01 · The core answer
Can you take GHK-Cu and tirzepatide together?
Mounjaro (tirzepatide) is a once-weekly injectable prescription medicine made by Eli Lilly, licensed in the UK for weight management in adults and for type 2 diabetes.1 GHK-Cu is a different kind of product with no place in that licence.
Some pages, and some AI summaries, answer "yes, just inject them separately". That is a confident statement without a clinical source behind it. Keeping two products in separate syringes is a handling point, not evidence that the combination has been tested together in people.
Mounjaro must not be combined with other GLP-1 medicines, unlicensed "research" peptides, or compounded copies. These combinations have no safety data and no regulated supply chain. If something promises faster results outside a licensed pathway, that is the warning sign.1
02 · Your next step
What should you actually do?
Decide first whether you want a licensed treatment or an experiment. If your goal is weight management, the evidence sits with the licensed medicine used as directed, alongside a reduced-calorie diet and more physical activity.
If you are already using GHK-Cu, do not hide it from your prescriber. A clinician can only judge your risks if they know everything you inject, apply or swallow. If you are not yet a patient, you can start with a free consultation for the Mounjaro pen. Our weight loss clinic pages explain the full pathway.

03 · What Mounjaro is
What tirzepatide actually does
Mounjaro is the brand name for tirzepatide, a once-weekly injectable prescription medicine made by Eli Lilly. It comes as a pre-filled multi-dose pen (KwikPen) in strengths from 2.5mg to 15mg.1
Tirzepatide is the first treatment of its kind to activate two natural gut-hormone receptors at once: GIP and GLP-1. Together these help regulate appetite, slow how quickly the stomach empties, and improve the way the body responds to insulin. In practice, most people feel fuller sooner and less hungry between meals, which supports a reduced-calorie diet.1
That is the mechanism the licence rests on.
04 · Why stacking guides mislead
Why "stacking guides" are not evidence
A stacking guide is an opinion, not a trial. It usually argues that two products work through separate pathways, so they cannot interfere. That reasoning sounds neat but is not a safety test.
Tirzepatide slows how quickly the stomach empties, and that can change how other things you take behave. For oral contraceptives, absorption can be reduced. The SmPC advises switching to a non-oral method, or adding a barrier method (such as condoms), for 4 weeks after starting Mounjaro and for 4 weeks after each dose increase.1 For a peptide product that has never been studied alongside tirzepatide, nobody can responsibly say what the interaction is.
Compounded or "research" products also raise a supply question. Without a regulated chain, you cannot be sure what is in the vial, how it was stored, or whether it is sterile. These combinations have no safety data and no regulated supply chain.1
The same caution applies to other add-ons. We have written about similar questions for BPC-157 with Mounjaro, NAD+ alongside tirzepatide and sermorelin and tirzepatide, and the answer follows the same logic each time.
05 · Rapid weight loss worries
If your worry is how your body looks during weight loss
That concern is understandable, and it deserves a practical answer rather than an unlicensed peptide.
In the SURMOUNT-1 trial of 2,539 adults, people taking tirzepatide alongside diet and exercise lost on average 15% of their body weight on 5mg, 19.5% on 10mg and 20.9% on 15mg over 72 weeks, compared with 3.1% with lifestyle changes alone. These are trial averages, individual results vary, and treatment works alongside a reduced-calorie diet and increased physical activity, not instead of them.2
Because meaningful weight loss is possible, it is sensible to plan for it. Talk to your prescriber about the pace of your dose increases, your eating pattern and your activity.
Our ongoing monthly reviews exist for exactly this kind of conversation, including dose-titration and side-effect support from the prescribing team.
06 · Supplements and other products
Other products people add to Mounjaro
GHK-Cu is rarely the only add-on. The principle is the same: disclose everything, and do not assume that because something is sold online it has been studied with tirzepatide.
Some products are licensed medicines with their own interaction advice. For example, we have separate pages on Mounjaro and metformin, Mounjaro and glipizide and Mounjaro and Farxiga. Those are prescribed medicines, which is a very different situation from a research peptide.
If you take insulin or a sulfonylurea for diabetes, doses may need adjusting because of the risk of low blood sugar. Do not change anything yourself; your diabetes team should guide it.
Unlicensed hormone or peptide products are a separate matter. See our page on Mounjaro and testosterone and the one on tesamorelin and tirzepatide for how we frame them.
07 · Safety and reporting
Spotting problems and reporting them
If you use tirzepatide and anything else, and a new symptom appears, do not assume it is normal. Speak to your prescriber about it, and use the patient information leaflet that comes with your pen for the listed side effects.13
You can report a suspected side effect, including one from a product alongside Mounjaro, through the MHRA Yellow Card scheme.19 Reports help regulators spot patterns that individual users cannot see.
Keep a simple record of what you inject and when. Our free GLPTrackr companion app is designed for tracking a GLP-1 journey, and a clear record makes any conversation with a prescriber quicker and more useful.
Finally, stopping Mounjaro does not clear it straight away. Tirzepatide has a half-life of about five days, so after a final dose it takes roughly 4–5 weeks to clear the system. There is no way to speed this up, and nothing needs doing while it clears.1
08 · Getting treatment properly
How to use Mounjaro through a regulated route
Mounjaro (tirzepatide) is a prescription-only medicine, supplied only after an online consultation reviewed by a GPhC-registered prescriber. It is used alongside a reduced-calorie diet and increased physical activity. Individual results vary.1
Mounjaro is available on the NHS, but access is being phased in over several years. NICE recommends it for adults with a BMI of at least 35 plus at least one weight-related condition, and the NHS primary-care rollout began in June 2025 with the highest-need groups first.4 Full rollout is expected to take years, which is why many people who meet the licensed criteria choose regulated private treatment.
With us, the process is straightforward:
- Complete a free online consultation: a short health questionnaire, no charge and no obligation.
- A GPhC-registered prescriber reviews it. Payment is taken when you place the order; if the prescriber decides the treatment is not suitable, the order is refunded automatically in full.
- Your pen is dispensed by our registered pharmacy (GPhC 9012878), with same-day dispatch when ordered by 3pm and free next-day tracked delivery in temperature-controlled packaging.
Our supply is official LillyDirect supply, with genuine KwikPens.
09 · Serious side effects
Serious side effects: when to get help straight away
Serious side effects are uncommon but need urgent attention. Seek immediate medical help for: severe, persistent stomach pain that may spread to your back, with or without vomiting (possible pancreatitis); pain in the upper right abdomen, fever or yellowing of skin/eyes (possible gallbladder problems); or signs of a severe allergic reaction such as swelling of the face or throat and difficulty breathing. If you take insulin or a sulfonylurea alongside Mounjaro, watch for low blood sugar (shakiness, sweating, confusion) — your prescriber may need to adjust those medicines.1
