A quick overview

What to know
before you start.

  • Cheap and effective are different questions: low-cost supplements carry no clinical oversight, while licensed prescription medicines are assessed by a prescriber.
  • Across the UK pharmacies we track, Mounjaro pens cost £143.96 to £339.00 per month, depending on dose and provider.
  • Your first 2.5mg pen costs £129.99 with code FIRST40; every later order is £25 off the standard price.
  • In SURMOUNT-1, tirzepatide users lost 15% to 20.9% of body weight on average over 72 weeks; individual results vary.
  • The NHS route is being phased in over several years, so some people choose regulated private treatment.

Affordable options compared

The cheapest route is not always the best value, because low-cost products differ hugely in evidence and oversight.

What Mounjaro costs with us

The Mounjaro pen costs £169.99 at the 2.5mg starting dose. A new customer gets £40 off their first order at any dose with code FIRST40, and an automatic £25 reorder discount applies to every future order (code DOSE25). Switching at 15mg? Your first order is £289.99.

If you step up after 4 weeks on each dose, your first four pens (2.5mg to 10mg) cost £959.96 at standard prices. A first year costs £2,711.88 if you stay on 5mg after your 2.5mg starting pen, up to £3,599.88 if you step up through every dose to 15mg. Our Mounjaro discount code guide explains the savings. Klarna and pay-monthly options are available, with no subscription lock-in.

Our consultation is free, and the price shown is the price paid. Every order is reviewed by a GPhC-registered prescriber, and unsuitable orders are refunded automatically. We supply genuine KwikPens through official LillyDirect supply, with free next-day tracked delivery.

03 · Is Mounjaro suitable?

Who Mounjaro is licensed for

Mounjaro is licensed for weight management in adults with a BMI of 30 or above, or between 27 and 30 with at least one weight-related condition such as high blood pressure, high cholesterol, obstructive sleep apnoea, cardiovascular disease, prediabetes or type 2 diabetes. It must be used alongside a reduced-calorie diet and increased physical activity.1 A prescriber assesses your BMI, medical history and current medicines first.

Tell them about everything you take, especially warfarin, insulin or sulfonylureas, where doses may need reducing to avoid low blood sugar.1 Mounjaro must not be used during pregnancy, and it should be stopped at least one month before trying to conceive. Mounjaro slows stomach emptying, which can reduce how well oral contraceptive pills are absorbed: switch to a non-oral method, or add a barrier method (such as condoms), for 4 weeks after starting Mounjaro and for 4 weeks after each dose increase.

04 · What the evidence shows

What you get for the money

In SURMOUNT-1, 2,539 adults taking tirzepatide alongside diet and exercise lost on average 15% of body weight on 5mg, 19.5% on 10mg and 20.9% on 15mg over 72 weeks, versus 3.1% with lifestyle changes alone.2 For someone starting at 100 kg, 20.9% is about 21 kg. These are trial averages, and individual results vary.

Tirzepatide activates both GIP and GLP-1 receptors, helping regulate appetite and slow stomach emptying.1

05 · NHS access

The NHS route

Mounjaro is available on the NHS, but access is being phased in over several years. NICE recommends it for adults with a BMI of at least 35 plus at least one weight-related condition, and the primary-care rollout began in June 2025 with the highest-need groups first, initially BMI 40+ with four or more qualifying conditions.46 Many people who meet the licensed criteria choose regulated private treatment rather than waiting.

06 · Avoiding counterfeits

Cheap should never mean unregulated

Very low prices from sellers offering to supply without a consultation or prescription are a warning sign. Check any pharmacy on the GPhC register; ours is 9012878. Report suspected counterfeits or side effects through the Yellow Card scheme.7

How ordering works

How ordering works at EverydayMeds

Three steps, with our pharmacy team alongside you.

  1. EverydayMeds online consultation on a mobile phone

    Step 1: Online consultation — 5–10 minutes

Complete a confidential health questionnaire covering BMI, medical history and current medication. No payment is taken until you're approved.

  2. A clinician ready to review an online consultation

Step 2: Prescriber review — usually same day

A UK registered prescriber checks your suitability against the licensed criteria (BMI ≥30, or ≥27 with a weight-related condition) and contraindications, and confirms your starting dose.

  3. An EverydayMeds delivery box

    Step 3: Next-day tracked delivery

Dispensed by our GPhC-registered pharmacy in temperature-controlled packaging with needles and a sharps bin included. Orders approved by 3pm for next-day tracked delivery.

Your questions, answered

Mounjaro price UK — frequently asked questions

Answers to common questions about Mounjaro prices, NHS access and ongoing treatment.

Ask our pharmacy team
What is the most inexpensive weight loss medication?
Low-cost supplements and some over-the-counter products are the cheapest, but they carry no clinical oversight and their dosing is not standardised. Among licensed prescription options, a first 2.5mg Mounjaro pen costs £129.99 with code FIRST40 (standard price £169.99). Your prescriber can advise on other options.
What is a cheaper alternative to Mounjaro in the UK?
Wegovy is another licensed once-weekly injection, with a first pen from £99.99. Wegovy tablets are also available; see current prices on the product page. Which suits you depends on your health and a prescriber's review, so compare options through our free consultation.
What is known as the "poor man's Ozempic"?
Berberine is marketed as "nature's Ozempic" or the "poor man's Ozempic". It is a low-cost supplement with no clinical oversight and dosing is not standardised. It is not the same medicine as semaglutide or tirzepatide, and dramatic weight-loss claims should be treated with caution.
What is the new drug better than Mounjaro?
SURMOUNT-5, the first large head-to-head trial, compared tirzepatide directly with semaglutide; which medicine suits you depends on your health profile, tolerance and prescriber advice. Newer oral options such as Wegovy tablets and Foundayo exist, but their trials should not be compared with Mounjaro's as if head to head.
Who does the cheapest weight loss pills?
Prices vary by provider, and the cheapest product is not always the most suitable. Across the UK pharmacies we track, the cheapest Mounjaro pen is £143.96 per month. For tablets such as Wegovy tablets, see current prices on the product page, and choose a GPhC-registered pharmacy.
What is a cheaper alternative to Ozempic?
Ozempic is licensed for type 2 diabetes. For weight management, a prescriber may consider Wegovy (semaglutide) or Mounjaro (tirzepatide). Costs differ by dose and provider, so complete a free consultation to see which option is suitable and priced fairly.
Can I mimic Ozempic naturally?
No supplement or food replicates a prescription GLP-1 medicine. Tirzepatide and semaglutide work alongside a reduced-calorie diet and increased physical activity, and those lifestyle steps remain the foundation. Supplements marketed as natural alternatives have no clinical oversight and their dosing is not standardised.
