. You can also see our full range on the all weight loss treatments page, and read about the GLP-1 three-month supply approach for other medicines.
Who should not take Mounjaro
Mounjaro is a prescription-only medicine, supplied only after an online consultation reviewed by a GPhC-registered prescriber. You should not take Mounjaro if you are allergic to tirzepatide or any of its ingredients, and it should not be used during pregnancy or while trying to conceive. Your prescriber will take extra care, or may recommend against treatment, if you have a history of pancreatitis, severe gut or digestive disease, diabetic retinopathy, or gallbladder problems. Always share your full medical history and medicine list during consultation.
What to have ready
Have a list of your current medicines, your medical history and, if switching, your current dose and the date of your last injection. This helps the prescriber decide the right dose. Mounjaro must not be used during pregnancy, and it should be stopped at least one month before trying to conceive. If you become pregnant during treatment, stop the medicine and tell your prescriber promptly. Tell the prescriber if you are breastfeeding.
