A quick overview

What to know
before you start.

  • Across the UK pharmacies we track, Mounjaro pens range from £143.96 to £339.00 per month, depending on dose and provider.
  • The gap between providers for the same dose ranges from £27 to £41, so comparing like-for-like doses matters.
  • Compare the whole journey, not just the headline price: consultation, prescriber review, delivery, repeat-order checks and whether the pharmacy is on the GPhC register.
  • New customers save £40 on their first order with code FIRST40, and every later order is £25 off the standard price.
  • Never buy from social media, salons or unverified sites; a genuine treatment always involves a prescription and a clinical consultation.

01 · The price picture

What online weight loss drugs cost in the UK (October 2026)

Mounjaro prices across the UK pharmacies we track run from £143.96 to £339.00 per month, where a month means one 4-week pen. That range covers every dose from 2.5mg to 15mg and every provider in our index, checked 12 October 2026.

Comparing a provider's 2.5mg price with another provider's 15mg price tells you nothing. The table breaks the index down into the comparisons that are meaningful, using our own price index of the UK pharmacies we track.

What we comparedLow endHigh end
Any Mounjaro pen, any dose, any provider tracked (per month)£143.96£339.00
2.5mg starting pen only (per month)£143.96£179.99
Gap between providers for the same dose£27£41
Boots, lowest to highest Mounjaro dose price (per month)£179.00£339.00

The gap row is the one to read twice. For an identical dose, the difference between the smallest and largest provider gap in our index is £27 to £41 per month.

02 · EverydayMeds pricing

What you pay at EverydayMeds

The standard price of one Mounjaro pen is £169.99 at 2.5mg, £218.99 at 5mg, £279.99 at 7.5mg, £290.99 at 10mg, £319.99 at 12.5mg and £329.99 at 15mg. All six doses are in stock, and each pen covers four weekly doses.

A new customer gets £40 off their first order at any dose with code FIRST40. That includes people switching to us from another provider at a higher dose. Your first 2.5mg pen therefore costs £129.99, and switching at 15mg means your first order is £289.99. After that, every future order is £25 off the standard price (code DOSE25). Our Mounjaro discount code guide explains how the discounts work.

The consultation is free, and the price shown is the price paid, with no hidden fees. Delivery is free next-day tracked delivery in temperature-controlled packaging, and Saturday delivery is £14.99. Orders placed by 3pm are dispatched the same day. Needles, a sharps bin and injection guidance come with every order.

03 · Beyond the headline price

What to compare besides the headline price

A low monthly price is only a bargain if the same things are included. Before you choose, check each of the following for every pharmacy on your shortlist.

04 · Ordering

How ordering works

Ordering takes three steps. First, start your free consultation, a short health questionnaire with no charge and no obligation. Second, a GPhC-registered prescriber reviews your answers. Payment is taken when you place the order; if the prescriber decides the treatment is not suitable, the order is refunded automatically in full. Third, our registered pharmacy dispenses your pen and sends it by free next-day tracked delivery, with same-day dispatch when you order by 3pm.

You can pay by Visa or Mastercard, or use Klarna and pay-monthly options. There are no subscriptions, and repeat orders re-check suitability rather than shipping automatically. Our support team is available Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm.

05 · Drug-by-drug comparison

Which weight loss drugs are being compared?

They are not interchangeable, so a price comparison only makes sense when you know what each one is.

Mounjaro is the brand name for tirzepatide, a once-weekly injectable prescription medicine made by Eli Lilly. In the UK it is licensed for weight management in adults and for type 2 diabetes, and it comes as a pre-filled multi-dose pen (KwikPen) in six strengths: 2.5mg, 5mg, 7.5mg, 10mg, 12.5mg and 15mg.1

Wegovy is semaglutide. Its pens are 0.25mg, 0.5mg, 1mg, 1.7mg and 2.4mg once weekly; the dose steps up after at least 4 weeks and reaches the 2.4mg maintenance dose from week 17.18 Your first Wegovy pen costs £99.99 as a first-order price. Our Wegovy price comparison has more detail.

The first large head-to-head result is SURMOUNT-5, where adults on tirzepatide lost on average 20.2% of body weight over 72 weeks versus 13.7% on semaglutide 2.4mg. Both are effective, licensed treatments, and which suits you depends on your health profile, tolerance and prescriber advice, not the headline number alone.15 The STEP 1 figure comes from a different trial against placebo, so do not set it side by side with SURMOUNT-1 or SURMOUNT-5 numbers as if they were head to head.9

Two GLP-1 weight-loss tablets are now licensed in the UK: Wegovy tablets (oral semaglutide, made by Novo Nordisk, approved by the MHRA in June 2026) and Foundayo (orforglipron, made by Eli Lilly, approved in August 2026). They are different medicines from Mounjaro, with their own dosing, eligibility checks and trial results, and both are prescription-only.2021 There is no tablet form of Mounjaro; tirzepatide is injection-only in the UK.

Liraglutide (Saxenda and similar products) is a daily injection, unlike once-weekly Mounjaro and Wegovy. Compare the dosing burden as well as the price. Our cost comparison of weight loss drugs sets these side by side in more depth, and you can see everything we supply on the weight loss treatments page.

06 · Planning a year's cost

How much does a full year of treatment cost?

A first year of Mounjaro costs £2,711.88 at standard prices if you settle at 5mg, and up to £3,599.88 if you settle at 15mg. Those totals cover 52 weeks, which is 13 pens. They are calculated before discounts: a new customer's first order is £40 less with code FIRST40, and every later order is £25 less than the standard price.

The maintenance dose you settle on changes the total more than anything else, so a headline 2.5mg price says little about what a year will cost. Mounjaro starts at 2.5mg and the dose steps up in stages according to how you respond and tolerate it, as agreed with your prescriber. Not everyone needs the top dose.

PhaseLengthWhat it costs at standard prices
Whole first year, settling at 5mg52 weeks, 13 pens£2,711.88
Whole first year, settling at 15mg52 weeks, 13 pens£3,599.88
Settling at 7.5mg, per pen thereafter4 weeks£279.99
Settling at 10mg, per pen thereafter4 weeks£290.99
Settling at 12.5mg, per pen thereafter4 weeks£319.99

Notice what the table does not do: it does not give a year figure for 7.5mg, 10mg or 12.5mg. Those depend on when you step up and how long you spend on each dose, so use the monthly price for the dose you expect to maintain and work forward with your prescriber.

Most people will not know their maintenance dose yet, so look at the 5mg and 15mg year totals as the lower and upper bounds for a first year. Subtract the first-order discount once and the reorder discount from each later order if you want a rough sense of what you will actually pay. Check that any provider you compare us with is quoting a like-for-like dose and not just a starting price.

Weekly equivalents can make comparison easier. At standard prices, a pen works out at £42.50 a week at 2.5mg, £54.75 at 5mg, £70.00 at 7.5mg, £72.75 at 10mg, £80.00 at 12.5mg and £82.50 at 15mg. If you are comparing against a provider who quotes per pen, multiply their figure back to the same unit before you decide.

You can spread the cost with Klarna and pay-monthly options, and there are no subscriptions, so you are never locked in. Our Mounjaro 5mg price comparison is useful if you expect to settle on that dose, and the weight loss drugs price drop guide follows how prices have moved.

07 · Why prices differ

Why do prices differ between online pharmacies?

Prices differ because providers set their own sell prices, and the dose you are quoted, the fees added and the discounts applied all change the final figure. In our price index, the gap between providers for the same dose ranges from £27 to £41 per month. That is a large range for an identical medicine from the same manufacturer.

Eli Lilly announced a UK list-price increase for Mounjaro, and pharmacy sell prices vary because of confidential discounts between suppliers and pharmacies. That is one reason two pharmacies can sell the same pen at different prices, and it is why we publish a dated index rather than a single quoted number. Our weight loss drugs price drop page covers how pricing has moved over time.

Several practical factors explain differences you will see when you compare:

  • Dose. Each pen is priced by strength. A 2.5mg pen and a 15mg pen are different products, and a provider's range runs across all six doses.
  • Consultation and delivery fees. Some providers add them to the headline price, so check what is included before you compare. At EverydayMeds the consultation is free and next-day tracked delivery is free.
  • Discounts. A first-order offer can make the opening pen cheaper, while later orders go back to standard rates unless a reorder discount applies. We apply £40 off a first order and £25 off every future order.
  • What is bundled. Ongoing monthly reviews, dose-titration support and side-effect help are part of safe treatment, and a lower price may or may not include them.
  • Supply source. Genuine UK stock is supplied through Lilly's official distribution to licensed pharmacies, and every pen carries a batch number and expiry date that can be checked.1

When you compare Boots with other providers, remember that Boots' own Mounjaro dose prices run from £179.00 to £339.00 per month in our index. The lowest figure is its lowest dose and the highest is its highest, so match dose to dose before drawing a conclusion.

Be careful with any price that looks far below what others show for the same dose. A suspiciously low price for a prescription medicine can signal a seller outside the regulated supply chain.

Ours are dated: the index was last checked 12 October 2026, and our own prices were checked 12 October 2026. For a wider look at suppliers, see our guide to GLP-1 pharmacies.

08 · Spotting genuine supply

How do you know an online pharmacy and its pens are genuine?

Check the pharmacy on the GPhC register before you pay, and never buy a prescription weight loss medicine from social media, beauty salons or unverified websites. This matters more than any price difference. The MHRA has seized thousands of fake weight-loss pens in the UK and has issued alerts after falsified Mounjaro pens were identified. Fake pens have caused hospitalisations, and some contained insulin rather than tirzepatide.7

Genuine treatment always involves a prescription and a clinical consultation. Any seller offering to supply without a consultation or prescription is a red flag, however attractive the price. EverydayMeds is a GPhC-registered pharmacy (registration 9012878), and you can look us up on the GPhC register yourself.12

A short checklist you can run on any provider:

  • The pharmacy has a GPhC registration number you can look up on the public register.
  • A prescriber reviews your answers before anything is dispensed.
  • The pharmacy can tell you where its stock comes from. Ours is official LillyDirect supply, direct from Eli Lilly's UK distribution.
  • The price shown is the price paid, with no surprise fees at checkout.
  • There is a named route to contact a real team if something seems wrong.

Once a pen arrives, check it. A genuine UK Mounjaro pen comes from a registered pharmacy with a batch number and expiry date, arrives cold-chain packaged, and the solution inside is clear and colourless. Do not use a pen that has been frozen, looks cloudy or discoloured, has particles in it, is past its expiry, has been above 30°C, or has been in use for more than 30 days. If supply or packaging ever seems wrong, check the pharmacy on the GPhC register and contact the pharmacy before injecting.13

Store unopened pens in the fridge until first use; they keep until the printed expiry date. For any question about unopened pens out of the fridge, check the patient information leaflet and contact the pharmacy.13

Use each pen as it was designed: a KwikPen is licensed to deliver four weekly doses, then it should be disposed of. Needles, a sharps bin and injection guidance come with every one of our orders.

If you suspect a pen is counterfeit or you have had an unexpected reaction, report it through the MHRA's Yellow Card scheme.7 Reporting helps regulators spot problems in the supply chain early.

When two prices are far apart, the cheaper one is only better if the supply is genuine, the review is real and the support is there when you need it.

09 · Who can get a prescription

Who can be prescribed Mounjaro privately?

Mounjaro is licensed for weight management in adults with a BMI of 30 or above, or a BMI between 27 and 30 with at least one weight-related condition such as high blood pressure, high cholesterol, obstructive sleep apnoea, cardiovascular disease, prediabetes or type 2 diabetes. It must be used alongside a reduced-calorie diet and increased physical activity.1

Meeting those licensed criteria does not mean automatic approval. A prescriber assesses your BMI, medical history and current medicines before deciding whether it is suitable for you.11

  • Your BMI and any weight-related conditions. These determine whether you fall within the licensed criteria.
  • Your medical history. Existing conditions can change whether tirzepatide is suitable.
  • Your current medicines. Some medicines need attention when starting. If you take insulin or sulfonylureas, doses may need adjusting because of the risk of low blood sugar.
  • Your goals and your plan. Treatment works alongside a reduced-calorie diet and increased physical activity, not instead of them.

Our consultation is free, so you can find out whether you are likely to be suitable before you spend anything. It is a short health questionnaire reviewed by a GPhC-registered prescriber, not a scoring script. Payment is taken when you place the order; if the prescriber decides the treatment is not suitable, the order is refunded automatically in full.

If you are already taking another GLP-1 medicine, do not run two together. There is no licensed direct conversion between semaglutide and tirzepatide. Switching is done under prescriber supervision: typically the previous medicine is stopped, a washout interval is observed, and Mounjaro is started at a dose your prescriber judges appropriate, often the 2.5mg starting dose, sometimes adjusted based on your history.

Mounjaro also must not be combined with other GLP-1 medicines, unlicensed research peptides (such as retatrutide, which has no UK licence), or compounded copies. These combinations have no safety data and no regulated supply chain. If something promises faster results outside a licensed pathway, that is the warning sign.

Ozempic is a related point: it is semaglutide licensed for type 2 diabetes, not a UK weight-loss medicine, and prescribing it privately for weight loss is off-label. The licensed weight-management options are Mounjaro and Wegovy, so a regulated UK pharmacy will not supply Ozempic for weight loss. If a site lists Ozempic as a cheap weight loss option, that is worth questioning.

Ongoing care continues after your first pen. Monthly reviews, dose-titration and follow-up assessments by the prescribing team are part of the service, and repeat orders re-check suitability.

10 · NHS versus private

NHS or private: how do the costs and access compare?

Mounjaro is available on the NHS, but access is being phased in over several years. NICE recommends it for adults with a BMI of at least 35 plus at least one weight-related condition, and the NHS primary-care rollout began in June 2025 with the highest-need groups first, initially BMI 40+ with four or more qualifying conditions.46 Full rollout is expected to take years, which is why many people who meet the licensed criteria choose regulated private treatment rather than waiting.

The NHS route and the private route are both legitimate. They differ in who qualifies, how soon you can start and what you pay. This table sets out the practical differences.

FactorNHS routePrivate online pharmacy
Who qualifiesPhased access, highest-need groups first, based on NICE criteriaLicensed criteria: BMI 30+, or BMI 27 to 30 with a weight-related condition, assessed by a prescriber

WaitingDepends on local rollout and where you sit in the phased groupsStart after a consultation and prescriber approval
SupportThrough your NHS clinical teamOngoing monthly reviews and dose-titration from the prescribing team

If you want to know whether you might qualify through your GP, the NICE guidance and the NHS pages are the right place to start.5 Our pages on Mounjaro price comparison on the NHS and weight loss jabs at pharmacies and the NHS go through the detail. NHS access to Wegovy runs through specialist weight-management services; ask your GP.

Choosing private does not stop you using the NHS later. If you are not sure which is right, a sensible first step is to speak to your GP about your options and, if you wish, complete a free consultation with us in parallel. There is no charge and no obligation to complete an order.

Whichever route you choose, remember the medicine is only part of the picture. Both routes expect a reduced-calorie diet and increased physical activity alongside treatment. A prescriber, whether NHS or private, will review how you are getting on, and you should tell them promptly about any side effects or new symptoms.

For people who do not yet qualify, or who do not want to wait for a phased rollout, a regulated private pharmacy is the alternative. The key is that it is regulated: the same checks on supply and prescribing should apply either way.

11 · What you are paying for

What do the trials say about results?

The most useful context for any price is what the treatment achieved in trials, remembering that trial averages do not predict your own result. In the SURMOUNT-1 trial of 2,539 adults, people taking tirzepatide alongside diet and exercise lost on average 15% of their body weight on 5mg, 19.5% on 10mg and 20.9% on 15mg over 72 weeks, compared with 3.1% with lifestyle changes alone. These are trial averages, individual results vary, and treatment works alongside a reduced-calorie diet and increased physical activity, not instead of them.2

To make that concrete, for someone starting at 100 kg, 20.9% is about 21 kg. That is straight arithmetic on the trial's average, not a prediction for any individual.

SURMOUNT-1 also reported how many people reached particular milestones. At 72 weeks, 85% of participants on 5mg, 89% on 10mg and 91% on 15mg had lost at least 5% of their body weight. Half of participants on 10mg and 57% on 15mg lost at least 20% of their body weight.2

For a direct comparison with semaglutide, look at SURMOUNT-5. In that trial of 751 adults, tirzepatide or semaglutide 2.4mg was taken for 72 weeks. At least 10% of body weight was lost by 81.6% on tirzepatide versus 60.5% on semaglutide; at least 15% by 64.6% versus 40.1%; at least 20% by 48.4% versus 27.3%; and at least 25% by 31.6% versus 16.1%. Average loss was 22.8 kg versus 15.0 kg.15

Semaglutide has its own evidence. In STEP 1, 86.4% of adults on semaglutide 2.4mg lost at least 5% of body weight over 68 weeks, compared with 31.5% on placebo. 69.1% lost at least 10% (versus 12.0%) and 50.5% lost at least 15% (versus 4.9%). Gastrointestinal side effects were reported by 74.2% of people on semaglutide 2.4mg, compared with 47.9% on placebo, and 7.0% stopped treatment because of side effects, compared with 3.1% on placebo.9

How should you use this when comparing prices? A medicine that is cheaper per pen is not automatically cheaper per result, and a medicine that costs more per pen is not automatically better. Which suits you depends on your health profile, tolerance and prescriber advice. The honest position is that both are effective, licensed treatments, and the price comparison should sit alongside that clinical decision rather than replace it.

One more point on value: the results above come from treatment taken as licensed, once weekly, over a long period and with diet and activity support. They do not come from cutting corners on dose or supply.

12 · Cutting cost safely

How can you lower the cost without cutting safety?

The safe ways to lower what you pay are using the live discounts, comparing like-for-like doses and spreading payments. The unsafe ways are the ones that change how the medicine is taken or where it comes from.

Safe options

  • Use the discounts. A new customer saves £40 on their first order at any dose with code FIRST40, and an automatic £25 reorder discount applies to every future order (code DOSE25).
  • Compare the same dose. The gap between providers for an identical dose ranges from £27 to £41 in our index, so a like-for-like check pays off.
  • Spread the payments. Klarna and pay-monthly options are available, with no subscription lock-in.
  • Talk to your clinical team rather than self-adjusting.

Options to avoid

Mounjaro is licensed as a once-weekly medicine, and its blood levels are designed around a 7-day cycle. A pen is designed and licensed to deliver exactly four weekly doses; use it as designed, then dispose of it. No regulated UK pharmacy or prescriber can endorse trying to get more from a pen.

Equally, do not combine Mounjaro with other GLP-1 medicines, unlicensed research peptides or compounded copies. There is no safety data for these combinations and no regulated supply chain behind them.

What about supplements and natural alternatives?

Natural GLP-1 supplements, such as berberine, are not medicines, are not regulated for this use and have no comparable trial evidence. They are available cheaply without assessment, but low cost and no clinical oversight is not the same thing as good value. Treat dramatic weight-loss claims on supplement sites with caution, and remember that dosing is not standardised.

Other licensed options

Other licensed options work differently. Orlistat is a tablet that blocks some dietary fat absorption and produces smaller average losses. Wegovy and Saxenda (liraglutide) are other licensed injectables, and Saxenda is a daily injection rather than once-weekly. Your prescriber can advise which licensed option fits your circumstances.

Finally, remember that a pen's 4-week price buys you more than a pen: it buys a prescriber review, a regulated supply chain and a team to contact if something goes wrong. If you are ready, start the free consultation to see whether treatment is suitable.

13 · Serious side effects

Serious side effects: when to get help straight away

Serious side effects are uncommon but need urgent attention. Seek immediate medical help for: severe, persistent stomach pain that may spread to your back, with or without vomiting (possible pancreatitis); pain in the upper right abdomen, fever or yellowing of skin/eyes (possible gallbladder problems); or signs of a severe allergic reaction such as swelling of the face or throat and difficulty breathing. If you take insulin or a sulfonylurea alongside Mounjaro, watch for low blood sugar (shakiness, sweating, confusion) — your prescriber may need to adjust those medicines.1

Mounjaro price UK — frequently asked questions

Answers to common questions about Mounjaro prices, NHS access and ongoing treatment.

Ask our pharmacy team
Which online weight loss drug costs least?
The price depends on the medicine, dose and provider, and a lower price does not mean lower cost per result. Across the UK pharmacies we track, Mounjaro pens run from £143.96 to £339.00 per month. Supplements are available cheaply but are not medicines and have no comparable trial evidence. A prescriber can advise which licensed option suits you, and the consultation is free.
Who is the cheapest supplier of Mounjaro in the UK?
Prices change, so no single provider is permanently cheapest. Across the UK pharmacies we track, the gap between providers for the same dose ranges from £27 to £41 per month, checked 12 October 2026. Compare the same dose, check what the price includes, and confirm the pharmacy is on the GPhC register. Our standard 2.5mg pen is £169.99.
What app can I use to compare pharmacy prices?
There is no single official app that compares private prescription weight loss prices, and prices on general comparison tools may be out of date or may leave out fees. A dated comparison, such as our index checked 12 October 2026, is more reliable. Always match dose to dose and confirm what is included. Our free companion app, GLPTrackr, is for tracking your GLP-1 journey on iOS and Android, not for comparing prices.
What is the price range for Mounjaro 2.5mg in the UK?
Across the UK pharmacies we track, the 2.5mg starting pen costs between £143.96 and £179.99 per month, checked 12 October 2026. At EverydayMeds the standard 2.5mg price is £169.99. The 2.5mg pen is the starting dose; your prescriber guides how the dose steps up.
Who is the cheapest for weight loss medication?
There is no permanent answer, because prices vary by medicine, dose and provider and are re-checked regularly. The most useful comparison is like-for-like: the same medicine, the same dose and the same inclusions, from a pharmacy you have verified on the GPhC register. Our cost comparison of weight loss drugs shows how the options compare, and our consultation is free with no obligation.
Do I qualify for Mounjaro on the NHS?
Mounjaro is available on the NHS, but access is being phased in over several years. NICE recommends it for adults with a BMI of at least 35 plus at least one weight-related condition, and the primary-care rollout began in June 2025 with the highest-need groups first, initially BMI 40+ with four or more qualifying conditions. Ask your GP whether you qualify, or consider regulated private treatment if you meet the licensed criteria and do not want to wait.4
How can I lose 2 stone in 12 weeks on the NHS?
A loss of that size in a set number of weeks cannot be promised. Trial figures are averages over long periods, such as 72 weeks in SURMOUNT-1, and individual results vary. Medicines work alongside a reduced-calorie diet and increased physical activity. The NHS route is through your GP or a weight-management service; ask what support you qualify for and what a realistic plan looks like for you.2
Is there a Japanese trick or a drink that burns belly fat?
Dramatic weight-loss claims should be treated with caution. The licensed options are prescription medicines such as Mounjaro and Wegovy, used alongside a reduced-calorie diet and increased physical activity, after a consultation reviewed by a prescriber.
Is it safe to buy weight loss drugs from the cheapest website I find?
Not necessarily. The MHRA has seized thousands of fake weight-loss pens in the UK, and fake pens have caused hospitalisations; some contained insulin rather than tirzepatide. Only buy from a pharmacy you can verify on the GPhC register, never from social media, beauty salons or unverified websites. Genuine treatment always involves a prescription and a clinical consultation, so be wary of anyone offering to supply without them.7
Is there a Mounjaro tablet that is cheaper than the injection?
There is no tablet form of Mounjaro; tirzepatide is injection-only in the UK. Two different GLP-1 weight-loss tablets are licensed: Wegovy tablets (oral semaglutide) and Foundayo (orforglipron). They are different medicines with their own dosing, eligibility checks and trial results, and both are prescription-only.
