01 · Price
What one month of Mounjaro costs in the UK
One month of Mounjaro is one pen, and the price of that pen depends on the strength you are prescribed. We sell the Mounjaro pen in all six strengths, and every pen is a 4-week supply. The standard prices are £169.99 at 2.5mg, £218.99 at 5mg, £279.99 at 7.5mg, £290.99 at 10mg, £319.99 at 12.5mg and £329.99 at 15mg. Prices checked 11 October 2026.
Those are the standard prices, which is what every repeat order starts from. A new customer gets £40 off their first order at any dose with code FIRST40. That includes people switching to us from another provider at a higher dose. After that, every future order gets an automatic £25 off the standard price (code DOSE25). So your ongoing monthly cost at any dose is that dose's standard price less £25.
Your first 2.5mg pen costs £129.99 with code FIRST40 (standard price £169.99). If you are switching to us at 15mg, your first order is £289.99. These are first-order prices only, so the new-customer discount is already inside them.
02 · What you pay for
What the price includes
The price shown is the price paid, and the consultation is free. You complete a short online health questionnaire at no charge and with no obligation. A GPhC-registered prescriber then reviews it; this is a person making a clinical decision, not a scoring script. Payment is taken when you place the order; if the prescriber decides the treatment is not suitable, the order is refunded automatically in full.
Once approved, your pen is dispensed by our registered pharmacy. We dispatch the same day when you order by 3pm. Delivery is free, next-day, tracked (DPD) and sent in temperature-controlled, discreet packaging. Saturday delivery is £14.99. Needles, a sharps bin and injection guidance come with every order. Ongoing monthly reviews, dose-titration support and side-effect support from the prescribing team are part of the service too.
We supply through official LillyDirect supply, which means Mounjaro comes direct from Eli Lilly's UK distribution as genuine KwikPens. You can pay by Visa or Mastercard, or use Klarna and pay-monthly options. There are no subscriptions, and repeat orders re-check your suitability rather than shipping automatically.
| Stage | Pens | What it covers | Cost at standard prices |

| First year if you settle at 15mg | 13 | 52 weeks of treatment | £3,599.88 |
These totals are at standard prices, before discounts. A new customer's first order is £40 less and every later order is £25 less. If you would like to see whether Mounjaro is suitable for you, you can start your free consultation, and you will see the live price for your dose before you pay.
03 · Next step
How to get your first month's supply
Getting a first month's supply takes three steps. First, you complete the free online consultation. Second, a GPhC-registered prescriber reviews your answers and decides whether Mounjaro is suitable. Third, if approved, we dispense and dispatch your pen, with free next-day tracked delivery. Most people begin on the 2.5mg starter pen, because the first weeks are an adjustment phase before the dose is stepped up.
If you want to compare how supply works over several months, our guides cover a 1 month supply of Mounjaro, a 2 month supply, and whether you can get a 3 month supply.
04 · What a month contains
What one month of Mounjaro actually contains
A month's supply of Mounjaro is one pre-filled KwikPen, and that pen is designed to last four weeks of once-weekly injections. Mounjaro is the brand name for tirzepatide, a once-weekly injectable prescription medicine made by Eli Lilly. In the UK it is licensed for weight management in adults and for type 2 diabetes.1 It comes as a pre-filled multi-dose pen in six strengths: 2.5mg, 5mg, 7.5mg, 10mg, 12.5mg and 15mg.1
You do not buy a pen per dose. Each pen holds the four weekly doses for that strength, and when it is finished you move on to the next pen, either at the same strength or at a higher one if your prescriber has agreed a step-up.
The monthly price rises as you move up the dose ladder, from £169.99 at 2.5mg to £329.99 at 15mg at standard prices.
How it works
Tirzepatide is the first treatment of its kind to activate two natural gut-hormone receptors at once: GIP and GLP-1. Together these help regulate appetite, slow how quickly the stomach empties, and improve the way the body responds to insulin.1 In practice, most people feel fuller sooner and less hungry between meals, which supports a reduced-calorie diet. This dual action is what distinguishes Mounjaro from single-action GLP-1 medicines such as semaglutide (Wegovy/Ozempic).
Understanding that mechanism helps explain why the medicine is taken weekly and in steps. The body needs time to adjust to each strength, so you do not start at the top. The starter pen is there to let your system adapt before the dose rises.
What happens when you stop
Tirzepatide has a half-life of about five days, so after a final dose it takes roughly 4–5 weeks to clear the system. There is no way to speed this up, and nothing needs doing while it clears.1 This matters for planning: if you decide not to reorder, the last pen's effect does not stop on the day the pen is empty, but fades over the following weeks. Mounjaro manages weight; it does not cure the biology behind it. In SURMOUNT-4, people who stopped tirzepatide after 36 weeks regained on average 14% of body weight over the following year, while those who continued treatment lost a further 5.5% on average. Stopping should always be planned with your prescriber, with diet and activity habits ready to carry the load.
Keeping track of pens
Because each pen is four weekly doses, a simple calendar works well. Many people note the injection day, count four doses, and reorder in good time so that there is no gap. Our free companion app, GLPTrackr (iOS and Android), is built for tracking a GLP-1 journey, including your doses. Repeat orders re-check your suitability and are never shipped automatically, so you stay in control of when the next pen arrives. For a deeper look at availability, our Mounjaro supply guide explains how stock and supply work.
In short: one month, one pen, four weekly injections, and a price that follows the strength.
05 · How many months
Mounjaro: how many months do people take it?
There is no fixed number of months that applies to everyone, because the right length of treatment is a decision between you and your prescriber. The strengths run 2.5mg, 5mg, 7.5mg, 10mg, 12.5mg and 15mg, and if you step up after 4 weeks on each dose, your first four pens (2.5mg to 10mg) cost £959.96 at standard prices before discounts.
Some people settle at a lower strength; others step further up. Your prescriber reviews your response and tolerance at each stage.
What the main trial measured
The headline efficacy figures come from SURMOUNT-1. In this trial of 2,539 adults, people taking tirzepatide alongside diet and exercise lost on average 15% of their body weight on 5mg, 19.5% on 10mg and 20.9% on 15mg over 72 weeks, compared with 3.1% with lifestyle changes alone.2 These are trial averages, and individual results vary. Treatment works alongside a reduced-calorie diet and increased physical activity, not instead of them.
At 72 weeks, 85% of participants on 5mg, 89% on 10mg and 91% on 15mg had lost at least 5% of their body weight. Half of participants on 10mg and 57% on 15mg lost at least 20% of their body weight.2
As a worked example only: for someone starting at 100 kg, 20.9% is about 21 kg. That is straight arithmetic on the trial average, and your own result may be higher or lower.
Think in months, not days
Weight loss on Mounjaro is gradual by design. The first weeks on 2.5mg are an adjustment phase and losses are usually modest. Most measurable progress builds from 5mg onward, month by month. Trials measured results at 72 weeks, so think in months, not days, and judge progress by trend rather than individual weigh-ins.2
Reviewing your response
Treatment response is reviewed by your prescriber. If you have lost less than 5% of your starting weight after 6 months on the highest dose you can tolerate, your prescriber will discuss whether continuing or stopping is right for you.1 That review point is part of why we include ongoing monthly clinical reviews with the service.
Buying one month at a time or more
People asking "how many months" are often asking how far ahead they can buy. Our pages on a 6 month supply of Mounjaro and on a 3 month supply go through that question in detail. The short version is that each order goes through prescriber review, repeat orders re-check suitability, and the dose you need next month depends on how you respond this month. Paying in smaller steps, with Klarna or pay-monthly options and no subscription, lets you adjust as your dose changes.
06 · A year of costs
Planning the cost of a full year
A first year of Mounjaro costs £2,711.88 if you settle at 5mg, and up to £3,599.88 if you settle at 15mg, at standard prices before discounts. A year here means 52 weeks, which is 13 pens.
Remember that discounts reduce the real figure. A new customer's first order is £40 less at any dose with code FIRST40, and every later order is £25 less than the standard price, applied automatically (code DOSE25). So the standard-price totals are a ceiling for planning, and your actual spend will be lower.
If you settle at a middle dose
Not everyone ends up at 5mg or 15mg. For other maintenance strengths, the simplest way to plan is to take that dose's monthly price: £279.99 at 7.5mg, £290.99 at 10mg and £319.99 at 12.5mg.
Why the first months cost less than the later ones
If you step up after 4 weeks on each dose, your first four pens (2.5mg to 10mg) cost £959.96 at standard prices. If you are then prescribed a higher strength, each month costs more at standard prices. If you stay at a lower strength, your monthly cost stays lower. Your prescriber chooses the dose on clinical grounds, not on price.
A simple planning method
- Pick the maintenance strength you are most likely to need, and take its monthly price.
- Count the remaining pens in a 52-week year: 13 in total.
- Subtract the discounts that apply: £40 on the first order, £25 on each later one.
That method is arithmetic only. It assumes you stay on one strength after titration and that your prescriber agrees to continue. It is also worth remembering that treatment is reviewed along the way, so a budget is a plan and not a commitment.
Paying in steps
You are not asked to pay a year upfront. There are no subscriptions, so you only order the pen you need next. Klarna and pay-monthly options can spread a pen's cost. For the wider monthly picture, see how much a month supply of Mounjaro costs, which sets out the same dose ladder from the price side. Compare totals only on a like-for-like basis: the same dose, the same number of pens, and the price checked on the same date.
If you are weighing a Mounjaro budget against other approaches, our all weight loss treatments page lists the options we offer, so you can see them side by side.
07 · NHS and private
NHS or private: which route gets you a month's supply?
Mounjaro is available on the NHS, but access is being phased in over several years. NICE recommends it for adults with a BMI of at least 35 plus at least one weight-related condition, and the NHS primary-care rollout began in June 2025 with the highest-need groups first, initially BMI 40+ with four or more qualifying conditions.46 Full rollout is expected to take years, which is why many people who meet the licensed criteria choose regulated private treatment rather than waiting.5
If you are on the NHS pathway and you receive Mounjaro on prescription in England, the cost to you is the standard NHS prescription charge of £9.90 per item, unless you are exempt. Your GP or local weight-management service can tell you whether you are in a group currently being offered treatment. If you are not yet in one of those groups, a private prescription is the other route.
Who the licence covers
For private prescribing, Mounjaro is licensed for weight management in adults with a BMI of 30 or above, or a BMI between 27 and 30 with at least one weight-related condition such as high blood pressure, high cholesterol, obstructive sleep apnoea, cardiovascular disease, prediabetes or type 2 diabetes.1 It must be used alongside a reduced-calorie diet and increased physical activity. A prescriber will assess your BMI, medical history and current medicines before deciding whether it is suitable for you.
That assessment is the key point. Nobody is entitled to a month's supply simply by paying. The licence, your health history and your other medicines all feed into the prescriber's decision, and that is true on the NHS and privately.
What private treatment looks like with us
The private route with us begins with a free online consultation. A GPhC-registered prescriber reviews it. If Mounjaro is not suitable, the order is refunded automatically in full. If it is suitable, we dispense through our registered pharmacy, and you can check our registration on the GPhC register (registration 9012878).12
Our support team is available Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm, by email at support@everydaymeds.co.uk, through the account portal chat, or by phone on 0333 207 0413. Aftercare includes ongoing monthly reviews, dose-titration and follow-up assessments, and side-effect support.
Why prices in the UK moved
If you have noticed that prices vary between pharmacies, one factor is the manufacturer's list price. Eli Lilly announced a UK list-price increase for Mounjaro that took effect in September 2025.10 Pharmacy sell prices differ because of confidential discounts, so the price on a pharmacy's page is its own and needs checking at the time. Ours are shown live and dated, and the date is 11 October 2026.
The honest summary is this: the NHS route costs the prescription charge but is limited by the phased rollout, and the private route costs the pen price but is available to adults who meet the licence and pass a prescriber review.
08 · By three months
What to expect after three months of pens
Three months of Mounjaro, meaning three pens, usually sits on the lower rungs of the dose ladder, so the results are modest compared with the headline trial figures. In SURMOUNT-1, average weight loss built month by month, with the full 15–21% averages measured at 72 weeks, not at 12.2 A sensible 3-month expectation on a standard titration is mid single digits as a percentage of body weight, with wide individual variation.
That is a pace, not a target. Slower early progress does not predict failure, because the dose you respond to may still be ahead of you.
The first weeks on 2.5mg
The 2.5mg starting weeks are about adjustment, and experiences differ widely. Some people notice appetite change and early loss in week one; others feel little until a higher dose. Both are normal.1 Early loss includes water weight, so the trend over weeks matters more than any single weigh-in.
Mild nausea, altered appetite and tiredness in the first days after each injection are the commonest early effects, and they usually settle. If you have any new or lasting symptom, tell your prescriber. You can also report suspected side effects through the MHRA Yellow Card scheme.19 Serious side effects are uncommon but need urgent attention. Seek immediate medical help for: severe, persistent stomach pain that may spread to your back, with or without vomiting (possible pancreatitis); pain in the upper right abdomen, fever or yellowing of skin/eyes (possible gallbladder problems); or signs of a severe allergic reaction such as swelling of the face or throat and difficulty breathing.
Beyond the scales
In trials, weight loss on tirzepatide came with average improvements in waist size, blood pressure, cholesterol and blood-sugar measures, and most participants with prediabetes returned to normal blood-sugar levels.2 These are trial-average secondary outcomes, not promises. They are why prescribers talk about weight management as health management rather than appearance, and why a three-month review looks at more than the number on the scale.
Judging three months fairly
- Look at the trend over several weeks rather than one weigh-in.
- Note appetite, portions and energy as well as weight.
- Remember that three pens usually means you have not reached your maintenance dose yet.
- Ask your prescriber at the monthly review whether a step-up suits you.
If you are curious what a single month looks like, our guide to Mounjaro before and after one month sets expectations for the very start. The most useful habit across all of these timelines is patience: treatment works alongside a reduced-calorie diet and increased physical activity, and the changes build over months.
From a cost point of view, three months at the early strengths is the lower-cost phase of the course. After that, the price depends on where your prescriber agrees you should be.
09 · Plateaus and cautions
Plateaus, and what to avoid while taking Mounjaro
A plateau of a few weeks is normal on Mounjaro, and it is not a reason to change your dose on your own. Weight loss on the medicine is not linear, and plateaus are expected as the body adapts to a lower weight. Within the licence, the responses are practical ones: review food intake honestly (portions drift back up), protect protein and activity, check the basics such as sleep and alcohol, and discuss with your prescriber whether a dose step-up is appropriate if you are not yet at maximum.
A plateau is not a reason to double doses or add unlicensed products. Do not alter the dose, the schedule or the pen yourself, and do not add other products promising dramatic weight-loss claims on top.
Using it as licensed
Mounjaro must be used alongside a reduced-calorie diet and increased physical activity.1 It is not a substitute for them. The medicine helps most people feel fuller sooner and less hungry between meals, which makes a reduced-calorie diet easier to follow, but the diet and activity are part of the treatment.
Your prescriber assesses your medical history and current medicines before deciding it is suitable. If your health or your medicines change, tell them. Follow the pen's instructions for injecting.
When to speak to your prescriber
- You have lost less than expected and are unsure whether to continue.
- You experience symptoms that are not described in the patient information leaflet.
- You are starting or stopping other medicines.
- Your plateau has lasted longer than a few weeks.
For any new symptom that no leaflet covers, the safe route is to tell your prescriber and report it through Yellow Card.19 Do not assume a new symptom is caused by the medicine, and do not assume it is not.
Why this matters for cost
Staying within the licence, with prescriber review, protects your health and keeps your spending predictable. Each pen is one prescribed month, bought through a regulated route, with a review before you step up.
If you have lost less than 5% of your starting weight after 6 months on the highest dose you can tolerate, your prescriber will discuss whether continuing or stopping is right for you. That conversation is part of the service, and it protects you from paying for months of treatment that may not suit you.
10 · Ordering and supply
How ordering works, and how to check supply is genuine
Ordering a month's supply takes three steps and starts with a free consultation. You complete a short health questionnaire online, which carries no charge and no obligation. A GPhC-registered prescriber reviews it. If approved, our registered pharmacy dispenses and dispatches your pen, and delivery is free, next-day and tracked.
- Consultation: short questionnaire, free, no obligation.
- Prescriber review: a GPhC-registered prescriber decides whether Mounjaro is suitable. Payment is taken when you place the order; if the prescriber decides the treatment is not suitable, the order is refunded automatically in full.
- Dispensing and dispatch: same-day dispatch when you order by 3pm.
- Delivery: free next-day tracked delivery by DPD in temperature-controlled, discreet packaging. Saturday delivery is £14.99.
You can start your free consultation whenever you are ready. The live price for your dose is shown before you pay, and the price shown is the price paid, with no hidden fees.
Genuine pens
Our supply is official LillyDirect supply: Mounjaro direct from Eli Lilly's UK distribution, as genuine KwikPens. All six doses, from 2.5mg to 15mg, are in stock. The MHRA publishes counterfeit medicine alerts and runs the Yellow Card scheme.7
Practical checks when you buy from any seller:
- Look up the pharmacy on the GPhC register and match the registration number.
- Be wary of anyone offering to supply without a consultation or prescription.
- Be wary of sellers who promise specific results.
- Check that the pen arrives sealed, with the patient information leaflet.
Refunds and returns
Declined consultations are refunded automatically in full. Dispensed prescription medicines cannot be returned unless the item is faulty, damaged or wrong; contact us within 3 days in that case. Refunds take 5–10 working days.
Repeat orders
Repeat orders re-check your suitability. We do not auto-ship, so you decide when the next pen is dispatched. That is deliberate: your dose may change, and your health may change, so each order is a fresh decision. Support is available Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm, on 0333 207 0413 or at support@everydaymeds.co.uk.
Payment can be by Visa or Mastercard, Klarna or a pay-monthly option, and nothing is a subscription. For wider context on how to buy safely, our Mounjaro supply UK guide goes further.
11 · Comparing pharmacy prices
Comparing the price of a month's supply across pharmacies
Across the UK pharmacies we track, a month's Mounjaro pen ranges from £143.96 to £339.00 depending on dose and provider (checked 11 October 2026). That range covers every dose, so it is not a starting-dose price. For the 2.5mg starting pen alone, the cheapest and dearest we track are £143.96 and £179.99.
For the same dose, the gap between providers is not small. Across the pharmacies we track, the smallest gap between providers for the same dose is £27, and the largest is £41. In other words, the provider you choose affects what you pay.
Boots and supermarket pharmacies
People often ask about specific names such as Asda Pharmacy. For Boots, our index shows its Mounjaro dose prices running from £179.00 at the lowest to £339.00 at the highest, as checked 11 October 2026.
Compare like with like. A fair comparison uses the same strength, the same pen (a 4-week supply) and the same date. Check whether a quoted price is a first-order price or a repeat price, and whether a consultation or delivery fee is added on top.
What our prices look like
Our standard prices run from £169.99 at 2.5mg to £329.99 at 15mg. A new customer's first order is £40 less, with code FIRST40, and every later order is £25 less. The consultation is free and delivery is free next-day. Our prices are shown live and dated 11 October 2026, so you can see what is current.
Questions worth asking any pharmacy
- Is the pharmacy on the GPhC register, and is the number visible?
- Is the supplier official, with genuine KwikPens?
- Does a prescriber review each order, including repeats?
- Are there extra charges for consultation, delivery or follow-up?
- What happens if the prescriber declines the order?
The lowest sticker price is only useful if the supply is regulated and the service is complete. Ongoing monthly reviews, titration support and side-effect support all have value that a headline figure does not show.
Choosing treatment, not just a price
Mounjaro is one of several licensed options. If you want to compare it with other treatments before choosing, our all weight loss treatments page is a good place to start. For Wegovy, the first pen price from us is £99.99 as a first-order figure, and its dose ladder runs 0.25mg, 0.5mg, 1mg, 1.7mg and 2.4mg, stepping up after at least 4 weeks to reach 2.4mg from week 17.
Whichever route you choose, a prescriber reviews you along the way and decides what suits you.
How ordering works
How ordering works at EverydayMeds
Three steps, with our pharmacy team alongside you.

Complete a confidential health questionnaire covering BMI, medical history and current medication. No payment is taken until you're approved.
Step 2: Prescriber review — usually same day
A UK registered prescriber checks your suitability against the licensed criteria (BMI ≥30, or ≥27 with a weight-related condition) and contraindications, and confirms your starting dose.
Step 3: Next-day tracked delivery
Dispensed by our GPhC-registered pharmacy in temperature-controlled packaging with needles and a sharps bin included. Orders approved by 3pm for next-day tracked delivery.
Prescription and dispatch follow clinical approval. Confirm current delivery options when ordering.
Afterwards you're not on your own: dose-change reviews are built in before each step up, our pharmacist team is available for side-effect questions, and repeat orders re-check suitability rather than auto-shipping.
