What to do when the pen won't dial
Stop and start your next pen. The KwikPen is set by turning the dose knob until the indicator shows the correct dose in the window.
Do not try to open the pen, draw liquid out with a syringe, or top up a short dose from a second pen.

Each pen contains four weekly doses at its labelled strength.

Splitting or sharing doses
Altering doses outside the licence means unknown dosing accuracy and no safety data.1
Two 2.5mg pens are not a substitute for one 5mg pen. Doses step up by 2.5mg at minimum 4-week intervals, guided by your prescriber.1
04 · Storage and use window
How long a pen lasts
Keep pens in a fridge at 2–8°C and never freeze them. Once in use, a pen can be kept out of the fridge at a temperature not above 30°C for up to 30 days after first use, and must then be thrown away. Keep the cap on to protect it from light.1 Four weekly doses fit comfortably inside that window.
Do not use a pen that has been above 30°C or has been frozen. For an unopened pen that has been out of the fridge, check with the pharmacy rather than relying on a day limit you saw online.13
05 · Missed doses
If a dose is late
If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you can within 4 days (96 hours) of the scheduled time. After more than 4 days, skip it and take the next on your usual day. Never take two doses within 3 days of each other.1 You can also change your injection day if at least 3 days have passed since your last dose.
