A quick overview
What to know
before you start.
-
Mounjaro prices are set country by country, so a figure quoted for the US or Europe tells you little about what a UK patient pays.
-
Across the UK pharmacies we track, pens range from £143.96 to £339.00 per month depending on dose and provider (checked 12 October 2026).
-
At EverydayMeds a 2.5mg pen is £169.99 and a 15mg pen £329.99; new customers get £40 off a first order, with code FIRST40.
-
Eli Lilly raised the UK list price from 1 September 2025, so any UK figure from before then is out of date.
-
Never buy from a seller abroad or a social media account: only a pharmacy you can verify on the GPhC register is safe.

01 · The UK price
What Mounjaro costs in the UK
In the UK, the Mounjaro pen costs £169.99 per month at the 2.5mg starting dose and £329.99 per month at 15mg with EverydayMeds. Each pen is a four-week supply, and the standard prices for the middle doses are £218.99 (5mg), £279.99 (7.5mg), £290.99 (10mg) and £319.99 (12.5mg). Prices were checked 12 October 2026.
New customers save £40 on their first order at any dose with code FIRST40. That includes people moving over from another provider at a higher dose. After that, an automatic £25 reorder discount applies to every future order (code DOSE25). Your ongoing monthly cost is therefore the standard price of your dose minus £25.
The price shown is the price paid. The consultation is free and there are no hidden fees. Delivery is free and next-day, and Saturday delivery costs £14.99. There is no subscription, and Klarna and pay-monthly options are available.
02 · Provider gaps
How much UK prices differ between providers
UK providers charge very different amounts for the same pen. Across the UK pharmacies we track, the cheapest Mounjaro pen at any dose is £143.96 per month and the dearest is £339.00 (checked 12 October 2026). For the starting 2.5mg pen alone, prices run from £143.96 to £179.99.
For the same dose, the gap between providers is anywhere from £27 to £41 per month. That makes the provider you choose matter at least as much as the country you live in. Boots' Mounjaro dose prices run from £179.00 to £339.00 per month.

03 · Planning
What a UK year of Mounjaro costs
A first year of Mounjaro costs £2,711.88 if you stay on 5mg after your 2.5mg starting pen, up to £3,599.88 if you step up through every dose to 15mg, at standard prices. That is 52 weeks, or 13 pens. Your first order is £40 less and every later order £25 less than those standard figures.
If you step up after 4 weeks on each of 2.5mg, 5mg, 7.5mg and 10mg, your first four pens cost £959.96 at standard prices. If you settle at 7.5mg, 10mg or 12.5mg, work from the monthly price of that dose: £279.99, £290.99 or £319.99.
| Stage | Pens | Standard cost |
|---|---|---|
| First year, staying on 5mg after a 2.5mg starting pen | 13 | £2,711.88 |
| First year, stepping up through every dose to 15mg | 13 | £3,599.88 |
04 · Why prices differ by country
Why Mounjaro prices differ from country to country
Mounjaro prices differ between countries because each market sets its own list price, tax, reimbursement and pharmacy margin. The same pen can therefore cost very different amounts in different places. Eli Lilly's own UK price increase shows how much the list price alone can move.
Four things shape what a patient actually pays:
- List price. The manufacturer sets this for each market, and it can change. In the UK, Eli Lilly announced an increase on 14 August 2025, effective 1 September 2025.10
- Confidential discounts. Pharmacy sell prices vary because of confidential discounts, so two UK providers can charge different amounts for an identical pen.10
- Who pays. A public health service, an insurer or the patient may cover the cost. Out-of-pocket cost depends on that, not on the list price.
- Licensed use. Mounjaro is licensed in the UK for weight management and for type 2 diabetes, and what is funded can differ between the two.
This is why a single global figure is misleading. Comparison articles that quote US dollar or euro figures beside UK pounds usually mix list prices, insured prices and cash prices. Those are not like-for-like numbers.
05 · Country prices we do not quote
Mounjaro prices in Spain, Germany, Italy, France, Ireland and the US
| Country | What is known |
|---|---|
| United Kingdom | Tracked and dated: £169.99 to £329.99 per month at EverydayMeds, checked 12 October 2026. |
| Spain | Not tracked by us. Ask a licensed Spanish pharmacy, and check whether the dose you want is on sale there. |
| Germany | Not tracked by us. Prices and who pays depend on the German system and on your prescription. |
| Italy | Not tracked by us. Reimbursement rules differ by indication and by region. |
| France | Not tracked by us. Pricing and reimbursement are set nationally, so ask a French pharmacist. |
| Ireland | Not tracked by us. Ask an Irish pharmacy registered with the national regulator. |
| United States | Not tracked by us. Cash prices, insurance coverage and manufacturer schemes vary widely. |
If you are comparing countries because you hope to buy abroad and bring pens home, think twice. A pen should always come from a pharmacy that is verifiable and should always be supplied against a prescription. Strength labels, packaging and supply routes can differ between countries, and you cannot easily check any of that from home.
For the narrower question of where in the world the pen is produced, see our pages on which country Mounjaro is made in and its country of origin.
06 · The UK price increase
The September 2025 UK price increase
Eli Lilly raised the UK list price of Mounjaro from 1 September 2025, so UK prices quoted before then are out of date. The announcement was made on 14 August 2025.10
Read about current discount codes for Mounjaro to see how new-customer and reorder discounts apply.
07 · NHS versus private
NHS or private: how access changes the cost
Mounjaro is available on the NHS, but access is being phased in over several years. NICE recommends it for adults with a BMI of at least 35 plus at least one weight-related condition.4 The NHS primary-care rollout began in June 2025 with the highest-need groups first, initially BMI 40 or above with four or more qualifying conditions.6 Full rollout is expected to take years.6
If you qualify and are offered a place, you pay the standard NHS prescription charge of £9.90 in England rather than a private price. Many people who meet the licensed criteria but are not yet in an NHS group choose regulated private treatment instead of waiting. Check with your GP whether you fall into a current NHS group before you decide.
This is the biggest reason UK costs are hard to compare with other countries. A UK patient might pay a flat NHS prescription charge or a private monthly price. A figure for the "UK price" depends on which of those routes you mean.
08 · Who can be prescribed it
Who is eligible for Mounjaro in the UK
Mounjaro is licensed for weight management in adults with a BMI of 30 or above, or a BMI between 27 and 30 with at least one weight-related condition. Those conditions include high blood pressure, high cholesterol, obstructive sleep apnoea, cardiovascular disease, prediabetes and type 2 diabetes.1 It must be used alongside a reduced-calorie diet and increased physical activity.11
A prescriber will assess your BMI, medical history and current medicines before deciding whether it is suitable for you. That is why the price you see online is only part of the picture: payment is taken when you order, and a prescriber decides whether treatment is suitable. A declined consultation is refunded automatically in full.
Our consultation is free and carries no obligation. You can start your free consultation without paying anything first.
09 · How it works and what to expect
How Mounjaro works and what the trials show
Tirzepatide activates two natural gut-hormone receptors at once, GIP and GLP-1. Together these help regulate appetite, slow how quickly the stomach empties and improve how the body responds to insulin.1 Most people feel fuller sooner and less hungry between meals, which supports a reduced-calorie diet.1
In the SURMOUNT-1 trial of 2,539 adults, people taking tirzepatide alongside diet and exercise lost on average 15% of their body weight on 5mg, 19.5% on 10mg and 20.9% on 15mg over 72 weeks. The comparison group, on lifestyle changes alone, lost 3.1%.2 For someone starting at 100 kg, 20.9% is about 21 kg. These are trial averages: individual results vary, and the trial averages do not predict your own result.
At 72 weeks, 85% of participants on 5mg, 89% on 10mg and 91% on 15mg had lost at least 5% of their body weight.2 Half of participants on 10mg and 57% on 15mg lost at least 20%.2
The dose that suits you is something to agree with your prescriber, not to pick on price alone.
10 · Saving money safely
How to cut the cost without taking risks
The safe ways to lower your Mounjaro cost are to compare verified UK pharmacies and use new-customer and reorder discounts. Unsafe shortcuts can cost you far more in health than they save in money.
Do use the discounts. A new-customer discount applies to first orders and a reorder discount to every future order.
You can also see our page on the cheapest country to buy Mounjaro and the page on the starting-dose Mounjaro price.
11 · Counterfeits and ordering
Counterfeit pens: the real cost of a cheap price
The MHRA has seized thousands of fake weight-loss pens in the UK and has issued alerts after falsified Mounjaro pens were identified.7 Fake pens have caused hospitalisations, and some contained insulin rather than tirzepatide.7 Only buy from a pharmacy you can verify on the GPhC register, never from social media, beauty salons or unverified websites. Genuine treatment always involves a prescription and a clinical consultation.12
Genuine UK stock is supplied through Lilly's official distribution to licensed pharmacies, and every pen carries a batch number and expiry date that can be checked. A genuine pen arrives cold-chain packaged, and the solution inside is clear and colourless. Do not use a pen that has been frozen, looks cloudy or discoloured, has particles in it, is past its expiry, has been above 30°C, or has been out of the fridge for more than 30 days in use.13 If supply or packaging ever seems wrong, check the pharmacy on the GPhC register and contact the pharmacy before injecting.
Anyone offering to supply without a consultation or prescription is a warning sign, however low the price.
How ordering works with EverydayMeds

Browse all weight loss treatments if you want to compare options before ordering.
12 · Alternatives to consider
Alternatives to Mounjaro
The main licensed alternatives to Mounjaro are Wegovy (semaglutide) and daily liraglutide products, and the decision belongs with your prescriber. Wegovy comes as pens of 0.25mg, 0.5mg, 1mg, 1.7mg and 2.4mg once weekly. The dose steps up after at least four weeks, reaching the 2.4mg maintenance dose from week 17, which is the licensed maintenance dose for weight management.18 Your first Wegovy pen costs £99.99 as a first-order price.
Liraglutide, sold as Saxenda and in other products, is supplied at 6mg per millilitre. It is a daily injection, unlike once-weekly Mounjaro and Wegovy. Wegovy tablets and Foundayo are once-daily tablet options; check current tablet prices before you order.
Mounjaro's dual GIP and GLP-1 action distinguishes it from single-action medicines such as semaglutide.1 Do not compare trial results across different studies as if they were head to head. SURMOUNT-5 is the first large head-to-head trial of tirzepatide and semaglutide for weight loss, and your prescriber can explain how it applies to you.
Low-cost supplements sold as "natural" weight-loss aids are not alternatives in a clinical sense. They are cheap to buy without assessment, carry no clinical oversight, and their dosing is not standardised.
How ordering works
How ordering works at EverydayMeds
Three steps, with our pharmacy team alongside you.
Step 1: Online consultation — 5–10 minutes
Complete a confidential health questionnaire covering BMI, medical history and current medication. No payment is taken until you're approved.
Step 2: Prescriber review — usually same day
A UK registered prescriber checks your suitability against the licensed criteria (BMI ≥30, or ≥27 with a weight-related condition) and contraindications, and confirms your starting dose.
Step 3: Next-day tracked delivery
Dispensed by our GPhC-registered pharmacy in temperature-controlled packaging with needles and a sharps bin included. Orders approved by 3pm for next-day tracked delivery.
Prescription and dispatch follow clinical approval. Confirm current delivery options when ordering.
Afterwards you're not on your own: dose-change reviews are built in before each step up, our pharmacist team is available for side-effect questions, and repeat orders re-check suitability rather than auto-shipping.
