02 · Ordering

How ordering works

  • Complete the free online consultation, a short health questionnaire with no obligation.
  • A GPhC-registered prescriber reviews it. Payment is taken when you place the order; if the prescriber decides the treatment is not suitable, the order is refunded automatically in full.
  • We dispense and dispatch, same day if ordered by 3pm, with free next-day tracked delivery in discreet, temperature-controlled packaging.

Our official LillyDirect supply means genuine KwikPens sourced from Eli Lilly's UK distribution. Klarna and pay-monthly options are available, with no subscription. For more, see our UK pharmacy overview.

03 · What Mounjaro is

What Mounjaro is and how it works

Mounjaro is the brand name for tirzepatide, a once-weekly injectable prescription medicine made by Eli Lilly. In the UK it is licensed for weight management in adults and for type 2 diabetes. It comes as a pre-filled multi-dose KwikPen in six strengths: 2.5mg, 5mg, 7.5mg, 10mg, 12.5mg and 15mg.1

Tirzepatide activates two natural gut-hormone receptors, GIP and GLP-1. These help regulate appetite, slow how quickly the stomach empties and improve the body's response to insulin. Most people feel fuller sooner and less hungry between meals, which supports a reduced-calorie diet.1

04 · Trial results

What the SURMOUNT-1 trial found

In SURMOUNT-1, 2,539 adults taking tirzepatide alongside diet and exercise lost on average 15% of body weight on 5mg, 19.5% on 10mg and 20.9% on 15mg over 72 weeks, compared with 3.1% with lifestyle changes alone.2

For someone starting at 100 kg, 20.9% is about 21 kg. These are trial averages, so individual results vary, and treatment works alongside a reduced-calorie diet and increased physical activity, not instead of them.2

05 · Eligibility and NHS

Who can be prescribed it

Mounjaro is licensed for adults with a BMI of 30 or above, or a BMI between 27 and 30 with at least one weight-related condition such as high blood pressure, high cholesterol, obstructive sleep apnoea, cardiovascular disease, prediabetes or type 2 diabetes. A prescriber assesses your BMI, medical history and current medicines first.1

Mounjaro is also available on the NHS, but access is being phased in over several years. NICE recommends it for adults with a BMI of at least 35 plus a weight-related condition, and the primary-care rollout began in June 2025 with the highest-need groups first.46 Many people who meet the licensed criteria choose regulated private treatment rather than waiting.

06 · Other medicines

Taking other medicines alongside it

Because Mounjaro slows stomach emptying, it can affect how quickly some oral medicines are absorbed, particularly at the start or when the dose rises. Tell your prescriber about everything you take, especially warfarin or other narrow-margin medicines, insulin or sulfonylureas, where doses may need reducing to avoid low blood sugar. No adjustment is needed for paracetamol.113

Mounjaro is prescription-only and used alongside a reduced-calorie diet and more activity. This page is information, not a substitute for medical advice. See also types of prescription weight loss medication.

How ordering works

How ordering works at EverydayMeds

Three steps, with our pharmacy team alongside you.

  1. EverydayMeds online consultation on a mobile phone

    Step 1: Online consultation — 5–10 minutes

Complete a confidential health questionnaire covering BMI, medical history and current medication. No payment is taken until you're approved.

  2. A clinician ready to review an online consultation

Step 2: Prescriber review — usually same day

A UK registered prescriber checks your suitability against the licensed criteria (BMI ≥30, or ≥27 with a weight-related condition) and contraindications, and confirms your starting dose.

  3. An EverydayMeds delivery box

    Step 3: Next-day tracked delivery

Dispensed by our GPhC-registered pharmacy in temperature-controlled packaging with needles and a sharps bin included. Orders approved by 3pm for next-day tracked delivery.

Your questions, answered

Mounjaro price UK — frequently asked questions

Answers to common questions about Mounjaro prices, NHS access and ongoing treatment.

Ask our pharmacy team
Can I get prescription weight loss medication in Daytona from EverydayMeds?
EverydayMeds is a GPhC-registered UK online pharmacy and supplies UK addresses only. If you live in the UK, you can start a free online consultation and a GPhC-registered prescriber will decide whether Mounjaro is suitable. If you are in Daytona, Florida, you would need a local US provider.
Is there a tablet equivalent to Mounjaro?
Tablet GLP-1 treatments exist, such as Wegovy tablets and Foundayo, but they work differently from tirzepatide and their trial results should not be compared directly with Mounjaro's.
What are the top 3 weight loss medications?
Licensed options include tirzepatide (Mounjaro), semaglutide (Wegovy) and daily liraglutide (Saxenda). They differ in dosing: Mounjaro and Wegovy are once-weekly injections, liraglutide is daily. Only a prescriber can judge which is right for you. Our guide to prescription weight loss medication types explains more.
What is the new drug better than Mounjaro?
In SURMOUNT-5, the first large head-to-head trial, adults on tirzepatide lost on average 20.2% of body weight over 72 weeks versus 13.7% on semaglutide 2.4mg (Wegovy). Both are effective, licensed treatments, and which suits you depends on your health profile, tolerance and prescriber advice. Newer oral options are available, but their trials cannot be set against Mounjaro's as if head to head. A prescriber can weigh suitability and side effects with you.
How much does Mounjaro cost in the UK?
A 2.5mg pen costs £169.99 per month at the standard price. Across the UK pharmacies we track, 2.5mg starting pens range from £143.96 to £179.99 (checked 11 October 2026).
Do I need a prescription for weight loss medication?
Yes. Mounjaro is a prescription-only medicine, supplied after an online consultation reviewed by a GPhC-registered prescriber. Products sold without a prescription are not equivalent; read about weight loss medication not requiring a prescription before relying on them.
Can I get Mounjaro on the NHS instead?
Yes, but access is phased in over several years. NICE recommends it for adults with a BMI of at least 35 plus a weight-related condition, and the primary-care rollout began in June 2025 with the highest-need groups first. See whether you can get Mounjaro on prescription.
