A quick overview

What to know
before you start.

  • Share-market success does not change your dose, your prescription or your safety; those come from a prescriber review.
  • There is no tablet form of Mounjaro. Foundayo, Lilly's licensed pill, contains orforglipron, not tirzepatide.
  • Mounjaro's standard price starts at £169.99 per month; a new customer's first order is £40 less, then every later order £25 less.
  • Lilly's UK list price rose on 1 September 2025, which is why pharmacy prices differ and are worth comparing.
In this guide

01 · The honest answer

Eli Lilly stock performance: what it means for UK patients

What is not in dispute is the commercial context. Tirzepatide, sold as Mounjaro, is a once-weekly injection made by Eli Lilly and licensed in the UK for weight management and type 2 diabetes.1 Strong demand for a medicine is a business story. Whether it suits you is a clinical one.

For share-price questions, use Lilly's own quarterly results and a regulated financial adviser. For Mounjaro questions, our page on Eli Lilly and Company and Mounjaro covers who makes it and how it reaches the UK.

02 · Reading the headlines

Common stock questions, and what they mean for you

Is it a good time to buy Lilly stock? No, seek regulated financial adviceIs it a good time to start treatment? A prescriber decides on suitability
Why is Lilly stock crashing? No, we do not comment on price movesDoes a share fall change my medicine? No, the licence and dosing stay the same
What will Lilly be worth in 5 years? No, nobody can say reliablyWhat will treatment cost over a year? A first year costs £2,711.88 if you stay on 5mg after your 2.5mg starting pen, up to £3,599.88 if you step up through every dose to 15mg, at standard prices

03 · Price planning

What Mounjaro costs while Lilly's sales grow

The standard price of one 4-week pen is £169.99 at 2.5mg, £218.99 at 5mg, £279.99 at 7.5mg, £290.99 at 10mg, £319.99 at 12.5mg and £329.99 at 15mg. A new customer saves £40 on their first order at any dose with code FIRST40. Every later order is £25 off the standard price (code DOSE25).

If you step up after 4 weeks on each dose, your first four pens (2.5mg to 10mg) cost £959.96 at standard prices; a new customer's first order is £40 less and every later order £25 less. A first year (13 pens) costs £2,711.88 if you stay on 5mg after your 2.5mg starting pen, up to £3,599.88 if you step up through every dose to 15mg, again at standard prices.

Across the UK pharmacies we track, the cheapest and dearest Mounjaro pens are £143.96 and £339.00 (checked 10 October 2026), and the gap between providers for the same dose ranges from £27 to £41. See our Eli Lilly Mounjaro price guide for the live comparison.

04 · Why tirzepatide demand is high

Why demand for tirzepatide is so high

Demand follows the evidence. Tirzepatide activates two gut-hormone receptors at once, GIP and GLP-1, which helps regulate appetite and slows how quickly the stomach empties.1 Most people feel fuller sooner and less hungry between meals, which supports a reduced-calorie diet.

In the SURMOUNT-1 trial of 2,539 adults, people taking tirzepatide alongside diet and exercise lost on average 15% of their body weight on 5mg, 19.5% on 10mg and 20.9% on 15mg over 72 weeks, compared with 3.1% with lifestyle changes alone.2 These are trial averages and individual results vary. For someone starting at 100 kg, 20.9% is about 21 kg.

Treatment works alongside a reduced-calorie diet and increased physical activity, not instead of them. Our Mounjaro before and after one month guide explains what the early weeks are like.

05 · Oral tirzepatide and Foundayo

Oral tirzepatide: is there a Mounjaro pill?

There is no tablet form of Mounjaro; tirzepatide is injection-only in the UK.1 Foundayo (orforglipron), a different medicine made by Eli Lilly, was approved in the UK in August 2026.

Foundayo is a once-daily GLP-1 tablet. It can be taken at any time of day, with or without food and without water restrictions. Treatment starts at 0.8mg once daily and steps up with at least 30 days at each dose, to a maximum of 17.2mg.21

In the ATTAIN-1 trial of 3,127 adults without type 2 diabetes, people taking the highest dose of orforglipron for 72 weeks lost on average 12.4% of their body weight, compared with 0.9% on placebo. The two lower doses gave 7.8% and 9.3%. In the trial, 10.3% of people on the highest dose stopped because of side effects, compared with 2.7% on placebo.23

Foundayo may make oral contraceptive pills less effective: switch to a non-oral method or add a barrier method for 30 days after starting and for 30 days after each dose increase.21 Read more in our guide to the Eli Lilly pill for weight loss and our page on the Eli Lilly Mounjaro pill.

06 · Tablets versus injection

Tablets versus the Mounjaro injection

No trial has compared Mounjaro directly with either licensed tablet, so results from separate trials should not be set against each other. SURMOUNT-5 is the trial that compared tirzepatide directly with injected semaglutide.15

The practical differences matter as much as the averages. Wegovy tablets (oral semaglutide) need a strict empty-stomach routine every morning: take the tablet after fasting for at least 8 hours, swallowed whole with a sip of water (up to half a glass, about 120ml), then wait at least 30 minutes before eating, drinking or taking other tablets.20 In the OASIS 4 trial, adults on the 25mg tablet for 64 weeks lost on average 13.6% of their body weight, compared with 2.2% on placebo.22

Foundayo has no food or water rules, and Mounjaro needs one injection a week.21 A prescriber will check which option suits your health, your other medicines and your routine. Our weight loss treatments overview lists the options we supply.

07 · UK price rise and supply

The UK list-price rise and who supplies Mounjaro

Eli Lilly announced a UK list-price increase for Mounjaro on 14 August 2025, effective 1 September 2025. List prices rose from £92–£122 per month to £133–£330 per month depending on dose, an increase of up to 170% on the highest dose.10 Pharmacy sell prices vary because of confidential discounts.

Lilly is the manufacturer, and our does Eli Lilly make Mounjaro and is Eli Lilly the only manufacturer of Mounjaro pages explain this in detail. We supply Mounjaro through official LillyDirect supply, direct from Eli Lilly's UK distribution, as genuine KwikPens. Because demand is high, counterfeit and unregulated sellers exist. Anyone offering to supply without a consultation or prescription is a warning sign. Report suspected counterfeits and side effects through the MHRA Yellow Card scheme.7 You can check our registration (GPhC 9012878) on the public register, and see our genuine Mounjaro guide.

08 · NHS or private access

NHS or private: how to get Mounjaro

Mounjaro is available on the NHS, but access is being phased in over several years. NICE recommends it for adults with a BMI of at least 35 plus at least one weight-related condition. The NHS primary-care rollout began in June 2025 with the highest-need groups first, initially BMI 40+ with four or more qualifying conditions.4 Full rollout is expected to take years, which is why many people who meet the licensed criteria choose regulated private treatment.

Privately, Mounjaro is licensed for adults with a BMI of 30 or above, or between 27 and 30 with at least one weight-related condition such as high blood pressure, high cholesterol, obstructive sleep apnoea, cardiovascular disease, prediabetes or type 2 diabetes.1 A prescriber assesses your BMI, medical history and current medicines first.

09 · How ordering works

How ordering works with us

Ordering takes four steps, and our free consultation is the first.

  • Free online consultation: a short health questionnaire, no charge and no obligation.
  • Prescriber review: reviewed by a GPhC-registered prescriber, not a scoring script. Payment is taken when you place the order; if the prescriber decides the treatment is not suitable, the order is refunded automatically in full.
  • Dispensing and dispatch: dispensed by our registered pharmacy, with same-day dispatch when ordered by 3pm.
  • Delivery: free next-day tracked delivery in temperature-controlled packaging. Saturday delivery is £14.99.

Monthly reviews are included, and repeat orders re-check suitability with no auto-shipping. Klarna and pay-monthly options are available, with no subscription. Mounjaro is a prescription-only medicine, supplied only after a consultation reviewed by a GPhC-registered prescriber. Individual results vary, and this page is information, not medical advice.

Your questions, answered

Mounjaro price UK — frequently asked questions

Answers to common questions about Mounjaro prices, NHS access and ongoing treatment.

Ask our pharmacy team
Will Eli Lilly stock go up in 2026?
We are a pharmacy, not a financial adviser, and we do not forecast share prices. For investment decisions, read Eli Lilly's own financial reports and speak to a regulated adviser. What we can tell you is the live Mounjaro price, which starts at £169.99 per month for the 2.5mg pen.
Is it a good time to buy Eli Lilly stock?
We are a pharmacy, not a financial adviser, so for investment decisions speak to a regulated financial adviser. If your real question is whether now is a good time to start treatment, that depends on your health, which a GPhC-registered prescriber assesses in a free consultation.
Why is Lilly stock crashing?
We do not comment on share-price movements, so we cannot explain any fall. A move in the share price does not change Mounjaro's licence, dosing or safety information, which come from the product's official information, not the stock market. Questions about your own treatment should go to your prescriber.
What will Eli Lilly stock be worth in 5 years?
Nobody can reliably say, and we do not offer forecasts. If you are weighing up treatment costs over time, a first year of Mounjaro costs £2,711.88 if you stay on 5mg after your 2.5mg starting pen, up to £3,599.88 if you step up through every dose to 15mg, at standard prices before discounts.
Is there an oral tirzepatide tablet?
No. There is no tablet form of Mounjaro, and tirzepatide is injection-only in the UK.1 Lilly's licensed weight-loss tablet is Foundayo, which contains orforglipron, a different medicine. Wegovy tablets (oral semaglutide) are also licensed. Both are prescription-only.
Do Lilly's clinical trial updates affect UK patients?
Only through the licence. The figures that apply to Mounjaro today are those in the product information and published trials such as SURMOUNT-1.2 Trial results for other medicines, such as ATTAIN-1 for orforglipron, should not be compared with Mounjaro's, as no trial has compared them directly.
Is Mounjaro available on the NHS?
Yes, but access is being phased in over several years. NICE recommends it for adults with a BMI of at least 35 plus at least one weight-related condition, and the primary-care rollout began in June 2025 with the highest-need groups first.4 Many eligible people choose regulated private treatment instead of waiting.
Did Mounjaro's UK price go up?
Yes. Eli Lilly raised the UK list price effective 1 September 2025, from £92–£122 per month to £133–£330 per month depending on dose, up to 170% on the highest dose.10 Pharmacy prices vary, so compare the current figures, which we date on 11 October 2026.
