01 · The cost

What does doctor-supervised tirzepatide cost in the UK?

The Mounjaro pen costs £169.99 at 2.5mg, £218.99 at 5mg, £279.99 at 7.5mg and £290.99 at 10mg. At 12.5mg it is £319.99, and at 15mg it is £329.99. These are standard prices for one pen of four weeks.

Your first 2.5mg pen costs £129.99 with code FIRST40 (standard price £169.99). The new-customer discount applies at any dose, so if you are switching to us at 15mg your first order is £289.99. After that, an automatic £25 reorder discount applies to every future order (code DOSE25). The Mounjaro discount code page shows how both work.

Across the UK pharmacies we track, a Mounjaro pen costs between £143.96 and £339.00 depending on dose and provider (checked 12 October 2026). For the same dose, the gap between providers runs from £27 to £41. Compare like for like: same dose, same genuine product, and whether the consultation and follow-up are included.

Pharmacy sell prices differ because of confidential discounts, which is why it pays to check dated prices rather than rely on older articles. Our guide to weight loss injection monthly costs compares the wider options.

02 · What you get

What does doctor supervision include?

Supervision means a qualified prescriber decides whether tirzepatide is suitable, sets your dose and keeps reviewing it. The consultation is free, and the price shown is the price paid, with no hidden fees.

  • Free online consultation: a short health questionnaire, no charge and no obligation.
  • Prescriber review: your answers are reviewed by a GPhC-registered prescriber, not a scoring script. Payment is taken when you place the order; if the prescriber decides the treatment is not suitable, the order is refunded automatically in full.
  • Ongoing monthly reviews: dose titration, follow-up assessments and side-effect support from the prescribing team. Repeat orders re-check suitability, and nothing ships automatically.
  • Practical support: needles, a sharps bin and injection guidance come with every order, and the free GLPTrackr app helps you log doses and progress.

A prescriber assesses your BMI, medical history and current medicines before deciding whether tirzepatide is suitable.1 If the prescriber decides it is not suitable, the order is refunded automatically in full. Start with the free consultation to find out.

03 · Planning

How much does a year of tirzepatide cost?

A first year (52 weeks, 13 pens) costs £2,711.88 if you settle at 5mg, and up to £3,599.88 if you settle at 15mg. Those totals are at standard prices before discounts. A new customer's first order is £40 less, and every later order is £25 less.

If you step up after 4 weeks on each dose, your first four pens (2.5mg to 10mg) cost £959.96 at standard prices. Most people do not stay on one dose from day one, because treatment starts low and steps up. The table shows how the cost builds.

PhaseLengthPensStandard cost
First year, settling at 5mg52 weeks13£2,711.88
First year, settling at 15mg52 weeks13£3,599.88
Maintenance at 7.5mgper month1£279.99
Maintenance at 10mgper month1£290.99
Maintenance at 12.5mgper month1£319.99

Weekly, the cost works out at £42.50 at 2.5mg, £54.75 at 5mg and £70.00 at 7.5mg. At 10mg it is £72.75, at 12.5mg £80.00, and at 15mg £82.50. The right dose is the one your prescriber sets for you. For a wider view of running costs, see the hidden cost of weight loss drugs.

04 · NHS or private

Is tirzepatide cheaper on the NHS?

Mounjaro is available on the NHS, but access is being phased in over several years. NICE recommends it for adults with a BMI of at least 35 plus at least one weight-related condition. The primary-care rollout began in June 2025 with the highest-need groups first, initially BMI 40+ with four or more qualifying conditions.46 Full rollout is expected to take years, which is why many people who meet the licensed criteria choose regulated private treatment rather than waiting.

If you may qualify, ask your GP about NHS access. The NHS prescription charge in England is £9.90 per item, but whether and how it applies to your own prescription is something your GP or pharmacist can confirm. If you do not yet qualify, or do not want to wait, supervised private treatment is the alternative.

05 · Who can be prescribed

Who can be prescribed tirzepatide?

Mounjaro is licensed for weight management in adults with a BMI of 30 or above. It is also licensed for those with a BMI between 27 and 30 plus at least one weight-related condition. Examples include high blood pressure, high cholesterol, obstructive sleep apnoea, cardiovascular disease, prediabetes and type 2 diabetes.1 It must be used alongside a reduced-calorie diet and increased physical activity.

Mounjaro is a once-weekly injectable made by Eli Lilly, supplied as a pre-filled multi-dose KwikPen in six strengths: 2.5mg, 5mg, 7.5mg, 10mg, 12.5mg and 15mg.1 Tirzepatide activates two gut-hormone receptors, GIP and GLP-1. Together they help regulate appetite, slow how quickly the stomach empties and improve the way the body responds to insulin.1 In practice most people feel fuller sooner and less hungry between meals.

06 · What results to expect

What do you get for the money?

In the SURMOUNT-1 trial of 2,539 adults, people taking tirzepatide alongside diet and exercise lost on average 15% of their body weight on 5mg, 19.5% on 10mg and 20.9% on 15mg over 72 weeks. The comparison group lost 3.1% with lifestyle changes alone.2 These are trial averages, and individual results vary. For someone starting at 100 kg, 20.9% is about 21 kg.

At 72 weeks, 85% of participants on 5mg, 89% on 10mg and 91% on 15mg had lost at least 5% of their body weight. Half of participants on 10mg and 57% on 15mg lost at least 20%.2 Treatment works alongside a reduced-calorie diet and increased physical activity, not instead of them, and trial averages do not predict your own result.

07 · Saving money safely

How can you lower the cost safely?

We also offer Klarna and pay-monthly options, with no subscription lock-in.

Our lowest cost weight loss injections guide covers ways to compare prices.

08 · Avoiding fake pens

Why a verified pharmacy matters more than a low price

The MHRA has seized thousands of fake weight-loss pens in the UK and has issued alerts after falsified Mounjaro pens were identified. Fake pens have caused hospitalisations, and some contained insulin rather than tirzepatide.7 Only buy from a pharmacy you can verify on the GPhC register, never from social media, beauty salons or unverified websites. Genuine treatment always involves a prescription and a clinical consultation.12

Genuine UK stock is supplied through Lilly's official distribution to licensed pharmacies, and every pen carries a batch number and expiry date. Our Mounjaro comes through official LillyDirect supply, direct from Eli Lilly's UK distribution. Read more in our guide to authentic Eli Lilly Mounjaro.

A genuine pen arrives cold-chain packaged, and the solution inside is clear and colourless. Do not use a pen that has been frozen, looks cloudy or discoloured, has particles in it or is past its expiry. The same applies to one that has been above 30°C, or out of the fridge for more than 30 days in use. If anything seems wrong, check the pharmacy on the GPhC register and contact it before injecting.

09 · Tablets and other options

What about Wegovy tablets and Foundayo?

Wegovy tablets (oral semaglutide) and Foundayo (orforglipron) each have their own product information, and whether either suits you is a decision for a prescriber.2021 For current availability and pricing, see our all weight loss treatments page.

Because trials of different medicines used different designs, their results should not be set side by side as if head to head. SURMOUNT-5 is the trial that compared tirzepatide directly with injected semaglutide. Your prescriber can explain the options that fit your health and budget.

10 · How ordering works

How ordering works

Ordering takes three steps and the consultation is free. Other providers' pages, such as those on Medivera tirzepatide cost or Ivyrx tirzepatide cost, can help you compare, so check dated prices on each.

  • Complete the consultation: a short health questionnaire, with no charge and no obligation.
  • Prescriber review: a GPhC-registered prescriber reviews it. Payment is taken when you place the order; if the prescriber decides the treatment is not suitable, the order is refunded automatically in full.
  • Dispatch and delivery: dispensed by our registered pharmacy, with same-day dispatch when ordered by 3pm. Delivery is free, next-day, tracked and in temperature-controlled packaging. Saturday delivery is £14.99.

All six doses are in stock. Payment is by Visa, Mastercard or Klarna, with pay-monthly options and no subscriptions. Support is available Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm, on 0333 207 0413 or at support@everydaymeds.co.uk. You can also compare with Orderly tirzepatide cost, Fifty 410 tirzepatide cost and Defy medical tirzepatide cost.

Mounjaro (tirzepatide) is a prescription-only medicine, supplied only after an online consultation reviewed by a GPhC-registered prescriber. Individual results vary, and this is information, not a substitute for medical advice.
