Where to find weight loss injection stock photos

The big commercial image libraries, such as Shutterstock, Getty Images, Adobe Stock and Alamy, all carry injection pen imagery. Typical categories are close-ups of pens, people injecting into the stomach or thigh, and still-life shots with scales and tape measures. We do not host or licence images, so check each library's licence terms for your intended use.

Many of these pictures are staged and generic. Some show a pen that does not match any UK product, and some show an unlabelled device. That matters if your page is about a specific medicine.

02 · Accuracy

What an accurate image should show

An accurate Mounjaro image shows a KwikPen, a pre-filled multi-dose pen made by Eli Lilly, in one of six strengths: 2.5mg, 5mg, 7.5mg, 10mg, 12.5mg or 15mg.¹ Each pen contains four weekly doses.¹³ Use this checklist before you publish:

• The pen is a once-weekly device, not a daily one.
• The injection site is the stomach (at least 5cm from the belly button), the front of the thigh, or the back of the upper arm if someone else injects.¹³
• The pen cap is on when not injecting, because the pen should be protected from light.¹
• The picture does not imply a result, such as a scale next to a dramatic number.

03 · Reading a pen image

How the pen works, as an image should show it

The KwikPen is set by turning the dose knob until the correct dose appears in the window.

Unopened pens are kept in a fridge at 2–8°C and never frozen. Once in use, a pen can be kept out of the fridge at a temperature not above 30°C for up to 30 days after first use, then thrown away. Do not use a pen that has been above 30°C or has been frozen.¹ A picture of a pen on a sunny windowsill is not good practice to copy.

04 · What photos cannot show

What a photo cannot tell you

A picture cannot show whether a medicine is suitable, what dose is right, or what to expect. In the SURMOUNT-1 trial of 2,539 adults, people taking tirzepatide alongside diet and exercise lost on average 15% of body weight on 5mg, 19.5% on 10mg and 20.9% on 15mg over 72 weeks, compared with 3.1% with lifestyle changes alone. These are trial averages and individual results vary.²

05 · Avoiding fake products

Beware of images used to sell fakes

Polished product photos are easy to copy, and sellers offering to supply without a consultation or prescription are a warning sign. Mounjaro is prescription-only. The MHRA publishes counterfeit medicine alerts and runs the Yellow Card scheme for reporting problems.⁷ You can confirm a pharmacy on the GPhC register; ours is 9012878.¹²
