A quick overview

What to know
before you start.

  • Affordable is not the same as cheap: a licensed, prescriber-reviewed medicine with trial evidence is better value than an unregulated product.
  • Your first 2.5mg Mounjaro pen is £129.99 with code FIRST40; later orders are £25 off the standard price.
  • A first year costs £2,711.88 at standard prices if you settle at 5mg, up to £3,599.88 at 15mg, before discounts.
  • NHS access exists but is phased in over several years, so many eligible adults choose private treatment.
  • Supplements and 'natural Ozempic' products are low-cost with no clinical oversight; they are not equivalent to prescription medicines.

01 · Cost

What affordable weight loss medication really costs in 2026

The cheapest option per month is not always the best value, because a product that does little is money wasted. Start with the licensed medicines, then compare price. Across the UK pharmacies we track (checked 12 October 2026), the cheapest starting Mounjaro pen is £143.96 and the dearest is £179.99, and the gap between providers for the same dose ranges from £27 to £41.

The Mounjaro pen at the 2.5mg starting dose costs £169.99 as a standard price. A new customer saves £40 on their first order at any dose with code FIRST40, including people switching to us at a higher dose (a first 15mg order is £289.99). Every future order is then £25 off the standard price (code DOSE25). All six doses are in stock.

02 · Planning

Planning the cost of a full year

A first year costs £2,711.88 at standard prices if you settle at 5mg, and up to £3,599.88 if you settle at 15mg, based on 13 pens over 52 weeks. If you step up after 4 weeks on each dose, your first four pens (2.5mg to 10mg) cost £959.96 at standard prices.

These totals are before discounts: a new customer's first order is £40 less, and every later order £25 less. If you settle at 7.5mg, 10mg or 12.5mg, the monthly standard prices are £279.99, £290.99 and £319.99. Not everyone needs the top dose, so your prescriber reviews your dose monthly rather than defaulting upwards. Our Mounjaro discount code guide shows the current values and codes.

03 · How to order

How ordering works

Ordering takes three steps, and the consultation is free with no obligation.

  • Free online consultation: a short health questionnaire. Start your free consultation.
  • Prescriber review: reviewed by a GPhC-registered prescriber. Payment is taken when you place the order; if the prescriber decides the treatment is not suitable, the order is refunded automatically in full.
  • Dispatch and delivery: same-day dispatch when ordered by 3pm, with free next-day tracked delivery in discreet, temperature-controlled packaging. Saturday delivery is £14.99.

The price shown is the price paid, and Klarna and pay-monthly options are available with no subscription lock-in. Repeat orders re-check suitability, so nothing ships automatically.

04 · Mounjaro evidence

What you get for the money: the Mounjaro evidence

Mounjaro is the brand name for tirzepatide, a once-weekly injection licensed in the UK for weight management in adults and for type 2 diabetes.1 In the SURMOUNT-1 trial of 2,539 adults, people taking tirzepatide alongside diet and exercise lost on average 15% of their body weight on 5mg, 19.5% on 10mg and 20.9% on 15mg over 72 weeks, compared with 3.1% with lifestyle changes alone.2

These are trial averages, and individual results vary. As a worked example, for someone starting at 100 kg, 20.9% is about 21 kg. Treatment works alongside a reduced-calorie diet and increased physical activity, not instead of them.2 At 72 weeks, 85% of participants on 5mg, 89% on 10mg and 91% on 15mg had lost at least 5% of their body weight.2

For a comparison of what else is on the market, see our guide to effective prescription weight loss medications.

05 · Who is eligible

Who can be prescribed Mounjaro

Mounjaro is licensed for adults with a BMI of 30 or above, or a BMI between 27 and 30 with at least one weight-related condition such as high blood pressure, high cholesterol, obstructive sleep apnoea, cardiovascular disease, prediabetes or type 2 diabetes. It must be used alongside a reduced-calorie diet and increased physical activity.1 A prescriber will assess your BMI, medical history and current medicines before deciding whether it is suitable.

Tell your prescriber about everything you take. Because Mounjaro slows stomach emptying, it can affect how quickly some oral medicines are absorbed, particularly when you start or increase the dose. This matters most for warfarin or other narrow-margin medicines, and for insulin or sulfonylureas, where doses may need reducing to avoid low blood sugar.113 No adjustment is needed for paracetamol. If you use the contraceptive pill, Mounjaro slows stomach emptying, which can reduce how well oral contraceptive pills are absorbed. The SmPC advises switching to a non-oral method, or adding a barrier method (such as condoms), for 4 weeks after starting Mounjaro and for 4 weeks after each dose increase.

06 · NHS or private

NHS or private: the honest picture

Mounjaro is available on the NHS, but access is being phased in over several years. NICE recommends it for adults with a BMI of at least 35 plus at least one weight-related condition. The NHS primary-care rollout began in June 2025 with the highest-need groups first, initially BMI 40+ with four or more qualifying conditions.46

Full rollout is expected to take years, which is why many people who meet the licensed criteria choose regulated private treatment rather than waiting. If you may qualify, ask your GP. If you do not, or you would rather not wait, a private route reviewed by a GPhC-registered prescriber is an option. NHS access to Wegovy runs through specialist weight-management services; ask your GP.

07 · Avoiding false economy

Avoiding false economy and counterfeit risk

A very low price for a prescription weight loss injection is a warning sign. Be wary of anyone offering to supply without a consultation or prescription, or promising specific results. The MHRA publishes counterfeit medicine alerts and runs the Yellow Card scheme for reporting suspected side effects or fake products.7

Check that a pharmacy appears on the GPhC register; ours is registration 9012878. We supply genuine KwikPens through official LillyDirect supply, direct from Eli Lilly's UK distribution. Needles, a sharps bin and injection guidance come with every order, and our prescribing team provides monthly reviews and side-effect support.

If you are comparing providers, our guide to leading prescription weight loss medications covers more options.

Your questions, answered

Mounjaro price UK — frequently asked questions

Answers to common questions about Mounjaro prices, NHS access and ongoing treatment.

Ask our pharmacy team
What are the affordable weight loss pills?
Prescription tablets such as Wegovy tablets and Foundayo are licensed options, and you can see their current prices on our treatments page. Orlistat is another lower-cost route; figures vary, so your prescriber can advise. Low-cost supplements have no clinical oversight, so they are not equivalent. A prescriber can help you choose between pills and injections.
What is the cheapest price for Mounjaro injections?
Across the UK pharmacies we track, pens range from £143.96 to £339.00 per month depending on dose and provider, checked 12 October 2026. Every later order with us is £25 off the standard price.
What is the best weight loss medication for 2026?
There is no single best option; it depends on your BMI, health conditions and preferences. Mounjaro and Wegovy are both licensed for weight management. In the SURMOUNT-5 head-to-head comparison, tirzepatide was compared with semaglutide. A GPhC-registered prescriber will assess which suits you after a free consultation.15
How much weight can you lose on Mounjaro in 3 months?
Three months in, most people are still on the lower rungs of the dose ladder, so trial-average losses at this stage are modest compared with the headline figures. In SURMOUNT-1, average weight loss built month by month, with the full 15–21% averages measured at 72 weeks, not 12. A sensible 3-month expectation on a standard titration is mid single digits as a percentage of body weight, with wide individual variation. Slower early progress does not predict failure — the dose you respond to may still be ahead of you.2
How long does it take to lose 3 stone on Mounjaro?
There is no reliable timeline for reaching a target weight. Trial results are averages over 72 weeks, and individual results vary. Treatment works alongside a reduced-calorie diet and increased physical activity. Your prescriber reviews your progress and dose monthly with you.2
Is it possible to lose weight too quickly on Mounjaro?
Speak to your prescriber if you feel your weight is falling faster than you expected or you feel unwell. Mounjaro is stepped up gradually, with dose reviews, rather than pushed. Report any new or worrying symptoms to your prescriber, and you can report side effects through the Yellow Card scheme.19
What is blocking my weight loss?
Many things can slow progress, including diet, activity levels, medicines you take and underlying health conditions. Medicines used for weight management work alongside a reduced-calorie diet and increased physical activity. A prescriber can review your history and current medicines to see whether treatment is suitable.1
