How To Get 3.75 Out Of A 2.5 Mounjaro Pen (October 2026)
You can't safely get a 3.75 dose out of a 2.5mg Mounjaro pen. The KwikPen is set by the number in its dose window, will not dial past the medicine left inside, and the licensed ladder goes 2.5mg then 5mg. Altering doses outside the licence means unknown dosing accuracy and no safety data.1 Current as of October 2026.

A quick overview
What to know
before you start.
-
A 2.5mg pen cannot safely be used to make an in-between dose; the pen only delivers what its window shows.
-
The licensed ladder runs 2.5mg, then 5mg after at least 4 weeks, then steps of 2.5mg.
-
Splitting or combining pens is off-licence, with unknown dosing accuracy and no safety data.
-
If 5mg feels like too big a jump, your prescriber can hold 2.5mg longer within the licence.
-
Never count clicks: confirm the dose only by the number in the window.
In this guide
01 · The answer
Can you take a dose between 2.5mg and 5mg?
No. The licensed ladder is 2.5mg for at least 4 weeks, then 5mg, then steps of 2.5mg at minimum 4-week intervals up to 15mg.1 There is no in-between strength, and an in-between dose is not something the pen is built to give.
The KwikPen is set by turning the dose knob until the correct dose shows in the window. You confirm the dose by that number, never by counting clicks. The pen will not let you dial past the medicine left inside, and if the window will not turn to a full dose, the pen does not hold enough for one and should not be used for a partial injection.13
02 · Safe options
What to do if 5mg feels like too much
Talk to your prescriber. They can hold you on 2.5mg for longer, or step you down within the licence, if side effects are the concern.1 Higher is not automatically better, and many people settle at 5mg, 10mg or 15mg.
| Approach | Status |
|---|---|
| Stay on 2.5mg longer | Within the licence, prescriber-guided |
| Move to 5mg after at least 4 weeks | Standard licensed step |
| Draw part-doses from two pens | Not licensed; unknown accuracy |
Our prescribing team offers ongoing monthly reviews and dose-titration support. A free consultation is reviewed by a GPhC-registered prescriber. The Mounjaro pen is in stock at all six doses, and the 2.5mg pen costs £169.99 per month at standard price. New customers save £40 on their first order with code FIRST40. 03 · Why splitting pens is unsafe
Why splitting pens is unsafe
Taking smaller or more spread-out doses than the pen is designed to deliver is called microdosing. It is not licensed, not supported by the pen's design and not endorsed by any UK regulator.1
Each pen contains four weekly doses. Trying to extract medicine from one pen to top up another is unsafe: it means unknown dosing accuracy and no safety data. If a pen sticks, read how to unjam a Mounjaro pen.
04 · Injecting and pen basics
Injecting and pen basics
Mounjaro is injected under the skin once a week, on the same day each week, at any time of day, with or without food. Licensed sites are the stomach area (at least 5cm from the belly button), the front of the thigh, or the back of the upper arm if someone else gives the injection. Rotate the site with each dose.1
If you miss a dose, take it within 4 days (96 hours) of the scheduled time; after that, skip it and take the next on your normal day. Never take two doses within 3 days of each other.1 Priming steps are in the leaflet that comes with your pen; follow it, and ask the pharmacy if you forgot.13
How ordering works
How ordering works at EverydayMeds
Three steps, with our pharmacy team alongside you.
Step 1: Online consultation — 5–10 minutes
Complete a confidential health questionnaire covering BMI, medical history and current medication. No payment is taken until you're approved.
Step 2: Prescriber review — usually same day
A UK registered prescriber checks your suitability against the licensed criteria (BMI ≥30, or ≥27 with a weight-related condition) and contraindications, and confirms your starting dose.
Step 3: Next-day tracked delivery
Dispensed by our GPhC-registered pharmacy in temperature-controlled packaging with needles and a sharps bin included. Orders approved by 3pm for next-day tracked delivery.
Prescription and dispatch follow clinical approval. Confirm current delivery options when ordering.
Afterwards you're not on your own: dose-change reviews are built in before each step up, our pharmacist team is available for side-effect questions, and repeat orders re-check suitability rather than auto-shipping.
