Can I Order Mounjaro From Different Pharmacies? (October 2026)
You can switch Mounjaro pharmacy at any time, but you should not order from two pharmacies at once. A private prescription is issued for one provider and does not transfer, so a new pharmacy needs its own consultation and prescriber review. Each KwikPen is licensed for four weekly doses, and overlapping supply makes it harder to keep track of your dose. Prices checked 11 October 2026.

A quick overview
What to know
before you start.
-
Switching pharmacy is allowed: private prescriptions do not transfer, so the new provider runs its own consultation and prescriber review.
-
Ordering from two pharmacies at once is not advisable: neither prescriber sees your full picture, and your dose can become unclear.
-
Tell any new prescriber your current dose, your last order date and any gap since your last injection.
-
A new customer's first order with us is £40 off at any dose with code FIRST40, including if you switch at a higher dose.
-
Whichever pharmacy you use, check it on the GPhC register before ordering.

01 · The short answer
Can you order Mounjaro from different pharmacies?
Yes, you can change pharmacy whenever you like, and nothing stops you from comparing providers before you order. What you should avoid is running two pharmacies in parallel. Mounjaro is a prescription-only medicine, supplied only after a consultation reviewed by a GPhC-registered prescriber.1 Each pharmacy's prescriber is responsible for the supply they authorise, and they can only do that safely if they know everything you are taking.
So the practical rule is simple. You can be a customer of one pharmacy this month and a different one next month. You should not hold live orders with two at the same time. Our guide on ordering from different providers gives more detail on changing provider.
02 · Two different things
Switching pharmacy versus splitting orders
Switching means you finish your supply with one pharmacy and then move to another. Splitting means placing orders with two pharmacies in the same period. They sound similar, but they carry very different risks.
| Situation | Is it fine? | What to know |
|---|---|---|
| Finishing a pen, then ordering from a new pharmacy | Yes | The new pharmacy runs a fresh consultation. Have your current dose and last order details ready. |
| Comparing prices before choosing one provider | Yes | Compare the dose you actually need, not only the starter pen. |
| Moving because of a price rise or a delay | Yes | Plan the move so you do not run out between pens. |
| Ordering the same dose from two pharmacies at once | Not advisable | Neither prescriber sees the full picture, and you risk confusion over what you have injected. |
| Ordering different doses from two pharmacies | Not advisable | Your dose should be set by one prescriber who is tracking your progress and side effects. |
| Ordering extra pens to stockpile | No | Repeat orders re-check suitability; stockpiling undermines the review that keeps you safe. |
If your real question is about buying more than one pen from a single pharmacy, see ordering more than one Mounjaro pen.
03 · Cost of switching
What switching costs, and why a second pharmacy rarely saves money
Across the UK pharmacies we track, the dearest Mounjaro pen is £339.00 and the cheapest is £143.96 per month, as of 11 October 2026. For the same dose, the gap between providers ranges from £27 to £41. That is a real difference, and it is a good reason to compare before you commit.
At EverydayMeds the standard price of one pen is £169.99 at 2.5mg, £218.99 at 5mg, £279.99 at 7.5mg, £290.99 at 10mg, £319.99 at 12.5mg and £329.99 at 15mg, each covering four weeks. New customers save £40 on their first order at any dose with code FIRST40, and an automatic £25 reorder discount applies to every future order (code DOSE25). The consultation is free, and the price shown is the price paid.
Switching to us at a higher dose? The first-order discount still applies. For example, your first 15mg order is £289.99 as a first-order price. You can see the current figures on the Mounjaro pen page, which lists all six doses, in stock at the time of checking.
Splitting orders to chase small savings usually backfires. You pay for two consultations' worth of admin, you risk duplicate supply, and you end up with no single prescriber who knows your history. Choosing one provider and sticking with it is simpler and safer.
04 · Why two at once is risky
Why ordering from two pharmacies at once is a bad idea
The main problem is that nobody sees the whole picture. A prescriber reviewing your order decides whether Mounjaro is suitable based on your BMI, medical history and current medicines.11 If a second pharmacy is also supplying you, that assessment is made on incomplete information.
Mounjaro is a once-weekly medicine, and each KwikPen is designed and licensed to deliver exactly four weekly doses.1 Your dose is stepped up under the supervision of a prescriber who tracks how you are getting on. With two suppliers, it becomes easy to lose track of which pen is current, which dose you are on and when your next injection is due.
05 · How to switch pharmacy safely
How to switch Mounjaro pharmacy without missing a dose
Start the move before your current pen runs out. Private prescriptions do not transfer between companies, so the new pharmacy cannot simply take over your old one. Here is a sensible order of events.
- Check your supply. Note how many weekly doses are left in your current pen and the date of your next injection.
- Gather your details. Your current dose, your last order date and the name of your previous provider help the new prescriber place you correctly.
- Complete a new consultation. This is a short health questionnaire. The new provider's prescriber reviews it independently.
- Be honest about your history. Mention any side effects, any missed doses and any gap since your last injection.
- Wait for the decision. The prescriber decides which dose is appropriate. They are not obliged to continue at your old dose, and they may ask questions first.
- Time the first delivery. Order early enough that the new pen arrives before you need it.
Allow some slack for the review and delivery. Switching can take several days, so do not leave it until the day your last dose is due.
Mounjaro is licensed for weight management in adults with a BMI of 30 or above, or a BMI between 27 and 30 with at least one weight-related condition, and is used alongside a reduced-calorie diet and increased physical activity.1 Even if you are already on treatment, a new prescriber will assess you against those criteria, so be ready to answer questions afresh.
06 · Gaps and dose continuity
What if there is a gap between pharmacies?
A short delay is easier to handle than a long one, but the prescriber needs the facts either way. Tirzepatide has a half-life of about five days, so after a final dose it takes roughly 4–5 weeks to clear the system.1 Nothing needs doing while it clears, and there is no way to speed it up.
What that means for you is a clinical decision, not something to guess. If you have missed one or more weekly injections, tell the new prescriber exactly how long it has been. They will decide whether to continue at your previous dose or to restart lower. Do not assume you can pick up where you left off, and do not choose a higher dose than your prescriber has approved.
If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you can within 4 days (96 hours) of the scheduled time; if more than 4 days have passed, skip the missed dose and take the next one on your normal day — never take two doses within 3 days of each other.13 For a gap caused by switching, your prescriber's advice takes priority.
If you are switching because a pharmacy has had delays, it is worth lining up the new supply before you cancel anything, so you are never left waiting without a plan.
07 · Checking the pharmacy is genuine
Choosing a genuine pharmacy when you shop around
Shopping around is sensible, but only among pharmacies you can verify. The MHRA has seized thousands of fake weight-loss pens in the UK and has issued alerts after falsified Mounjaro pens were identified. Fake pens have caused hospitalisations, and some contained insulin rather than tirzepatide.7
Only buy from a pharmacy you can find on the GPhC register, never from social media, beauty salons or unverified websites.12 Genuine treatment always involves a prescription and a clinical consultation. Anyone offering to supply without a consultation or prescription is a warning sign, however attractive the price.
EverydayMeds is a GPhC-registered pharmacy (registration 9012878) and Mounjaro is supplied through official LillyDirect supply, direct from Eli Lilly's UK distribution. For a wider look at how to judge providers, see our guide to buying from a UK registered pharmacy and our overview of GLP-1 pharmacies.
When your pen arrives, check it. A genuine UK pen comes from a registered pharmacy with a batch number and expiry date, arrives cold-chain packaged, and the solution inside is clear and colourless.13 Do not use a pen that has been frozen, looks cloudy or discoloured, has particles in it, is past its expiry, has been above 30°C, or has been out of the fridge for more than 30 days in use. If anything seems wrong, contact the pharmacy before injecting.
08 · What to compare between providers
What to compare before you pick a pharmacy
If you are considering a move, price is only one factor. Compare these before you decide.
| Factor | What to look for |
|---|---|
| Registration | A GPhC registration number you can check on the public register |
| Prescriber review | Orders reviewed by a GPhC-registered prescriber, not an automated score |
| Price at your dose | The price for the pen you actually need, not just the 2.5mg starter. Starter pens range from £143.96 to £179.99 across the UK pharmacies we track |
| Delivery | Temperature-controlled packaging and a clear dispatch cutoff |
| Aftercare | Follow-up reviews and a way to contact the pharmacy when you have questions |
| Repeat orders | Whether suitability is re-checked each time, rather than shipping automatically |
Boots, for comparison, lists Mounjaro doses from £179.00 to £339.00 per month, as of 11 October 2026. Always compare like for like: the same dose, the same four-week pen, and what is included in the price.
09 · NHS and private supply
Can you mix NHS and private supply?
Mounjaro is available on the NHS, but access is being phased in over several years. NICE recommends it for adults with a BMI of at least 35 plus at least one weight-related condition, and the NHS primary-care rollout began in June 2025 with the highest-need groups first, initially BMI 40+ with four or more qualifying conditions.46 Full rollout is expected to take years, which is why many people who meet the licensed criteria choose regulated private treatment.
If you are an NHS patient, do not top up with private pens without telling your NHS prescriber. The same principle applies as with two private pharmacies: one team should know everything you are taking. Equally, if you move from private to NHS care, tell your private pharmacy so your records and dose history stay accurate.
Our page on buying Mounjaro through the NHS explains how the routes differ.

Support is available Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm, by email at support@everydaymeds.co.uk, through the account portal chat, or by phone on 0333 207 0413. Mounjaro is a prescription-only medicine, used alongside a reduced-calorie diet and increased physical activity. Individual results vary, and this page is information, not a substitute for medical advice.
11 · What results to expect
Will switching pharmacy affect your results?
Changing provider does not change the medicine. What matters for results is taking the licensed dose consistently, alongside diet and activity, under prescriber guidance. In the SURMOUNT-1 trial of 2,539 adults, people taking tirzepatide alongside diet and exercise lost on average 15% of their body weight on 5mg, 19.5% on 10mg and 20.9% on 15mg over 72 weeks, compared with 3.1% with lifestyle changes alone.2
For someone starting at 100 kg, 20.9% is about 21 kg. These are trial averages, and individual results vary. They do not predict your own result, and they say nothing about which pharmacy you use. What can disrupt progress is a messy transition: missed doses, unclear dosing or a gap in review. That is another reason to switch deliberately and keep one prescriber in charge at a time.
12 · Serious side effects
Serious side effects: when to get help straight away
Serious side effects are uncommon but need urgent attention. Seek immediate medical help for: severe, persistent stomach pain that may spread to your back, with or without vomiting (possible pancreatitis); pain in the upper right abdomen, fever or yellowing of skin/eyes (possible gallbladder problems); or signs of a severe allergic reaction such as swelling of the face or throat and difficulty breathing. If you take insulin or a sulfonylurea alongside Mounjaro, watch for low blood sugar (shakiness, sweating, confusion) — your prescriber may need to adjust those medicines.1
How ordering works
How ordering works at EverydayMeds
Three steps, with our pharmacy team alongside you.
Step 1: Online consultation — 5–10 minutes
Complete a confidential health questionnaire covering BMI, medical history and current medication. No payment is taken until you're approved.
Step 2: Prescriber review — usually same day
A UK registered prescriber checks your suitability against the licensed criteria (BMI ≥30, or ≥27 with a weight-related condition) and contraindications, and confirms your starting dose.
Step 3: Next-day tracked delivery
Dispensed by our GPhC-registered pharmacy in temperature-controlled packaging with needles and a sharps bin included. Orders approved by 3pm for next-day tracked delivery.
Prescription and dispatch follow clinical approval. Confirm current delivery options when ordering.
Afterwards you're not on your own: dose-change reviews are built in before each step up, our pharmacist team is available for side-effect questions, and repeat orders re-check suitability rather than auto-shipping.
