Misoprististrac Weight Loss Drug: What It Is and What UK Pharmacies Supply (October 2026)

"Misoprististrac" is not a medicine name we recognise as a licensed weight loss drug; it looks like a misspelling, most likely of misoprostol, which we do not supply for weight loss. The licensed UK weight-management injection we dispense is Mounjaro (tirzepatide), reviewed by a GPhC-registered prescriber, with the 2.5mg starting pen at a standard £169.99 per month. A quick overview

What to know
before you start.

  • Misoprististrac is not a name we recognise for a licensed medicine; it is probably a misspelling of misoprostol.
  • We do not supply misoprostol for weight loss.
  • Mounjaro (tirzepatide) is licensed in the UK for weight management in adults who meet the BMI criteria.
  • Your first 2.5mg Mounjaro pen costs £129.99 with code FIRST40 (standard price £169.99).
In this guide

01 · The name

What is misoprististrac, and is it a weight loss drug?

Misoprististrac is not a recognised medicine name; we believe it is a typing error or a garbled version of misoprostol. We have found no licensed product by that name, and we do not supply anything sold under it. If a website offers a "misoprististrac weight loss drug", treat it with caution, because a medicine that cannot be named correctly cannot be checked against a regulator's register.

For any question about misoprostol itself, the patient information leaflet that comes with it and the prescriber or pharmacist who supplied it are the right sources.

If your real aim is weight loss, the better question is which treatments are licensed for that purpose in the UK, and how to obtain them safely.

02 · What is available

Which weight loss medicines can a UK pharmacy supply?

A UK pharmacy can supply licensed weight-management medicines only against a prescription, after a consultation. We supply Mounjaro (tirzepatide), a once-weekly injectable made by Eli Lilly. It is licensed in the UK for weight management in adults and for type 2 diabetes, and it comes as a pre-filled KwikPen in six strengths from 2.5mg to 15mg.1

The Mounjaro pen starts at a standard £169.99 per month for 2.5mg, and all six doses are in stock. Your first 2.5mg pen costs £129.99 with code FIRST40. Every later order is £25 off the standard price, with code DOSE25. Switching from another provider at a higher dose? Your first order at 15mg is £289.99.

Our consultation is free, and the price shown is the price paid. Payment is taken when you place the order; if the prescriber decides the treatment is not suitable, the order is refunded automatically in full. For the full range see all weight loss treatments.

03 · How ordering works

How ordering Mounjaro works

Ordering takes four steps, and you can start with our free consultation.

  • Free online consultation: a short health questionnaire, no charge and no obligation.
  • Prescriber review: a GPhC-registered prescriber reviews it; this is not a scoring script.
  • Dispensing and dispatch: our registered pharmacy dispenses, with same-day dispatch when ordered by 3pm.
  • Delivery: free next-day tracked delivery in temperature-controlled, discreet packaging. Saturday delivery is £14.99.

We source Mounjaro through official LillyDirect supply, direct from Eli Lilly's UK distribution, so you receive genuine KwikPens. Needles, a sharps bin and injection guidance come with every order.

04 · Why 2023 searches

Mounjaro and the NHS

As of October 2026, Mounjaro is available on the NHS, but access is being phased in over several years. NICE recommends it for adults with a BMI of at least 35 plus at least one weight-related condition.4

The NHS primary-care rollout began in June 2025 with the highest-need groups first, initially BMI 40+ with four or more qualifying conditions.6 Full rollout is expected to take years, which is why many people who meet the licensed criteria choose regulated private treatment rather than waiting.

If you saw a page that promised a pharmacy-bought pill in 2023 under an odd name, the safest course is to check the medicine against the GPhC register and the MHRA before acting on it.

05 · Checking a medicine is real

How to check that a weight loss product is genuine

Start with the pharmacy: genuine UK pharmacies appear on the GPhC public register.12 Ours is registered under number 9012878, and you can check it on the GPhC site.

Be wary of any seller that offers to supply prescription medicines without a consultation or prescription, uses a product name you cannot find anywhere else, or promises specific results. The MHRA publishes counterfeit medicine alerts and runs the Yellow Card scheme.7 If you have a side effect from any medicine, you can report it through the Yellow Card scheme.19

Misspelt or invented drug names are a common feature of low-quality listings. They make a product hard to verify, and that is exactly the problem.

06 · What Mounjaro is

What Mounjaro is and how it works

Mounjaro is the brand name for tirzepatide, a once-weekly injectable prescription medicine made by Eli Lilly.1 Tirzepatide is the first treatment of its kind to activate two natural gut-hormone receptors at once: GIP and GLP-1. Together these help regulate appetite, slow how quickly the stomach empties, and improve the way the body responds to insulin.1

In practice, most people feel fuller sooner and less hungry between meals, which supports a reduced-calorie diet. This dual action distinguishes it from single-action GLP-1 medicines such as semaglutide (Wegovy/Ozempic).1 Tirzepatide has a half-life of about five days, so after a final dose it takes roughly 4–5 weeks to clear the system. There is no way to speed this up, and nothing needs doing while it clears.1

You can read more in our guide to the Mounjaro drug and pharmacy supply.

07 · Who can use it

Who is Mounjaro licensed for?

Mounjaro is licensed for weight management in adults with a BMI of 30 or above, or a BMI between 27 and 30 with at least one weight-related condition. Examples are high blood pressure, high cholesterol, obstructive sleep apnoea, cardiovascular disease, prediabetes or type 2 diabetes.1

It must be used alongside a reduced-calorie diet and increased physical activity. A prescriber will assess your BMI, medical history and current medicines before deciding whether it is suitable for you.1 This is why a consultation comes before any supply, and why we decline orders that are unsuitable.

08 · What the trial showed

What the main Mounjaro trial found

In the SURMOUNT-1 trial of 2,539 adults, people taking tirzepatide alongside diet and exercise lost on average 15% of their body weight on 5mg, 19.5% on 10mg and 20.9% on 15mg over 72 weeks. The comparison group, on lifestyle changes alone, lost 3.1%.2

At 72 weeks, 85% of participants on 5mg, 89% on 10mg and 91% on 15mg had lost at least 5% of their body weight. Half of participants on 10mg and 57% on 15mg lost at least 20%.2

These are trial averages, and individual results vary. As a worked example, for someone starting at 100 kg, 20.9% is about 21 kg. Treatment works alongside a reduced-calorie diet and increased physical activity, not instead of them.2

09 · Newer pills and older drugs

The newest weight loss pill and older drugs

The newest weight loss pills in the UK are oral GLP-1 medicines, including Wegovy tablets and Foundayo (orforglipron); each has its own prescribing information.2021 No trial has compared Mounjaro directly with either tablet, so results from separate trials should not be set against each other as if they were head to head. For current tablet prices, see our weight loss treatments page.

Some older and withdrawn drugs each have their own history. See our pages on the fen-fen weight loss drug, the Belviq weight loss drug and the Meridia weight loss drug. There is also a Moderna weight loss drug page that explains what exists and what does not.

10 · Buying online safely

Buying a weight loss drug online: what to expect

A legitimate online pharmacy will ask for a consultation, show its GPhC registration and have a prescriber review your answers before supplying.

With us, you get ongoing monthly reviews, dose-titration and follow-up assessments by the prescribing team, plus side-effect support. Repeat orders re-check suitability, and nothing is auto-shipped. Payment is by Visa/Mastercard, Klarna or pay-monthly options, with no subscriptions. Support is Monday–Friday 9am–5pm on 0333 207 0413 or support@everydaymeds.co.uk.

A first year costs £2,711.88 if you stay on 5mg after your 2.5mg starting pen, up to £3,599.88 if you step up through every dose to 15mg, at standard prices. A new customer's first order is £40 less, and every later order £25 less. If you step up after 4 weeks on each dose, your first four pens (2.5mg to 10mg) cost £959.96 at standard prices. For a price comparison, see Mounjaro lowest price in the UK or weight loss drug Mounjaro online, or go to our Buy Mounjaro hub.

Mounjaro (tirzepatide) is a prescription-only medicine, supplied only after an online consultation reviewed by a GPhC-registered prescriber. Individual results vary. This page is information, not a substitute for medical advice.

11 · Serious side effects

Serious side effects: when to get help straight away

Serious side effects are uncommon but need urgent attention. Seek immediate medical help for: severe, persistent stomach pain that may spread to your back, with or without vomiting (possible pancreatitis); pain in the upper right abdomen, fever or yellowing of skin/eyes (possible gallbladder problems); or signs of a severe allergic reaction such as swelling of the face or throat and difficulty breathing. If you take insulin or a sulfonylurea alongside Mounjaro, watch for low blood sugar (shakiness, sweating, confusion) — your prescriber may need to adjust those medicines.1

Your questions, answered

Mounjaro price UK — frequently asked questions

Answers to common questions about Mounjaro prices, NHS access and ongoing treatment.

Ask our pharmacy team
What is the pharmacy name of misoprostol?
We do not supply misoprostol. A pharmacist or the prescriber who supplied it can tell you the exact product name, and the patient information leaflet in the box names it. Misoprististrac is not a name we recognise as a licensed medicine.
What is the newest weight loss pill called?
Newer oral GLP-1 weight loss tablets include Wegovy tablets and Foundayo (orforglipron), each with its own prescribing information. Tablets and injections suit different people, so a prescriber can advise.
What weight loss medications are available at pharmacies?
UK pharmacies can supply licensed weight-management medicines on prescription after a consultation. We supply Mounjaro (tirzepatide), a once-weekly injection. Wegovy and liraglutide products such as Saxenda are also licensed options, and tablets exist too. Which one suits you depends on your BMI, medical history and current medicines.
Does misoprostol cause weight gain?
Check its patient information leaflet, and ask your prescriber or pharmacist. If you notice a new symptom on any medicine, discuss it with your prescriber and report it through the Yellow Card scheme.
How risky is misoprostol?
Its patient information leaflet and the prescriber or pharmacist who supplied it are the right sources. Do not use it for weight loss without medical advice.
What is the major side effect of misoprostol?
The patient information leaflet lists them, and a pharmacist can explain them. For any medicine, you can report a suspected side effect through the MHRA Yellow Card scheme.
Is misoprististrac the same as Mounjaro?
No. Mounjaro is the brand name for tirzepatide, a once-weekly injection licensed in the UK for weight management in adults. Misoprististrac is not a medicine name we recognise. If a seller uses it for a weight loss product, we would not rely on it.
How do I get a licensed weight loss drug in the UK?
Complete a free online consultation, and a GPhC-registered prescriber reviews it. If you are suitable, a registered pharmacy dispenses your treatment and delivers it free next day. Mounjaro is licensed for adults with a BMI of 30 or above, or 27 to 30 with a weight-related condition.
