01 · The short answer

How much is Mounjaro monthly?

The monthly cost of Mounjaro is the price of one pen at your current strength. At EverydayMeds the Mounjaro pen costs £169.99 at 2.5mg, £218.99 at 5mg, £279.99 at 7.5mg, £290.99 at 10mg, £319.99 at 12.5mg and £329.99 at 15mg. These are standard prices for one pen, which covers four weeks of once-weekly injections, and they are what a repeat order costs before the reorder discount. All doses are in stock.

The same figures in weekly terms are £42.50 at 2.5mg, £54.75 at 5mg, £70.00 at 7.5mg, £72.75 at 10mg, £80.00 at 12.5mg and £82.50 at 15mg. Thinking weekly can help if you are comparing against a coffee habit or a food shop, but you still pay per pen.

Your first 2.5mg pen costs £129.99 as a first-order price with code FIRST40 (the standard price is £169.99). If you are switching to us from another provider at a higher dose, the first-order price at 15mg is £289.99. Those two figures are first-order prices only, so do not read them as the ongoing monthly cost.

02 · Why it changes

The dose ladder is your real monthly cost

Your monthly cost changes as you move up the dose ladder, so the starting price tells you little about the long-term bill. Treatment begins at 2.5mg and steps up after at least four weeks only if your prescriber judges it appropriate. Many people settle at a middle strength rather than the maximum, and some stay on a lower dose that works for them.

StageTypical pensMonthly cost (standard price)
Starting weeks2.5mg£169.99
First step up5mg£218.99
Middle strengths7.5mg, 10mg£279.99 and £290.99
Higher strengths12.5mg, 15mg£319.99 and £329.99

The first four pens, taking the 2.5mg, 5mg, 7.5mg and 10mg pens in turn, come to £959.96 at standard prices. A new customer's first order is £40 less, and every later order is £25 less.

03 · Planning ahead

Putting it together: a realistic first-year budget

A first year costs £2,711.88 if you settle at 5mg, up to £3,599.88 at 15mg, at standard prices before any discount. Those two figures are the bookends. If you settle at 7.5mg, 10mg or 12.5mg, your monthly cost is £279.99, £290.99 or £319.99 respectively, and your year lands somewhere between the bookends.

Because every repeat order carries the reorder discount, your true ongoing cost is each pen's price minus £25. New customers save £40 on their first order with code FIRST40, and an automatic £25 reorder discount applies to every future order (code DOSE25).

04 · Monthly payment options

Mounjaro monthly payments and plans

You can pay for Mounjaro monthly by card, or split the cost with Klarna and pay-monthly options. There are no subscriptions, so each pen is a separate order that you choose to place. Repeat orders re-check your suitability, and nothing is shipped automatically.

That matters if you are looking for a monthly Mounjaro plan. A plan with automatic billing can feel convenient, but it removes the pause that lets you and your prescriber review how treatment is going. With us you reorder when you are ready, and the ongoing monthly reviews, dose titration and follow-up assessments by the prescribing team are included.

For more on how paying monthly works, see our guide to paying monthly for Mounjaro in the UK and our breakdown of monthly subscription costs. The consultation is free, and the price shown is the price paid, with no hidden fees.

05 · How the UK market compares

How our price compares with the UK market

Across the UK pharmacies we track, the cheapest and dearest Mounjaro pens at any dose sit between £143.96 and £339.00. For the 2.5mg starting pen alone, prices run from £143.96 to £179.99. Those figures come from our own price index, checked 10 October 2026.

Providers also differ from each other on the same dose. The gap between pharmacies for the same strength ranges from £27 to £41, so comparing like for like matters. Always compare the same strength, and check what is included in the price shown.

Pharmacy sell prices vary because of confidential discounts. To see how that played out, read how much Mounjaro monthly costs are going up, or the wider guide to how much Mounjaro costs in the UK.

06 · Boots and high-street prices

What Mounjaro costs at Boots

Across Boots' Mounjaro doses, our index shows prices from £179.00 to £339.00 per month, depending on strength. That is Boots' lowest and highest dose price as checked 10 October 2026, so your own figure depends on which pen you need.

If you want a specific pharmacy's figure, ask them directly or check their site, and compare the same strength each time. A high-street price also needs the same clinical assessment first, because Mounjaro is a prescription-only medicine wherever you buy it.

Do not be tempted by sellers offering to supply without a consultation or prescription. Counterfeit pens are a real risk, and the MHRA publishes alerts and runs the Yellow Card scheme.7 Our Mounjaro is supplied through official LillyDirect supply, direct from Eli Lilly's UK distribution, and every pen is a genuine KwikPen.

07 · What to check before deciding

What to check before you decide

Before comparing monthly prices, check what the price includes and whether it is for the strength you will actually use. Mounjaro comes as a pre-filled multi-dose pen (KwikPen) in six strengths: 2.5mg, 5mg, 7.5mg, 10mg, 12.5mg and 15mg.1 A low advertised price is usually the starting strength, which most people will move beyond.

Ask these questions of any provider:

  • Is the price for the dose I will be on in a few months, not only the first pen?
  • Is there a consultation fee, or is the consultation free?
  • Is delivery included, and is it temperature-controlled?
  • Is the medicine sourced from the manufacturer's official supply?
  • Will a prescriber review me as I step up, and is that included?
  • Do I have to sign up to a subscription or auto-shipping?

With us, the consultation is free, delivery is free next-day tracked in temperature-controlled packaging, and same-day dispatch applies when you order by 3pm. Saturday delivery is £14.99. Needles, a sharps bin and injection guidance come with every order. Once in use, a pen can be kept out of the fridge at a temperature not above 30°C for up to 30 days after first use, and must then be thrown away; unopened pens belong in the fridge at 2–8°C.13

08 · Cheapest way to get Mounjaro

The cheapest way to get Mounjaro

The NHS is an option if you qualify, and a regulated private provider is another route if you do not or cannot wait. Mounjaro is available on the NHS, but access is being phased in over several years. NICE recommends it for adults with a BMI of at least 35 plus at least one weight-related condition, and the NHS primary-care rollout began in June 2025 with the highest-need groups first (initially BMI 40+ with four or more qualifying conditions).46 Full rollout is expected to take years, which is why many people who meet the licensed criteria choose regulated private treatment rather than waiting. An NHS prescription in England carries the standard charge of £9.90 per item, where applicable.

If you go private, compare the same strength across providers, use the new-customer discount on your first order, and remember the reorder discount on every later one. Our guide to the cheapest monthly Mounjaro goes into this in more detail.

Be wary of anything that looks cheap because it skips the safeguards. Low-cost supplements marketed as natural alternatives carry no clinical oversight and are not equivalent to the licensed medicine. A genuine pen from a registered pharmacy after a prescriber review is the safe baseline.

09 · Is it monthly or weekly?

Is Mounjaro a monthly or weekly injection?

Mounjaro is a once-weekly injection, but it is supplied and paid for monthly because each pen holds four weekly doses. Mounjaro is the brand name for tirzepatide, a once-weekly injectable prescription medicine made by Eli Lilly.1

That is why the cost works the way it does: you buy a pen roughly every four weeks, and you inject once a week from it. Our explainers on whether Mounjaro is monthly or weekly and whether it is a monthly injection cover the dosing rhythm, and what a monthly dose costs sets out the price side.

10 · What your money buys

What your monthly spend can realistically deliver

Weight loss on Mounjaro is gradual by design, so judge value over months, not weeks. In the SURMOUNT-1 trial of 2,539 adults, people taking tirzepatide alongside diet and exercise lost on average 15% of their body weight on 5mg, 19.5% on 10mg and 20.9% on 15mg over 72 weeks, compared with 3.1% with lifestyle changes alone. Those are trial averages, and individual results vary.2

The early weeks on 2.5mg are an adjustment phase and losses are usually modest. Most measurable progress builds from 5mg onward, month by month. Three months in, most people are still on the lower rungs of the dose ladder, so a sensible expectation is mid single digits as a percentage of body weight, with wide individual variation. Slower early progress does not predict failure, because the dose you respond to may still be ahead of you.

Losing several stone in a few months is well beyond what the trial averages describe, so it should not be your benchmark. Your prescriber reviews your response: if you have lost less than 5% of your starting weight after 6 months on the highest dose you can tolerate, they will discuss whether continuing or stopping is right for you.

Plateaus of a few weeks are normal as the body adapts. A plateau is not a reason to double doses or add unlicensed products. Review food intake honestly, protect protein and activity, check sleep and alcohol, and ask your prescriber whether a step-up is appropriate.

How ordering works

Ordering takes a short online process: payment is taken when you place the order, and if the prescriber decides the treatment is not suitable, the order is refunded automatically in full. It follows these steps:

  • Complete the free online consultation, a short health questionnaire with no charge and no obligation.
  • A GPhC-registered prescriber reviews your answers. Unsuitable orders are refunded automatically.
  • Our registered pharmacy dispenses your pen and dispatches it the same day when ordered by 3pm, with free next-day tracked delivery.

Ongoing monthly reviews, dose titration and follow-up assessments by the prescribing team are included, along with side-effect support. Our support team is available Monday–Friday 9am–5pm by email at support@everydaymeds.co.uk, through the account portal chat, or by phone on 0333 207 0413. The free GLPTrackr app helps you log doses and progress.

Start with our weight loss clinic, or go straight to the Mounjaro pen prices and consultation. Mounjaro (tirzepatide) is a prescription-only medicine, supplied only after an online consultation reviewed by a GPhC-registered prescriber, and used alongside a reduced-calorie diet and increased physical activity. Individual results vary. This page is information, not a substitute for medical advice.

Your questions, answered

Mounjaro price UK — frequently asked questions

Answers to common questions about Mounjaro prices, NHS access and ongoing treatment.

Ask our pharmacy team
How much is Mounjaro monthly in the UK?
Mounjaro is priced per monthly pen by strength. At EverydayMeds a pen costs £169.99 at 2.5mg, rising to £329.99 at 15mg, at standard prices checked 10 October 2026. Across the UK pharmacies we track, pens range from £143.96 to £339.00. Your own monthly cost depends on the dose your prescriber settles you on.
How much is a supply of Mounjaro for the first few months?
The first four pens, using the 2.5mg, 5mg, 7.5mg and 10mg pens, cost £959.96 at standard prices. A new customer's first order is £40 less, and every later order is £25 less. Doses only step up if your prescriber judges it appropriate, so your own total may differ.
How much is Mounjaro at Boots?
Across Boots' Mounjaro doses, our price index shows prices from £179.00 to £339.00 per month, depending on strength, as checked 10 October 2026. Compare the same strength when weighing providers. A prescriber assessment is needed wherever you buy, because Mounjaro is a prescription-only medicine.
What is the cheapest way to get Mounjaro?
If you qualify, the NHS is an option, though access is being phased in over several years. Privately, compare the same strength across regulated providers and use the new-customer and reorder discounts. Avoid anyone offering to supply without a consultation or prescription, as counterfeit pens are a real risk.
Is it normal to lose three stone in three months on Mounjaro?
No, that is well beyond what trial averages describe. A sensible expectation at three months on a standard titration is mid single digits as a percentage of body weight, with wide individual variation. Most people are still on the lower doses then, and full trial averages were measured at 72 weeks, not three months.
How quickly does Mounjaro work?
Mounjaro works gradually. Some people notice reduced appetite in the first week, while others feel little until a higher dose, and both are normal. The 2.5mg weeks are an adjustment phase, and most measurable progress builds from 5mg onward, month by month. Judge progress by trend, not single weigh-ins.
What is a cheaper alternative to Mounjaro in the UK?
Low-cost supplements are cheap but carry no clinical oversight and are not equivalent to a licensed medicine. Licensed alternatives such as Wegovy are priced differently, and your prescriber can advise which suits you. The first-order price of a Wegovy starting pen is £99.99, so compare like for like.
Do I have to pay monthly for Mounjaro, or is there a subscription?
There is no subscription. You can pay by Visa, Mastercard, Klarna or pay-monthly options, and each pen is a separate order. Repeat orders re-check your suitability and nothing is shipped automatically, so you stay in control of when to continue.
