How Long Will Mounjaro Be Out of Stock? (October 2026)

There is no fixed date for when a Mounjaro stock gap ends, because gaps are usually dose-specific and vary by pharmacy. At EverydayMeds all six doses (2.5mg to 15mg) are currently in stock, with the 2.5mg starting pen at £169.99 standard price. If your pharmacy is short, check another registered pharmacy for your dose. Prices checked 11 October 2026.

A quick overview

What to know
before you start.

  • No one can give a reliable end date for a stock gap; it depends on the dose and the individual pharmacy.
  • At EverydayMeds all six doses are in stock as of October 2026.
  • If your usual pen is unavailable, ask your prescriber before changing dose; never stretch or split doses.
  • Missing a dose has a clear rule: take it within 4 days, otherwise skip it.
  • Be wary of anyone offering to supply without a consultation or prescription.
In this guide

01 · The honest answer

How long will a Mounjaro stock gap last?

A gap at one pharmacy may reflect that pharmacy's own ordering rather than a national problem, so the practical answer is to check another supplier the same day.

We source Mounjaro through official LillyDirect supply, direct from Eli Lilly's UK distribution, and stock all six doses. Right now they are in stock. You can check live availability and prices on the Mounjaro pen page.

02 · Next steps

What to do if your dose is unavailable

Speak to your prescriber first, because the right move depends on where you are on the dose ladder. Everyone starts on 2.5mg; the dose rises after at least 4 weeks to 5mg, then in 2.5mg steps at minimum 4-week intervals, up to 15mg.1 Your prescriber can advise on timing and whether any change is appropriate.

SituationSensible approach
Your pharmacy is short of your doseCheck another registered pharmacy for the same dose
You are tempted to split or stretch a penDo not; this is outside the licence and unsafe
You are due a dose within daysFollow the missed-dose rule and contact your prescriber
Offered a pen with no consultationAvoid; this is a counterfeit risk

03 · Switching provider

Switching provider mid-treatment

If you move to us at any dose, you start with a free online consultation reviewed by a GPhC-registered prescriber. New customers save £40 on their first order with code FIRST40, and an automatic £25 reorder discount applies to every future order (code DOSE25). You can start your free consultation online; same-day dispatch applies when ordered by 3pm, with free next-day tracked delivery.

04 · If you miss a dose

If a gap makes you miss a dose

Take a missed dose as soon as you can within 4 days (96 hours) of the scheduled time, then carry on as usual.1 If more than 4 days have passed, skip it and take the next dose on your normal day. Never take two doses within 3 days of each other.13

You can also change your injection day, provided at least 3 days (72 hours) have passed since your last dose.1

05 · Why not stretch doses

Why you should not stretch or split pens

Stretching or splitting pens is not licensed and not supported by the pen's design or any UK regulator. It means unknown dosing accuracy and no safety data.

06 · Stopping and clearing

What happens during a longer break

Tirzepatide has a half-life of about five days, so after a final dose it takes roughly 4–5 weeks to clear the system. There is no way to speed this up.1

If a break is likely, talk to your prescriber about how to restart safely rather than resuming at your old dose yourself.

07 · Storage of pens you hold

Storing pens while you wait

Keep pens in a fridge at 2–8°C and never freeze them. Once in use, a pen can stay out of the fridge not above 30°C for up to 30 days, then it should be discarded.1 Unopened pens keep until the expiry date on the box. For an unopened pen that has been out of the fridge, check with the pharmacy before using it. See our guide on how long Mounjaro can be out of the fridge.13

08 · Price and counterfeit risk

Shortages, prices and counterfeit risk

Across the UK pharmacies we track, Mounjaro pens range from £143.96 to £339.00 (checked 11 October 2026). Read more on how much Mounjaro will be.

Gaps are when scams appear. Only buy from a registered pharmacy and be wary of anyone offering to supply without a consultation or prescription. The MHRA publishes counterfeit alerts and runs the Yellow Card scheme.7 You can verify us on the GPhC register (9012878).12

How ordering works

How ordering works at EverydayMeds

Three steps, with our pharmacy team alongside you.

  1. EverydayMeds online consultation on a mobile phone

    Step 1: Online consultation — 5–10 minutes

Complete a confidential health questionnaire covering BMI, medical history and current medication. No payment is taken until you're approved.

  2. A clinician ready to review an online consultation

Step 2: Prescriber review — usually same day

A UK registered prescriber checks your suitability against the licensed criteria (BMI ≥30, or ≥27 with a weight-related condition) and contraindications, and confirms your starting dose.

  3. An EverydayMeds delivery box

    Step 3: Next-day tracked delivery

Dispensed by our GPhC-registered pharmacy in temperature-controlled packaging with needles and a sharps bin included. Orders approved by 3pm for next-day tracked delivery.

Start your free consultation

Prescription and dispatch follow clinical approval. Confirm current delivery options when ordering.

Afterwards you're not on your own: dose-change reviews are built in before each step up, our pharmacist team is available for side-effect questions, and repeat orders re-check suitability rather than auto-shipping.

Your questions, answered

Mounjaro price UK — frequently asked questions

Answers to common questions about Mounjaro prices, NHS access and ongoing treatment.

Ask our pharmacy team
Is Mounjaro still in shortage?
Gaps tend to vary by dose and pharmacy, so there is no single national answer. At EverydayMeds all six doses from 2.5mg to 15mg are in stock as of October 2026. If your usual pharmacy is short, check another registered supplier and ask your prescriber before changing anything about your dose.
Will I still be able to get tirzepatide?
Yes, tirzepatide (Mounjaro) is available privately through registered UK pharmacies after a consultation reviewed by a GPhC-registered prescriber, and on the NHS where access is being phased in over several years. Check live availability on our Mounjaro pen page.
Can I eventually get off tirzepatide?
That is a decision for you and your prescriber. Tirzepatide takes roughly 4–5 weeks to clear after a final dose, and treatment response is reviewed regularly. Many people settle at a maintenance dose of 5mg, 10mg or 15mg. Do not stop or change dose without discussing it first.
How does tirzepatide compare with Ozempic?
Tirzepatide activates two gut-hormone receptors, GIP and GLP-1, whereas semaglutide (Wegovy) is single-action. Ozempic is semaglutide licensed for type 2 diabetes only; it is not a UK weight-loss medicine. SURMOUNT-5, the first large head-to-head trial, compared tirzepatide with semaglutide 2.4mg (Wegovy) for weight loss. Which suits you depends on your health and your prescriber's assessment.
What is the bad side of tirzepatide?
The commonest early effects are mild nausea, altered appetite and tiredness in the first days after each injection, which usually settle. Discuss any new or persistent symptoms with your prescriber, and report side effects through the MHRA Yellow Card scheme. Seek immediate medical help for severe, persistent stomach pain that may spread to your back, with or without vomiting (possible pancreatitis); pain in the upper right abdomen, fever or yellowing of skin or eyes (possible gallbladder problems); or signs of a severe allergic reaction such as swelling of the face or throat and difficulty breathing.
What should I do if I miss a dose because of a stock gap?
Take the missed dose as soon as you can within 4 days (96 hours) of the scheduled time. If more than 4 days have passed, skip it and take the next dose on your usual day. Never take two doses within 3 days of each other.
Can I use a pen that has been out of the fridge?
An in-use pen can stay not above 30°C for up to 30 days, then should be discarded. For an unopened pen that has been out of the fridge, check with the pharmacy or the patient information leaflet rather than relying on a remembered day limit.
