A quick overview

What to know
before you start.

  • Across the UK pharmacies we track, the same Mounjaro dose can differ in price by £27 to £41 between providers.
  • Comparing the whole-journey cost matters more than comparing the pen price: consultation, delivery and follow-up should all be clear.
  • NHS access to Mounjaro is being phased in over several years, starting with the highest-need groups.
  • You do not need to live near a clinic: an online pharmacy can supply a prescriber-reviewed pen by tracked delivery.

01 · The basics

What "cash-pay" means in the UK and what it costs

In the UK, a cash-pay or self-pay weight loss programme simply means you pay privately instead of being treated through the NHS. There is no insurance layer, so the price you see should be the price you pay. The main cost is the medicine itself, followed by any consultation, delivery or review fees that a provider adds on top.

For Mounjaro, our own price index of the UK pharmacies we track (checked 10 October 2026) shows pens from £143.96 to £339.00 per month across all doses. For the 2.5mg starting pen, providers range from £143.96 to £179.99. Boots' Mounjaro doses run from £179.00 to £339.00. The gap between providers for the same dose is anywhere from £27 to £41, so comparing is worth the effort.

At EverydayMeds, the Mounjaro pen costs £169.99 at the 2.5mg starting dose, and all six doses are in stock. A new customer's first order, at any dose, is £40 less with code FIRST40, and every later order is £25 off the standard price (code DOSE25). If you are switching to us at 15mg, your first order is £289.99.

02 · Compare

How to compare clinics, pharmacies and online providers

The cheapest advertised pen is not always the cheapest journey. Use this checklist to compare like with like.

03 · Ordering

How ordering works online

You do not need a nearby clinic. The process takes three steps:

  • Free consultation: a short health questionnaire, no charge and no obligation. Start your free consultation.
  • Prescriber review: a GPhC-registered prescriber reviews your answers. Payment is taken when you place the order; if the prescriber decides the treatment is not suitable, the order is refunded automatically in full.
  • Dispatch and delivery: same-day dispatch when ordered by 3pm, then free next-day tracked delivery. Saturday delivery is £14.99.

For wider context, see all weight loss treatments and our guide to what drives GLP-1 pricing for self-pay patients.

04 · Who is eligible

Who can be prescribed Mounjaro privately

Mounjaro is licensed for weight management in adults with a BMI of 30 or above, or a BMI between 27 and 30 with at least one weight-related condition such as high blood pressure, high cholesterol, obstructive sleep apnoea, cardiovascular disease, prediabetes or type 2 diabetes. It must be used alongside a reduced-calorie diet and increased physical activity.1

A prescriber assesses your BMI, medical history and current medicines before deciding whether it is suitable for you.13 That is why a free consultation first is the sensible starting point, whichever provider you choose.

05 · NHS or private

NHS or private: the honest picture

Mounjaro is available on the NHS, but access is being phased in over several years. NICE recommends it for adults with a BMI of at least 35 plus at least one weight-related condition, and the NHS primary-care rollout began in June 2025 with the highest-need groups first, initially BMI 40+ with four or more qualifying conditions.46

Full rollout is expected to take years, which is why many people who meet the licensed criteria choose regulated private treatment rather than waiting. Ask your GP where you sit in the local rollout.

06 · What to expect

What results look like

In the SURMOUNT-1 trial of 2,539 adults, people taking tirzepatide alongside diet and exercise lost on average 15% of their body weight on 5mg, 19.5% on 10mg and 20.9% on 15mg over 72 weeks, compared with 3.1% with lifestyle changes alone.2 These are trial averages and individual results vary. For someone starting at 100 kg, 20.9% is about 21 kg.

Treatment works alongside a reduced-calorie diet and increased physical activity, not instead of them.2

07 · Avoiding counterfeits

Staying safe when price shopping

A very low price should make you look harder, not click faster. The MHRA has seized thousands of fake weight-loss pens in the UK and has issued alerts after falsified Mounjaro pens were identified. Fake pens have caused hospitalisations, and some contained insulin rather than tirzepatide.7 Avoid any seller offering to supply without a consultation or prescription, and check the pharmacy on the GPhC register.12

Our Mounjaro comes through official LillyDirect supply: genuine KwikPens direct from Eli Lilly's UK distribution. Our Mounjaro stockist page explains more. Serious side effects are uncommon but need urgent attention. Seek immediate medical help for severe, persistent stomach pain that may spread to your back, with or without vomiting (possible pancreatitis); pain in the upper right abdomen, fever or yellowing of the skin or eyes (possible gallbladder problems); or signs of a severe allergic reaction such as swelling of the face or throat and difficulty breathing.

08 · Planning the year

Planning your costs over a year

If you step up after 4 weeks on each dose, your first four pens (2.5mg to 10mg) cost £959.96 at standard prices. A first year of 13 pens costs £2,711.88 if you settle at 5mg, up to £3,599.88 at 15mg. A new customer's first order is £40 less, and every later order is £25 less.

There are no subscriptions, and Klarna and pay-monthly options can spread the cost. More comparisons are in our guide to cash-pay GLP-1 programmes.

09 · Free and low-cost routes

Free and low-cost routes

Free weight-management support exists through the NHS: ask your GP about local services and the medicine rollout. Be wary of offers that sound too good to be true.

If you have little budget, a free consultation costs nothing and tells you whether treatment is suitable before you spend anything. Medicine is not the only route; your GP or pharmacist can discuss diet and activity support.

How ordering works

How ordering works at EverydayMeds

Three steps, with our pharmacy team alongside you.

  1. EverydayMeds online consultation on a mobile phone

    Step 1: Online consultation — 5–10 minutes

Complete a confidential health questionnaire covering BMI, medical history and current medication. No payment is taken until you're approved.

  2. A clinician ready to review an online consultation

Step 2: Prescriber review — usually same day

A UK registered prescriber checks your suitability against the licensed criteria (BMI ≥30, or ≥27 with a weight-related condition) and contraindications, and confirms your starting dose.

  3. An EverydayMeds delivery box

    Step 3: Next-day tracked delivery

Dispensed by our GPhC-registered pharmacy in temperature-controlled packaging with needles and a sharps bin included. Orders approved by 3pm for next-day tracked delivery.

Start your free consultation

Prescription and dispatch follow clinical approval. Confirm current delivery options when ordering.

Afterwards you're not on your own: dose-change reviews are built in before each step up, our pharmacist team is available for side-effect questions, and repeat orders re-check suitability rather than auto-shipping.

Your questions, answered

Mounjaro price UK — frequently asked questions

Answers to common questions about Mounjaro prices, NHS access and ongoing treatment.

Ask our pharmacy team
What is the cheapest medical weight loss program?
No single medicine or provider is cheapest for everyone, and the prescriber decides what suits you. Across the UK pharmacies we track, Mounjaro pens range from £143.96 to £339.00 per month depending on dose. Compare the whole journey: consultation, delivery and reviews. Our consultation is free, and the price shown is the price paid. Prices checked 10 October 2026.
Where can I get weight loss injections for free?
The NHS is the route for free treatment. Mounjaro is available on the NHS, but access is being phased in over several years, with the highest-need groups first. Ask your GP whether you qualify locally. If you do not yet, private treatment is the alternative.
What are the criteria for Mounjaro on the NHS?
NICE recommends it for adults with a BMI of at least 35 plus at least one weight-related condition. The primary-care rollout began in June 2025 with the highest-need groups first, initially BMI 40+ with four or more qualifying conditions. Full rollout is expected to take years, so ask your GP about your position.
Who is the cheapest weight loss provider in the UK?
No single provider is cheapest for everyone. Across the UK pharmacies we track, the same dose can differ by £27 to £41 between providers (checked 10 October 2026). Our standard price for the 2.5mg pen is £169.99; compare total cost, not just the pen.
Is it possible to get paid to lose weight in the UK?
Nobody can legitimately pay you to take a prescription medicine, so be cautious of any scheme that claims to. For genuine support, speak to your GP about NHS weight-management services, or have a free consultation with us.
Do I need a clinic near me to get Mounjaro?
No. After a free online consultation reviewed by a GPhC-registered prescriber, an approved order is dispensed by our registered pharmacy. It ships with same-day dispatch when ordered by 3pm, then free next-day tracked delivery in temperature-controlled packaging.
Which weight loss programs are free?
NHS weight-management services accessed through your GP are free at the point of use, though medicine access is being phased in over several years. Our online consultation is free and carries no obligation, but any medicine is paid for privately.
Is Mounjaro suitable for everyone who wants to lose weight?
No. It is licensed for adults with a BMI of 30 or above, or between 27 and 30 with at least one weight-related condition. A prescriber assesses your BMI, medical history and current medicines first, and it is used with a reduced-calorie diet and more physical activity.1 You should not take it if you are allergic to tirzepatide or any of its ingredients. It must not be used during pregnancy, and it should be stopped at least one month before trying to conceive. Your prescriber will take extra care, or may recommend against treatment, if you have a history of pancreatitis, severe gut or digestive disease, diabetic retinopathy, or gallbladder problems.
