Holistic GLP-1 Thrive: What myGLP Is and Whether It Works (October 2026)

Thrive myGLP, sold by Le-Vel, is a dietary supplement line, not a GLP-1 medicine. It does not contain tirzepatide or semaglutide and is not prescribed, so it cannot be expected to act like Mounjaro or Wegovy. Licensed treatment is assessed by a prescriber, as covered in our weight loss clinic guide.

A quick overview

What to know
before you start.

  • Thrive myGLP is a Le-Vel wellness and supplement range, sold with the language of GLP-1 but containing no GLP-1 medicine.
  • Reviews of supplements are personal experiences, not evidence, and they cannot tell you how safe a product is for you.
  • If you want licensed treatment, a GPhC-registered prescriber reviews your health history before anything is supplied.
  • Supplements are low-cost and need no assessment, which is why checking ingredients against your medicines with a pharmacist matters.
In this guide

01 · The short answer

What is Thrive myGLP, and is it a real GLP-1 treatment?

Thrive myGLP is a wellness and supplement range from Le-Vel, marketed as a way to support the body's own GLP-1 hormone naturally, without prescriptions or injections. It is sold as a multi-step routine that combines capsules, a powdered lifestyle mix and a dissolvable strip. Marketing mentions ingredients such as protein, fibre, HMB, berberine and probiotics.

That is a very different category from a GLP-1 medicine. Mounjaro is the brand name for tirzepatide, a once-weekly injectable prescription medicine made by Eli Lilly, licensed in the UK for weight management in adults.1 A supplement does not go through that licensing process, and the word "GLP-1" on a pack describes marketing intent rather than a licensed drug.

If you already take Thrive products and feel they help you eat more regularly or keep to a routine, that is a reasonable personal choice. The problem starts when a supplement is treated as a stand-in for treatment that has been tested in a large trial.

02 · Reviews and evidence

Does Thrive really work? How to read the reviews

Online reviews are not proof that Thrive myGLP works, either way. Reviews describe how individuals felt, usually without knowing their diet, activity, other medicines or what they would have lost anyway. They are not controlled evidence.

Compare that with the SURMOUNT-1 trial of tirzepatide. In it, people taking tirzepatide alongside diet and exercise lost on average 15% of their body weight on 5mg, 19.5% on 10mg and 20.9% on 15mg over 72 weeks, compared with 3.1% with lifestyle changes alone. These are trial averages and individual results vary.2

A good test for any review is whether it names a start point, a timescale, what else changed and whether the person kept the result afterwards. Most do not. Treat glowing reviews and angry ones with equal caution.

03 · What to do next

Is this relevant to you? Choosing your next step

If you are looking at Thrive because you want help with weight, the real question is whether you want a lifestyle-support product or a licensed treatment. They are not interchangeable, and one does not need to be a failure of the other.

If you meet the criteria and want regulated treatment, a prescriber reviews your suitability first. For example, the Mounjaro pen starts at the 2.5mg strength: your first 2.5mg pen costs £129.99 with code FIRST40 (standard price £169.99), prices checked 11 October 2026. Our consultation is free and reviewed by a GPhC-registered prescriber, and unsuitable orders are refunded automatically.

04 · Natural GLP-1 claims

What is a natural GLP-1 supplement?

A "natural GLP-1 supplement" is a marketing phrase for an over-the-counter product said to encourage the body's own GLP-1 signalling. It is not a medical category. There is no licensed product with that description, and the phrase does not tell you what is inside or how it behaves in the body.

GLP-1 itself is a natural gut hormone, and licensed medicines act on its receptor. Tirzepatide is the first treatment of its kind to activate two natural gut-hormone receptors at once: GIP and GLP-1. Together these help regulate appetite, slow how quickly the stomach empties, and improve the way the body responds to insulin.1 That is a defined, tested pharmacological action from a measured dose.

Supplements are different in a basic way. Dosing is not standardised across products, and the amount of any active ingredient reaching your bloodstream is not comparable to a prescription pen. That is why a supplement should not be described as a "natural" version of Ozempic or Mounjaro. Nature's Ozempic, the poor man's Ozempic and similar nicknames are social media labels, and they are not an established effect of any ingredient.

Natural does not mean harmless either. Mention any supplement you take to your pharmacist or prescriber.

05 · Le-Vel and Thrive

What is Le-Vel, and how is Thrive sold?

Le-Vel is the company behind the Thrive brand of wellness products. Thrive is sold largely through a network of independent promoters rather than through a pharmacy, and the myGLP range is the part of the catalogue that borrows GLP-1 language.

That sales model matters when you read reviews. People who promote a product often have a financial interest in describing it positively, and enthusiastic posts are not always labelled as promotion. This is not a criticism of any individual. It is a reason to separate a product's marketing from independent evidence.

A pharmacy supplying a prescription medicine works differently. Our registration is GPhC 9012878, and you can check it on the GPhC public register. Payment is taken when you place the order; if the prescriber decides the treatment is not suitable, the order is refunded automatically in full.

Questions to ask about any wellness brand

  • Does it name an independent trial of the finished product, rather than of one ingredient?
  • Does it state who should not use it?
  • Does it tell you to speak to a clinician if you take other medicines?
  • Does it promise dramatic weight-loss claims? If so, be sceptical.

06 · Supplement vs prescription

How a supplement routine compares with prescription treatment

The table sets out the practical differences between a holistic supplement routine and a licensed GLP-1 medicine. It is a comparison of categories, not a ranking of products.

FactorSupplement routine (e.g. myGLP)Mounjaro (tirzepatide)
Legal statusDietary supplement, sold without assessmentPrescription-only medicine
Who reviews youNo clinical reviewGPhC-registered prescriber
MechanismNot an established GLP-1 receptor actionActivates GIP and GLP-1 receptors

DosingDosing is not standardised2.5mg to 15mg, stepped up over time
CostLow-cost supplement, no clinical oversightSee current pen prices on the product page
Follow-upNone built inMonthly reviews and side-effect support

Mounjaro is used alongside a reduced-calorie diet and increased physical activity, and results vary between people.2 A supplement routine should be framed the same way: it supports habits, and it does not replace them.

Note that Wegovy, the semaglutide brand, is also a licensed option. You can read about the Wegovy pen if you want to understand that route as well.

07 · Safety and side effects

Safety, side effects and reporting a problem

Any product that affects appetite or blood sugar should be checked against your health history before you start. With a supplement, nobody does that check for you, which is the main safety gap compared with prescribing.

If you take medicines for diabetes, blood pressure, or anything else regular, speak to a pharmacist before adding a supplement. Do not combine several appetite or blood-sugar products at once, because their effects can add up in ways nobody has tested together.

If you feel unwell on any product, stop and seek advice. For severe, persistent stomach pain that may spread to your back, with or without vomiting (possible pancreatitis); pain in the upper right abdomen, fever or yellowing of the skin or eyes (possible gallbladder problems); or signs of a severe allergic reaction such as swelling of the face or throat and difficulty breathing, get medical help straight away. You can report suspected side effects from medicines, and concerns about supplements too, through the MHRA Yellow Card scheme.19

Be cautious about counterfeit or unregulated weight-loss products sold online. The MHRA publishes counterfeit medicine alerts, and any seller offering to supply a prescription medicine without a consultation or prescription should be avoided.7

08 · Related supplement pages

Many names circulate alongside Thrive, and they follow the same pattern: supplement-style products using GLP-1 language. We have separate guides on Thrive and GLP-1 claims, holistic GLP-1 products, GLP-1 sachets, Zen, Gala, Crewel and Veracity.

The same questions apply to each of them. Is it a medicine or a supplement? Who is accountable for its quality? What does the label say about who should not take it? And is there independent evidence for the finished product, as opposed to a single ingredient?

A brand name containing "GLP-1" does not make a product a GLP-1 medicine. Check whether it is a licensed medicine with a prescriber, or a supplement sold freely.

09 · NHS and private routes

NHS and private routes to licensed treatment

Mounjaro is available on the NHS, but access is being phased in over several years. NICE recommends it for adults with a BMI of at least 35 plus at least one weight-related condition, and the NHS primary-care rollout began in June 2025 with the highest-need groups first (initially BMI 40+ with four or more qualifying conditions).46

Full rollout is expected to take years, which is why many people who meet the licensed criteria choose regulated private treatment rather than waiting. If you do not yet qualify on the NHS, speak to your GP about what support is available.

Private treatment through us means a free online consultation, review by a GPhC-registered prescriber, genuine KwikPens supplied through official LillyDirect supply, and free next-day tracked delivery in temperature-controlled packaging. Ongoing monthly reviews are included, and there is no subscription lock-in.

Your questions, answered

Mounjaro price UK — frequently asked questions

Answers to common questions about Mounjaro prices, NHS access and ongoing treatment.

Ask our pharmacy team
Does Thrive really work?
Reviews describe personal experience, not controlled evidence. Prescription tirzepatide has trial data from SURMOUNT-1, where individual results vary. If you want proven treatment, ask a prescriber about licensed options.
What is a natural GLP-1 supplement?
It is a marketing term for an over-the-counter product said to support the body's own GLP-1 hormone. It is not a licensed medicine and not a recognised medical category. Dosing is not standardised, and the effect cannot be compared with a prescription GLP-1 medicine, which is given at a defined strength after a prescriber's review.
What is Le-Vel?
Le-Vel is the company that makes and sells the Thrive range of wellness and supplement products, including the myGLP line. Thrive is sold mainly through independent promoters rather than through pharmacies. It is not a pharmacy, and its products are supplements rather than prescription medicines, so no prescriber reviews your suitability before you buy.
Is semaglutide GLP-1 the same as Ozempic?
Semaglutide is the active ingredient in both Ozempic and Wegovy, and it acts on the GLP-1 receptor. They are different brands: Ozempic is licensed for type 2 diabetes only and is not a UK weight-loss medicine, while Wegovy is licensed for weight management. Mounjaro is different again: tirzepatide activates both GIP and GLP-1 receptors. A prescriber can explain which suits you.
Who cannot take GLP-1 medicines?
You should not take Mounjaro if you are allergic to tirzepatide or any of its ingredients, and it should not be used during pregnancy or while trying to conceive. Your prescriber will take extra care, or may recommend against treatment, if you have a history of pancreatitis, severe gut or digestive disease, diabetic retinopathy, or gallbladder problems. Always share your full medical history and medicine list during consultation. Mounjaro should be stopped at least one month before trying to conceive. Payment is taken when you place the order; if the prescriber decides the treatment is not suitable, the order is refunded automatically in full.
What is known as the "poor man's Ozempic"?
The nickname is usually applied to berberine and similar low-cost supplements on social media. It is a label, not a clinical comparison. Such products are available cheaply without assessment, dosing is not standardised, and they are not an established substitute for semaglutide or tirzepatide. Speak to a pharmacist before taking one alongside other medicines.
How can I mimic Ozempic naturally?
You cannot replicate a prescription GLP-1 medicine with food or supplements. What you can do is build habits that support weight management: regular meals, enough protein and fibre, and increased physical activity. Licensed treatment is also used alongside a reduced-calorie diet and activity, so these habits matter either way.
What is the absolute best weight loss pill?
No single pill is best for everyone. The right option depends on your health, medicines and goals, and should come from a prescriber's review. Dramatic weight-loss claims on supplements are a warning sign. Our free consultation can help you see which licensed treatments might suit you.
