About Mounjaro® (Tirzepatide) Injectable Pen
Mounjaro® contains tirzepatide, a once-weekly injectable medicine used to help manage type 2 diabetes and, in some cases, weight management in adults. It works by improving blood sugar control and supporting weight loss when combined with diet and lifestyle changes.
What the medicine is
Pre-filled, single-use injectable pens available in strengths from 2.5 mg to 15 mg. Each pen delivers one dose of tirzepatide for subcutaneous injection.
How it works
Tirzepatide is a dual GIP and GLP-1 receptor agonist. It helps regulate blood sugar by increasing insulin release and lowering glucagon levels in response to meals. It also slows gastric emptying and reduces appetite, which supports weight reduction.
What it is used for
Improving glycaemic control in adults with type 2 diabetes, alongside diet and exercise. May also be prescribed for weight management in eligible adults.
