The KwikPen has a dose knob and a window, and the window is your only reliable guide. Turn the knob until the dose indicator shows your prescribed dose, then inject. The number in the window is the measurement; the sound or feel of the mechanism is not.¹³

Each pen contains four weekly doses; the pen will not let you dial past the medicine left inside.¹³

If the window will not turn to a full dose, the pen does not contain enough for one and should not be used for a partial injection.¹³ Do not top up the shortfall from another pen, and do not carry on with whatever the pen will let you dial.

Good routine matters more than any adjustment. Mounjaro is injected under the skin (subcutaneously) once a week, on the same day each week, at any time of day, with or without food.¹³ Rotate the site with each dose.

If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you can within 4 days (96 hours) of the scheduled time, then carry on with your usual day. If more than 4 days have passed, skip the missed dose entirely and take the next one on your normal day — never take two doses within 3 days of each other.¹³ You can also change your injection day, as long as at least 3 days (72 hours) have passed since your last dose.¹³

For storage, keep Mounjaro pens in a fridge at 2–8°C and never freeze them. Once in use, a pen can be kept out of the fridge at a temperature not above 30°C for up to 30 days after first use — useful for short trips — and must then be thrown away.¹³ Do not use a pen that has been above 30°C or has been frozen.
