A quick overview

What to know
before you start.

  • "GLP-1 bundle" has no fixed meaning: it can be prescription pens, a planner or app, or supplements. Only prescription pens are licensed medicines.
  • If you step up after 4 weeks on each dose, your first four pens (2.5mg, 5mg, 7.5mg, 10mg) cost £959.96 at standard prices before discounts.
  • A first year costs £2,711.88 if you stay on 5mg after your 2.5mg starting pen, up to £3,599.88 if you step up through every dose to 15mg, before discounts.
  • Prescription pens need a free online consultation reviewed by a GPhC-registered prescriber; no bundle replaces that assessment.
  • Supplement "GLP-1" stacks are low-cost, have no clinical oversight and are not equivalent to prescription tirzepatide.
In this guide

01 · Decision guide

Which GLP-1 bundle is worth buying?

The only bundle that contains an actual GLP-1-class medicine is a prescription one: pens supplied after a consultation reviewed by a prescriber. Planners, trackers and supplement stacks can support habits, but they do not contain tirzepatide or semaglutide and should never be treated as a substitute for them.

If you want a medicine, the practical bundle is a titration plan. Mounjaro is a once-weekly injection that comes as a KwikPen in six strengths: 2.5mg, 5mg, 7.5mg, 10mg, 12.5mg and 15mg.1 You can see live prices and consultation steps on the Mounjaro pen page.

If you are weighing up different medicines, our guide to all weight loss treatments sets them side by side, and the Wegovy pen is the main single-action alternative. Wegovy's ladder runs 0.25mg, 0.5mg, 1mg, 1.7mg then 2.4mg, stepping up after at least four weeks and reaching the 2.4mg maintenance dose from week 17.18

02 · Costs

What does a prescription GLP-1 bundle cost?

Each Mounjaro pen is priced by strength: £169.99 for 2.5mg, £218.99 for 5mg, £279.99 for 7.5mg, £290.99 for 10mg, £319.99 for 12.5mg and £329.99 for 15mg, each per month (one 4-week pen). The price shown is the price paid, and the consultation is free.

PlanWhat it coversCost at standard prices
First year, staying on 5mg after your 2.5mg starting pen52 weeks, 13 pens£2,711.88
First year, stepping up through every dose to 15mg52 weeks, 13 pens£3,599.88

These totals are before discounts. New customers save £40 on their first order with code FIRST40, at any dose, and an automatic £25 reorder discount applies to every future order (code DOSE25). If you settle on 7.5mg, 10mg or 12.5mg, work from that dose's monthly price rather than a year total.

Across the UK pharmacies we track, a single Mounjaro pen ranges from £143.96 to £339.00 depending on dose and provider (checked 10 October 2026), so it pays to compare like for like by dose.

03 · Ordering

How ordering works

Ordering takes three steps, and payment is taken when you place the order; if the prescriber decides treatment is not suitable, the order is refunded automatically in full.

  • Free online consultation: a short health questionnaire with no charge and no obligation. Start your free consultation.
  • Prescriber review: a GPhC-registered prescriber reviews your answers. Unsuitable orders are refunded automatically.
  • Dispensing and delivery: our registered pharmacy dispenses, with same-day dispatch when ordered by 3pm, then free next-day tracked delivery in temperature-controlled, discreet packaging. Saturday delivery is £14.99.

All six strengths are in stock, supplied through official LillyDirect supply direct from Eli Lilly's UK distribution. Repeat orders re-check suitability, and nothing ships automatically. You can pay by Visa, Mastercard, Klarna or pay-monthly options, with no subscription lock-in.

04 · What bundles mean

What does "GLP-1 bundle" mean?

The phrase is a marketing label, not a clinical term, and it covers at least three different kinds of product. Knowing which kind you are looking at is the single most useful thing you can do before spending anything.

The first kind is a prescription pack. This is a set of pens of a licensed injectable, such as Mounjaro (tirzepatide) or Wegovy (semaglutide), supplied together to cover several weeks or months or to cover the early dose steps. It can only be supplied after a prescriber has assessed you. Our own version is simply a sequence of monthly pens, because each pen is a four-week supply and the dose rises by stages.

The second kind is a digital or printed support pack: meal planners, workout schedules, shopping lists, protein trackers and journals. These can help you stay organised, and some people find routine helpful, but they contain no medicine. If you want an app to log injections, symptoms and measurements, GLPTrackr is our free companion app for iOS and Android.

The third kind is a supplement stack, often named to sound like a prescription drug. These are capsules or powders sold with dramatic weight-loss claims. They are not GLP-1 medicines, they are not assessed by a prescriber, and their dosing is not standardised.

Because the same words describe all three, a licensed medicine and a product with no medical oversight can be sold under the same label. If a listing does not tell you whether a prescriber will review you, treat that as a warning sign rather than a detail to overlook.

We have also written about related bundles, including a support-focused bundle, an optimizer bundle and a strength-focused bundle. Each of them comes back to the same question: does the product contain a licensed medicine, or does it support a routine around one?

As a rule of thumb, ask three questions of any bundle. What is the active ingredient, and is it licensed in the UK? Who reviews your suitability before you receive it? What happens if it is not right for you, and is there a clear refund route? A genuine prescription service answers all three plainly. A pack of printables does not need to, because it contains nothing you swallow or inject, but it also should not claim to work like a medicine.

05 · How tirzepatide works

How the medicine in a prescription bundle works

Tirzepatide, the active ingredient in Mounjaro, is the first treatment of its kind to activate two natural gut-hormone receptors at once: GIP and GLP-1. Together these help regulate appetite, slow how quickly the stomach empties and improve the way the body responds to insulin.1

In practice, most people feel fuller sooner and less hungry between meals, which supports a reduced-calorie diet. That is the key point for anyone shopping for a bundle: the medicine is a tool that works alongside food and activity changes, not a replacement for them.

This dual action is what distinguishes Mounjaro from single-action GLP-1 medicines such as semaglutide (Wegovy and Ozempic). So when people ask whether "GLP-1" and Mounjaro are the same, the honest answer is that Mounjaro belongs to the wider family of gut-hormone medicines but acts on two receptors rather than one. "GLP-1" is the name of one of the hormone pathways, not a brand or a single product.

Mounjaro is a once-weekly injection. That is a practical difference from liraglutide products such as Saxenda, which are daily injections supplied at 6mg per millilitre. A weekly schedule is one reason many people find a multi-week plan easier to manage, because there is a single injection day to remember.

Tirzepatide has a half-life of about five days. After a final dose it takes roughly 4 to 5 weeks to clear the system. There is no way to speed this up, and nothing needs doing while it clears. This matters when you are choosing between a one-off pack and ongoing treatment: the medicine does not switch off the moment you stop injecting, and equally its effects are not permanent.

The pen itself is a pre-filled multi-dose KwikPen. Once in use, a pen can be kept out of the fridge at a temperature not above 30°C for up to 30 days after first use, and must then be thrown away. Unopened pens are stored in the fridge until first use and keep until the printed expiry date. If you have a question about an unopened pen that has been out of the fridge, check the patient information leaflet and ask the pharmacy.13

You will receive needles, a sharps bin and injection guidance with every order, and you should follow the pen's own instructions when injecting. Our team can help with questions as part of ongoing monthly reviews.

06 · Who is eligible

Who can use a prescription GLP-1 bundle?

Mounjaro is licensed for weight management in adults with a BMI of 30 or above, or a BMI between 27 and 30 with at least one weight-related condition. Examples of those conditions include high blood pressure, high cholesterol, obstructive sleep apnoea, cardiovascular disease, prediabetes and type 2 diabetes.1

It must be used alongside a reduced-calorie diet and increased physical activity. A prescriber will assess your BMI, medical history and current medicines before deciding whether it is suitable for you.11 That assessment is the reason a genuine prescription "bundle" cannot be sold off the shelf: it is a clinical decision, made individually.

Mounjaro is not suitable for everyone. You should not take it if you are allergic to tirzepatide or any of its ingredients, and it should not be used during pregnancy or while trying to conceive. Your prescriber will take extra care, or may recommend against treatment, if you have a history of pancreatitis, severe gut or digestive disease, diabetic retinopathy, or gallbladder problems. Always share your full medical history and medicine list during consultation. If you become pregnant during treatment, stop the medicine and tell your prescriber promptly; stop at least one month before trying to conceive. Payment is taken when you place the order; if the prescriber decides the treatment is not suitable, the order is refunded automatically in full.

Two interaction points are worth knowing before you apply. First, Mounjaro slows stomach emptying, which can reduce how well oral contraceptive pills are absorbed. The SmPC advises switching to a non-oral method, or adding a barrier method (such as condoms), for 4 weeks after starting Mounjaro and for 4 weeks after each dose increase.1 Second, if you use insulin or sulfonylureas, your doses may need adjusting because of the risk of low blood sugar. This does not mean the medicines cannot be used together, but it does mean your prescriber needs to know.

If you do not meet the licensed criteria, a bundle is not the right route, and you should not try to get around the criteria by supplying inaccurate details. A service that offers to supply without a consultation or prescription is not operating safely, whatever it calls the product.

If you are unsure whether you qualify, the free consultation is a no-obligation way to find out. You answer a short health questionnaire and a GPhC-registered prescriber reviews it; if the treatment is not suitable, your order is refunded automatically in full. Before that, our guide to what the first month on Mounjaro can look like may help set realistic expectations about the early weeks.

Remember that eligibility is not a one-off check. Repeat orders re-check suitability, and the prescribing team carries out monthly reviews, dose-titration and follow-up assessments. If your circumstances change, for example a new medicine or a new diagnosis, tell the team so your plan can be reviewed.

07 · What results to expect

What results can a GLP-1 plan deliver?

In the SURMOUNT-1 trial of 2,539 adults, people taking tirzepatide alongside diet and exercise lost on average 15% of their body weight on 5mg, 19.5% on 10mg and 20.9% on 15mg over 72 weeks, compared with 3.1% with lifestyle changes alone.2

These are trial averages. Individual results vary, and treatment works alongside a reduced-calorie diet and increased physical activity, not instead of them. Trial averages do not predict your own result.

To make the percentages concrete: for someone starting at 100 kg, 20.9% is about 21 kg, and 15% is about 15 kg. That is straight arithmetic on the trial averages, not a forecast of what you will lose.

The trial also reported how many people reached certain thresholds. At 72 weeks, 85% of participants on 5mg, 89% on 10mg and 91% on 15mg had lost at least 5% of their body weight. Half of participants on 10mg and 57% on 15mg lost at least 20% of their body weight.2

A common question is how much can be lost in three months. Three months in, most people are still on the lower rungs of the dose ladder, so a sensible expectation on a standard titration is mid single digits as a percentage of body weight, with wide individual variation. Early weeks are also spent on the lowest doses, which is how treatment is designed to start.

That is why a bundle sold on the promise of a fast result should make you cautious. Marketing that promises specific results over a short period is making a claim no honest provider can make for you. A better question to ask is whether the plan includes clinical follow-up, dose review and side-effect support.

If you want a picture of what the first month can feel like, including appetite and routine, see our article on Mounjaro before and after one month. It sits alongside the trial data rather than replacing it.

Finally, remember that the SURMOUNT-1 figures come from people on the full trial regimen with lifestyle support. Doses at the start of a plan are lower than those used to produce the headline averages, and not everyone ends up on the highest dose. Your prescriber will tailor the maintenance dose to you.

08 · NHS or private

NHS or private: how do you get a GLP-1 in the UK?

Mounjaro is available on the NHS, but access is being phased in over several years. NICE recommends it for adults with a BMI of at least 35 plus at least one weight-related condition. The NHS primary-care rollout began in June 2025 with the highest-need groups first, initially BMI 40 or above with four or more qualifying conditions.46

Full rollout is expected to take years, which is why many people who meet the licensed criteria choose regulated private treatment rather than waiting. The NHS route and the private route use the same medicine; the difference is who qualifies first and how quickly you can start.

If you think you might qualify on the NHS, speak to your GP first. The NHS guidance on tirzepatide explains the medicine and what to expect from a prescription.5 NHS access to Wegovy runs through specialist weight-management services, so ask your GP about that too.

If you do not meet the NHS criteria yet, or would rather not wait, the private route is a licensed alternative. The licensed private criteria are broader than the early NHS groups: a BMI of 30 or above, or 27 to 30 with a weight-related condition.1 That difference explains why some people qualify privately well before they qualify on the NHS.

Choosing private does not mean cutting your GP out. It is sensible to tell your GP you are starting treatment, and our consultation does not replace your regular care. Equally, choosing the NHS does not stop you from reviewing private options later if the wait is long for you.

Whichever route you choose, the clinical logic is the same: assessment first, a gradual dose increase, regular review, and lifestyle changes alongside the medicine. The main differences are speed, cost and who coordinates your follow-up.

09 · Year cost planning

Planning the cost of a first year

The most useful way to compare bundles is to price a whole year, because a starter pack is only the beginning. Every Mounjaro pen is a four-week supply, so 52 weeks is 13 pens. If you step up after 4 weeks on each dose, the first four pens are 2.5mg, 5mg, 7.5mg and 10mg, after which you continue at the dose your prescriber settles on.

PhaseWeeksPensStandard cost
Full first year, staying on 5mg after your 2.5mg starting pen52 weeks13£2,711.88
Full first year, stepping up through every dose to 15mg52 weeks13£3,599.88

These figures are at standard prices, before discounts. A new customer's first order is £40 less, and every later order is £25 less than the standard price.

If you settle on 7.5mg, 10mg or 12.5mg, the ongoing monthly price is £279.99, £290.99 or £319.99 respectively, before the reorder discount.

Some people prefer to spread the cost. We accept Visa and Mastercard, Klarna and pay-monthly options, and there are no subscriptions, so you can pause between orders. Nothing is auto-shipped; each repeat order re-checks suitability.

When you compare us with other providers, compare the same dose, the same date and the same inclusions. Across the UK pharmacies we track, the gap between providers for the same dose ranges from £27 to £41, and Boots' Mounjaro dose prices run from £179.00 to £339.00 (checked 10 October 2026). Check whether consultation, delivery and follow-up are included, because those can change the real cost. In our case the consultation is free, delivery is free next-day tracked, and monthly clinical reviews are included.

Pharmacy sell prices vary because of confidential discounts, and ours are shown live.

10 · Supplement stacks

Are supplement "GLP-1" bundles worth it?

Supplement bundles marketed with GLP-1 language are not equivalent to a prescription medicine. They are low-cost supplements with no clinical oversight, sold without any assessment of whether they suit you or interact with your medicines.

Names such as "nature's Ozempic" are marketing phrases. They borrow the reputation of a licensed medicine while containing something quite different. Their dosing is not standardised, which means two products with similar names can contain very different amounts of ingredients.

Compare that with a prescription bundle. A licensed medicine has a published product information leaflet, a defined dose ladder, a known side-effect profile and a prescriber who reviews you. A supplement stack has none of those safeguards in the same form, and sellers often lean on dramatic weight-loss claims instead.

That does not mean every non-prescription product is dangerous, and some people use basic nutrition products alongside a plan. But the question to ask is what role it plays. If a product says it replaces a prescription medicine, treat that claim with suspicion. If it is a simple nutrition add-on, discuss it with your prescriber, particularly if you take other medicines, since you should tell the prescribing team about everything you use.

Our related guides look at support supplement bundles in more depth, including how to read a label and what questions to ask a seller.

For counterfeit safety, be especially wary of anyone offering to supply a prescription injection without a consultation or prescription. Medicines should come from a registered pharmacy: you can check ours on the GPhC register (registration 9012878).7 The MHRA publishes counterfeit medicine alerts, and if you ever have a side effect from any product, you can report it through the Yellow Card scheme.19

Our Mounjaro comes through official LillyDirect supply, direct from Eli Lilly's UK distribution, as genuine KwikPens. That is the standard to look for when buying any injectable: a clear supply chain, a named registered pharmacy and a prescriber review.

If a bundle's price looks too good to be true, that alone is not proof of a problem, but it is a reason to ask where the product comes from and who is accountable for it.

11 · Safety and aftercare

Safety, side effects and aftercare

Any prescription GLP-1 plan should include a route for side-effect support. Ours includes ongoing monthly reviews, dose titration and follow-up assessments by the prescribing team, plus side-effect support. Support is available Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm, by email at support@everydaymeds.co.uk, through account portal chat, or by phone on 0333 207 0413.

The medicine slows stomach emptying and affects appetite, which is why dose increases are made gradually, pen by pen. Read the patient information leaflet that comes with your pen.13 If you notice a new symptom, speak to your prescriber, and you can report suspected side effects through the Yellow Card scheme.19

Regulators have looked specifically at whether GLP-1 medicines are linked to low mood or suicidal thoughts: the EMA's safety committee reviewed the evidence and concluded in 2024 that it does not support a causal link, and the MHRA keeps this under continuous review.17 Tell your prescriber about any history of depression, and seek help promptly if your mood drops or you have distressing thoughts during treatment.

If you have thoughts of harming yourself or ending your life, get help straight away. Call 999 or go to A&E if you are in immediate danger. In England you can call NHS 111 and choose the mental health option, any time. You can also call Samaritans free on 116 123, day or night. Tell your prescriber about any change in your mood while taking Mounjaro.

Storage is straightforward. Keep unopened pens in the fridge until first use; they keep until the printed expiry date. Once in use, a pen can be kept out of the fridge at a temperature not above 30°C for up to 30 days after first use, and must then be thrown away.13 Follow the pen's instructions when injecting.

Do not use a pen beyond its licensed life or try to extend it, and do not take extra doses. Dose stretching and other off-label approaches are not something we support.

Remember also what happens when treatment stops. Tirzepatide has a half-life of about five days and takes roughly 4 to 5 weeks to clear the system.1 If you plan to stop or pause, discuss it with your prescriber rather than simply not reordering.

Finally, other GLP-1 medicines exist, including once-weekly Wegovy and newer tablets. Whichever medicine you choose, the same principles apply: assessment, gradual dosing, review and lifestyle support.

The aim is that the person reviewing your order knows your full picture before a pen is ever dispatched.

12 · Serious side effects

Serious side effects: when to get help straight away

Serious side effects are uncommon but need urgent attention. Seek immediate medical help for: severe, persistent stomach pain that may spread to your back, with or without vomiting (possible pancreatitis); pain in the upper right abdomen, fever or yellowing of skin/eyes (possible gallbladder problems); or signs of a severe allergic reaction such as swelling of the face or throat and difficulty breathing. If you take insulin or a sulfonylurea alongside Mounjaro, watch for low blood sugar (shakiness, sweating, confusion) — your prescriber may need to adjust those medicines.1

Your questions, answered

Mounjaro price UK — frequently asked questions

Answers to common questions about Mounjaro prices, NHS access and ongoing treatment.

Ask our pharmacy team
What is a GLP-1 bundle?
A GLP-1 bundle is a marketing term, not a clinical one. It can mean a multi-pen prescription pack of a licensed injection such as Mounjaro or Wegovy, a digital or printed planner or tracker, or a supplement stack. Only the prescription kind contains a GLP-1-class medicine, and it is supplied only after a consultation reviewed by a GPhC-registered prescriber. Always check what is actually in the bundle and who assesses you before paying.
Which GLP-1 is best for weight loss?
There is no single best GLP-1 for everyone. Mounjaro (tirzepatide) activates two receptors, GIP and GLP-1, while semaglutide medicines such as Wegovy act on one. Both are licensed treatments used alongside a reduced-calorie diet and more activity. A prescriber will weigh your BMI, medical history, current medicines and preferences, such as weekly versus daily injections, before recommending one.
How much weight can I lose in 3 months on a GLP-1?
Three months in, most people are still on the lower rungs of the dose ladder, so a sensible expectation on a standard titration is mid single digits as a percentage of body weight, with wide individual variation. In SURMOUNT-1, average loss over 72 weeks was 15% on 5mg, 19.5% on 10mg and 20.9% on 15mg, against 3.1% with lifestyle changes alone. These are averages, individual results vary, and trial averages do not predict your own result. Early weeks are also spent on low starter doses, so be wary of anyone promising specific short-term results.
How do I get a GLP-1 in the UK?
There are two routes. On the NHS, Mounjaro access is being phased in over several years: NICE recommends it for adults with a BMI of at least 35 plus a weight-related condition, and the primary-care rollout began in June 2025 with the highest-need groups first. Privately, you complete a free online consultation, a GPhC-registered prescriber reviews it, and if approved your pen is dispensed and delivered. Ask your GP about NHS eligibility first if unsure.
Is GLP-1 the same as Mounjaro?
Not exactly. GLP-1 is the name of a natural gut hormone and of the medicine class that mimics it. Mounjaro is one brand of medicine, containing tirzepatide, which activates both the GIP and GLP-1 receptors. That dual action distinguishes it from single-action GLP-1 medicines such as semaglutide in Wegovy and Ozempic. So Mounjaro is related to GLP-1 medicines but is not a pure GLP-1-only product.
Who cannot take a GLP-1 medicine?
You should not take Mounjaro if you are allergic to tirzepatide or any of its ingredients, and it should not be used during pregnancy or while trying to conceive. Mounjaro should be stopped at least one month before trying to conceive. Your prescriber will take extra care, or may recommend against treatment, if you have a history of pancreatitis, severe gut or digestive disease, diabetic retinopathy, or gallbladder problems. A prescriber also reviews your medical history and current medicines. If treatment is unsuitable, your order is refunded automatically. Always answer the consultation questions completely and accurately, and mention contraception and diabetes medicines.
Where can I get a GLP-1 online most affordably?
Compare the same dose, on the same date, with the same inclusions. Across the UK pharmacies we track, the gap between providers for the same Mounjaro dose runs from £27 to £41 (checked 10 October 2026). Check that the provider is on the GPhC register, that a prescriber reviews you, and whether consultation, delivery and follow-up are included. Our consultation is free and delivery is free next-day tracked.
What should I know before starting a GLP-1?
Know that the medicine works alongside a reduced-calorie diet and increased physical activity, not instead of them, and that results vary. Doses rise gradually, with each pen a four-week supply, and you should read the patient information leaflet. Tell the prescriber about all your medicines, especially insulin, sulfonylureas and oral contraceptives. If you take the contraceptive pill, switch to a non-oral method or add a barrier method (such as condoms) for 4 weeks after starting Mounjaro and for 4 weeks after each dose increase. Plan for ongoing cost and ongoing review, and remember tirzepatide takes about 4 to 5 weeks to clear after your last dose.
Is a supplement bundle a substitute for a prescription GLP-1?
No. Supplement bundles sold with GLP-1-style names are low-cost products with no clinical oversight, no individual assessment and non-standardised dosing. They are not licensed GLP-1 medicines and should not be treated as an alternative to tirzepatide or semaglutide. Be cautious of dramatic weight-loss claims. If you take any supplement, tell your prescriber, and report any suspected side effect through the MHRA Yellow Card scheme.
How much does a year of Mounjaro cost?
At standard prices, before discounts, a first year of 13 pens costs £2,711.88 if you stay on 5mg after your 2.5mg starting pen, up to £3,599.88 if you step up through every dose to 15mg. If you step up after 4 weeks on each dose, the first four pens, from 2.5mg to 10mg, cost £959.96. A new customer's first order is £40 less, and every later order is £25 less than the standard price.
