A quick overview
What to know
before you start.
-
MariTide is an investigational Amgen medicine, so no UK pharmacy can legally supply it and any listed price is not genuine.
-
Anyone offering MariTide for sale is offering something unlicensed or fake. Only buy from a pharmacy you can verify on the GPhC register.
-
Licensed Mounjaro (tirzepatide) is £169.99 per month at the 2.5mg starting dose, with your first 2.5mg pen £129.99 using code FIRST40.
-
A first year of Mounjaro costs £2,711.88 if you stay on 5mg after your 2.5mg starting pen, up to £3,599.88 if you step up through every dose to 15mg, before discounts.
-
You do not have to wait for new drugs: licensed injections and tablets are available now after a free consultation.

01 · The short answer
How much does MariTide cost in the UK?
MariTide does not have a UK price, because it is still an investigational medicine from Amgen and has no UK licence. A price only exists once a regulator licenses a medicine and a manufacturer sets a list price. Neither has happened here.
If a website, social media account or salon quotes you a MariTide price, it is not selling an approved product. The MHRA has seized thousands of fake weight-loss pens in the UK and has issued alerts after falsified Mounjaro pens were identified. Fake pens have caused hospitalisations, and some contained insulin rather than the stated medicine.7
02 · What you can buy now
What licensed weight loss treatment costs today
If you want an injection with a similar ambition, tirzepatide is licensed in the UK and available now. Mounjaro is the brand name for tirzepatide, a once-weekly injection made by Eli Lilly, licensed for weight management in adults.1 It activates two gut-hormone receptors at once, GIP and GLP-1, which together help regulate appetite and slow how quickly the stomach empties.1
The Mounjaro pen costs £169.99 per month at 2.5mg, the dose everyone starts on. Standard prices for the other doses are £218.99 at 5mg, £279.99 at 7.5mg, £290.99 at 10mg, £319.99 at 12.5mg and £329.99 at 15mg. All six doses are in stock.
New customers save £40 on their first order at any dose with code FIRST40, including people switching to us from another provider at a higher dose. An automatic £25 reorder discount then applies to every future order (code DOSE25). Your first 2.5mg pen therefore costs £129.99, and someone switching to us at 15mg pays £289.99 for their first order.
| Planning period | Standard cost (before discounts) |
|---|---|
| First year (13 pens), settling at 5mg | £2,711.88 |
| First year (13 pens), stepping up through every dose to 15mg | £3,599.88 |
These totals are before discounts. A new customer's first order is £40 less, and every later order is £25 less. For a maintenance dose between those two, use that dose's monthly price rather than a year figure.
For context, across the UK pharmacies we track, the cheapest and dearest Mounjaro pens at any dose are £143.96 and £339.00 per month (checked 11 October 2026). Starting 2.5mg pens range from £143.96 to £179.99. For the same dose, the gap between providers runs from £27 to £41. 03 · Getting started
How ordering licensed treatment works
Ordering takes four steps, and the consultation is free with no obligation.
- Free online consultation: a short health questionnaire, no charge.
- Prescriber review: reviewed by a GPhC-registered prescriber. Payment is taken when you place the order; if the prescriber decides the treatment is not suitable, the order is refunded automatically in full.
- Dispensing and dispatch: dispensed by our registered pharmacy, with same-day dispatch when ordered by 3pm.
- Delivery: free next-day tracked delivery in temperature-controlled packaging. Saturday delivery is £14.99.
You can start your free consultation here. We supply Mounjaro direct from Eli Lilly's UK distribution through official LillyDirect supply, and ongoing monthly reviews are included.
04 · Why there is no price
Why MariTide cannot be priced or bought
A medicine can only be sold in the UK once it is licensed. MariTide is an Amgen candidate still in development, so there is no UK licence, no list price and no legitimate supply route.
You may see headlines about early results and share-price moves. Those are written for investors and describe a company's prospects, not something you can order. Early-stage results also do not tell you how a medicine will perform once licensed, what it will cost, or when it might arrive.
When a medicine is licensed in the UK and we can supply it, you will see it on our weight loss treatments page with live prices.
For older, withdrawn medicines, see fen-fen, Belviq and Meridia.05 · Spotting fake offers
Spotting fake MariTide offers
Any offer of MariTide today is a red flag, because no regulated source exists. The MHRA has seized thousands of fake weight-loss pens in the UK, and fake pens have caused hospitalisations.7
Only buy from a pharmacy you can verify on the GPhC register, never from social media, beauty salons or unverified websites. Genuine treatment always involves a prescription and a clinical consultation.7 A seller offering to supply without a consultation or prescription is not operating legitimately.
For licensed Mounjaro, a genuine pen comes from a registered pharmacy with a batch number and expiry date, arrives cold-chain packaged, and the solution inside is clear and colourless.13 Do not use a pen that has been frozen, looks cloudy or discoloured, has particles in it or is past its expiry. If anything seems wrong, check the pharmacy on the register and contact it before injecting.
06 · Who qualifies for Mounjaro
Who can use licensed tirzepatide
Mounjaro is licensed for weight management in adults with a BMI of 30 or above, or a BMI between 27 and 30 with at least one weight-related condition. Examples are high blood pressure, high cholesterol, obstructive sleep apnoea, cardiovascular disease, prediabetes or type 2 diabetes.1 It must be used alongside a reduced-calorie diet and increased physical activity. A prescriber assesses your BMI, medical history and current medicines before deciding whether it is suitable.
It is also available on the NHS, but access is being phased in over several years. NICE recommends it for adults with a BMI of at least 35 plus at least one weight-related condition, and the NHS primary-care rollout began in June 2025 with the highest-need groups first, initially BMI 40+ with four or more qualifying conditions.46 Full rollout is expected to take years, which is why many people who meet the licensed criteria choose regulated private treatment rather than waiting. An NHS prescription charge, where one applies in England, is £9.90 per item.
07 · What results look like
What licensed tirzepatide trials show
In the SURMOUNT-1 trial of 2,539 adults, people taking tirzepatide alongside diet and exercise lost on average 15% of their body weight on 5mg, 19.5% on 10mg and 20.9% on 15mg over 72 weeks, compared with 3.1% with lifestyle changes alone.2 These are trial averages and individual results vary. For someone starting at 100 kg, 20.9% is about 21 kg.
At 72 weeks, 85% of participants on 5mg, 89% on 10mg and 91% on 15mg had lost at least 5% of their body weight. Half of participants on 10mg and 57% on 15mg lost at least 20%.2
Weight loss on Mounjaro is gradual by design. The first weeks on 2.5mg are an adjustment phase and losses are usually modest. Most measurable progress builds from 5mg onward, month by month. Think in months, not days. If you have lost less than 5% of your starting weight after 6 months on the highest dose you can tolerate, your prescriber will discuss whether continuing or stopping is right for you.1
Our comparison of MariTide vs Mounjaro explains why an investigational drug and a licensed one cannot be compared like for like.
08 · Dosing and pens
How Mounjaro dosing works
Everyone starts Mounjaro on 2.5mg once a week. This starting dose is about letting your body adjust, not about weight loss itself. After at least 4 weeks the dose increases to 5mg, then can step up by 2.5mg at minimum 4-week intervals to a maximum of 15mg weekly, depending on response and tolerability.1 Many people settle at 5mg, 10mg or 15mg. Higher is not automatically better.
Each KwikPen contains four weekly doses and is injected under the skin on the same day each week.
Storage matters too: keep pens in a fridge at 2–8°C, never freeze them, and once in use a pen can be kept out of the fridge at a temperature not above 30°C for up to 30 days after first use, and must then be thrown away.1309 · Price changes
Why Mounjaro prices moved
Eli Lilly raised the UK list price of Mounjaro in September 2025, and pharmacy sell prices vary because of confidential discounts.
For the background, see our guides on weight loss drug price changes and Mounjaro price reductions, and how the Mounjaro discount code works. Payment can be by Visa/Mastercard or Klarna, with pay-monthly options and no subscription lock-in.
