What does 15mg Mounjaro mean in ml?
15mg is the weight of tirzepatide in your weekly dose, and ml is the volume of liquid that carries it. The two are linked by the concentration printed on your pen label, but the pen does that conversion for you. You set the dose by the number in the window, never by counting clicks1.

02 · What to do next
Do you need to convert at all?
No. Because the KwikPen is a pre-filled pen, there is no syringe to fill and no volume to measure. A conversion only matters if you are comparing labels or satisfying curiosity, not for injecting safely.

03 · How the pen works
How the KwikPen sets your dose
The Mounjaro KwikPen is set by turning the dose knob until the dose indicator shows the correct dose in the window. You confirm the dose by the number in the window, never by counting clicks. Each pen contains four weekly doses; the pen will not let you dial past the medicine left inside.1

04 · Syringes and splitting
Can you use a syringe or split a dose?
No. Drawing medicine out of the pen with a syringe is unsafe and unlicensed. Taking smaller or more spread-out doses than the pen is designed to deliver is not licensed, not supported by the pen's design and not endorsed by any UK regulator. Altering doses outside the licence means unknown dosing accuracy and no safety data.1
If side effects are the worry, your prescriber can hold a dose longer or step down within the licence. Talk to them rather than trying to measure a smaller amount yourself.
05 · Where 15mg fits
Where 15mg sits on the dose ladder
Everyone starts Mounjaro on 2.5mg once a week. After at least 4 weeks the dose increases to 5mg, and can then step up by 2.5mg at a minimum of 4-week intervals (7.5mg, 10mg, 12.5mg) up to a maximum of 15mg weekly, depending on how you respond and tolerate it. Many people settle at a maintenance dose of 5mg, 10mg or 15mg; higher is not automatically better, and your prescriber will guide the right pace.1
In the SURMOUNT-1 trial of 2,539 adults, people taking tirzepatide alongside diet and exercise lost on average 20.9% of their body weight on 15mg over 72 weeks, compared with 3.1% with lifestyle changes alone. These are trial averages and individual results vary.2
06 · Storage and in-use pens
Storing your 15mg pen
Keep Mounjaro pens in a fridge at 2–8°C and never freeze them. Once in use, a pen can be kept out of the fridge at a temperature not above 30°C for up to 30 days after first use, and must then be thrown away. Do not use a pen that has been above 30°C. Keep the pen cap on to protect it from light, and never use a pen that has been frozen.1
