What does a year of treatment cost?
If you step up after 4 weeks on each dose, your first four pens (2.5mg to 10mg) cost £959.96 at standard prices. A first year of 13 pens costs £2,711.88 if you settle at 5mg, up to £3,599.88 at 15mg. A new customer's first order is £40 less and every later order £25 less.

03 · NHS vs private
NHS or private: what is the difference?
Mounjaro is available on the NHS, but access is being phased in over several years. NICE recommends it for adults with a BMI of at least 35 plus at least one weight-related condition, and the primary-care rollout began in June 2025 with the highest-need groups first (initially BMI 40+ with four or more qualifying conditions).46 Many people who meet the licensed criteria choose regulated private treatment rather than wait.

Why Mounjaro prices rose
Eli Lilly announced a UK list-price increase for Mounjaro on 14 August 2025, effective 1 September 2025. Pharmacy sell prices vary because of confidential discounts, which is why providers differ.
05 · Saving safely
Ways to save without risk
Be wary of unusually cheap offers. The MHRA has seized thousands of fake weight-loss pens, and some fakes contained insulin rather than tirzepatide. Only buy from a pharmacy you can verify on the GPhC register.7 See also lowest cost weight loss injections.
06 · Who it is for
Who can be prescribed Mounjaro?
Mounjaro is licensed for weight management in adults with a BMI of 30 or above, or between 27 and 30 with at least one weight-related condition such as high blood pressure, high cholesterol, obstructive sleep apnoea, cardiovascular disease, prediabetes or type 2 diabetes. It is used alongside a reduced-calorie diet and increased physical activity.1
In SURMOUNT-1 (2,539 adults), average weight loss over 72 weeks was 15% on 5mg, 19.5% on 10mg and 20.9% on 15mg, versus 3.1% with lifestyle changes alone. Individual results vary.2 Learn more about getting a Mounjaro prescription.
